A lovely restaurant in a beautiful location. The service is very pleasant and efficient, and the staff really cares about you. There's a good selection of menus, and the food is well-prepared and delicious. This restaurant is highly recommended.

Scandalous female employee, we had made a reservation for the playground because of the small children we have with us, this was also explicitly requested during the booking, all no problem, upon arrival we were asked to take a seat in the middle of the terrace, out of sight of the playground. When we noticed this, the young lady thought it was close enough to the playground for them. When we complained about this, the young lady thought we were not allowed to have a discussion about this. Since no solution was offered, we decided to leave. They will never see us again, very unfriendly staff who do not tolerate any contradiction.

Had a lovely lunch on the terrace at Stroming and the weather was great. Still busy during the week. We enjoyed it with 3 and quick friendly service. Nice seats view over the water where you can also moor. Definitely recommended to have lunch-drinks there. Nice playground for small children. Close to a mill.

A menu full of tasty things! Another plus is the wide choice of dishes without meat. Beautiful restaurant (both in terms of location and interior) and friendly staff. Two minor points: the tables were very close together, impossible not to follow the conversation next to you and it was really stuffy and warm in the restaurant (outside it was about 18 degrees and rainy). I asked if something could be done about it, air conditioning would be turned on but I didn't notice any difference.

The first time we had lunch we were very enthusiastic. Really a nice place and a beautiful terrace. The food was something different and the quality was good! Out of enthusiasm we booked again with the whole family. Unfortunately the second time was less. The reservation appeared to have disappeared despite the fact that I had called for it. I had also hoped to be able to enjoy the nice place or the terrace again, but we were in the old part with the nice weather. The service was busy, not really consistent and effective. The quality was also a bit less/different compared to our first visit. Too bad!

Had high tea here with a friend. It was a beautiful sunny day, which made it very busy here. After having tea we had to wait 30-45 minutes for the first round (despite having reserved this in advance). Assume this was due to the crowds. Food was good. Employees friendly. On nice days, keep in mind that it may take a little longer.

An ideal place to end the week with a tasty snack, a drink and a wonderful atmosphere on the water. Highly recommended!

Been here for the 2nd time. First time for lunch and now for dinner. Very pleased both times. Friendly staff, good food that has a little twist or is a bit surprising in a good way. Because it all tastes delicious. Dishes are nicely decorated/served. Menu choice is fine for both lunch and dinner. Shared dining starters are approximately the size of a tapas dish and the main courses are approximately the size of a starter. (Or just a little bigger). Outside you have a wonderful view into the polder and inside it is wonderfully light during the day. It is stylishly/attractively decorated. The only point if you come to dinner in the evening, there is a limited number of parking spaces. So the roadside/cycle path is used when it is busy. Lots of cyclists during the day. Nice place, I will definitely come here again for a delicious meal.

Super nice restaurant right in the polder on the water. Extensive varied menu of food and drinks. The interior exudes quality and the food is also tasty. Grabbed a nice lunch menu myself. A small point of attention is that the food took a bit long to serve on a sunny, busy Sunday. But because you can sit outside and in the sun so nice, everything went well.

Have had drinks and eaten with them several times to my satisfaction. However, a bad experience tonight. Made a reservation at half past seven. At 8:15 PM we were able to place the first order for shared dining. At 9:15 PM, while we just had a new dish, we were told that we could place the last order!?! During dessert it became busy at the bar and at a table with staff who were apparently worked out. No more attention from a waitress. Have to 'beg' to pay. No goodbyes when we left, staff were busy with each other. Very unfortunate, the last time for us for a while.

Really enjoyed the terrace on the water (in bad weather it is also cozy inside!). Opted for the nachos with pulled chicken, which was well filled. Service friendly and very smooth despite the crowded terrace. I will definitely come back!

Had a nice lunch last weekend. The decor is stylish and has a nice atmosphere. Prices are good, staff could still learn something in terms of friendliness. Wouldn't dine here anytime soon, the dishes are a bit too culinary and special. Reservations are definitely necessary, the parking lot and restaurant were overcrowded.

What a wonderful experience! We've had three different rounds. Some starters, an Italian round and a round consisting of different dishes. The price-quality is top and the staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. We will definitely go back again.

This is just a good restaurant . Tables nicely apart good spaces, service fine the shared dining dishes we had were of high quality . Roughly 50euro- pp. for sure will come back

Not highly recommended for a large group. Shared dining cannot be shared because the portions are relatively small. In addition, the choice on the menu is quite focused on culinary delights. And for the "picky eaters" there is very little safe choice. A slightly more extensive choice would make it more fun to go with a group. For people who like to eat special things that require expensive words to describe a sauce; the quality is good. The starters and deserts were very tasty. But I can't imagine it attracting a wide audience. The potential is there, but it just isn't there.

We had lunch here with family on Boxing Day. When you enter you will receive a friendly welcome. The operation and service were good, neatly explained. Also patience with children. The restaurant looked really attractive and clean. Also outside the terrace with the mill and playground, when the weather is nice, also nice and cozy to sit there. Highly recommended!

Always a top location for drinks!

What a great experience at Stroming in Etten-Leur! I ordered the smashed avocado with salmon salad, and it was absolutely fantastic. All flavors were perfectly balanced, and the portion was large enough to leave well-filled. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy, with a beautiful and stylish interior. In addition, the staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable, which made the whole experience complete. Definitely recommended, I will definitely come back here!

Our visit to the restaurant was a disappointment. When we looked at the menu, we noticed that it was based on a shared dinner. We were very disappointed with the shared dinner. The portions cannot be shared with 4 people, at most 2 people. So no more dinner at Stroming for us.

Wow, what a wonderful evening we just had at Strøming. Super nice staff, beautiful place, delicious food, special flavors and extreme attention to my allergies. Everything was carefully discussed, written down and queried. Highly recommended & we will definitely come back here.

You can't get a glass of water here for 2 gin and tonics at almost €30. We also wanted to order extensive wine. We didn't do this. A carafe of water was impossible otherwise everyone would just drink water... The staff thought it was ridiculous, but it really wasn't possible. We ordered a few snacks. They were tasty, but on the thin side. Even in London, Paris and Athens, among others, they serve a free carafe of water without asking. They could learn something from that in Etten!

The taste of the food is fine, but the quantity is on the meager side. All dishes must be ordered separately. The explanation beforehand was difficult to understand due to the minimal dampening of the sound (reverberation from the ceiling).

Was here for the first time yesterday. They have renovated it beautifully. We sat at the high tables. In a previous review I read that the tables are close together and the acoustics were very annoying. So I don't think so at all. There is enough distance between the tables so that you cannot hear the other person's conversation (which is the case in many restaurants these days). It was quite busy, but you didn't notice it. The food was delicious! I have celiac disease and upon arrival I was immediately asked who had celiac disease. The menu had changed that day, so the staff had written down which dishes I could have, and which ones were adjusted. The staff was friendly, came to the table at exactly the right times (not too many). We were recommended a rosette after we asked for it and it was delicious.

We were able to sit outside on the water, it was a nice afternoon to enjoy a glass of wine and a beer and the atmosphere outside and inside is very nice and cozy and the service was great.

Restaurants where you can't get a carafe of water on the table or even a glass of water (really) should all get 1 star as far as we're concerned until they understand that this is the height of unfriendly behavior towards the customer. And no longer of this time. A glass of water with my cocktail: 'we don't do that'. And: 'if you get a glass of water, the entire terrace will soon want a glass of water'. Would it really? What a sadness. We had already ordered two cocktails and were about to order the wine because we had something to celebrate. We left the wine alone, as did the dessert. And unfortunately no tip for the waitress, who of course cannot do anything about this policy. She indicated that she would pass it on to the owner, but that he was probably not going to change it. Good to know, then we will never have to return here again. But seriously: this can no longer be explained in 2024, can it? Wouldn't you like to pamper the customer and do everything you can to give them a fun and relaxing evening? We, and undoubtedly many other guests, would certainly not drink a glass of water all evening in such a beautiful restaurant in such a beautiful location. But if the fear is so great that that does happen, then there is probably something really wrong with the concept. Or does the owner really have no understanding of customer friendliness. Yet again the appeal: just put out a standard carafe of water, ask for a few euros for it for charity, and then it's solved. We thought the dishes were fine, but very on the small side. In particular, the piece of salmon intended for shared dining was so small that we could barely cut it into 2 pieces. But again: it tasted great and the restaurant has been beautifully and tastefully renovated.

I really don't understand the good reviews at all. It's nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing. All beautifully and neatly served, but of very poor quality. Small portions, food from packets and certainly not worth the price. Service is rude and every question is too much. Turns out I'm not the only one who realizes it (see Tripadvisor). The reviews here sound too good, something isn't right. The atmosphere/location is nice and the building has been beautifully renovated. Tables are a bit close together and it also echoes a bit. It is nothing more than the typical restaurants that are springing up like mushrooms these days, with the motto “Little for Much”. Look nice, serve little, pay a lot. Not for us. I know plenty who serve much, much better food for the same price.

This restaurant is an absolute asset to Etten-Leur and the surrounding area! Delicious food, good and friendly service and a nice atmosphere/location! The only point for improvement would be the parking facilities, which the municipality of Etten-Leur may be able to assist.

Disappointing experience with the service I've been to Stroming in Etten-Leur a few times and the food has been tasty and different so far, but my last experience with the employees on the phone was downright disappointing. With a reservation on a day when 35 degrees was forecast, I called the restaurant to ask if the air conditioning would be on. To my surprise I was treated in a rude manner. It seemed like my question was completely inappropriate and I felt like I was being snubbed. How dare I bother them with this question. One day later I called the restaurant again, because I don't want to write off everything because of 1 negative employee. I was told they couldn't guarantee the air conditioning would be on, which was fine with me - I just wanted to know in advance. When I indicated that I wanted to cancel the reservation, I received a sharp response asking whether this was because of the air conditioning. Yes, indeed, I don't go out to eat in 35 degrees without air conditioning, because I can't enjoy my meal. I found the way I was subsequently treated, canceling for that reason, really inappropriate and customer unfriendly. I hope the restaurant shows a little more understanding of their guests' concerns and adopts a better attitude when dealing with customers. I don't feel like going here anymore. Shame!

Nicely renovated. Inside looks very stylish. The relaxing environment on the water is also beautiful. The mill completes it completely. Service is friendly and social. I don't know if they regularly change their menu with the seasons, but the dishes we ordered tonight were tasty. The two of us had the Italian fries, naan bread and the mushroom taco. For dessert the candied pineapple with white chocolate mousse. Everything was beautifully presented. We also ordered lemonades which were very tasty. Well, 1 minus point. The concept is 'shared dining' but you only get 1 taco. Maybe an idea to serve several tacos, but smaller? All in all I would definitely come back!

Very nice format: sharing dinner!

In this sunny weather we already had two delicious lunches on the terrace by the water. Lunch is really tasty. What I especially like is the decoration of the food with plenty of salad and vegetables. And a delicious Sicilian lemonade, which really suits the warm weather. Now back again for dinner. In any case, I can recommend lunch and what a lovely terrace on the water, where a boat regularly passes by. Will definitely come back.

That can happen, but after talking to the waiter several times and they admitted that we were unlucky tonight, no gesture was made. A missed opportunity for the young manager. Perhaps a senior manager would have handled this differently.
