A really nice place. Highly recommended in both winter and summer. The food is tasty and the staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and observant. They even keep an eye on whether the children are getting along well with each other out of sight of their parents. Huge kudos, uhm, I mean of course: Bravo!

We come on holiday to Ameland with our family every year and always stay here for two weeks. During our stay, we visit Bravo Restaurant at least four or five times, for both lunch and dinner. It has always been a wonderful place, both for our children and for ourselves. We came back with great pleasure this year as well. Unfortunately, we had a less pleasant experience during our last visit. We were sitting on the terrace and our order was not taken until about 20 minutes later. Of course, that can happen; we had no problem with that. It was around 1:00 PM and, moreover, the restaurant was not very busy. During lunch, we all ordered about three drinks per person. However, what bothered us was that we were asked almost every ten minutes if we wanted another drink and if everything was to our liking. We certainly appreciate good service and attention to guests, but this felt excessive and was actually disruptive. We noticed that the guests at the table next to us were approached in exactly the same way. When a glass is empty, it is perfectly normal to ask if someone wants another drink. But when a glass is still half full, there is no need to keep asking about it. Because of this, we were unable to enjoy our lunch in peace. In the end, we even left earlier than we would have liked. We sat at the table for less than an hour, and our children couldn't even play for a bit after dinner because we no longer felt at ease. When paying the bill, I also mentioned this to the employee who served us, a small lady with glasses. Unfortunately, I did not feel that my comment was taken seriously. Nevertheless, I still left a tip. I hope you view this feedback as constructive criticism. Perhaps this way of serving will result in extra orders in the short term, but in the long run, you could lose loyal customers because of it. That would be a shame, because we have been coming to Bravo Restaurant with great pleasure for years and hope to be able to continue doing so in the future.

Friendly staff, great location. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing in terms of value for money. The portions were small. As a family of five (including three small children), we ended up paying €85 each for a drink and a main course (three of which were children's meals)...and cycled home hungry.

It is a really nice place to eat. I recommend the spareribs and the brisket.

Delicious food, and going against the grain of the other restaurants on Ameland that seem to have consulted with each other to minimize variety. At Bravo, you immediately get the feeling that the staff are eager to give you a wonderful evening. And they succeed very well thanks to a pleasant rhythm and delicious food. The open kitchen offers a view of the plating of the dishes and the tranquility that prevails. By far my first choice if I have to give someone a tip for dining on Ameland!

We had a delicious meal, the service was friendly, it was a pleasant atmosphere, and that made our last day of vacation on Ameland satisfying to look back on.

Everything is great! A lovely outdoor playground for the kids, service spontaneous and very friendly. And the food is fantastic too!! Highly recommended.

I ordered prawns as an appetizer; they looked great, served on a bed of salad – but the taste was disappointing, completely mealy. The salad was tasty, but the spinach leaves were still gritty. When I asked if I'd enjoyed them, the answer was no, and there was no response.

We have always had delicious meals at Bravo. Lately, however, it has been disappointing. Tenderloin tips were a minimal portion, and the spareribs were not as good as usual. The fries were different too. We were served cold spareribs, had them taken back to the kitchen, and then had to wait 30 minutes for new ones. By then, the rest of the table had finished eating. The owners were not present.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An absolute dream on Ameland – three visits in one vacation say it all! When you end up at the same restaurant three times on vacation, it has to be something really special. BRAVO Ameland completely blew us away! We tried our way through the menu, and every single meat dish was an absolute highlight. The ribs were so tender they fell right off the bone, the steak was cooked to perfection on the grill, and the burgers were simply divine – juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. You can taste the uncompromising quality immediately. A huge shout-out also goes to Max's Meat, the local meat supplier right here on Ameland. This top-quality regional produce, combined with the kitchen's grilling skills, is unbeatable. Add to that the fantastic beach atmosphere, the super friendly team, and the wonderfully relaxed vibe. For us, it's the absolute number one on the island. If you're looking for great meat and a fantastic time, you HAVE to come here! We'll definitely be back!

Due to my autism, I asked if we could sit at the edge of the restaurant, and they followed up on this in a pleasant way. I personally found this to be a very pleasant experience.

Nice place, both inside and outside on the terrace. Friendly staff. We ordered the fish BBQ platter. It is served in two courses and contains a selection of all their fish dishes. Varied and tasty side dishes, beautifully presented. A bottle of wine with it. Excellent!

Nice place. Nice informal atmosphere. Nice, spontaneous service. Main courses delicious (absolutely top-notch), but the portions are (too) large. Desserts delicious, but both crème brûlée and cheesecake could have a firmer texture to make them perfect.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was excellent – attentive, friendly, and very professional throughout our visit. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, and we especially appreciated that it is dog-friendly, which made the experience even better for us. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the tuna steak, which was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Everything we tried was fresh and beautifully presented. What a wonderfully charming establishment. Nice, efficient, attentive, helpful, friendly, and sharp service. On their recommendation, we enjoyed a delicious beer (Amelander Amber beer) with some bar snacks on the pleasant terrace. Located in the dunes on the edge of Nes, in front of the entrance to the beach. Beautiful spot, great place. We will definitely be back.

Very good ambience, next to a sandy playground, just a perfect stop for family with small children. Of course, the food has to be good. We stopped by on our last day at Ameland and just had a few quick but delicious bites of chicken wings, pulled chicken cheese nachos and some fries. They have really diverse options of bites and lunch. We also had a home-made apple tart and a lemon cheese cake. The cheese cake is smooth and quite silky but we like this texture and taste. The playground is just a glass wall away from the outdoor seatings, so parents can really enjoy the food and company while still having a good observation of the children. We really recommend this place for both lovely good and the great ambience!

The food is fantastic! I had the spareribs and it was so tender and fell straight off the bone. The apple crumble for dessert was heaven.

We ate a delicious grilled beef tenderloin with a very tasty wine sauce. A variety of vegetables and unique potato slices. We finished with Crème Brûlée and Cappuccino. Everything was very well taken care of and, above all, very tasty. And the staff were very nice too. We will be back next year!!

The food was delicious. The catfish is highly recommended. We had a wonderful time at the restaurant! A small side note: A flush-mounted faucet in the toilet contributes to the transmission of infectious diseases. There are excellent touchless solutions available.

Excellent food! Steak in the Netherlands is definitely possible. Lovely atmosphere with very nice people. Friendly, helpful, and attentive. The T-bone steak was fantastic, served with vegetables and potato chips. My wife had an avocado burger, and the kids had poffertjes. The price is right for the quality! Keep it up, we'll be back!

Finally, we were able to get a table at this popular restaurant. Reserving in advance is therefore recommended. We dined here with the family and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone agreed on that. A wonderful menu with delicious meat and fish dishes. The desserts were also amazing. Something for everyone. The service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. Hidden gem. From the outside you think... this is a beach shack. Chicken satay with fries, basically. But it's different. The owners also have a butcher shop. They are real foodies. They have the most delicious, beautiful products. Everything is local from the island. And top-notch staff.

Lovely restaurant, cozy atmosphere, and excellent service. I'm vegan, and there were two options for me, but I also saw a veggie avocado burger. I was in the mood for that, but the brioche bun and yogurt dressing made it non-vegan. I always find it awkward to ask about options, but when I did, they were immediately helpful. They even had vegan mayonnaise. It's so nice when someone responds so positively and helpfully right away. We had a delicious meal and a fantastic evening!

We had a wonderful meal here. I had the brisket. Delicious meat, I've never had it quite like this before! Super tender and delicious. I chose a Rioja wine with it, which was also very good. The dessert was also delicious. All in all, a lovely evening with delicious food.

Ended up here after a walk on the beach (me and my two 5-year-olds), the kids had a blast in the playground, and I enjoyed an oat milk latte macchiato. We liked the atmosphere, so we decided to make a reservation for dinner later. The kids get a coloring page and pencils, so they can have fun. I ordered a roll beforehand, delicious fresh bread with plenty of herb butter and aioli. I was recommended the Bravo burger, and I didn't regret it! A well-prepared burger made with Ameland beef (and you can taste it!), an interesting flavor combination, and a nice, thick burger. The potato dippers are also very tasty. The kids enjoyed fries with frikandel/chicken nuggets. Unfortunately, we didn't have dessert because we were tired. The service is fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and great with children. There's an extensive menu with high-quality food in various price ranges. There's a good selection of drinks. I think the price-quality ratio is excellent. Definitely recommended!

A really good restaurant! We had venison here, and it was fantastic! It's a nice location and conveniently close to the beach. We just had to wait quite a while for our food.

I love eating out, but today I was truly impressed with the quality. Everything about this sugarloaf burger was perfect. And the staff was super friendly. The music is also great.

Here, they understand what "low and slow" means. I only ordered the main course after an appetizer: short ribs. When the short ribs were served, I regretted the appetizer... What a portion of short ribs! Not cheap! And the short ribs themselves? Competition-worthy! Tender, flavorful, with a good smoked edge... Simply excellent! A good beer to go with it is also no problem. There's a wide selection on tap and in the bottle. I had a "Goose Island IPA." For an IPA, it's quite bland and unfortunately not IPA-worthy.

We had a wonderful meal at Bravo. The onion soup was recommended to us and it wasn't on the menu, nor were the wild steaks. I thought we'd go for that soup, which was great, but the wild steaks were a must. Not a lousy piece, but a beautiful piece, already sliced ​​and fried beautifully pink. We had to wait a while for it, but it was worth it. Top!

Some of the best food we’ve had in a long time! As an American, I’m snobby about barbecue, but this brisket was first class. Inside was full (we didn’t have a reservation), so we were seated outside with some lovely heated cushions. They even served tapwater to our daughter without charging us (very unusual for the Netherlands). We walked past this place yesterday and our daughter requested it for tonight (she was interested in the playground), and we’re so glad she did. Highly recommended for great food and ambience!

It was very busy and noisy inside. The food was mediocre, and the fries and dips were bad (greasy and almost cold). When we mentioned this while clearing the table, they asked if they hadn't asked during the meal if everything was to our liking...and they hadn't. Too bad, we won't be back.

The atmosphere depends on others. Unfortunately, a very noisy group of 12 people arrived next to us, so we didn't stay for cocktails. But the restaurant couldn't do anything about that.

Nice restaurant with a beach bar feel. We just had dinner here; after a week of testing, it's one of the best restaurants on Ameland so far! The ribs are great, and the vegetarian salad was also excellent!

The food was truly delicious. We had a brisket sandwich and a sparerib platter. All the sides (pickled onion and beech mushroom) were homemade, and the meat was delicious. Add to that a playground for your toddler and the very friendly staff, and you get five stars. Compared to other restaurants near the beach, it's also very affordable and they have great music playing. Phoenix, where else can you hear that while eating!

The restaurant was recommended to us. Dogs are welcome there. We were particularly keen on a dry-aged steak and reserved a table for 5:30 p.m. We were allowed to choose our table. Although the restaurant was only moderately busy at that time, after ordering drinks, we had to wait a long time for our food order to be taken and then for the menus. The menu is not available in German or English. Unfortunately, the grilled plates or BBQ platters cannot be ordered for one person, even for an additional charge. The Bravo steak, which we ordered medium-rare, was rather "well done" and "petite" without the layer of fat. The vegetable side dish was somewhat tasteless, and the peppercorn sauce was inedible. The fries, as a filling side dish, as well as the pesto and herb butter, were okay. Overall, this stay and the meal do not leave a particularly positive impression.

We wanted to eat something gluten-free here. According to various reviews, it was possible. But there wasn't much available on site. So we just had a drink. It was a shame. The staff was moderately friendly. The atmosphere outside was beach bar-like.

Good location, almost on the beach, but away from the center of Nes. Nice atmosphere, nice and friendly waiters, and a playground for children. The spare ribs for €28 (a smaller portion is also sufficient) were particularly great.

Very thoughtful service, and when a delay occurred in service, they rapidly corrected and we even received two deserts free! Chapeaux.

The quality of the food was excellent! Original dishes with a unique touch thanks to the use of the BBQ. Not just with meat dishes. The salmon with a real smoky flavor was delicious! We went back the next day and chose the pointed cabbage dish (vegan) that had just appeared on the menu. Totally surprised by the smoky flavor and the amount of vegetables there as well. This chef has taste and a knack for combinations! And finally, a restaurant that serves lots of vegetables! My appreciation is overwhelming!

If you want to eat well on Ameland, this is by far the best restaurant on the island.
