Wow. What an amazing waitress! She made the evening by serving with her lovely, informal attitude. It felt like you were really dining at your aunt's place, and that really is a nice feeling of coming home. From the perfect espresso martini, which was spot on in terms of proportions, to the delicious pork tenderloin on a bed of gnocchi with cranberry sauce. Highly recommended!

Great spot for very tasty food and friendly service

We had breakfast there once, and it was delicious. After two days, we had dinner there, and I have to say it was fantastic! The service was very friendly, the food was delicious, and it was very child-friendly. My conclusion: anyone who's ever on the island should definitely go there. 😉

Fantastic restaurant with delicious dishes and top-notch service.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner here. The mussel hot pot was fresh and the mussels were large and tasty, although the accompanying bread was just average. The pan-fried fish fillets with curry sauce were excellent. The truffle fries were delicious. The salad portion was smaller than expected. The drinks were also good. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, and the restrooms were large and clean. Overall, it's a great restaurant.

I've been coming here for years. Service varies in terms of accuracy and friendliness. The food is excellent. Quite pricey, though. They were accessible during corona measures (!).

Very cozy and delicious for special occasions

The food was good; we let the chef 'surprise' us with delicacies from the shared dining menu. The satay and pork belly were really delicious. 👌 Nice ambiance. Just a somewhat grumpy waiter who didn't seek much interaction with his guests.

We had lunch here during our Ameland holiday. Generous portions, nicely decorated restaurant, friendly staff. Unfortunately, prices were quite high, as is typical on Ameland.

We dined here last Saturday with a reservation. From the start, it felt chaotic and unstructured. The staff seemed unable to handle the workload and/or capable. There were five of us, so we had chosen the sharing dinner, yet the starter took well over an hour. We also had to ask multiple times how much longer it would take for our food and drinks. The standard response was: "another 5 minutes, the chef is working on it," or "we hadn't expected this rush, so there was too little staff." Furthermore, the food arrived 30 minutes later than the stated 5 minutes. In terms of taste and presentation, the food itself was neat and fine, but not of such superior quality that it justifies the relatively high prices. After expressing our dissatisfaction multiple times, we have not yet received an apology or compensation. It is a real shame, because the nice and tasty menu would make more of an impact if the service were at the same level. Perhaps we will give them another chance next year during the same sports event, but then we do hope that the experience and service will be a step higher.

The food was undeniably good. The service was friendly, however, one remark: we found a few small stones in our fries. This can happen if you don't clean the potatoes properly. We reported this to the wait staff (did not send it back). The response was limited, with no apology or follow-up. I had expected more because there is always a risk of damaging your teeth (fortunately, this did not happen). Hence, one star less for service.

We had a nice meal. But the main course was not lavish for either myself or my wife... I had the salmon. Once again; very tasty, but it is best to order a starter and/or dessert if you want to leave satisfied. It does become a very expensive affair!!

I stopped here on my bike tour and had a "Ballumer" coffee (Amelander coffee) and pancakes. The service was very nice and friendly. Ordering, waiting, and paying were all straightforward. The coffee was delicious, and the pancakes were also tasty. It would have been even better if the pancakes had been piping hot. Overall, I can definitely recommend stopping by here.

Great! Had a delicious lunch at the busy Eeterij Tante A'n. The crowds certainly contributed to the atmosphere. The chicken strips and the catfish are highly recommended. Next time I'm on Ameland, I will definitely go back to Tante A'n.

What a terrible disappointment. I have worked in the hospitality industry myself and I eat out very regularly, but this was truly the low point. I haven't eaten this badly in years. The pork tenderloin was not fresh, clearly came from the freezer, smelled sour, and tasted awful. We even left the fries untouched. All four of us found the food unappetizing and unworthy of a restaurant. I made this very clear, but all I got was a "very unfortunate for you" and I still had to pay 125 euros. A fine place to have a drink, but I would leave it at that...

We had delicious coffee and cake there. If we come back to the island, we will do it again.

We had the surprise sharing menu for dinner. It was fantastic! Very varied and absolutely delicious. We were also pleasantly surprised by dishes we probably wouldn't have ordered otherwise. The service was also very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely café where you can also enjoy good food. Here you can simply have a coffee and sit in the sun, or sip an Aperol Spritz and eat some bitterballen. They also offer a wide variety of delicious dishes, from light snacks to full meals. Everyone is welcome here. Whether you're tall or short, there's a place for everyone. You can sit outside and soak up the sun, or you can sit inside in the warm, cozy interior.

Great place, very friendly service! Relatively expensive though, because the portions are small, so they want you to order two dishes. Also, if I remember correctly, I had to pay €7.60 for a triple beer. Incredibly high price.

Food is freshly cooked. If you're hungry, an appetizer is a must! The service is very friendly and efficient. The ambiance is authentic, but the tables could use a quick wipe down between guests. Highly recommended overall; the price is reasonable for the quality, but not for the portion size. However, the fries are delicious. 😅

We were generally satisfied, although it was quite expensive. The children's ice cream looked nice, but 5 euros for essentially one scoop of ice cream with whipped cream and sprinkles is really steep.

Really nice cafe for lunch or brunch. They have a gluten-free option. I liked the carrot cake, and we had really nice bread with chicken. Coffee is good, and both the outdoor and indoor seating areas are nice. Lovely place. You can buy some special tea inside, and they also have lovely postcards. Ps 2025 is still the perfect place 👌 It's a great place for kids, people with dogs, and those in wheelchairs. They are nice, and the service is good and fast. This is our second time here, and it's still a lovely place in Hollum at Amelan.

We were served excellent mussels...very friendly and attentive service...the price-performance ratio was perfectly fine...which is unfortunately becoming increasingly rare in the Netherlands these days...

I had a lovely meal here with a friend. We received friendly service and the staff was friendly. The seating inside was comfortable and the atmosphere was pleasant. Unfortunately, I have to say that when we received our food, it was very disappointing. We had a dish with chicken teriyaki, noodles, and vegetables. The portions were incredibly small for the price (26 euros). Near the end of my meal, I was cutting up some chicken and, to my horror, noticed a raw piece. When I showed it to the waitress, she immediately said it wasn't raw and went to check with the kitchen. Both plates were taken away and never returned. She came back and said the chef didn't consider it raw either, even though there was a shiny piece on the chicken, which isn't right. We were offered a drink and cake for the next day after my mother angrily called the restaurant. We won't be doing that because we plan to return. I hope this is a one-off experience and that others enjoy it here!

The atmosphere is excellent. The hot chocolate was unfortunately lukewarm, and after waiting a while with empty cups, I decided to eat somewhere else. Tip: pay more attention to the customers sitting in the corners.

Last weekend we had a drink on the terrace. We were charged €7.60 for a Tripel Karmeliet beer. After contacting the owner, he explained that the high price was due to Sligro and the beer manufacturers ripping him off and that it was due to high transportation costs. It's remarkable that you can find considerably cheaper elsewhere. No more drinks at Tante An's for me!

Nice place in the heart of Hollum. Food is good, perhaps a bit pricey. A bit crowded inside with lots of tables. We had a great time in the corner. Drinks are a bit pricey (wine/beer). Give it 4 stars... I think it's just good. Perhaps I expected a bit more from the 4.6 rating on Google Maps. Desserts are a bit more basic than described.

We always enjoy coming back to Tante An's. Sitting in the comfortable outdoor chairs, especially in the sunshine, and enjoying coffee and cake (or a delicious hot chocolate) is a truly wonderful vacation. But we can also recommend the other meals.

It's very nice to sit outside and people-watch. Friendly staff who speak good German. They offer gluten-free fries, but we didn't try anything else. We'd love to come back. Now we've tried more! And it was delicious. The gluten-free baguette under the chicken with mushrooms and peppers was amazing! My naan bread with goat cheese, blueberries, nuts, and honey was also delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Friendly staff. However, they weren't paying attention: our group, who arrived in a separate group, wasn't paired/noticed, and we were ushered to different tables (despite an announcement with the name of the person who made the reservation). The food was incredibly sparse. The vegetables consisted of one carrot and one green shoot. A small piece of meat (which was barely filling, as described on the menu) and some small fried potatoes. For dessert, they had the nerve to cut one strawberry into four wedges. Four strawberries was apparently too much of a good thing. It seemed as if concern for the gross margin was paramount here. Our entire group felt the same way. This way, they could get by all evening on two bunches of carrots! The conclusion: too little food on your plate, and the feeling of being ripped off for the price you pay. Such a shame. We wouldn't go there again.

We've visited several times and always had good food. In addition to familiar dishes, there's a wide selection of more unusual combinations, which are nevertheless very tasty. They're also beautifully presented. With a few exceptions, everything is available gluten-free. The service is very attentive, and the seating is both pleasant inside and outside. Highly recommended.

It's really worth a visit here, you get really good food and everything that goes with it...if only there were more restaurants like this on the island ♡

Aunt An After a year, back in the charming village of Hollum on Ameland. Traditionally, an evening with "Aunt An" is part of it. The fresh, cozy atmosphere, friendly service, combined with an extensive menu, guarantees a culinary evening of enjoyment. The kitchen staff conjures up beautiful dishes, served by passionate staff. The evening was enriched and accompanied by a fine wine from the menu. In short... an evening never to be forgotten. This one can be written down in the book of memories. Thank you, Aunt An. We had a delicious meal here at the beginning of August 2025 with two adults and two children. There was a children's menu with a few dishes for the children, and fresh fish dishes for us adults that were beautifully prepared and delicious. The desserts were also delicious. All of this in an idyllic, cozy setting. I would particularly like to highlight the young staff, who were very attentive and accommodating. It was a wonderful and successful evening for us. Highly recommended!

Everything was great. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and quickly prepared. 4 stars because side dishes were ordered separately, which are for two people. That's a real cost driver given the higher prices. A big plus is the children's menu, which is presented as a coloring page. Our children especially enjoyed this and it was very useful. Another plus point is the option to order gluten-free dishes!

Delicious food, a very pleasant balance of flavors. Not the most creative, but safe dishes on the menu, which is of course very responsible for such a touristy spot. Good and very fast service! Two minor points to note: 1: the tables on the terrace could be a bit cleaner. 2: if someone dines alone, there could be a less surprised reaction.

Ambience is nice, service is ok, but we ate quiche with spinach and that was reheated catering frozen. Goat cheese did not get further than some chunks from the stock. Dessert did not get further with a scoop of ice cream with a few scoops of confetti goodies.

It's quite nice here! The prices are typically high for Ameland, so neither expensive nor cheap here. The service is good, the ambiance is perfect, it's a great place. Would I go here again? Yes, it wasn't our first time here and we will come again.

During our holiday on Ameland we ate at Tante An twice. Both times we had an excellent meal. Especially the cod, bavette and the desserts were very successful. Smooth and informal service. If I have to mention a negative point, it is that some chairs are very bad, making a full evening dinner a challenge.

SUPER child-friendly! For every little child a bowl with fun toys. And super much delicious GLUTEN-FREE food. All in all we felt very welcome and ate pleasantly.

For me, Tante A'n is the place to go in Hollum for a lunchtime snack, coffee, cake, and smoothies. The mustard soup is delicious, although I prefer it with crispy fried bacon like a Mettwurst. The iced coffee is incredibly delicious and addictive. We had the Berry Bomb smoothie and also an apple and cheesecake. You can't go wrong ordering anything here. The staff is friendly and always has a smile on their faces. We will definitely come back, like every year.
