Bromo Indah in Jordaan

Truly nice, the food is truly flavorfull and has been served by a really kind person with who it was really nice to converse ! We tried another Indonesian restaurant the day before, way more famous yhan Bromo Indah and trust me, Bromo Indah is way much better Thanks for the meal, we will probably go by again !

A little shop of nice take away Indonesian dishes. Even late you can find some tasty stuff here to eat. If you crave for some authentic dishes, give it a try. Nice people running the shop and quick service.

Great food, big portions, fair price

Very nice man! But not very tasty; all the meat was dry and tasteless!

Sorry, but this was very disappointing. The rendang was very dry, and so was the chicken. Nasi was more like plain white rice.

Two humble dishes with a Coca-Cola and ginger beer for 28 euros. It's delicious, but I was expecting something cheaper. The chicken with coconut sauce is spectacular, though. In any case, I think the prices here are prohibitive. I'm new to the city.

When looking for an Indonesian takeaway, Bromo Indah on Elandsgracht is a good choice. This tiny restaurant serves generous portions of homemade Indonesian dishes. A glass vitrine displays everything on offer. As a base, you can select white, fried or yellow rice, fried noodles or fried thin rice noodles, to which two vegetables of choice are added, plus tempeh, a traditional Javanese food made from fermented soy beans, topped with meat, fish or additional vegetables. There's plenty to choose from such as Daging Rendang - beef braised in a mild sweet coconut sauce, Daging Smoor - beef braised in sweet soy sauce, Daging Rudjak - beef in a spicy sauce, chicken breast in a variety of sauces, satay and Ikan Bali - a spicey Balinese mackrel dish. Food here is very tasty, reasonably priced and portions are generous and available in small, regular and large sizes. Bromo Indah also specialises in roti, available in chicken, beef, lamb and vegetarian versions. Snacks include Spekkoek, an Indonesian layered cake, developed during colonial times in Dutch East Indies, made with egg yolks, cinnamon, sugar, butter, cloves, anise and mace. For those unable to visit in person, Thuisbezorgd offers home delivery.

Super goede prijs kwaliteitsverhouding. Lekkere Indonesische gerechten zelf samenstellen met vlees + groenten.

I get take-away here once or twice a week. The food is very good, reasonable prices, and I always enjoying chatting with the owner, who is friendly and helpful.

2 nasi goreng besteld voor thuis. Ik ontving 2 bakjes, beide waren voor de ene helft gevuld met nasi en de andere helft “gevuld” met lucht. Ik heb gebeld om ze de kans te geven om het goed te maken. Maar mij werd vriendelijk verteld dat ik het even moest om scheppen, dan zet het uit.

Super vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk eten. Vooral een hele lekkere vega roti.

Delicious food with very generous amount

Heerlijk gegeten! Smaken in balans, zaak ziet er heel schoon uit, redelijke prijzen.

Fijn Indonesisch afhaalrestaurant. Voor onder de 10 euro krijg je een grote nasi rames met twee soorten vlees en twee soorten groenten en nog extraatjes erbij. Dit is allemaal uitstekend gekruid. Ze hebben ook vegetarische roti. De gerechten liggen in keurige bakken en de klant krijgt rustig de tijd om zijn eigen maaltijd samen te stellen.

Being accustomed to Indonesian Take-Aways, I regard this one being one of the best of its kind in Amsterdam; especially when looking at the price/quality ratio. Although the variety of food and the offerings outside of a core Indonesian Take-Away are modest, it is unrivaled at its core: delivering good (fresh!) food for a low price. Pros + Excellent and tasty food (especially for the sweet tooth) + Fresh food + Unrivaled price/quality ratio + Very good sambal (ordinary and high in spiciness) + Friendly shop-assistant Cons - Perhaps a little too sweet - Modest assortment - No free prawn crackers Total Verdict 9.0/10
