Alas: steak tartare on the menu! No need to call us then. So on this quiet Tuesday morning, we wandered in naturally. Lunchtime or not: it's always time for a good steak tartare. In the otherwise empty brewery, we received a very friendly welcome and sat down at a long wooden table, surrounded by stacks of board games that spontaneously made you wish for a rainy Sunday. We ordered—naturally—the steak tartare, along with a delicious, crisp white beer on tap. After all, the sun was shining, so that's perfectly acceptable. The beer recommendation for each dish is a great addition, by the way. It's no luxury either, as the selection is generous. The dog got water, and we were given a tasty plate with a good portion of steak, two toasted sandwiches, and fine condiments like gherkins and candied pearl onions. To be fair: the steak tartare could have had a bit more spice and seasoning. But otherwise? A delicious lunch. Not dirt cheap, but with the friendly service, cozy setting, and excellent beer, it's definitely recommended for a tasty lunch break. 🍺🥩😄

Great night...good atmosphere for the quiz...and one of the team said it wad the best smash burger they had ever eaten!!

Not bad. Hot chocolate was fine. Fries with truffle mayo and parmesan were ok. Service was friendly.

Great beer, perfect location. Pure fun and frolic. Bitterballen without filling, though. I think they leaked in the fryer. On the second try, they were very generously filled.

We rented the balcony space for our little boy’s 5th birthday last Sunday afternoon, bringing together around 50 people from 3-80+ yrs and it was really wonderful!! From the booking to the amazing and fast service throughout, we were super spoiled. No stress and lots of food and drinks, and we got to give it our own bday touch too. A really cozy place to sit and enjoy delicious beers. The smash burgers were excellent, and the burger of the month, which I had, was tasty but I found it a bit overcooked. The service was excellent, with a really friendly young man who was interested in his guests.

I visited Troost Westergas with friends during Octoberfeest. Unfortunately, the evening ended with an unpleasant incident involving another group of guests. I felt the situation should have been managed better by the venue. The atmosphere is nice, but I expected more responsibility from the staff in handling such situations.

Someone threw a beer glass at us and waitress called the police indicating that we were the ones who threw it while we were already at the exit. Pretty lame

Tried the Adventurer flight—four preselected beers, including some off-menu options. The NEIPA with Supedelic hops was light and sweet, though could’ve used a bit more hop punch. Dunkelweizen was nicely balanced with caramel notes and subtle tartness from the wheat. The White IPA blended witbier and IPA styles—clean, light, and refreshing. Finished with a pastry sour: sweet, dessert-like with vanilla and banana, and a surprising coconut aftertaste (despite no coconut added). A fun mix overall.

Ik kwam in een speeltuin terecht van het personeel bij troost Westergas, bier was lekker, eten viel tegen en heb best lang moeten wachten op een burger, ook had ik aangegeven nacho’s als voorgerecht maar kreeg alles in één keer. Over het personeel aan de bar niks te klagen, over mijn bedienster zeker wel was een blond meisje heel arrogant en kreeg het gevoel dat ze ons snel weg wou hebben, had nog even gevraagd wat haar naam was aan een andere bedieningslid maar kan alleen iets herinneren met duni:(

We were warmly welcomed with a reserved table and water. I arrived and was immediately shown to this table by a friendly hostess. Damon, our host, took us to the brewery and enthusiastically and thoroughly explained, let us smell, see, and taste how beer is brewed. He was so passionate about beer and brewing that it was a pleasure to listen to and, of course, to taste the beer. Afterward, we sat with all the Kluppers on the terrace with a beer and a snack, under large umbrellas because the rain had stopped. A wonderful experience at Troost! Cheers (I now know how that word originated). Well done Damon, and thanks again!

Nice atmosphere, cheerful and good staff and a cozy place.

We went this place last weekend and we were lucky because the weather was really sunny and the terrace was very good to enjoy. They have a huge terrace to sit down. All the beers are home made and you can see the tanks inside. They have glasses or pitcher options. We ate bitterballen and it was ok. Their beers are really very nice and they have many types to drink. The beer with honey and ipa were really tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. They speak English very well.

Simplemente simple y llanamente en el puerto del parque cultural en Amsterdam Westerpark. Parte de una pequeña cadena de micro cervecerías, produciendo sus cervezas de autor en el acto. Micro cervecería “Troost” con una variedad de cervezas especializadas de temporada. Simplemente acompañado de unas deliciosas patatas fritas. Ubicado dentro de las estructuras monumentales de Westerpark en el Pazzanistraat. Y muy importante: Feliz servicio agradable con una sonrisa 😀 - establece el estado de ánimo correcto!

Right next to the Fabrique de Lumieres, we happened upon this microbrewery with excellent food, service, and beer! Definitely try the fries with truffle sauce and Parmesan cheese! They're amazing! The pulled chicken burger and club sandwich were also delicious! We sat in the beer garden, but the inside is also really nice. You can fill up your drinking water for free at the tap at the brewery. The homemade lemonade is also great.

Pfff well I don't write reviews that often anymore, but this was so bad that I'm going to pick up my virtual pen again. The so-called smash burger was almost raw and after we had indicated that, it was simply put in the oven for a while and the result was not very different. The fish and chips were so salty that the Red Sea would get a dry mouth from it. Soft drinks bizarrely expensive. Not recommended.

This afternoon I sat on the terrace for the first time and had a nice meal. I am not a beer drinker, so I always walked past this place. What a surprise today and nice to find out what you all make yourself! Anne told us a lot and really helped us despite the crowds in the afternoon when the sun was shining again. The food was delicious (fish & chips, karrage and hamburgers) cappuccino was delicious but may I say something about the truffles that you got with the coffee. Abnormally delicious! We will definitely come back. And Anne, thanks again!

We LOVED everything about our visit to Brouwerij Troost on 6/2/25 ~ from the most fabulous, attentive, & kind server to the delicious beer & bitterballens (our 1st ever)! The brewery has a great vibe and a lovely patio near Westerpark. We can't wait to return on our next trip to Holland!

Really great place! We came for lunch and had burgers and they were excellent. They have gluten free buns available as well. The restaurant is quite big inside and you can see where the beer is brewed. It has a nice vibe inside

I went here last night with family visiting from Scotland and had fantastic evening! Our waitress was AMAZING giving top service, explaining the menu, helping us choose beers, getting water for our dog, even giving us the secret recipe for the burger sauce - which by the way was one of the nicest burgers any of us had ever tried! Would recommend this for anyone especially tourists due to the great atmosphere, yummy food and beers and super friendly staff!

Stumbled across this brewery while out walking in Westerpark. Sat outside, great atmosphere and the food was very good. However the best bit was their own beer selection. Would recommend trying the IPA at 6.0🍺

Cozy café in the beautiful Westerpark. Excellent for drinks, they have their own brewery for food, slightly less but tasty standard snacks and a few other items. Service is good and the environment is certainly pleasant

Very overrated. Beer was not as great. Not a big selection. And the beers are small for the price or to expensive for the size however you want to take it.

I paid €42 for 2 hamburgers and 2 cans of Red Bull. Ridiculous prices for a burger. It took a very long time before it was ready and yet the meat was not cooked on the inside. This was definitely the last time.

I walked into Brouwerij Troost expecting a laid-back brewery experience—craft beers, good vibes, maybe even a decent deal on a simple drink. What I got instead was an unexpected financial gut punch. A pils for €4.50? My soul left my body. A glass of wine for €6.50? I briefly considered asking if the grapes were hand-crushed by Dutch royalty. Look, I get it—it’s a brewery, they do craft beer, they have a hipster aesthetic. But when I’m paying premium prices for a drink I could get at any random brown café for half the cost, I start to wonder if I accidentally walked into a money-laundering front. The beer? Tasty, sure. The atmosphere? Nice enough. But the moment that bill hit the table, I felt like I needed to start rethinking my life choices. Brouwerij Troost: where you can enjoy a decent drink—if you don’t mind paying Troosteloos prices.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch here with 4 adults, 2 children and a baby. Welcoming reception, smooth service and attention to our wishes.

Amazing vibe and it was very pretty at night. Came here for a dinner with friends and the cheeseburger was pretty filling and a solid 8/10. It didnt come with fries so you had to order it separately. They had really good cocktails, i got a cocktail (moscow mule if im not mistaken) and it was very good.

I had my first Bitter Ballen here 😙💛 The outside is crunchy and crispy❗️The inside is creamy and has a texture similar to the inside of a crab cream croquette The mustard went really well with it and it was delicious🥰 But when I ordered without thinking about it, everything turned out to be fried, which was a big deal 😂 It’s OK to bring dogs, which I’m very grateful for 🐶 I went on a Sunday afternoon, so it was pretty busy!

Cozy place with tasty (also vegetarian and vegan!), friendly service. Very busy and our table near the entrance was terribly cold. Every time someone came in you got a gust of cold! Should they really do something about it? Or don't put a table there or insulate better with a real closing curtain, for example.

Update 19/12: After further contact with the location, I was helped very kindly and I was offered ample compensation. For this I would like to thank you again! Thank you for the recognition and the good and friendly handling. On December 4, 2024, I went for a drink at Troost around 7:30 PM. Unfortunately I lost my wallet there that evening. When I called a day later to ask if employees had found anything, I got a female employee on the phone who said she was too busy to see if anything had been found. She indicated in a not so friendly tone that I would have to send an email because she did not have time to look at the lost property. In the meantime I had sent the email and received no response. Later, that same day, I called Troost again and spoke to another colleague who would check to see if anything had been found. As soon as she put the phone down I heard those colleagues discussing with each other 'is that the girl who emailed? She just has to wait a while." I experienced this as very rude. In a situation like this, you want to know whether something has been found and whether you should block your passes. This is not the way to address guests and I hope that a manager reads this and addresses the employees about this. In any case, I won't be coming here again.

What an experience! Had a delicious meal here after visiting Frabrique de Lumieren. Had the best service from a friendly young man with curly hair. Delicious mussels and fantastic beer. Recommended if you are in the Westerpark.

We had such a good time here! Had a nice drink and played games. Service was also very pleasant. The New England P.Star is highly recommended.

The vegan bitterballen were delicious, as well as the Virgin IPA 👌🏼 The servers were also very nice and accommodating. The beer was a bit pricey, especially coming in a can instead of tap, but it was nice of them to have at least one of their own beers being non-alcoholic. Would definitely come back to try new non-alcoholic ones!

Waited 25 Minutes in an almost empty Restaurant for the Waitress. She passed me about 9x without letting me order my Beer. Normally 1 Star, but the second Stars is for the warm Place during my Waiting Time. Never again ✌🏼

De lunch genoten bij Troost. Een prima biertje gedronken en de lunch was goed, niet spectaculair. We bestelde een broodje carpaccio maar die was op, kan gebeuren echter 10 minuten later kreeg de tafel naast ons broodjes carpaccio..... Wat tegen viel was dat het er koud was, 15 graden buiten en dan alle deuren openlaten is niet fijn, daarnaast is het geluid er niet prettig. Jammer want het ziet er leuk en trendy uit.

The beers took a long time to arrive which was a bit frustrating, but it’s a cool setting and they were very enjoyable. The food looked good, but we only stayed for a drink before heading elsewhere. Worth a visit if you happen to be in the park.

We went to Brouwerij Troost for a quick beer and to try the croquettes, and we had a good experience. The beer was cold and was served quickly. The croquettes were well made, crispy on the outside and with a tasty filling. The atmosphere is pleasant, with a relaxed atmosphere, ideal for a late afternoon with friends. The service was efficient, even though we didn't spend much time there. For those looking for a simple and pleasant place to have a snack and a drink, this is a good option.

We really enjoy Oktoberfest in Troost. The food was awesome, the people great and the ambiance joyful. Definitely we will come back for other events. I can’t wait for winter season!!
