Calf & Bloom was an excellent choice for our team lunch with a group of about 13 people. The service truly stood out—our waiters were amazing, incredibly kind, and genuinely friendly throughout the entire meal. The food was just as impressive, with tons of options and everything we ordered tasting fantastic. It’s a great spot for accommodating a larger group without feeling rushed or cramped. If you’re looking for an outstanding lunch spot with great food and even better service, this place is a no-brainer. Please note, it never hurts to call ahead for reservations!

I had a great experience at this restaurant inside the mall in Amsterdam. It has a café-style vibe but with a full menu, including meat dishes, salads, and toasts. The food was excellent — the toast was delicious, the salad was fresh, and everything felt high quality. The place is beautifully designed and very comfortable to sit in. It’s not typical for me to return to the same place the next day since I usually like trying new spots, but it was so consistently good that I came back again. Definitely deserves praise.

Bloody Mary = excellent. French fries = superb. Flammkuchen = unfortunately only mediocre, because the base was too biscuit-like.

One downside for Calf & Bloom: The price tag is quite pricey. Why isn't your order taken immediately even though you've already ordered something? You're waiting for your order, but you don't get anything. The Calf & Bloom employees are kindly requested to only clear the tables outside after 8:00 PM. Calf & Bloom closes at 7:00 PM instead of the posted closing time of 8:00 PM.

Update: November 2025 - excellence personified. Go here without hesitation. Just do it! Update: September 2025: Still awesome, still going regularly, still worth it. Go!!October 2024. Still consistently one of my favourite places to come. The food and drink are great, and the staff make it total excellence. Don't hesitate to pay this place a visit - just do it (again and again)!

I’m gluten intolerant and ordered toast with burrata , my mistake, I didn’t notice the bread in the description. When I told the waiter about my gluten allergy and asked to have just the burrata without bread, the chef simply took off the bread and moved the same ingredients (tomatoes and salad) to another plate. That’s serious cross-contamination and extremely irresponsible. For anyone with allergies, this is not a safe place to eat.

I’ve been coming here for years, but unfortunately the prices keep rising while the quality keeps dropping. The sandwiches are now almost double what they used to cost. That said, the views over the Bloemenmarkt (Flower Market) are lovely, so I’d recommend stopping by for a drink rather than a meal.

This is a place I discovered quite by chance for a shopping break. The setting is very pleasant. The service is fast and with a smile. The apple pie is to die for! But there's also savory options if you prefer.

Wow what amazing food. Had the best carpaccio sandwich. Staff seemed a little reserved but they were really kind gave my children extra chocolates. Lovely setting. Highly recommend.

First place we ate in AMS!!! my steak, cheddar jalapeño and chimichurri sandwich was insane, my boyfriend couldn’t keep his hands off my food… his hotdog in terms of flavour was stunning however it’s not the most filling for €13.50. Heineken is Heineken so always decent. In regards to service, they spoke both Dutch and English so this place is tourist friendly, atmosphere is lovely every table has flowers on it, lovely open pier windows too. Overall €48 for two pints a sandwich and a hotdog. Decent if u ask me 🩷

Had lunch here. Service friendly and smooth. Within a minute the drinks were on the table. The sandwiches arrived quickly too. Too bad there is only 1 type of bread. Unfortunately no real brown bread. All in all a nice lunch. Although we were very shocked by the price for a glass of (house) wine. €6.75 is a ridiculous amount of money. A reason for us not to come here anymore.

Didn't stay for food. We asked for a table and a host just walked right past me. The entire staff seemed completely out of it. We asked for a table by the window to be cleaned off since it was a great spot. Seemed like they were going to clean it off and other guests just came and took it. I said were here first and a waitress just shrugged. Super bizarre experience so I can't imagine what eating there would be like. So we just left.

No service, despite 2 service staff who walked past us several times, after waiting 20 minutes we left... What a shame!

Maar bent meer dan verrast door de uitstekende service, gastvrijheid. Ik neem altijd een clubsandwich (zegt een hoop over de keuken) Ik was echt verrast, heerlijk!! Mijn vrouw had de sandwich met gerookte zalm en ik kan niet anders zeggen dat ook deze spot on was! Voor ons een nieuwe plek om tijdens het shoppen even te genieten van een goede lunch!

Ideal for a family with a buggy! You're not in anyone's way, there is a high chair, a changing table, and a children's option (but only one). They also gave an extra portion of applesauce to the little one if requested. Recommended.

I had a nice time here with my friends. The food was okay. I was going to pay and then the tip screen was shoved in my face and the employee asked for a tip in a huge hurry. This made me feel very forced to tip extra.

Calf&Bloom is a hidden gem! I recently stopped in while shopping and we enjoyed coffees and kokos macaroons. The service was good and the drinks/snacks were perfect. I'll be back again soon.

This restaurant/coffee bar is situated inside a small mall but also has seating outside along the canal. Lovely bright and airy restaurant, and if inside is a lovely refuge in any weather. Service is good, servers are pleasant and multilingual. Great coffee, lovely sandwiches but what we enjoyed most of all was the meatballs in gravy. Tasty and rich gravy along with a mustard mayo and pickle. Other dishes being served around us looked just as good. Restaurant also has a well stocked pub.

Echt vriendelijk personeel! Het eten kwam vrij snel en zelfs onze hond kreeg water! Het eten van iedereen miste een beetje zout, maar dat kun je achteraf zelf op smaak brengen. Als je bedenkt dat het midden in het centrum ligt, zijn de prijzen hier ook relatief redelijk. We zouden hier zeker nog eens komen!

This is a really nice place to eat. It has a beautiful view of the canal right outside and a flower market is literally just right across the bridge. You can eat outside or in and it’s a very big place to eat. It’s also convenient because it’s inside a shopping centre. I had the toasted sandwich and Chocomel and it was delicious !!! The waitress was really nice and friendly and as someone who is Irish I’ve never tried Chocomel before so going here and trying it was my first time. It was delicious :) The next time I go to Amsterdam I’d like to go back here !!!
