Restaurant V O L T in Nieuwe Pijp

First time for dinner at Volt - really good ambiance, fun team, good wines, delicious food - we had the cod in miso sauce and the steak - and then the cheesecake and crème brûlée - will definitely go again!

Had a few drinks here yesterday. Lovely place. And what great staff!

The staff is so friendly and attentive, and the vibe is always just great. Love the drinks and the starters. Me and my friend were honestly underwhelmed by the main courses but it was a lovely evening

We had a delicious meal at Volt and received a warm welcome. It wasn't crowded inside (though it was outside), so we were able to linger and chat for a while. The service was exceptionally friendly.

Mistakes happen... I spilled two beers on myself and got soaking wet. It's a warm evening, so it's okay, but the difference lies in the solution. A shot of salmari is offered... but that doesn't make up for the fact that the evening ends here after a beer shower. We try to fix it, but have to deal with it ourselves. When we bring it up ourselves, we're accused of overreacting. The manager or owner comes to his employee's defense and sends us off the terrace; apparently, she was very shocked. I can understand that, because with 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I've never spilled two full glasses on someone. I would be mortified and do everything I could to fix it, but I shouldn't have been so difficult, because it will dry up again anyway... What the manager did is completely a mystery. He's trying to make us feel guilty. My goodness, I think you've chosen the wrong industry. The evening is over for us because my dress won't dry in the next two hours, let alone the beer fumes that hang around me. I tried to make the staff understand my situation, but I mainly had to understand that you can make a mistake. Funny enough, we do, even when you're given such a large amount, as long as it's resolved properly. The manager was completely incomprehensible. Usually, you start with a question like "what happened," after which you talk things out, but no, we were wrong. You should have known what this evening meant to me; maybe then you'd understand why we reacted the way we did, but no, you were busy defending yourselves. I think I should be grateful that I didn't have to pay for this experience. Well, thank you, and I hope I never have to experience it again. I'm curious to know how much you think it was worth!

Beers are much cheaper than elsewhere. The waitresses are super cool. Not much to eat, though, except peanuts. A little far from the casino

This place was nice. The food was good, not too much, but enough. Lovely terrace to sit out amid the city bustling around. We stumbled into this and it was nice. Constant crowd for lunch on a Saturday afternoon.

We arrived too early for dinner (kitchen opens at 5:30 for dinner), so ordered some snacks instead and the Tom Kha Gai Mayo that is served with the Asian Chicken Cigars blew my mind. So good.

What a wonderful surprise! Very friendly service, a select crowd, a great soundtrack, and delicious food. Highly recommended. We went on a Monday, and it was relatively quiet. Definitely a tasteful place.

Good wine, very nice and good service, tasty snacks, and the only time I ate there: really bad food. Update August 2021: nice wine, very nice terrace, good service - but how can you take the flatbread tapa off the menu?? It is (was) the tastiest thing I have ever eaten with you. What a downer. For the rest, almost only deep fryers. I am forced to find another place to have a drink and something to eat. Such a shame! Update 2025: what a very bad and expensive wine! 7.50 for a glass of nothing to drink. You can buy something better in a supermarket for 5 to 6 euros.

You can expect a nice glass of wine for 7.50, right? Let stand after tasting. What a mess, people. Weird.

We really liked this place. Our favorites were The duck sprig rolls, the chicken cigar thingys, flank steak and the burger. I had the meat burger and it was deeelicious. Vibe is cool, became cooler as the night went on. Staff was friendly and nice. Would recommend. Patio is cool, bring a jacket can get cold. We sat inside and it was nice.

Great atmosphere for a glass of wine in the afternoon however the baked camembert was a bit too soupy especially for the small amount of bread given

Only had drinks here but wow - vibe was great and the people watching as well. I really liked the espresso martini.

Volt has been on my corner for years but had never eaten there... now with super sweet company and it was great!!! And very sweet service too, Loetje could learn something from it! Update 2024: I have not yet been to the 'refurbished' Volt after the fire... but I trust that nothing has changed yet: I always see people enjoying it there

Three very nice courses on a warm September evening on the street. Would I pay from my own pocket? Yes. The black ravioli filled with scallops was a very tasty starter, every so slightly to firm but still loved the freshness of the broth. The three pork servings were all good, the highlight were the arancini and ribs - both of which I would have happily have had a plate of each. The passion fruit desert was lovely and light. Coffee was perfect for me, thick and strong.

Very nice restaurant and overall legit place for coffee, drinks and food - especially for us who live in the neighborhood. Highly recommend and worth a visit, mainly because it has a nice, calm atmosphere. The menu could have been renewed or at least slightly renewed as it’s the same for the past 4 years.

Really good place for brunch. Food wise : I’ve got the Benedict egg, and it was very tasty with a fluffy toast bread. Fries a bit too big to my taste. And the avocado toast was really good as well. Love the fact they had lots of non-alcoholic beers ! Service wise : all good, nothing to say. I do recommend a lot.

Phenomenal food in a stylish and comfy environment. The strawberry trifle is worth travelling for.

I’ve been in Europe for 3 years and I can say this was the best burger I’ve ever had, first one to not fall apart when I bite into it. Solid food worth the money.

While we were going to another bar, we have accidentally explored this place and dropped by. Servers were very welcoming and friendly ☺️ The place is also quite spacious compared to many other bars in Amsterdam. Espresso Martini was the best one I tried amongst other places I have been. It was made out of fresh coffee instead of a coffee liqueur. That was definitely the highlight. Nice and cool place to hang out with friends or a date!

This is my favorite restaurant in De Pijp (actually all of Amsterdam). The atmosphere is pleasant, employees attentive and hospitable, the menu versatile and the room quiet and pleasant. This is the restaurant I always recommend!

From a formal restaurant Volt is transformed into a cost gastrobar style cafe and restaurant. I think it's a spot for drinks, dinner or a small bite at this side of the Ceintuurbaan. The interior design at Volt is warm and cosy. A mix of vintage and industrial.

What a wonderful restaurant! Had dinner here on Saturday evening during a weekend away with my mother. We were 45 minutes early for our reservation, but this was no problem. The food was delicious and the pace of service was perfect. We will definitely come back here again!

I've been living in the pipe for more than 30 years, recently came in around closing time, although I was bullied away for a drink, maybe because I looked different from the average tatta 😂😂😂😂. It made me laugh so I'm going to visit again today 😎. Get your chest wet because I'm coming 😁😁😁

In the heart center of the de Pijp you will find this restaurant that has so much potentials. Food menu is rich and it has main dishes that serves all tastes. The presentation of the plates are super and taste is on point. I loved their wine selections that comes from different regions. Service is super good and the staff are very friendly.

Nice place in the de pijp area. We had decent nice wine and beers. However, after paying, we were asked to leave even though our glasses were still full. The excuse was that there would be more people coming.... We were only there for 1 hour in total and we were sitting at the bar area. Completely ridiculous.... Don't go there!

Een prima buurtrestaurant in de pijp. Vlotte bediening. Adequate maaltijd. Normale prijzen. Iets om vaker langs te gaan.

We sat outside and had a very nice time. We ordered negronis, Aperol spritzes and a round of oysters. It's such a gorgeous location with plenty of outdoor seating. I'd imagine it gets super busy at night, but midday, we had no issues. Oysters were perfectly shucked. We'll be coming again soon!

So happy to be back at VOLT after it recently reopened. One of my favourite eating/drinking/chilling haunts with a great menu, staff and location - even more perfect on days like today! Do yourself a favour and pay them a visit. You will NOT be disappointed 😎👍

Lekker gegeten en hele fijne service die nog eens werd onderstreept aan het einde, toen ze me achterna kwamen rennen met m'n vergeten zonnebril.

Een hele fijn avond gehad bij Volt. Super fijne bediening (wat niet overal in Adam vanzelfsprekend meer is), een kleine maar uitstekende kaart ook. Kom hier zeker terug!!

Ja!!! We mochten na bijna een jaar weer 'Volten'. Wat blijft het toch een heerlijke tent. Lekker eten, leuke bediening en de nieuwe inrichting is prachtig geworden!!! De oesters waren top. Vis heerlijk bereid en met dit weer de rosé uit de Provence zeker een aanrader ;) Komen snel weer buurten!!!

Of je nou voor het eten komt, de service of de sfeer. Het maakt niet uit, want je vindt het hier ALLEMAAL bij Restaurant Volt. Heerlijk eten bediend door professioneel, maar vooral vriendelijk en geïnteresseerd personeel. En het interieur....Wow. Je kijkt je ogen uit. Kortom een echte aanrader in hartje De Pijp Amsterdam.

Van de week gegeten bij Volt. Het eten en de ambiance was perfect! Vooral de buikspek is zeker aan te raden!
