What a delicious meal we had here! We sat here quite spontaneously (everywhere was full outside). We ordered a few dishes and they were surprisingly good. The portions are very generous!! Never seen before in Amsterdam. And you can eat the best calamari in Amsterdam here!!! 100%

Nice restaurant in Amsterdam! The employees of Brut de mer are very nice and professional. The dishes were tasty and ideal for sharing. We really liked the lobster bisque, the langoustines and the tonnato vitello were also good. All in all highly recommended.

Had dinner here tonight with a group of 12 people. We got a nice table and ate several dishes from the menu. The tonnato vitello and the fruits de mer platters were especially delicious. Friendly and knowledgeable service!

Have actually just finished the main course and desert is coming but couldn't wait to review. Delicious sea bass ceviche as a starter, perfect taste, perfect vinegraite. Main course whole brill grilled with beurre blanc and small capers. Service super atmosphere good. I wonder what dessert will be....but I'm already looking forward to it.

Bizarrely delicious food here. After eating here for the first time, I can already say that this is my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. We like to stay in Spain because of the seafood dishes, but here you can eat that too and perhaps even better. Super creative pulpo, really tasty! Oysters also great! Amazing seafood with a great vibe. Make sure to make a reservation in advance because it’s a bit small in there. Everything on the menu is for sharing, and they were all so good and fresh. The oysters came from all over (French, Portuguese and Dutch). There is a bit of wait for food, so just be sure to not have plans immediately after!

I thought this place was way too busy. Price quality not okay. Too expensive for what you get. Pretty tasteless. Except for the oysters. Those were delicious. But yes, that is a matter of good purchasing and not about good cooking. They were 5 euros each.

For me they are the best Oyster place in Amsterdam. Good varieties, decent price, nice offers. In addition, cute place, cozy outdoor seating and friendly staffs! They also have other seafood if you are not a big fan for Oyster. Price is not cheap, but once you have it, you know what you pay for and it totally worth it.

A place of exceptional pleasure for connoisseurs. Highest quality small but best seafood leaf. 6 types of oysters, each better than the other, already perfect. Razor clams, langoustines, scallops, crabs, vongole, etc. It is the quality of the ingredients that is a delight; they are chosen from the best of the best. All preparation with maximum preservation of the taste of the main ingredient, no dominance of unhealthy sauces, sugars and frying. Excellent selection of wines (eg Chablis by the glass). The desserts are also chosen very professionally, literally producing fireworks of happiness for the taste buds with their final accent. The service is attentive and even touching. We tried several upscale restaurants in Amsterdam, but this one will definitely become our favorite.

My friend and I are on holiday and decided to try this fish restaurant; what can I say, exquisite food of excellent quality (I rarely eat fish but this was EXCEPTIONAL), very kind and professional waiter, I compliment all the restaurant staff, especially the chef, I hope to return soon.

Just eat oysters. The rest is substandard. Especially when it comes to cooking something or adding sauce, it makes me wonder if the chef doesn't even have the basics. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is that the raw oysters were delicious and the staff were really friendly and nice.

The oysters were one of the best we had lately. Except the fried potatoes which were cut into very small tiny pieces, everything else we had was delicious and the servis was super friendly. I would come here again.

La única razón por la que no le dimos a este lugar un 5 es por el servicio. La cocina era caótica y el servicio estaba claramente muy estresado. Pedimos ostras antes de nuestra red, y esperamos más de una hora hasta que finalmente las cancelamos y simplemente fuimos directamente a la comida caliente. Así que era más de 1. Cinco horas antes de que nos dieran comida, que es pobre. También pedimos que se quitara el chorizo de uno de los platos que no hicieron dos veces. Por lo tanto, la comida y el ambiente genial, el servicio y la comunicación no tan grande.

Atmospheric and friendly staff!

It was ten out of ten for sure. Lobster soup was the best that I ever had. They have variety options of fresh oysters from different regions. I fell in love with spaghetti vongole which was so creamy and with a little touch of garlic, they sent me to a different universe. All seafood was super fresh.

Zeer slechte ervaring, eten werd koud geserveerd, personeel was alleen met zichzelf bezig. Ik denk de kok ook, eerst 1 hoofdgerecht van de twee, toen de patat en na 10 minuten het hoofdgerecht voor mijn partner. Al met al, hier ga ik niet meer naar toe.

We started our lunch on the terrace, enjoying a glass of bubbly, but when the rain started pouring, we moved indoors. Inside, we found a cozy atmosphere and charming design. The food was delicious, and our waitress was very friendly.

We had dinner at a busy Saturday night, there was only bar table available. The fish, salads, oysters were so so good! The bar tender is a master of cutting oysters - they didn’t even wear gloves to do the job and I was a little worried that they might hurt their hands however I believe they know their job :)

This is the first time I change a review. 2 years ago I said it was 5 starts and recommended it to several people. I’m sad to say this is not the case anymore. The dishes got smaller and the taste wasn’t as good. The steak tartare was served Roth bone marrow (to be fair, it was really good), but no bread. Razor clams didn’t have much taste. Service was good, but price-benefit is low and I don’t plan to go back there again.

We had reserved a table outside because we wanted to bring our dog. Unfortunately it turned out to be too cold to sit outside that day. A table had just become available inside where we could sit with our dog, which we were happy with. Then ordered the langoustines, mussels, razor clams and ravioli and a glass of wine per person. Dishes were all good, with a preference for the mussels. The wine (€10 per glass) was tasty, but priced just a bit too high. All in all a nice restaurant with friendly staff and tasty food.

We were seated at the bar area as this place is super popular but we didn’t feel uncomfortable and actually finished dinner after almost 3 hours. Not knowing much about oysters and we seldom eat them, the “oysterman” in the restaurant was super helpful and the oysters were amazing we got to try them from different origins and eat in different ways according to the oysterman. The exhaustive list of seafood selection enriched our culinary experience tonight. We even tried langoustine and razor clams which we don’t find many in Sydney. The staff were all so friendly. Amazing funny and fruitful chat with this oysterman. This is going to be an unforgettable dining experience for a long while.

This place is like roller-coaster.at the begin everything goes well(oysters and cocktail were fine)but when is come to hot foods(mussels and lobster soup) you need to wait an hour until is arrive on your table. Mussels dish taste were super blend with uncooked vegetables inside and lobster soup extremely salty) Unfortunately no return to this place despite friendly waiters only!

Lobster bisque was divine! The oysters were meaty and the fish was fresh. We got the outside table which was a bit shaky but otherwise ok. Didn't particularly like the crab ravioli which was a little rubbery. The steak tartare also wasn't anything to shout about, but I blame myself for ordering a meat dish at a seafood restaurant

Small is beautiful…. Lovely living room seafood restaurant, because it doesn't get any bigger. A fine dinner and wine menu with more than enough choice. We were allowed to do it this evening with, among other things, the vongole, mussels and razor clams. DELICIOUS!! Try to reserve in time and try to get a table if there are more than 2 people. I say go for it!!

Cosy seafood restaurant in the heart of De Pijp. Friendly staff and delicious options for both food and wine. Would definitely recommend the scallops, the vongole and the crab. Most of the dishes are small ones to share. Hence, the ideal place to come with 2 to 4 people who love seafood! Reservations are required, because this place is very popular and almost always fully booked

Super frut de mer schotel hoor gegeten. Bediening was super en me denkend. Eten was dik op orde, leuk klein tentje.

Alles wat we er hebben gegeten was heerlijk. Alleen de ceviche was vrij vlak van smaak. Daar had een sterker zuurtje in mogen zitten. De bediening was heel relaxed. Een de locatie achter de Albert Cuijp is natuurlijk heel gaaf. Oh ja, het is niet goedkoop...

I love this place, sitting outside, facing a sweet square, people watching, cosy tables and chairs, fresh flowers on the tables. Great caring service from all staff, freshest oysters (on the day minimum 6 types available, few types of French, Irish, even Dutch). Herring on toast with beetroot, pickled onion and cucumber, a thing of beauty. Muscles with lovage & leek w touch of cumin & turmeric, just yum, with fresh crusty baguette. Perfect stop after adventures at Amsterdam gem that is Albert Cuypmarkt market (not to be missed on a trip to Amsterdam).

Het eten was echt heerlijk! Bediening was ook super vriendelijk. Echt meer dan de moeite waard. Ik vond alleen dat het echt heel weinig mosselen waren in verhouding met de prijs… dat zou ik zelf echt anders hebben gedaan.

Our server was friendly but there simply wasn’t enough staff and it really soured our experience. Lovely oysters but nothing else really seemed worth the cost due to our experience. Jammer... weer een plek in Amsterdam die we kunnen doorstrepen. Glaasje rosé champagne van de fles van gisteren. Gestart met oesters, die waren helemaal prima. Daarna lunch op basis shared dining. Het duurde 60 minuten eer onze 4 blaadjes ravioli en 5 venusschelpjes ten tonele kwamen terwijl er echt weinig tafels bezet waren. Onderwijl was de fles wijn al leeg.... dat tafelt niet fijn. Er werd ons geadviseerd niet te veel te bestellen. Hadden we daar maar niet naar geluisterd, porties waren echt heel sumier. Weer een zaak die ergens along the way de spirit/ eigenaar met hart heeft verloren.

Heerlijk gegeten en super fijne bediening door Eva. We komen zeker terug.

Vandaag met 3 personen wezen eten bij Brut de mer. Ik was geprikkeld door de daverende recenties en heb daar misschien té blind op vertrouwd. Wat ging er goed: Het meisje dat ons bediende was lief (als ze er dan was) en de waanzinnige Ierse oester. Voor de rest: Ik weet niet of dit gewoon een slechte avond was maar als je voor 262 euro eet voor 3 personen vind ik best dat je wel wat mag verwachten. Het niveau van het eten was OK, maar als je 1 uur en drie kwartier moet wachten op een hoofdgerercht én moet smeken om oogcontact voor een glaasje water, dan is dat echt onder de maat. De tent was geen eens vol, genoeg lege tafels naast ons! De lobsterrol voor weggeteld 36 euro bleek een summier belegd bolletje met een paar mini stukjes slieterige kreeft - ik vind dat bijna oplichterij. 36 euro? Echt niet OK! Het tempo van serveren was ontzettend sloom. Wij moesten tot 3x toe vragen voor een kaart of nog wat te drinken, "Ja dat komt er aan." Werd ons dan verteld. Maarja, niet dus! Als kers op de taart hadden wij de hele avond uitzicht op de (ik denk de) manager die vrolijk met zijn vriendje wijn zat te drinken op 20m van ons vandaan, terwijl zijn personeel druk bezig was. Prima om even een kleine pauze te nemen, maar als je personeel (keuken en bediening) het duidelijk niet redt, vind ik dat gewoon aso. Kortom, het eten was prima, maar als je zulke bedragen vraagt voor je eten, dan kan - en moet de bediening, het tempo en de versheid van je vis, écht beter. Concluderend, ik kan mij echt niet vinden in de bovenstaande recenties en raad deze tent dan ook echt af! Zonde van je geld.

Elk jaar een beetje minder…Wat ooit vers, crispy en smaakvol was, is nu doorgekookt, zuur, of gewoon koud geserveerd. Dit was de laatste keer dat ik hier ga eten..

Wij waren op de goede reviews afgegaan maar helaas heb ik hier echt heel matig gegeten. De smaken waren flets, zonder verfijning. Bediening was wel goed en vriendelijk. Helaas is uiteindelijk de prijs-kwaliteit verhouding niet in balans.
