Bunk Restaurant Utrecht in Wijk 06 Binnenstad

I can't rate the food because I didn't have lunch or dinner there, I wouldn't have been able to. I "just" slept there. Super noisy restaurant, it made me feel at home, like at the town festivals. But for that you don't need to travel. I was looking for tranquility. Clearly, my mistake. I won't be back. Maybe 30 years younger...

Cod was cooked well, dessert was a bit on the dry side.

What a fantastic location. I was allowed to stay here for two days. Food was great, nice wines and beers, good room and top service from the staff. Thanks Louka.

I recently had dinner here with friends and unfortunately I am really not satisfied. The portions are very small so you leave hungry, even for someone who is not a big eater. The food was not tasty and the price charged for it was out of proportion. I also didn't like being served by someone wearing a navel sweater/crop top, the staff was very curt which shocked us. Location beautiful, but I don't recommend eating here.

Portions incredibly small for way too much money! If you choose the Dorade as a main course, you only get a half-flattened piece of fish with a bite of beetroot. Zero side dishes: price €22.50. Very sad. I have never eaten three toasted sandwiches after a dinner at home, but after this meal it was really necessary. The staff consists of half-bared foreign girls who don't speak a word of Dutch and snatch your plate and glass from under your nose when it's not even empty. Not worth repeating!!

This place is really next level nice! Good food and drinks, a nice and surprising menu and attentive service. The entourage really makes it. We will definitely go back!

I ate here with someone. The ambiance is good and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The starters were still reasonable but didn't really taste fresh or special. The "grilled pepper" seemed straight out of a jar. The main course cauliflower tasted like boiled cauliflower, and was mainly a whole bunch...: cauliflower on a plate. No herbs or anything else. My dining partner's sea bream was tough and the beet leaf salad was just very salty. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat here. Too bad for the staff, because that's really not the fault.

Beautiful location in an old church, in the center of Utrecht. Very friendly service and original menu, with sufficient vegetarian choice.

Iglesia bien reutilizada (el Westerkerk). Lugar muy ocupado. Servicio amable y bastante rápido. Comida interesante pero muy pequeñas porciones. Lamentablemente, mi pechuga de ternera fue servida bastante fría.

Para nuestro almuerzo comunitario de 10 personas, estaba buscando un acogedor café o restaurante con un fácil viaje, política de precios abiertos (sin costos de reserva adicionales o requisitos para los pedidos) y personal amable. Bunk proporcionó todas estas cualidades! Además, la singularidad del valor motivó a las personas a viajar desde otras ciudades. La próxima vez me encantaría pasar la noche en su albergue : )

I am so happy that I found this place! For our community lunch of 10 people, I was looking for a cozy cafe or restaurant with an easy commute, open price policy (without additional reservation costs or requirements for orders), and friendly staff. Bunk provided all of these qualities! Moreover, the uniqueness of the value motivated people to travel from other cities. Next time I would love to stay overnight in their hostel :)

Upon arrival, the young waiter immediately asked to order paid water (even before the drinks order itself was taken). That question came again later, as did the question whether we wanted bread for the starter. Waited a long time for the drink (10.50 v 0.44l blond beer, which is not 0.44) and the option to order food. Quite a limited choice of main courses. When asked to order the same starter twice instead of 1 main course, we received 2 plates with 1 starter. An incorrect drink was taken / order was delivered (we were allowed to drink the extra drink for free). And the food itself was okay, nothing more than that. The gnocchi with pumpkin and mushrooms was fine in texture, mediocre in temperature and poor in taste (some good spices would do wonders). We skipped dessert. The atmosphere? Quite pleasant. Full house, everyone seems to think it's all fine.

Had a lovely breakfast on Valentine's Day. Friendly welcome, fast service in a relaxed atmosphere. Nice choice on the kart, also for breakfast. Recommended.

Estábamos bastante decepcionados con la comida en Bunk. El menú presentaba principalmente comida compartida, que nos parece un concepto obsoleto que beneficia principalmente al restaurante económicamente. Por lo tanto, preferimos pedir un plato principal regular. Sin embargo, no había muchas opciones disponibles. Los platos que pedimos llegaron en cinco minutos, pero la calidad y el tamaño de las porciones fueron muy decepcionantes. Compartimos nuestra opinión con el personal, pero simplemente lo reconocieron sin ninguna otra respuesta o esfuerzo para abordar nuestras preocupaciones. Por tres bebidas y tres platos principales mínimos, terminamos pagando casi 100 €. Nos sentimos estafados y decidimos irnos inmediatamente. Lo siento, Bunk, pero esta fue nuestra última visita.

Delicious food, deliciously different. And of course the place is fantastic, good atmosphere. Friendly, knowledgeable service. Very nice.

Normally don't place reviews, but this place is great. Not only do they have super sweet staff, good coffee, nice food BUT THEY ALSO HAVE A CAT. It is the cutest most cuddly little furball ever and petting him brings us all a little more inner peace.

Gezellig restaurant, originele iinrichting. Niet aanbevolen. De Dorade. Veel te zout, jammer. De bijgaande groeten, rood, bieten en rode kool?? Gewoon onsmakelijk. Lange zeewierachtige 'draden', niet door te kauwen. Heel vreemde smaak en zeer peperig. Leek iets gefermenteerds? Echt een teleurstelling. Heb dus alleen visje gegeten. Geen compensatie aanbod.

The food was delicious. I had beef stew with carrots, among other things. But I thought it was a bit pricey for what you got. Not such a large quantity and no side dish.

This is a very nice restaurant/hotel. We went as a big group. I live that there are less options ın the menu which means usually that the food will be good, which it was. Really delicious. I ordered grilled cauliflower which was amazing. The only problem was that even though my friend said no mushrooms in the gnocchi, they still brought it with the mushrooms and she couldn't eat it. Other than that everything was great!

Nice restaurant. We came here for lunch, tables were a bit tight but fine. The lunch was tasty, but 1 slice of bread is a bit meager for what you pay. The service was very friendly and attentive :)

Very laptop friendly and a nice place to sit and get some work done! I got excited when I saw a chai latte on the menu. At the price of 6 euros (which is a lot) I think anyone would have assumed it would have been an actual chai (concentrate) instead of a packet. But sadly that wasn’t the case (and it really isn’t good). Learned my lesson though :) I will always ask now before ordering a chai latte.

Impressive interieur combining old and modern design. Tables close to eachother facilitate interaction with neighbours. Food is original but overpriced for the portions you get. Most expensive beers I ever ordered. Be prepared to speak English to the staff.

Great location. Good distribution of workplaces, dining areas. Also in use as a hotel. Nice work with panels. It's just a shame that the beautiful organ is now almost completely out of sight. Nice breakfast well taken care of.

Had a wonderful lunch with our team in this beautiful restaurant that used to be a church. Completely renovated, church benches are now wall coverings and the church organ is still there. Friendly service that is willing to tell you about the building - and the food:-).

This was a venue I looked at staying before our planned trip to Utrecht. As you can imagine, a former church provides many nooks and points of interest. The decor and lighting make it a super spot for a bite to eat and a beer. It seemed popular with the local dating crowd. Reservation recommended.

Inside the Bunk hotel, which used to be a church, the atmosphere is very unique. The staff is super friendly and options for food, drinks, and cocktails are very decent. Try the signature cocktails!

Don't really understand the good reviews, had a Nordic bowl. Could also pick that from the garden. Was incomprehensible and too simple. Received dirty cutlery. Staff staring at you. Stupid of me to fall for this. I saw a tasty dish and I indicated that I wanted it. The employee says "yes, that is food from the day before yesterday, we are still eating it, it looks tasty but it is not"😂😂

The restaurant looks very nice. Acoustics could be better, quite noisy. This is also not optimal due to sharing the tables, often we could not understand the explanation about the food. Service not always attentive, but very friendly and correct. The starter with fennel was very tasty but the fennel was not really present in the taste. As a main course the "grilled" cauliflower, which was not very grilled, more boiled to death. You got a plate full of cauliflower with little taste that you could gulp down, which is fine if you have no teeth... It really wasn't tasty, too bad!

The stew was tasty, but the grilled cauliflower was a boiled vegetable and had nothing to do with grilling. Very unfortunate. Service was excellent and the location beautiful, but you share the table with strangers, which makes it difficult to understand each other.

Great atmosphere! However, did not enjoy my Moscow Mule. It tasted like lemonade. I hope they will change the recipe in the future :)

We had a very nice lunch here and the food is fine but nut superb. The egg benedict was on top of a slightly less quality bread/toast but the egg, salmon and avocado were good. My wife (Javanese) had bread with rendang but it missed the Asian flavour. The peas soup was really nice. The place is worth the visit.

Lovely place with great food a extraordinary service (and a cat!) We were there in October and felt slightly cold though, so maybe bring a small jacket. But otherwise the ambiente is extraordinary!

Bunk was always one of my favorite restaurants! Yesterday I proudly took my family with me, but it was so disappointing! The entire menu has changed...almost everything is vegan. We went for the only meat dish, stew with carrot. This was really NOT edible. The meat was tough, the carrot stew very tasteless. And it was also a mini plate... for 22 euros! All 3 of us didn't like it and still had an empty stomach! Then ordered 1 more dessert, lets try it. Received another mini mini dessert for 11 euros. 2 mini slices of cake, it was salty and dry. Not to eat! I sent this back and luckily it was taken off the bill. The staff was really nice...and the atmosphere is nice. But...such small portions, not good quality, flavors that have nothing special and then also increase the prices by 35%. Very unfortunate! This is no longer a concept that appeals to me.

Gorgeous ! I didn't eat there. But the place is magnificent. A very beautiful demonstration of successful, avant-garde interior architecture, where space management is optimal, while maintaining the interior integrity of the building, its central open space, Wow!

I have eaten at Bunk quite a few times. The food tastes really good. They used to say the portions were small, but for me, a small eater it was perfect. Now a few months later things have changed, only veggy and vegan and fish in the menu. Portions even smaller, no more veggies, no side dishes. Prices have gone up a lot (over 30%). So not an option anymore. I do not mind paying a lot if the price and quality are balanced. The food tastes good, but it is just a bite. I had to get a snack after diner. It is not cheap, so no. Price-quality was not balanced anymore. I would like to give two stars because I feel ripped of, but the raste an quality urges me to givec3. But I would suggest to eat elsewhere until the nenu is up to a good standard again

Nice atmosphere and cool building! Granola bowl was good. Pay extra for vegan, minus. The pancakes were cold, the chocolate was chocolate spread. A bit of a disappointment.

Super leuke en gave plek. Het ziet er al super leuk uit en je kunt elkaar goed verstaan. Goede bediening. We hebben met de groep alle voorgerechten gehad en alle nagerechten. Die waren allemaal heel erg lekker. Natuurlijk heb je je voorkeur, maar we waren allemaal zeer tevreden met dit bezoekje. Dank je wel Bunk, tot de volgende keer!

Exciting dishes, well executed!

Food was just mediocre, service was nice and the atmosphere is really nice in a great location.

The location is cool, service was nice and timely, food was inventive and beautiful if a bit smaller than anticipated. Our main gripe is we made a dinner reservation and were seated in a corner of a high table way at the back, we were hidden from the rest of the room by the elevator and the organ above, couldn't enjoy much of the atmosfeer and felt a bit too warm (it was really a dead air corner). I think I would try it again, but would make sure to ask for a regular height table when booking.

Avevo letto di questo posto cercando dei ristoranti particolari. Ce ne sono due, uno ad Amsterdam e uno ad Utrecht dove siamo stati noi. Posto super! Locale curato nei dettagli. Quello che ha entusiasmato noi è il mood e la filosofia del posto, ottime vibrazioni! È in una chiesa dove puoi dormire, perché ci sono camere e pod, lavorare in uno spazio coworking e mangiare mentre guardi opere di vari artisti locali. Organizzano anche eventi in vari giorni e momenti della giornata, la locandina degli eventi è esposta in bagno.😂 Il cibo poi è davvero ottimo. Andate a curiosare sul loro sito, è fatto molto bene e spiega la loro filosofia. Noi torneremo sicuramente!

Nous dormions dans cet hôtel atypique. Accueil très gentil au global. Carte du restaurant réduite, mais c’est plutôt bon signe, et les plats sont excellents. Beau choix de cocktails aussi. Point d’amélioration, le tarif est un peu élevé!

Très bel endroit, cette ancienne église restaurée en hôtel restaurant mérite doublement le détour. La déco baroque tout d abord et les plats recherchés et quelque part gastronomiques. Nous avons adoré l humus a la pistache et son yahourt citron vert, mon plat chou fleurs,poireaux, pois chiche et travers de porc était très subtil en parfum et assaisonnement. Les gnocchis au beurre de sauge, betterave et lanières de steak étaient très réussi. Les serveurs très sympa et expliquant chacun des plats était un plus.

Wat een super mooie locatie! Echt heel erg tof gedaan. We hebben de heerlijkste vegetarische bowls gegeten. Alle ingrediënten waren mooi op smaak! Bediening en met name de WC meneer was erg vriendelijk. Enige minpuntje: de akoestiek. Niet prettig.

We enjoyed the fresh food with great flavor combinations in a unique setting. Good price-quality ratio. Service was incredibly friendly and cooperative, dishes were adjusted so that, despite a garlic allergy, I could still have a dish that I wanted. After dinner we forgot a bag and someone from the service ran behind us to give it to us, thank you so much to Luca for your friendly and helpful attitude both during and after our dinner!

Simply terrible food. The names sound nice, but in reality, they bring you a bun stuffed with cucumbers and ham, and lasagna that consists merely of lasagna sheets with ketchup and four inedible shrimp on top. And it's just absurd—they bring dirty candies that someone has touched with the check. I do not recommend it.

Food was very disappointing, ordered sea bass and received 2 mini pieces of sea bass on undefined vegetables. The ordered starter with shrimps, I received 4 unpeeled fried shrimps, which I could not eat

I like the principle of cells in shared dormitories, even though I'm 60 years old, but I didn't like this one: everything costs extra, even the locker to store your belongings, tourist tax not included , and various other costs. This is not the case with other dorms I have visited.

Very good vegetarian hotel - high priced

The place is very original due to its history and decoration. It is very well decorated and very nice indeed. For the restaurant I recommend booking although on weekdays it is not strictly necessary. The food has a medium "fancy" touch but is very delicious. The drinks, with or without alcohol, are also very good. and the attention is excellent.

Had a nice lunch on Sunday afternoon, the place was almost full, we were warmly welcomed but we did have a table with other people. The acoustics make it difficult to hear each other, especially when there are 2 people sitting at the table. Friendly service, attentive and prompt, and...., nice non-standard menu. Dishes were beautifully presented and original, but the temperature could have been warmer!

Beautiful location BUT the food is just overpriced for the quality. We had dinner and breakfast and both meals were cold. We could see the food standing under the heater in the kitchen for ages. We paid like 23€ for gnocchi that were cold and tasted like nothing, really sad. The starters were very delicious though. Same was for the breakfast, we had eggs Benedicts which were cold and prepared without any effort.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast before heading to the mall. Service was good and breakfast was good as well and well priced. Place looks quite nice inside.

Had a delicious meal at Bunk. I am very surprised by the creative flavor combinations in each dish (the brownie with olive oil was great!). Good wine and coffee too. Compliments to the friendly and knowledgeable staff who served us tonight. I'll definitely return!

Incredibly expensive for what you get

This is one of my favourite places in Utrecht. The food is delicious, the drinks are great and the staff is extremely nice and helpful.
