A lovely spot for a cup of coffee or tea, and perhaps a meal. The restaurant is housed in the former peat colony museum, which previously housed the Veendam and Wildervank library (1913-1963). I only had tea there, so I can't comment on the food. The waitress was very friendly.

We stopped by here for lunch. The food was relatively inexpensive and delicious. The burrata sandwich was also very good.

I had a mojito. The menu said it was €7.50. I asked if it could be a bit stronger. When I went to pay, I was told the price was €12.70. No, sir, the price is higher because you wanted something a bit stronger. Why didn't I get an explanation for the price difference?

Good food for a good price! Only downside is that smoking is allowed on the terrace. Personally I find that annoying. Otherwise a great place!

Brie sandwich was very sweet due to too much honey.

Had a delicious heavenly hazel coffee with a meringue bun. Both are highly recommended. It's just wonderful to relax here and enjoy a snack and a drink.

Our favorite lunchroom in Veendam. Delicious food, good prices, cozy atmosphere, great service. You can also sit outside with a view of the fountain on one side and the town hall on the other. I recently went again and the new addition to the "little bit of everything" menu is highly recommended. The bottle for our baby was also heated without any problem. Nice people!

Had a delicious mango wedge with the cappuccino deluxe. It took a while before the order was taken, but the lady who helped us was extremely friendly. Nice tent, but I found one downside, and that is personal of course, the lighting was just too bright, so the coziness it radiates did not come across well. Unfortunately I missed a good extraction because our clothes smelled like all the goodies they have.

Lactose intolerance friendliest💖 We wanted to eat something and went to Bij Kielman and asked upon arrival if there was plant-based milk for coffee. Yes, soy milk (even; most suitable for my diet). Yoohee! Then I looked at the menu for something without lactose and the waitress who had previously answered the milk question came. I asked her about lactose-free food. She said: you can combine whatever you want, I also have lactose intolerance. So nice! She gave very knowledgeable and patient advice. Moving! The coffee came with a piece of oliebol. I asked another waitress if there was lactose in the oliebol. She went to ask her lactose intolerant colleague 😅 The motto was not to eat. The waitress took the oliebol back and surprisingly came back with a waffle. (A cookie that is traditionally baked here in Groningen with O&N. I knew that, but I'm not from here and had never eaten it.) She said: my colleague told me to bring that because it is lactose-free🫠🥰 How sweet!!! Besides all this, the business itself is warmly decorated and welcoming. Upon entering, our taste buds were pleasantly stimulated with a view of the display cases with colorful cakes and a variety of chocolates. The sandwiches we had tasted deliciously rich. All in all, highly recommended, especially for people with lactose intolerance.

Only the pastries were disappointing. A meringue cake was more like cream, actually dirty and therefore not eaten. Everything else is great!

I wrote this review 4 years ago: Go here and enjoy what you order. That's the only good advice!!! Lots of choice, carefully prepared dishes. Cozy place with nice employees. If you're going for a quick snack, you should go somewhere else. I like it here!!! STILL ROCKS!!!

Enjoyed a delicious high tea today. The service is smooth and friendly. Nicely decorated, but everything is very close together; you almost sit on each other's laps and it is really noisy when it's busy. I personally thought the scones were too salty, but the rest of the high tea was really delicious!

Nice place and cozy although small, the building opposite needs better. But it looks nice and the food is delicious.

Too much sauce on the ham baguette

Delicious food, but had to wait a long time for order. Service is good. Unfortunately I can't give 5 stars. I come because there is a lot of smoking. I don't understand how this is still allowed today. Literally left with burning eyes. I also find the ashtrays next to a plate of food anything but tasty🤢 Only when the ashtrays are gone will we come back. Kind regards.

Hebben hier een boeren uitsmijter en een kielman uitsmijter gegeten. Nou ja uitsmijter, het waren omeletten geworden, erg vet en droog en geheel doorbakken. De uitsmijter kielman moest ook rosbief bevatten, maar die heb ik nauwelijks kunnen ontdekken. Een treurige ervaring over toch twee relatief eenvoudig te bereiden gerechten. Blijven oefenen en wellicht lukt het ooit nog om een smakelijke uitsmijter te serveren

Deze plek is echt aan te raden, spreek namens ook voor vier anderen. Vind het legit de lekkerste tent om lunch/ontbijt te gaan eten in Veendam. Echt aan te raden: stokbrood pulled chicken BBQ. Poah. Tis zo’n goeie vullende lunch voor een mooie prijs. Ook de wafels met kersen zijn heerlijk. Avondeten geen ervaring mee. Vriendelijk, jong personeel over het algemeen. Hier blijf ik vaste klant!

Almost everything on the menu here is delicious and freshly prepared. This time the onion soup was not that good, but it will definitely be tasty again next time. Nice service and atmosphere, always nice for lunch.

Had a delicious cappuccino, Red Velvet late and fruit smoothie, the Honey chicken sandwich was also very tasty. And the pastries taste delicious here.

Waanzinnig lekker geluncht. Mijn vrouw had de truffelburger en ik zelf de Beef truffel. Beiden rijk aan smaak, goede kwaliteit vlees en perfecte portie. Ga zo door.

Requested a menu and had not received it after half an hour, so I picked it up myself. Then we waited 45 minutes for our order to be taken. Everyone around us who sat there later had long since finished their food. When I pointed this out, the older lady started a discussion with us while the waitress agreed with us and knew that we had been sitting for a long time. Very bad manners.

I sat on the covered terrace with my girlfriend and our dogs with a cappuccino with liqueur and a delicious ball sandwich with all the trimmings and a delicious wrap.

Heerlijke latte, al veel van de kaart geprobeerd, alles was buitengewoon lekker.

Lekkere lunchplek, goed eten en erg vriendelijke bediening! Mooi plekje om te lunchen of gewoon een kopje koffie met wat lekkers tussendoor te nemen.

Was druk maar we werden snel geholpen. Het eten was snel op tafel, personeel was ook aardig

Ontzettend gezellige en sfeervolle zaak. Heeeeeeerlijk gebak we hadden een "joekel" gebakje,schuim chocolade en een "krokantje" nootjes,overgoten met heerlijke melkchocolade. De tosti pesto was ook voortreffelijk mooi krokant met een lekkere salade erbij. En heel goede lekkere cappuccino. Toiletten keurig netjes,met leuke extra's. Wel een trap op voor naar de Toiletten. Als je in de buurt bent ,Zeker heen gaan,erg gezellige zaak!

Heerlijk gelunched. De menukaart heeft voor ieder wat wils (vlees, vegetarisch, kleine en grote porties). Aardige bediening. Aanrader in geval je wat bijzonder-der wilt lunchen dan bij bijvoorbeeld een Bakker Bart of Hema.

Gisteren met een groep Kielman bezocht en het was gezellig met elkaar. Iedereen heeft wat van de kaart besteld en iedereen tevreden. De service was goed, attent en accuraat. We komen graag nog eens terug.

We hebben er gezellig gezeten en lekker gegeten. Ben ik weer in Veendam weet ik waar ik een hapje ga eten.👍

Borrelplank besteld, deze was boven verwachting goed. Qua uitstraling al een feestje en heerlijke toegankelijke hapjes. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar! Zaten ook nog warme hapjes bij.

Altijd leuk en goed en altijd heel vriendelijk en correct. Maar rond lunchtijd ook altijd Superdruk en meestal vol. Geen hele grote ruimte binnen, maar best vol, waardoor het soms nogal lawaaiig kan zijn en je er even aan moet wennen. Mooie locatie. Fijn buitenterras. Heerlijke antigriep-thee.

Moesten lang wachten op nacho's maar is super opgelost door een gratis kop koffie erbij, de nacho's waren het wachten ook wel waard. Coupe was ook echt goed gemaakt, niet overheersend zoet of te weinig smaak. Personeel was ook hartstikke behulpzaam en vriendelijk.

Heel gezellig altijd en heerlijk gebak

Een vaak drukbezette locatie, zeker het terras bij mooi weer. Bediening correct, vriendelijk en tamelijk snel ongeacht de drukte. Cappuccino misschien wat aan de sterke kant. Een echt minpunt zijn de toiletten die op de eerste etage zijn. Compleet onbereikbaar voor vele handicaps. Wat ons betreft verdient dit een snelle oplossing.

Lekker gegeten, alleen jammer dat de chips die bij een clubsandwich hoort, smakeloze mais variant was. Verder gezellige tent. Wel lang gewacht op eten, maar het was erg druk.

Dit is de moeite waard om naar Veendam te fietsen op de vouwfiets. Veendam stelt teleur, weinig winkels. De lunch By Kielman maakte de teleurstelling meer dan goed.

heeel lekker geluncht. Vegetarisch 12 uurtje, nog even gecheckt of de kroket echt Vega was omdat hij zo lekker was.

Hier kun je uit zoveel lekker dingen kiezen, echt een aanrader. Ook nu is er veel keus om af te halen of te laten bezorgen. Voor bijna iedere feestdag verzinnen ze iets leuks om mee te nemen naar huis.

We hebben hier heerlijk geluncht, (kozen voor het 'twaalfuurtje') maar we moesten daar wel érg lang op wachten! Het smaakte ons echter heel goed. Het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Echt minpunt: om naar het toilet te kunnen moet je een lange, steile trap op. Dat is voor mensen die wat minder goed ter been zijn niet te doen.

Je kan hier lekker relaxen met een heerlijk kop koffie en vele andere lekkernijen. De service is goed en ze zijn erg klantvriendelijk. Een fijne plek voor de lunch. Een echte aanrader
