Restaurant Van Heijningen Bosch in Wijk 00 Veendam-kern

It wasn't a good experience. The creamy fish terrine had three large bones and was tasteless. The main course was stuffed guinea fowl. The guinea fowl was still somewhat passable, but everything else on the plate was unfortunately flavorless. I cook better at home; it wasn't worth the money, unfortunately. The pace was also too fast; we were still making the bread when the appetizer arrived. Three courses, and after an hour and a half, we were already out. The waitresses were friendly!

We had a wonderful meal yesterday—my second time, my husband's first. Every dish is carefully prepared, and everything is truly delicious. Friendly service and a beautiful location. The only thing we missed was background music. I don't remember if it was there last time. Because it was a quiet evening, it's difficult to have a conversation without others literally hearing you. Otherwise, I would have given the atmosphere 5 stars :)

We received a warm and friendly welcome from the hostess. We thoroughly enjoyed the fine dining experience. Give the chef free rein, and he won't disappoint. We felt right at home. We recommend offering the chocolates with your tea on a separate saucer. They melted right up against the teacup, and we were licking our fingers.

The first time we were here, it was delicious and surprising, the second time it was much less flavorful. In between, we had a disappointing high tea, and last night's dinner was downright... I almost dare not say it. Let me just say, tasteless and a huge disappointment. A thick slice of ham as the main course—this is simply not acceptable for fine dining. I was so happy with a fine dining experience in Veendam, but now I feel like the kitchen is just a bit of a mess. This wasn't prepared with love. It's a real shame, and definitely not worth the money.

We went here for dinner on Valentine's Day because of the high ratings. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The food was of mediocre quality. The starter, for example, was a mix of salad greens with a slice of smoked salmon, some tuna pieces, and tempura shrimp. Everything seemed to have come straight from the supermarket or Sligro. The other dishes weren't exactly fine dining either. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond. The music was also well-suited to the day. It's a shame they didn't have some Valentine's Day decorations, something as simple as paper hearts on the table. The building is beautiful, both inside and out.

We went for dinner with high expectations for a weekend getaway with five of us. After a delicious amuse-bouche of marinated celeriac, things went downhill with the other courses, which—as a guest noted in an older review—couldn't pass for anything more than a mediocre bistro. If the concept is fine dining, you expect the same attention to detail from a vegetarian (or fish) menu as from the meat dishes. Instead, the meat was simply replaced with a piece of coconut cheese from a packet, a piece of smoked salmon, or, in the case of the main course, even a bone-dry piece of halibut without any seasoning. The accompanying vegetables were completely uninspiring and tasteless (e.g., roasted broccoli, baked dry potato, and boiled carrot). The rolls were pre-baked and of inferior quality. The wines offered by the glass were supermarket-quality and not worth the effort. To make matters worse, several of our guests experienced stomach and intestinal discomfort the next day, and one of us became seriously ill. It seemed to be caused by the lentil tart. The setting was beautiful: a stately, carefully decorated, and well-maintained building (which, unfortunately, the staff couldn't tell us anything about; we were given a brochure to read). We were unlucky enough to share a room with a loud man and his dog (he'd been allowed to bring his own after consulting with the restaurant), who was on a dinner date, which made us feel like we were in a first-date episode.

There were only two of us; there were no other guests dining. Nevertheless, we received a warm welcome. And both the food and the service were truly excellent! You can enjoy a wonderful meal here in a beautiful building, with good food at a reasonable price.

We were invited for a tour of the beautiful building. It looked amazing. We opted for the 5-course fine dining menu. It was all very delicious. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

We opted for fine dining with the wine pairing, and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderfully paired wines. This was our second visit and certainly won't be our last. We're very pleased with this beautiful venue, where you'll experience a wonderfully fresh and pure taste experience.

We had dinner at your place last night with 6 people. We were seated at the lovely large round table, with a view of the conservatory and the beautiful garden. The food was exquisite, and the service was friendly and willing to explain the menu, as well as the history of the building before it became a restaurant. ABNORMAL !!! Hosted a happy hour on October 5th for my birthday. I knew the reputation from the past. Now it turns out that this amazing reputation has grown even further. It is ABNORMAL regarding the service, the unsurpassable tasty snacks, the waitstaff, and the friendliness of the people working there. It is a pity that my birthday isn't coming up again soon, because then I would know exactly what to do: come back here again !!! ABNORMAL (3rd time). The only thing that is NORMAL: the bill. On our way to the Groninger Museum, we stopped for lunch at the VAN HEIJNINGEN BOSCH restaurant. We found the restaurant online. It's located in a historic 19th-century building with a wonderful atmosphere. We let the chef, Fabian Snijders, surprise us and gladly accepted his suggestion to put together a lunch platter for us. We were immediately blown away when the platters were served. Visually and in terms of taste, it was simply superb, topped off with a fantastic dessert. Wij waren hier donderdag 26 juni. De zeeduivel was er niet daarom heilbot,niks mis mee.Keuze gemaakt uit twee hoofdgerechten met asperges,even later bleek dat er geen asperges waren.Een uit de wijnkaart gekozen fles wijn was er niet.Daarom andere fles wijn gekozen.Gerechten waren prima in orde. Bij afrekenen kon men geen bon printen,zou per email nagestuurd worden.Op vrijdag morgen bon gecontroleerd,fles wijn was 20 euro teveel voor gerekend.Vrijdagmorgen gelijk langs gegaan,geld zou teruggestort worden.Nu op woensdagavond nog steeds niets ontvangen.

I was here with my mother and sister for a high tea. It exceeded our expectations. The location is really beautiful, from the interior to the big tree you can eat under. It was 30 degrees and we were never too hot. The food was incredibly tasty and the quality was excellent. We had asked for vegetarian food and that was taken into account. Other adjustments were no problem at all. The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and made us feel warm and welcome. It was also affordable. And the parking lot had an electric charging station (always handy) All in all a very nice experience and we would love to come back again!

Warme zomeravond, daardoor konden we kiezen uit binnen eten in het echt prachtig gerestaureerde pand of buiten onder een sprookjesachtige hoge treurbeuk. Heerlijk uitgebreid gedineerd in de prachtige tuin. Kwaliteit van de verschillende, zeer gevarieerde gerechten/creaties, is uitstekend! De kok maakt verrassende creaties.Kwal Zeer vriendelijke en attente bediening!

Omdat het een warme dag was, hebben we met vrienden in de tuin onder de enorme treurbeuken gedineerd. Uitstekende bediening en door chef Fabian meestal zelf toegelichte gerechten. Prima smaakcombinaties en een daarbij passend wijnarrangement. Bijna zonde dat niet meer gasten deze 'verborgen schat' die avond hebben gevonden.

Genoten van een heerlijke high wine bij Van Heijningen Bosch. Elke wijn kwam met een bijpassend, prachtig opgemaakt gerechtje. We kregen twee rode, twee witte en een dessertwijn. Verwennerij van zeer goede kwaliteit. Hier weten ze nog wat gastvrijheid inhoudt. De gastdame is erg vriendelijk en de chefkok kwam ons zelf ook gerechtjes brengen. En dat alles in een prachtig monumentaal pand met een sfeervolle ambiance. Echt een aanrader!

We got the coffee on the house, very thoughtful! In my opinion, it certainly belongs in the same category as other top addresses such as Verhildersum, Piloersmaborg and Rikus!

Perfecte lokatie in een prachtig pand.Eten zeer culinair en bediening zeer vriendelijk. Eerst buiten in de prachtige tuin onder een boom van 1885 met bubbels ,binnen mooi gedekte tafels echt een genot dat je niet van een kale tafel moet eten wat zo vaak gebeurt.Wij gaan hier vast en zeker vaker dineren.

The food was good. Were 3 people. Friendly staff. What we certainly appreciated was that the cook came by. Definitely recommended.

We were warmly welcomed and invited to choose a table. The wine list was shown and that was one to pass through. We opted for the wine arrangement with the appropriate 5-course Mattheus menu. The combination of the wines and the different dishes was truly sublime. They take the time for their guests, pour wine where appropriate and there is just enough time between the different courses. Beforehand I was personally a bit nervous about whether I would like everything, because I didn't know everything, but every bite was divine. Highly recommended!

Ontzettend mooie ambiance met de kroonluchters en antiek om u heen !!hele mooie gerechten en bijzondere gerechten, waarin de bijzondere combinaties een sensatie op je tong zijn. Hele jonge chef-kok met goude vingers die het ver gaat schoppen in deze wereld.. We hebben genoten en de dames van de bediening waren super netjes en vriendelijk en maakte je avond compleet! Tot heel snel weer❤

Afgelopen weekend hebben wij ons feest hier gevierd. Het is een prachtige locatie met een prachtig verhaal. Daarnaast wordt er met je meegedacht over de mogelijkheden en de wensen. De service is super, daarvoor wil ik Jennifer nogmaals bedanken. Wij zijn ontzettend tevreden over de keuze voor deze locatie. Zeker een aanrader.

Het 60-jarig huwelijksfeest van onze ouders is perfect georganiseerd door Jennifer, ook de bediening was geweldig. De barbecue werd verzorgd door een kok, gasten konden in de prachtige serre of in de tuin zitten, een ongedwongen sfeer. Geen andere gasten, de locatie was uitsluitend voor onze groep gereserveerd.

We hadden een feest in het kader van ons 50 jarig huwelijk. Een prachtige, unieke locatie. Erg gastvrij ontvangen en de bediening was top. We hadden een “walking diner” zodat een ieder ontspannen kon eten. De kok heeft mooie enen lekkere gerechten gemaakt. Kortom een top avond om niet te vergeten.

Echt een prachtige locatie. Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten van allerlei originele gerechten, geserveerd door attent, gastvrij en vriendelijk personeel. Zeker een aanrader!
