Huiskamerrestaurant De Stille in Wijk 00 Veendam-kern

Busy place, but that is explained by excellent dishes. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. A haven of peace despite the crowds.

Didn't eat there, but the bitterballen were quick and delicious

It wasn't a good experience. The creamy fish terrine had three large bones and was tasteless. The main course was stuffed guinea fowl. The guinea fowl was still somewhat passable, but everything else on the plate was unfortunately flavorless. I cook better at home; it wasn't worth the money, unfortunately. The pace was also too fast; we were still making the bread when the appetizer arrived. Three courses, and after an hour and a half, we were already out. The waitresses were friendly!

Since it changed owners the quality has deteriorated rapidly.

The cafe was bustling with people and the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious.
