Café Belcampo in Kinkerbuurt

A dear friend suggested to try Belcampo for a thanksgiving dinner. The price was friendly and charged in advance. The experience was awful and frankly offensive in its lack of quality and carelessness. Bland food served cafeteria-style (not a problem per se) but in paper plates and with plastic utensils that broke while we ate. Stress over chairs that were barely sufficient for the amount of guests. Bright lights made the loft space look more like a disaster shelter than a restaurant on a festive occasion. To add to the poor experience, staff was walking around with large trash bags, emptying out the table items while we still were there. Never again.

Had a cappuccino with oat milk and a vegan chocolate cookie 😊 I loved it! Nice place to hang or to have something to go. Friendly staff!

Coffee usually very good in taste but not all Baristas are the same. Used to be normal priced at €2.60 for a large cup. Came there all the time. But for some mysterious reason the price has increased again and the coffeecups made smaller in size. So a small coffeecup is now €3.58 and large cup only €4.85. Shrinkflation at its best. I'll pass thanks.

Dont order matcha latte there you are just going to pay 5€ for milk…

Friendly staff and amazing sandwiches

I feel like I've just been scammed. I ordered a raspberry lemonade and they gave me tap water with a mint leaf and a shot of syrup. I paid 4.50.

From perspective of someone enjoying working in a cafe it's a perfect place. Lots of open space, rather quiet environment but still fine to talk, more designated working place upstairs, good coffee and nice staff.

Great place to bring your laptop, sit and work from here.

Service is ok but atmosphere is not child friendly as adverstised. People around is quiet and working which makes little noise from kids very noticeable and frowned upon (despite the kids area being designed for babies and toddlers). Furthermore the kids area is openly connected to the library where little kids are not allowed (staff from the library kick us out). Very stressful experience.

Nice café with plenty of space upstairs and downstairs. We love coming here for meetings. Experienced, friendly staff. I think it's also great for a relaxing (work) afternoon with your laptop 😉

Unsure what they put in the coffee but it has a kick (as in kept me awake and focused more than usual) and was tasty so a dangerous combo haha. Convenient location with lots of space to work and a second level. Library (OBA) next door and magazines available in the cafe. One of my favorite spots to study/ get work done!

Terrible experience👎 While I was there, I found cash on the floor next to me. When I left, I handed the money to the cashier, hoping it would be held in case the rightful owner returned. However, instead of properly handling the situation, the female staff immediately took the cash from me with a greedy expression and handed it to the other staff as if it were their tip. Even if the owner never came back, they should have at least kept the money for a while instead of just stealing it. Such behavior raises serious concerns about their integrity. How can customers trust a store that so easily misappropriates lost property? If they’re willing to take something that doesn’t belong to them, it makes you wonder what else might be taken. This experience has left a very negative impression, and I will definitely never return🙃

The food was great, and very reasonably priced- I have given 2 stars for atmosphere because the children’s play area is absolutely filthy- I’m not sure it has ever been cleaned, I would go as far as to say it’s a health hazard.

Great cafe to study. Great selection of sweets, and always a gluten-free option. Also they accommodate gluten-free lunch options. Deserves a 5 star just for that! One of the reasons I keep coming back. The only small thing is that there is a weird subtle non-pleasant smell when you walk in. I can’t figure out what it is. It’s not strong enough to keep me away though.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the food is quite special. I saw many people coming here to work with computers and books. This time I ordered a tuna sandwich and a chicken sandwich, both of which were delicious.

Wonderful place. I like coming there. It would be even better if they opened earlier because I'm an early bird!

Kids corner is unfortunately really dirty. Every toy is caked in filth and the couch and floor seem as if they’ve never been wiped down. How difficult would it be to take ten minutes to clean the area once a day? Especially seeing as the kids corner is used on their signage to draw people inside

Fix your WiFi, please. It's been unreliable for months now.

My recent experiences at Café Belcampo have led me to reconsider my patronage, despite having spent a considerable amount of money on their offerings. The most pressing issue is the café's Wi-Fi, which is remarkably weak and unreliable, posing a challenge for those needing a stable internet connection. The quality of drinks, especially the coffee, is underwhelming. It lacks the flavor and quality one would expect from a café. The sandwich-making process is another concern, particularly regarding hygiene. The staff directly handle food without gloves, which is not only unappetizing but also questionable from a health standpoint. A notable disappointment is the decline in the quality of their tuna melt. The sandwich, once a better value, now contains much less tuna, which is hard to justify given its price. This is particularly glaring when compared to other establishments where one can enjoy a substantial sandwich with good value for money. The cleanliness of the café also needs improvement. Tables and surfaces are not cleaned as regularly as they should be in a dining environment. The customer service is a major drawback. The staff have been extremely rude on several occasions. Their unprofessional behavior, particularly in response to simple actions such as seating arrangements, is unacceptable and has significantly impacted the overall atmosphere of the café. In light of these issues, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. For the same amount of money, there are plenty of other options where I can enjoy a quality sandwich, reliable Wi-Fi, and friendly service. It's disappointing, as Café Belcampo could be a much better place with some necessary improvements in food quality, hygiene practices, and customer service.

Cafeteria with the usual options at the usual (high) Amsterdam prices. Some of the tables do not allow laptops (great!). It is equipped with a playing area for small kids (and has a changing facility as well). All in all, it is a good option for casual coffee.

My favorite place to sit and work with a cup of coffee.

I ordered a hot chocolate with whipped cream, but what I got was very disappointing, especially for the price. The chocolate milk was barely warm, the glass was half full and the whipped cream was ugly and very airy (but that is my personal preference for a fuller whipped cream). When I pointed this out to the girl behind the counter, she said, in what I thought was an uncustomer-friendly manner, that she couldn't do anything for me. I asked if I could at least have some chocolate milk with it and she immediately poured it over my whipped cream with an irritated sigh. Too bad, because the atmosphere is nice at Belcampo and the sandwiches are also tasty.

It's a cafe next to a famous food hall! There is a small library next door, so it's relatively quiet and comfortable! There is a place where you can work on your computer, and there is also an outlet so you can charge your batteries. There is also a toilet! The only problem is that there is no air conditioning. Summer was extremely hot You can find this cafe next to the famous food hall. Since there is a small library, this cafe tends to be calm. You can also find the table for PC work. Although there are many advantages, the temperature in the cafe is always high because there is no AC.

Always a got spot to get some focus

Ladies are chatting instead of cleaning the dirty tables, you have to find a nice + clean place. Of course they chat in Dutch, but back to the customer in English. Lazy and racist.

Elegant, friendly, well priced and generally wonderful library cafe with a great atmosphere.

The Cafe itself is lovely, with plenty of seating, magazines and a large selection of drinks. But both the coffee, and the service, was not up to that same standard. I ordered a Mocha with Oat Milk, and was told that "It's too difficult to do with Oat", so was instead told to have a standard Mocha. In the end, I was then given the wrong drink, but the offer to get a replacement was given immediately after they realised, but I stuck with it anyway. In the end, I got a scalding hot, over extracted, well below average cappuccino, that wasn't even full. If you rely on alternative milks for your drink, I would highly recommend avoiding Belcampo, as it being "Too difficult to make" shouldn't be an excuse.

The best cafe in Amsterdam when having a baby 👶🏼 as there is a nice play area for the kidos . In addition coffe and baking are very tasty

Best matcha, favourite study place

Fijne plek om te leren, maar wel 50 cent extra voor slagroom bij de chocomelk. Dat vind ik wel een beetje veel, bovendien krijg je er geen koekje of niks bij! Tevens wel lekkere chocomelk.

What's not to like about this place. It's a huge space in De Hallen and connected with a library. There is an upstairs place for people to use their laptops too. Live music on some nights. Friendly staff, normal prices and they have free wifi and power outlets available. Some of the tables are blocked from "laptops" but that's fine. So many other tables. A great place to work remotely if you want or need to get out of the apartment.

great, cosy spot for studying with friends! the tostis are great to snack on and drinks are relatively affordable (considering it's Amsterdam haha). they have good wifi, lots of plug points, friendly staff and plenty of seating space!

This place is more designed like a café than workspace. Very very noisy, yelling children, coffee machines etc. Thereby.. why serving chips... in a work space...

Airy, spacious, warm and friendly vibes. Lovely spot with a welcoming yet modern feel. Really spectacular red velvet cake, easily the highlight of the visit; and possibly one of the highlights of the trip.. also happy to say one of the best flat white coffees I’ve had in Amsterdam. The staff were really helpful and happy to talk and translate where needed (which was only for the daily menu on the wall), as well as making conversation and being accommodating! Really recommend and will be going back again.

Nice and cozy environment for study! It is pretty spacious inside! Also, the location is very strategic as there are lot of food options nearby too and the market (daytime).

good coffee and good work space. the staff is nice. two feedback points: your goat cheese sandwich can be improved, less dry. Also, improve the hygiene of the toilets. with so many people it gets dirty and messy quickly.

Library cafe, can get pretty busy at times

Café bij bibliotheek met rijk cultureel programma, vaak gratis. In het zaaltje erboven zijn soms ook optredens, overdag is het nu een co-werkplek. Als er geen programmering is, gaat het café wel erg vroeg dicht, dat is jammer. Zonde van de prachtlocatie dat de openingstijden niet veel ruimer zijn.

Helemaal top, goeie service, goed ontbijt en heerlijke koffie.

Perfecte plek om te studeren/werken!

Als je een Cappuccino met extra shot bestelt krijg je een koffie verkeerd: een sloot melk met een hint koffie. Dan krijg ik de vraag: had je nóg minder melk gewild? Dit is zonde van de prijzige koffie!!

Este es un lugar donde encontrarás muchos locales que trabajan en computadoras portátiles, leyendo periódicos y revistas o simplemente se conocen. El café y los bocadillos parecen ser adicionales. Tienes que pedir en el mostrador, lo que hace que este sea un lugar perfecto para sentarte sin sentirte culpable por no haber ordenado algo en un tiempo. Además, en el fin de semana suele haber música en vivo, desde música clásica hasta jazz. Y si decides tener comida aquí, es buena comida a un buen precio.

The place has a nice atmosphere, specially if you wanna work with your laptop. They celebrate also events.

Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Preise gegenüber anderen Cafes durchaus akzeptabel. Hier treffen sich scheinbar viele Mütter mit ihren Kindern, für mich kein Problem aber wer lieber die Ruhe genießen möchte sollte lieber einen anderen Ort aufsuchen.
