We visited Café Brasserie Meuwese on two consecutive days with our 15-month-old daughter, and we were extremely happy with our experience. The staff kindly prepared a simple pasta exactly the way we requested for our daughter, and she absolutely loved it. It meant a lot to us that they were so accommodating. Their genuine warmth and affection towards our daughter made us feel truly welcome. Each time we visited, we tried different dishes, and every meal was delicious. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. The location is fantastic, and we really enjoyed sitting in the outdoor garden area. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy our meals. When we visit Amsterdam again, Café Brasserie Meuwese will definitely be one of the first places we return to. Highly recommended!

Every time we spend a weekend in Amsterdam, breakfast at Café Brasserie Meuwese is a must. It's become our favorite spot, and we always return with great pleasure. The Norwegian Breakfast is truly excellent: fresh, well-presented, and high-quality ingredients. We also greatly appreciated the Dammann Frères tea, a refined selection that demonstrates the establishment's attention to detail. For those who prefer coffee, Illy is always a guarantee. But the real star is undoubtedly the apple pie served with ice cream: simply exceptional! Soft, fragrant, served warm and accompanied by ice cream, it's a dessert worth the visit alone. The place is very welcoming, with meticulous attention to detail both inside and out, perfect for a leisurely start to the day. The staff is always friendly, smiling, and attentive, contributing to a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. We definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality breakfast in the heart of Amsterdam. It's become a tradition for us... and we can't wait to return to Amsterdam next weekend!

Sitting in the outdoor area was really enjoyable. I had a pasta that was absolutely delicious. The French fries were so good that we ended up ordering two portions. Overall a very pleasant experience.

They have a delicious, extensive menu. Always high quality and plenty of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Simply perfect, never any complaints. I'll remain a regular!

Café Brasserie Meuwese became our go-to spot — we ended up going four different times during the same vacation because it was just that good. Casual, welcoming, and consistently delicious. We tried the croquet Madame, rich and satisfying salads, steak with fries, a classic Dutch pancake, and finally a burger — everything was comforting and well made. It’s the kind of place where you walk in easily, eat well, look outside at the snow falling, forget about problems, and simply enjoy the moment. A great experience every time.

You can't chew the bread! The tables are too small and the plates are too big.

There were three of us, and we got a lovely window seat. The staff was very friendly, and the service was exceptional and professional. We had two breakfast menus (omelet and vegetarian) with coffee, orange juice, and muesli. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended. Today, my best frend , my husband and I were there, it was a miracle, I've been living in Amsterdam for two years, I was looking for a place, I couldn't find it, now I know, it's become our favorite place. The café has a charming, cozy atmosphere right in the heart of the city, with a lovely view over the Rokin street. Let's face it 99% this cafe is about it's location. If the day is nice , outside , perfect for people watching. The menu offers an OK variety of classic dishes, with highlights including excellent Dutch pancakes, well-prepared sandwiches, and plenty coffee options like illy espresso and cappuccino. The food is tasty and well presented, with dishes like the kogelbiefstuk and crème brûlée, that sort of thing. Prices are reasonable for a central Amsterdam location, ie not reasonable. It's a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or a casual coffee break, with the outdoor seating area being perfect for meeting someone on a nice day during sightseeing or shopping sprees. Service can occasionally be a bit slow but you shouldn't care if you are sitting here anyway.

My wife and I had lunch/brunch at Café Brasserie Meuwese during our short stay in Amsterdam and really enjoyed it. My steak frites was probably the best meal I had the entire trip to Amsterdam, and my wife’s pancakes were great as well. Side note, I didn't like the fries or anywhere else in Amsterdam. Maybe its just me. We sat at the window counter and loved people watching while we ate. The only minor downside was that the wait staff wasn’t very attentive, not sure if that’s just the local style but otherwise, the place was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit!

On a Saturday evening in Amsterdam, I immediately got a table on the first floor. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, the price was right. The dessert was delicious. The atmosphere was simple and cozy.

The cafe is in a perfect location, there are many tables inside and outside. The waiters work quickly and are very polite. But the quality of the drinks is mediocre for such a price. Cocktails for 13.5 euros taste very watery, coffee and cakes are also so-so. The price is clearly overpriced for a place that is worth it to feel the atmosphere of Amsterdam

Hidden gem! We were passing by, thought it was a cute place, and it was absolutely amazing. Delicious desserts and warm drinks. The chocolate mousse is incredibly creamy and not at all sweet. If you're around, it's a must-try.

The waiters were kind and were fast, the food came quickly in under 20-30 minutes during peak hours and omg the burger was one of the best I have ever tasted. It's a whole spiritual experience with every bite. Even if your budget for going out is tight, the food is worth every single euro. There is no tourist trap here from what I've noticed.

I came especially for the delicious apple pie with whipped cream. The only downside is that the coffee is so small, it only takes two mini sips. For that price, you should get a good cup of coffee, with three double servings. People will probably have a second cup, but not for a mini coffee. So please be more generous with the size of the cups and the coffee.

El lugar no te grita con su simple interior, pero basta con ver cómo la señora del bar preordenó diversas bebidas para querer quedarse aquí. Ella trabaja en silencio pero profesionalmente, y ella está feliz de presentarle tye mejor en las bebidas. Las comidas que pedimos eran inesperadamente buenas. He comido salmón al horno en muchas formas con muchas rodajas, y en este restaurante me sorprendió positivamente obtener un sabor perfectamente equilibrado , cubierto con una rara combinación de semillas de granada! Sin duda volvería allí de nuevo y te recomiendo también.

Leaving here with the most happily full stomach. The vegetarian penne was flavored so well and the Niçoise salad was very tasty even without dressing. Finishing it off with a nice espresso and the most yummiest crème Brûlée. Truly a delight!

Nice place ,do not know about food but for coffee lovers not a place I was shocked and lost speech to see how my Latte was made ..To make it they dump left over from cofee machine from 2 caps staying under 2 cofee nozzels ( assume slow drip or overshoot from nozzels) and poor hot steamed milk in it without bother to try make a foam Even in very busy crowded places never see doing like this .Machiatto probably will be big challenge for them to do . Very suprise see review below with very good expirence for coffee

The wind was cold despite the sunshine so we ducked into this little brasserie along a canal. Inside was warm and we got a table by the window. I ordered chicken satay and a side of chips. My partner ordered the nicoise. The chicken was very tender and the peanut sauce complemented it perfectly. We finished with a glass of prosecco. The service was excellent. I would go back .

I'm surprised at the consistently positive reviews. Was there on May 5th, 2025 and have never eaten so expensively and badly. I had a glass of mineral water and a mushroom toast (€17.15). With a lot of good will the toast can be called crispy, I think it was rather old, hard bread that was toasted. The mushrooms - from the jar - were simmered black, no fresh parsley or chives, no cheese either, but a lot of dry (i.e. not marinated) arugula. The dog at the next table was the worst. It was so cute that everyone touched it, including the waitress (luckily not my waitress - at least I didn't see it during my stay). The dog had gotten water and there was a wet rag under the table, which the waitress then picked up, wiped the floor and disposed of the rag, but unfortunately didn't wash his hands afterwards and continued serving. After visiting this brasserie, I was afraid that my visit to Amsterdam would end in a terrible gastrointestinal catastrophe. Luckily that wasn't the case. Nevertheless: cleanliness no star, quality of the food no star, service at my table was ok. Addendum: Strange, I can't find my rating when I go to the brasserie.

Wij hebben hier geborreld na ons bezoek aan het Rembrandthuis vanwege de Van Hoogstraten tentoonstelling. Wat een fijn personeel hebben zij hier (geen uitzendkrachten met 0 % verstand van horeca). Op een mooie plek in de zaak met fraai uitzicht hebben wij genoten van bitterballen, gefrituurde garnalen en zoete aardappelen met bijpassende sausjes en een lekkere fles Pinot Grigio uit Alto Adige (Zuid Tirol) en gemeentepils (water zonder meerkosten). Hiervoor hebben wij krap € 60 moeten afrekenen, een heel nette prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Wij komen hier zeker terug, mede vanwege de mooie ligging naast het metrostation Rokin.

I was looking for a pasta restaurant recommended on Google Maps, and it was a good restaurant because there were a lot of people there. However, I chose toast, and although the selection wasn't very good, the food was okay. Menus like sandwiches seem to be more common and better. I really recommend the French fries. Coffee doesn't seem to be that good.

No hablamos holandés, pero esto no fue un problema. La bienvenida fue cálida y ofreció varios lugares para sentarse. La pronunciación y comprensión del inglés fue excelente. El conocimiento de los alimentos ofrecidos fue ejemplar. La comida era muy sabrosa y el filete se hizo exactamente como se pidió y sabroso. La pasta con pollo es un plato sencillo y estaba excelente. Es tan fácil arruinar platos fáciles, pero se tuvo cuidado y fue un placer comer.
