They claimed to have grilled steak on the nachos and served something that tasted suspiciously like corn. The pizzas looked and tasted like they were shop bought from the supermarket up the road

Food is ok; simple, nothing special, but tasty. Very expensive place, but I guess that’s Amsterdam city centre. Seevice ok, poor English.

Cozy cafe. Nice staff. We came in with the kids, ordered cocoa, got a flurry of emotions (good ones) from communicating with the staff: delicious cocoa, warm atmosphere, warmed up.

The service was unfortunately not very welcoming. No one greeted us when we arrived, and we were left unsure whether to sit ourselves. The waiter also seemed grumpy and uninterested. The food was perfectly fine, but quite simple and with little flavor. The biggest minus was the drink: €3.85 for only 200 ml of soda. It's incredibly small for almost €4, and felt very overpriced. There was nothing on the menu about the size, so it's natural to assume that you get a regular size, often between 0.33 and 0.5 l. A perfectly okay place for lunch, but the drink prices, the simple food and the service are a drag for me.

Mediocre, uninterested, tired staff, gave my friend a glass full of vodka when he ordered a skinny b.

I ordered a pizza, and the taste reminded me of a standard frozen pizza from Norma. I have to honestly say that the Rewe brand pizza tastes better.

So I ordered the Panini specifically asked for extra extra ham. Put exactly one piece of thin ham on the whole Panini. I don't know what extra means around here but these people are terrible. Save your money. Go somewhere else

Street based seated restaurant which does have inside seats. Busy for early dinner - service was pleasant and fairly quick. Broad range of dishes available. I asked for some extra mayo - having paid the bill, I noticed a charge of 95 cents!

Small cafe with tourist prices...

The server was just so nice & always smiling. Good music in the background too (2010’s electronic at that time) got some Grilled tacos & an iced tea. I think I stayed 15 mins post the closing time but they let me finish my meal in peace. No pressure at all. I’d hit this spot again for the late night grab.

Frozen pizza for €14, not recommended.

The food was okay for the price compared to everything else in the city, but still low quality. It took a while to arrive, but we came at 3:30 pm for lunch. The waiter was very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant. Great location.

We ordered croquettes and fish and chips, and it was good. The location is also very good and the atmosphere is pleasant.

They got 2/3 of our orders wrong and there was a hair in my sandwich. The food that we did get wasn’t very good. I was surprised what low quality cheese they used considering the location. The salt and pepper shakers were disgusting and obviously not cleaned often if at all.

We were given a partially used glass, which then immediately broke, spilling water all over everyone's pants, and afterwards we were expected to pay for both the beer and the glass.

Came in with friends. Got the chicken salad and it was a sad plate of lettuce and chicken that was into tiny pieces that reminded me of dog food. Sad salad and waste of money.

Avoid this. The kitchen where they cook is really small and cramped. One person cooks and the female chef we watched the whole time we were there was horrible to watch. She cooked with the same rubber gloves she used to wipe her face, ate food in between and used her phone. The phone, which is the most bacteria-ridden of all. The waiters also did not report any missing portions, but we received the portions without the things that were included, for example tacos without guacamole, which is a pretty essential thing in tacos.

Nice staff and good beer. Unfortunately, cant say the same about food. Chicken nuggets didn't taste good at all, tasted like water with flavour.

The staff are nice and the service is fast, but it was just my daughter and I. We sat here for a quick bite because we were very tired. I haven't read the reviews - wish I had. Coffee was ok, I had capuccino, my salad was pretty small and served in a plastic bowl - I don't care for plastic and avoid it whenever I can, so it was bad. The meat in the salad was a bit undercooked. Gyros was ok for my kid. Music was terrible, pretty loud for 5 pm and more for a club. All in all I would agree that it's better to come here for a drink than food.

The Baroness. Really delicious! I'd say if I didn't have taste buds, nose, eyes, or any other senses. The fries tasted like they'd been fried yesterday, and they probably weren't good even then. The burger wasn't hot and had burnt C-brand buns, and I won't even mention the tough chicken. After we left, I saw a pigeon eating shit off the street, and I was almost jealous. Never going back to this place. We found better places less than a minute away. Don't disappoint yourself and don't go here!!

Good breakfast, friendly, fast service

Visited on 27/10. A pleasant enough atmosphere inside along with swift service. Prices were on the high side, particularly for beer. Only opted for drinks on this occasion. Nonetheless, a reasonable experience overall.

Hey, first of all, very bad welcoming. Bad mood of the waiter. I asked for a burger and they gave me gros and when incame for playing the guy, just ignore me and refused to understand what i asked for.

The price-performance ratio is okay for a big city like Amsterdam. The food was also quite good; I thought it was great that we all got our orders at the same time, even though there were four of us at the table.

About the nachos: Just broken chips with some peppers and salsa from a jar. The fries: Some of the worst cheap fries I've ever had. The snacks: They were okay, but they barely had any flavor. The house red is the worst wine I've ever had. Paying €60 for this is absolutely outrageous; for me, this was the first and last time.

Ordered a coffee and a glass of tap water. Got a coffe and a 4€ water bottle instead.

Too expensive for a small portion!

This was without a doubt one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. First of all, we waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for the food – and when it finally arrived, it was cold. Not lukewarm, not “could be warmer”, but downright cold. It is completely unacceptable. And as if that wasn’t enough, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed indifferent, inattentive and surly, as if you were a nuisance just by being there. No apology for the wait, no smile, no attempt to make the experience better. The food? Tasteless and bland. Not even the long wait in the kitchen could be excused by the quality – it was poor all round.

I recently visited this five-star restaurant, and my experience was absolutely outstanding. The service was excellent, with friendly and professional staff. The menu was rich and diverse, and every dish was carefully prepared and beautifully presented. What truly sets this place apart is the amazing bar – the ambiance is elegant and relaxed, and the drink selection is impressive. The bartenders are skilled and know exactly how to craft perfect cocktails. I will definitely be coming back!

We had five people in our party and each had something different. Nacho, burger, panini, other sandwiches, onion rings... It was all just OK. It's a great spot to sit and eat and drink. I might go here again for a beer, but not for food

Average food, nice place, good location, terrible service. Two guys with a very bad attitude, as if they were doing you a favor and giving you the food, not as if they were being paid for that service. I do not recommend it.

Portion size of loaded nachos was tiny. Hardly any vegetables. Absolutely not worth the money. Very loud music inside. Service for the food took 45 minutes. The table was dirty. Cardboard boxes with supplies were carelessly handled right next to my table. They were stacked right in front of a steep stairwell leaving a passage of 20 cm you had to climb through. A really unpleasant experience I would not recommend to anyone. Went to SLA and had a huge bowl of delicious food for the same price in a wonderful, calm restaurant.

I had a pizza with a hair on it, and it didn't taste good afterward. The chicken burger wasn't good either. If you want a drink, it's a nice place to eat, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Nos sentamos como el menú se veía bien y podíamos conseguir una mesa fuera en una noche cálida. Hice todo lo que un restaurante relajado debe realmente. Buenos nachos y porciones decentes de comida. Un poco de ensalada con los giros y la hamburguesa hubiera estado bien como con los schnitzels, pero compartimos en cuanto a la foto. Estos eran enormes. Un montón de buenas patatas fritas para todas las comidas. El personal era un buen conjunto de jóvenes que trabajaban duro y eran amables.

A tourist trap. A group of 7 arrived to eat. Now, we do accept the fault of not properly reading the menu and seeing in small lettering that one bill - one payment, I.e. they do not split the bill. The issue here is that the waiter saw that there's 7 of us, and it would have been nice to be informed verbally. We asked for 6 beers and one coke, we were brought 7 beers and a coke. They did not remove it from the final bill. The waiter was disrespectful and pushing with comments that I personally found inappropriate. They charged for food and beverage that we didn't even order. The food is store bought, frozen and fried in a fryer. The atmosphere is normal and its best just to have a drink and avoid food there.

The food was good. The description does not always match what you get. Example. I ordered a gyro, I got an open ended burrito without tzatziki sauce. It tasted good but it wasn't a gyro. The portions are pretty small for the price. The noise level and music is kinda loud. It's not a bad place overall.

Absolutely avoid! Catastrophic experience at this restaurant in Amsterdam. The waiters understand absolutely nothing of what you are asking, they seem annoyed as soon as you speak to them and the service is incredibly slow. Regarding the food: a shame. For an overpriced “breakfast”, you are served two poor pieces of toast, a half-burned egg covered in plastic cheese and a tiny, sad salad. Nothing is worth the price here: even water costs almost €5! This is organized theft. Frankly, it's better to continue on your way, there are much better (and cheaper) places everywhere else in Amsterdam. Avoid if you don't want to ruin your meal and your mood.

El peor personal y restaurante de la historia! Nos fuimos después de esperar 90 minutos! No habían empezado a hacer nuestra comida y ni siquiera se disculparon por ello. No recomendaría a nadie, mantente alejado! Vimos que las pizzas están congeladas y no hay acceso para sillas de ruedas para ir al baño.

¡Terrible! ¡No vayas allí! Mal servicio! Tuvimos que esperar más de una hora y media para la comida, mientras que otros que vinieron después de nosotros lo consiguieron antes que nosotros.

Unfortunately the waiting time was really long. The prices are okay for the location until you get the food served. “English Breakfast” was two slapped eggs with a slice of ham and cheese. Unfortunately the prices are really not right.

Ashamed …. Impossible to split the bill between friends! Where did you see this? Plus, €5 extra for 3 fighting fries! Food passable but between the water at 5€ and the rest… move on.

This is indeed not the same Café De Barones that reviews of 2 years ago refer to. This is now a completely different bar targeted at tourists, not a typical brown bar as it used to be. The interior has been changed and the menu, the prices and vibe adjusted to a new target audience of tourists only.

Aufgrund unseres Parkplatzes in der Nähe sind wir heute sind zufällig in das Café / Restaurant „Los Barones“ gegangen. Uns hat das Essen (Quesadilla con Pollo/ Mexican Burger) sehr gut geschmeckt. Auch Kaffee und Cappuccino sind lecker gewesen. Nette Mitarbeiter*innen und tolles Ambiente. Vielen Dank

Do not be fooled, this is not the old 'Barones'. This place opened under new ownership shortly after covid. It used to be an authentic brown cafe. It now became a tourist trap. The fact that they're keeping the name is a travesty.

The fries were very good, the burger tasted very well despite not being homemade.

Ordered Coke Zero, it was in a Coca Cola Zero bottle but was lukewarm and clearly did not taste like Coke Zero. We waited an hour for a panini and a burger that were also dirty in the end. The server who took our order was unfriendly. We did get free fries for the long wait, but that doesn't really make up for the rest.

Don't come in. The food is not good. We ordered the tacos and they were literally disgusting. The black jack burger was edible but nothing special. The girl who helped us was very nice. It's a touristy place in the center.

So this used to be a very nice local bar but now has turned into a tourist trap. It is a shame you were allowed to keep the name (I assume) and benefiting of positive reviews that were given to a totally different business. Don't go here.
