Great, cozy pub in a local neighborhood. We had some beer and bitterballen and cheese rolls, and finished it with great genefer. Love it. .

Excellent meal, very good service and a warm atmosphere.

We are not vegans or vegetarians but we love this place. The food is so interestingly delicious. It is honestly hard to choose what to order!

Truly surprisingly delicious! The fact that a "café" serves such delightful flavors and original vegetable creations made me even more delighted. It's already a lovely place to be, and the service was also very attentive and friendly.

I had gone out for dinner on Sunday and decided to go back to buy some artisanal chocolate they sell. I parked my bike in the same spot I had parked it on Sunday, and decided to take some videos and photos outside. A woman yelled at me; she was upset because I had parked my bike outside the restaurant in the same spot as on Sunday.

Amazing place if you want to experience noord in the purest of ways. Even have a subscription to their chiller housewine. Pleae visie this little cozy slice of heaven

We sometimes visit the Ceuvel with private groups. For example, during a break in a bike tour. Or as a highlight of the tour. (Usually both.) The café is a great place to relax, with delicious (and sustainable) food and drinks and excellent service. What a gem this is! Delicious food and drinks (incredibly vegan and gluten-free friendly), a great mission, overlooking the water, and with a resident cat. I'll definitely be back.

Vegan restaurant (perfect for people like me who have lactose intolerance; it's very difficult to find places offering vegan or lactose-free options here in Amsterdam) with a fairly varied menu and excellent dishes. The only downside (for us Italians 😅) is that the kitchen closes at 9:30 pm. We went for dinner, but the place must be very charming during the day, as it gets even more atmospheric outside, with rafts anchored with tables set up on the river.

We had a fantastic birthday dinner here. They set the table especially for us. The atmosphere and service were fantastic, and it's so nice that everything is vegan. I'm a fan!

A fun, trendy spot by the water in Amsterdam Noord. It's a bit of a search, as you have to walk through an alley to get there. You can sit outside or inside in a cozy atmosphere.

The food was delicious. They served a company lunch with a bit of everything. They had two plates left over, so we were able to take advantage of this tasting menu. Delicious!

Very nice place with beautiful view

Everything there tastes wonderful. We went there twice in the same weekend because we enjoyed it so much. Very creative vegetarian cuisine with excellent ingredients. Even the supposedly boring sides, like fries with tarragon mayonnaise, are super good.

A gem. It feels like you're out of this world, surrounded by nature and peace, yet you're very close to the NDSM neighborhood (a 10-minute bike ride). There's a great vibe, and they're committed to sustainability, which is why they offer vegan options. The dishes are local and complete, but the selection is limited. We recommend it for moments of relaxation and tranquility.

Big Recommendation!! Must try: Bitterbalen, Lemon Ravioli, Elderlyflower Beer The place is super cute. We went there for Dinner wich is only served after 18:00 so we had time to try some of the beers and Snacks while having a beautiful view on the water. Later we eat Dinner there and it was really good. The prices are a bit higher compared to the size of the dishes. But thats just because the use only fresh local ingredients and make everything themselfes.

Arriving into my hotel at Amsterdam Noord on a Sunday evening, I went walking in search for something relaxed for food. Being summer, I didn’t realise how late it was. I arrived at Cafe de Ceuvel at around 9.20pm but they allowed me to get an order in. A vegetarian restaurant using locally sourced produce, the surroundings are hippie chic, but it works and feels comfortable and relaxing. What you need after a long Eurostar journey. The servers were impeccable, fun, and lively. I ordered the Lemon Pearl Barley Risotto, with green asparagus, yellow zucchini, with crispy oatmeal and a birch vinaigrette. The dish was so light and refreshing. The citrus was just the right level to renew my palette and went amazingly well with the glass of Zeebonk beer. I followed this up with a main course of Nettle Saag Paneer, with raita, zarda millet, and naan bread. Creamy and light, but filling and wholesome. What a dish to help me doze off to the land of Nod when I returned to my hotel. This place is perfect for a summers afternoon lunch! I plan to return.

Llegué al Café de Ceuvel alrededor de las 9. 20 horas pero me permitieron realizar un pedido. Un restaurante vegetariano que utiliza productos de origen local, el entorno es hippie chic, pero funciona y se siente cómodo y relajante. Lo que necesitas después de un largo viaje en Eurostar. Los servidores fueron impecables, divertidos y animados. Pedí el Risotto de Cebada Perlada y Limón, con espárragos verdes, calabacín amarillo, con avena crujiente y vinagreta de abedul. El plato era muy ligero y refrescante. El cítrico tenía el nivel justo para renovar mi paladar y combinaba increíblemente bien con el vaso de cerveza Zeebonk. Luego continué con un plato principal de Saag Paneer de ortiga, con raita, mijo zarda y pan naan. Cremoso y ligero, pero abundante y saludable. Qué plato más delicioso para ayudarme a conciliar el sueño en la tierra de Nod cuando regresé a mi hotel. ¡Este lugar es perfecto para un almuerzo en una tarde de verano! Tengo pensado volver.

Had a very nice meal with my family. It was busy so the service was a bit less. Not everything arrived at the same time and had to ask twice where a drink was, but that is to be expected with the crowd at the bar.

It's a vegetarian restaurant( I'm not a vegetarian) prices are reasonable, portions are good size, and the dishes were interesting. I wish there was more flavor. Bitterbalens were gooey Don't expect a quick service, but everyone was nice and we got a table in a few minutes on Friday evening. Reservation are recommended

The location is truly delightful! In a quiet and cozy spot, not very touristy and silent, directly overlooking the canal (if you only drink and eat snacks you can sit right on the pier, for dinner instead you sit a little further away from the water). Staff average with Amsterdam. To eat we had: bread meatballs (very good), farinata with pepper cream (good) and blini (which instead disappointed me, too many flavors all together). Recommended for a quiet evening outside the center

De Ceuvel is a cool, creative breeding ground, nice to sit outside and feel like you're away from the city for a while. But this afternoon I noticed how ridiculously child-unfriendly it is here. Why not one or two children's dishes on the lunch menu? We had a four-year-old child, who was hungry and thirsty (hence hangry), and apart from cake and ice cream there was nothing to order for him. I asked (begged!) at 15:15 if we couldn't order a portion of fries for him, but no: that was only possible at 16:00. In the end he got a slice of dry bread: butter was also only available from 16:00. That was of course nice of the service, but come on: why have a children's cappuccino on the menu and no vegan meals that children would also enjoy, or at least a bit of flexibility from the kitchen? Not something I would repeat with friends with children.

Those mushrooms bitterballen with their own craffed Ceuvel beer with that view and that bonfire at the end of the day in those awesome boat chairs on the pier lookong at the sunset was sooo nice and relaxing! Thanks for that magical moment! Nice to have this place more accesible now with the new metro station.

MY NEW FAVORITE SPOT IN AMSTERDAM! I felt like Amsterdam center is full of touristic spots or super fancy restaurants.This was perfect - the location : secluded, hidden, beautiful atmosphere. Went for drinks out in the sun but also to dinner one evening and the food was super well thought out and so tasty. Will definately come back next time i’m in town ❤️‍🔥

Great location and atmosphere, you should definitely walk the boardwalk and read the interpretive signs that tell about how the space was converted from a shipyard to artist and entrepreneur studio spaces. Walking around Amsterdam Noord was less industrial and more scenic than we expected but even if we just came here for this cafe it would have been worth it! We got lucky by showing up 10 min before they started serving dinner so they seated us under the big tent, and it was clear that we probably wouldn’t have made it in that night without a reservation if we had come later because it really filled up. We had the mushroom bitterballen, the risotto, and the gnocchi. All were great. The main dishes had quite delicate flavors and the bitterballen came with nice strong mustard.

After a year I went back again. The quality is consistent: Surprisingly good vegan food in an inspiring environment. Cozy and like a living room, including an easy chair and a purring cat. Moreover, I have rarely (maybe never) experienced such good service in an Amsterdam restaurant. Fast, friendly and flawless. The audience was diverse and not noisy. Everyone feels at home here.

Super nice alternative free space with a beautiful view over the water. All nice creative projects that are growing and flourishing there. Reminds me a bit of Fourth World which was born at the old warehouses on the water near Bickers Island as a new breeding ground for artists. I have very nice memories of that. Unfortunately almost every free space was nipped in the bud in Amsterdam so really happy that places like this still exist in Noord! The food was also very tasty, especially if you are vegan. The potato pie is really recommended. Nice people in the service and reasonable prices. Furthermore, it is not far from the ferry to Buikslotermeerplein. 🫧🪽🕊️🦋🌈🎉🎈🎶😻

Nice location where you can moor. Service is not service. You must order and pay via QR code. Everything is vegan, gender neutral WC. Nice concept, but not for me. Quite a cozy place. Unfortunately, I didn't like those oyster mushroom bitterballs and that has nothing to do with vegan because vegan food when it's made well is delicious!! On to PapaThang, where the owner of De Ceuvel often gets his food! Nice indeed. We'll still get beers here. Maybe not food ;)

This is a lovely little oase in the middle of Amsterdam North.

Era una primavera muy soleada incluso cuando visitamos, nos sentamos afuera y tuvimos bebidas y ”snack food”, teníamos tres platos pequeños entre los dos, todos igualmente deliciosos. Los sabores eran todos interesantes, las salsas que venían con los platos muy diferentes. La mejor comida que tuvimos durante nuestra estancia de tres días en Amsterdam.

De spitskool salade en aardappel taart waren ongekend goed! Niet iets wat wij normaal zouden bestellen, maar zo blij dat we dit hebben mogen proeven! Absolute aanrader! Met zoveel detail klaargemaakt en een feest van smaken! De bediening is super vriendelijk en gezellig en de plek aan het water spreekt voor zich! Het concept is geweldig! Wij komen zeker weer terug!

The Ceuvel had the most interesting and lovely vegan food. I was well surprised. Thoroughly recommend. The outdoors are amazing and get the evening sun. At the sunny side of the IJ.. just a bit further than the IJ itself, but also on the water!

Funky cool spot, lots of space for the kids to explore (fairly) safely. We had a few plates for lunch and everything was delicious - especially the beans with labneh, and cabbage salad was great with bites of salty lentils and capers. Appreciated all the signage around explaining the collective and how they’re running the spaces - really interesting and informative. All outside tables were full but it was very relaxed on a sunny weekend midday, which I loved.

Really very nice and well-kept place, it was very cold so we didn't take advantage of the external part which is wonderful but we moved inside the place for a drink. All the waitresses were very kind, friendly and helpful. Definitely a place to return, we liked everything and prices in line with those of the city.

A very very nice discovery for this restaurant. Already the service is very good, the staff are smiling and pleasant. And the food… it was simply excellent! The snacks to share are really very good, the starters and dishes with daring but very fair combinations. I advise you to share to maximize discoveries. And for desserts, don't let yourself be taken aback by the menu which announces mushrooms or even artichokes. The balance is astonishing! Some starred restaurants sometimes do not offer vegetarian menus that are as well constructed.

One of my favourite meals ever. Such a creative menu with so many flavours but they somehow all work! I never thought artichoke would work in a dessert or vanilla would work with savoury gnocchi but they do!! Can't recommend it enough. Our waitress last night was also superrrr lovely and we had a nice wee chat :)

Wow, exceptional flavours and 100% vegan. Throughly enjoyed a delightful evening with friends over some sensational plates of food. Everything was of a phenomenal standard, the chefs clearly have a lot of fun creating dishes that are both delightful to the eyes and enjoyable on the palate.
