We sat and 2 minutes later lady told us to leave because we didn’t order( she didn’t even ask what we want and we were checking the menu still) After that she said that we are not allowed to put our bags on the chairs (it was a one small bag and one extra chair) implying that it will scare the customers that wanna sit even tho there were NO customers I kindly said that I will take it if there are people coming and she started screaming at me Definitely a 0/5

Fantastic cafe! Especially for Henk and Arie, only had to miss it during our visit. Every advantage has its disadvantage, so have to come back soon!

This is a great place to have a beer in the late afternoon and watch the canal go by. It is located in the Red Light District and is very lively at night, as well as being close to the train station.

We ate a typical Dutch cake and it was very tasty. The service was great and the music was very lively too!

I recently visited Café de Hartjes in Amsterdam, and I can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere is cozy and charming, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious, but what really made the experience unforgettable was the service. Claudia, our server, was amazing from start to finish. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome the entire time. Her recommendations were spot on, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. If you're in Amsterdam, do yourself a favor and stop by Café de Hartjes. And if you're lucky, Claudia will be there to make your visit even better!

On April 7, 2024, while waiting at a coffee bar at Schiphol, I had an unexpected and pleasant meeting with the owner of Café De Hartjes. Both traveling, me on the way home to Greece, we started talking and she told me about her company. Amsterdam is always my favorite destination when I visit family in the Netherlands and I will definitely visit a number of times during my stay. Always up for new destinations in Amsterdam and I have put Café De Hartjes at number one on my wish list for my next visit to Amsterdam. If the atmosphere and food are as enjoyable as the affable owner, Marilyn, then I will definitely visit more than once. Update on my visit and experiences will follow this fall.

At the end of 2018 we took a whistle after an outing in a pub populated by some locals. Beautiful barmaid serves with a smile and small talk. Sietje gave you half an hour per drink! Then it's time to give up or a new one: 'you're occupying a stool'. 2020 The owner gives a tropical touch. Good atmosphere in a relaxed pub. 2023 A sweet local pub of 2 Indian sisters, including Merlyn and Hillary :-) In 2024. Has it changed? No, not a single bit. It's still the same nice pub in Amsterdam :-)

A typical Amsterdam brown café. Charming place, with a nice atmosphere. The public is fairly mixed. Admittedly, the place is in the red light district, although it's at the far end of the district, but many locals go there for a drink and a chat. But it's also frequented by tourists. The staff are professional and very friendly. A great place to relax and enjoy a beer in the heart of Amsterdam Centre.

It's easy to get ripped off. The drinks menu sometimes doesn't match the prices.

We were very comfortable, we had a very good dinner with good Dutch food and good music.

Very helpful lady, lovely and beautiful sisters who helped my wife and I. Unfortunately I experienced a major panic attack outside for other reasons. These kind people helped me, I was on the verge of collapsing. Thank you to both (sister next door at Mister Meatball)

We wandered into this little corner hangout during an overnight layover and had the best time. Hillary and her staff are an absolute hoot! We ordered mojitos, per the sign that names them as best. I’m not kidding, it was the best mojito of my life. Each part of the drink was made with care, and it will be in my dreams….

Klein homely kroegje op de hoek van de Wallen. Hier lekker met biertje op het terras gezeten Wat een top uitzicht op straatjes en de grote diversiteit aan voorbijgangers. Met alle geluiden en geuren die bij de Amsterdamse binnenstad passen. Bij De Hartjes een voortreffelijke bietenstamppot gegeten met grote homemade gehaktbal.

Gezellige sfeer waar je rustig kunt zitten en van je drankje kunt genieten. Goed personeel. Top.

Een typisch Amsterdams kroegje op het hoekje van de wallen. De vrouwen achter de bar en "keuken" zijn top, zussen, en heel goed en vriendelijk. Niet allemaal gaan, want is niet groot, ook terras niet, maar een top locatie! Echt genieten!

A sweet, laid-back little pub with a friendly vibe and terrific service. Located off-the-beaten-path in Amsterdam, near Amsterdam Centraal Station and just outside the red light district. If you're hungry, order in a bite from Mr. Meatball just 2 doors down. Definitely worth spending a drink or two.

Klein maar supergezellig en gastvrij café! En gelukkig niet al te veel toeristen. Wij komen zeker terug!
