The ribs are gluten-free, and they are also very tasty!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. The mixed ribs were tasty, though the smoked ribs stood out as the highlight. The onion soup was also excellent – definitely a must-try.

Always the best steak house in amsterdam

It wasn't the same as before. We ordered 550g boneless ribs, and although the meat was already half-cooked, it arrived raw. We sent it back twice, and then the meat became rubbery. We left the meat as shown in the picture. They mockingly said they'd give us a beer for 60 euros worth of meat. If the decline starts, no one can stop us.

This is truly one of my top three favorite places in Amsterdam. Their baked potato is to die for and their meat is stellar. I always order a French onion soup wherever I go if they have it and the French onion soup is one to try to beat along with their escargot. I suggest getting there 30 minutes before they open as there will be a line.

Every time that we travel to The Netherland we stop and visit in this asowme restaurant, this time we was the first customers to came in, Everything was just perfect, and also we found new way to go back to the Amsterdam Central Station, by Tram just behind the corner.

My favorite ribs and beer in Amsterdam. Rivals the best ribs I’ve ever had - including across the US and Asia. Frequently a wait required and be prepared for playful banter w the host and staff. (Don’t get offended easily.)

Absolute Amsterdam staple. Service is incredible and even went above and beyond, completely out of their way to help accommodate us when we arrived late on our last day in the country. Best ribs you'll ever have in your life, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is an immersive dive into what made Amsterdam to begin with, a densely nautical and seafaring city built by sailors and traders.

A fantastic restaurant in the center of Amsterdam. The place has a great atmosphere and is perfect for meat lovers. The ribs are simply fantastic and the best we've ever had. The service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable for the location and quality. Reservations aren't accepted, so you might have to wait for a table, but it's worth it, and you can do so at the nice pub across the street, where they'll ask you if a table becomes available.

Best bar to visit in Prague. Deserves its name!

The taste and price were as expected. You could see the kitchen piled high with pre-made products, like potatoes and various meats, and the bar pouring drinks. The seating is a bit limited, so if you want to dine around lunchtime, it's best to make a reservation.

That was delicious. I really liked the original ribs; the meat was tender and easy to chew. The staff were lovely and cheerful.

The meat was so bad, it had all the nerves in it, I couldn't chew it. I told the person in charge, but there was no change. I drank 0.75 liters of sparkling water for about 10 euros, which was more expensive than wine.

Incredibly good ribs, better than I've had anywhere else, and they fall off the bone. We've been back three times, each time for food and drinks. The atmosphere is 10/10. The bartender is charming and delightfully sarcastic. For beer lovers, I recommend the Manke Monnik (Manly Monk); it pairs well with food, but you can also slurp it down easily without a bite.

what happen to café de kloss. 27€ for 8 ribs so 3.5e each and a size of literally 5cm per rib... before you ordered ribs and you could not finish... very sad and disappointing

Got 2 spare ribs. One was bland and felt reheated with quite burnt parts. Other one was tasty but its texture was pretty chewy like chewing a tire. I don't really understand how these spareribs are hyped honestly. Mediocre at best. Another complaint i have is paying 8.6 euros for a pint of amstel. That price is nowhere to be found in the menu. Notice that menu mentions 4.6 euros for an unknown amount of amstel. Quite a ripoff I'd say. You can get much better food at a better price in many places, I'd recommend to skip it.

Our waiter was very sarcastic. He told us what to order. He made fun of us for being on our phones. He threatened to take away our beers saying we were behaving like 12-year-olds. He made us laugh a lot. If he’s not there the next time Im here, Im not coming back. Great food. Good laughs. Go. Classic ribs win over smoked. Dont ask for it to be well done and then order the chicken instead. Be strong.

Cafe de Klos is a very quaint and cozy pub in Amsterdam that we definitely recommend. We went there and tried the spare ribs, which were truly delicious. The portion was generous, and the meat was tender and juicy. Another plus point was the fast service. Our food arrived promptly, which isn't always the case in such a busy restaurant. The ambiance is rustic and invites you to linger. All in all, a great experience for lovers of good meat and a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Nice small and cozy place to chow on ribs and drink beer 🍻 (small selection). They take no reservations, so be early. If place is packed, they have a waiting list you can ask to be signed up to. Their ribs are, so far, the bests I've tried in Amsterdam center. I recommend the mixed ribs! Still need to come here for other dishes (ex: lamb shoulder) but I always succumb to the ribs :'(

The beer and raw vegetables are delicious. The spare ribs are quite variable. Some are perfectly cooked, but the other half are so raw they're inedible. Upon request, I returned them to the chef, who clearly disagreed and presented them again after a minute on the grill. The food didn't improve. The chef clearly can't handle criticism, and my advice is not to order spare ribs here. The prices are also exorbitantly high.

It opens around 4:00 PM. The interior is really beautiful. I recommend the lamb shoulder—it’s cooked in a tandoor and it’s truly delicious.

Service was fast and friendly. Steak was delicious. Potato was perfect. Handled gluten free request with no problem.

We arrived before 4:00pm they opened on-time as there was already a queue forming outside. Very small dining area, bar seating and wall seating (stools lining the hallway wall with small ledge for eating). Open tiny kitchen where all the prepping/cooking/dishwashing is done. A normal full bar and friendly quick service. Our steak was done as requested (med. rare) and very tasty. Got the classic ribs and were dry rubbed so it was tasty and tender- on the drier side with little fat. Would have loved bbq sauce on the side instead of the white garlic sauce and the Thousand Island sauce (weird) . Enjoyed the baked potato and chopped salad with a sweet vinaigrette. Plain French bread slices accompanied meals- no butter. Outside seating available. Friendly service.

Zona de comedor muy pequeña, asientos de bar y asientos de pared (taburetes que recubren la pared del pasillo con una pequeña cornisa para comer). Cocina pequeña abierta donde se hace toda la preparación / cocción / lavavajillas. Un bar completo normal y un servicio rápido amable. Nuestro filete se hizo como se pidió (med. raro) y muy sabroso. Conseguí las costillas clásicas y se frotaron en seco por lo que era sabroso y tierno - en el lado más seco con poca grasa. Me hubiera encantado la salsa de barbacoa en lugar de la salsa de ajo blanco y la salsa de las Mil Islas (raro). Disfrutamos de la patata al horno y ensalada picada con una vinagreta dulce. Las rebanadas de pan Francés acompañaban las comidas - sin mantequilla. Asientos exteriores disponibles. Servicio amable.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend for its grilled pork ribs, and it definitely lived up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They politely asked what we’d like to drink and eat, which made us feel right at home. We ordered a bowl of French onion soup and a mixed platter of grilled pork ribs. The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor and cooked to perfection. They even provided us with extra cutlery without us asking, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The service was top-notch, and the prices were very reasonable. We paid a total of €60, and it was well worth every cent. Highly recommended!

Hands down the single best Ribs meal in my life. Dry rub ribs were the size of a base ball mitt and the bones pulled strait out of the meat perfectly clean. Awesome onions with dips as sides and great beer to boot. MUST VISIT IF EVER WITHIN 100 MILES OF THIS LOCATION!!!!!

Staff attitude is very impolite. Guests do not greet. Guests ask questions but do not answer. Very bad experience

I don't know if the food is good or not but the attitude of the staff made me feel it was really boring. Kind of contemptuous of others. And arrogant because they are being rated well in some communities. However, that is in the past, not the present. A small, cramped, dark area. Unpleasant attitude. The food probably only pleases the easy-going Europeans who do not focus on taste because life does not have enough time for that. It is sad for those who listen to fake reviews and miss out on other great restaurants in Amsterdam.

Whaaaaat a place!!! Tempted by all the good opinions I wanted to check it out myself, and it matched every single compliment I read. Friendly & helpful service providing good advice on the menu, food show happening right in front of our eyes, the smells, the atmosphere of a food celebration. All at very relaxed atmosphere, almost pub-like. Very, very good!

I've been here a few times. Great food. It's pretty much all meat on the menu. Great atmosphere. It's somewhat small so try to be there around opening time to get a seat.

I visited because it was famous, but the atmosphere and passionate staff were good. The food was more ordinary than I thought. The charcoal grilled meat was just as expected, and the other food didn't feel that special either. If you want a noisy and exotic pub feel, this might be a good choice.

If you ever wondered what its like to having shaking ovaries, even as a man, go here. The ribs are insane and if you've never tried smoked ribs before you can try them here. Besides the ribs, the beers are mouth watering, which is good because you can wash that water away with the beer. Very nice hospitality as well

Best kept secret in Amsterdam. We stumbled across this little gem 4 years ago. The owner had the bar across the road and we were looking for a place to eat. I would like to thank the bar tender who i have forgotten his name but WOW what a find. This was a Saturday night. As you have probably already read you can not book. First come first served. But yes we went back the next night and have been going back every year. This will be our fourth year this year. Monday June 30th 2025. Cant wait. This little gem has so much character and hasn't changed for years. You sit at the bar or at a few tables and no need to ask for a menu as you can have stake or ribs and a few starters. If you are like me and love both you will not be disappointed. Best i have ever eaten and all my friends that have been with me agree. It comes perfectly cooked over open pit which you can see and smell. With a side of jacket potato with the best garlic butter you will ever taste. Taste sensation on its own wow. Three dips and a small bowl of salad which again the dressing to die for. You will be defiantly be full afterwards. If you are in the area it is a must place to visit. I hope i have sold it to you all. You must check it out. Cafe De Klos see you in 10 days time.

Recommended by a friend to visit this restaurant for their pork rib and I would said its above average. I would suggest order the normal one as the smoked one is abit too salty imo. The staffs are super friendly and arranged an outdoor table for us which was cool to sit and enjoyed the food and people watching. Price is also reasonable and I would recommend if you are at Amsterdam Central and want to have some meat.

Small but superb place. Lamb shoulder - GO FOR IT. Great and fast service, amazing, funny waiters! It is always full so don't be in a hurry and be prepared to wait a bit. Highly recommended for mear lovers!

A must visit and taste the ribs!

Spareribs were OKAY. Not bad. Not great. Flavor needs work. Bit fatty. Sauces need to go… the red / pinkish orange one is like a salad dressing. Gross. The white one is ISH like ranch… Had a craving for ribs and this one came up as having consistently good reviews… I would say that this is okay if you’re in the zone and need something quick. Not something I would go out of my way for. Glad I tried it. Likely won’t return

Lamb Shoulder was a little more well done and charred then my liking but it was definitely good. Small restaurant, we were seated promptly and served pretty fast. The service was excellent. I think the prices are a tad higher than they should be but you are eating quality food no doubt about it.

I don't know better spareribs. Really delicious! You do have to take into account waiting time because you can't make a reservation, so take some time for a visit in the weekend. They have a nice pub and the combination of having a drink in the pub and then eating delicious food is worth it and fun. Their own beers also taste really good. It is also funny that the restaurant has a brown interior.

Good food, rude waiters. In fact, very rude. We were greeted by a very rude waiter, it seemed like he was working under duress or that he didn't want us there. Then I heard a waiter's response from the table to a couple with a child that made me want to get up and leave. My low rating is due to the terrible service experience, the food itself is good and the beer was good. Would I go back? Probably not.

This restaurant is a complete disappointment. When I passed by on May 24th, I wanted to ask if there were any reservations for the following day, but the person on duty (who is unknown — waiter, manager, owner?) responded by yelling at me, berating me, and being extremely aggressive. It is truly incomprehensible to what kind of business sense it is to use such an aggressive tone before a single guest even opens their mouth. It is unacceptable to speak to a woman in such a disrespectful, uncontrolled, and rude manner. What if the food was great? I would never set foot in that place after being treated so disrespectfully. I would never want anyone to be treated like that. If there is a business that normalizes this kind of behavior, it is finished for me. I want everyone who goes there to know: If this place has any reputation, it starts with the manners of its employees. And that is not the case here!

The spare ribs were amazing! So good I went twice. I also ordered the baked potato and a pint of beer. Being from the States having ate good bbq all my life I would say Cafe de Klos is right up there with the best southern bbq!

The smoked spare ribs are genuinely the best spare ribs I've ever had. The restaurant has a very relaxed vibe. You can't make reservations, you just show up, register on the waiting list and enjoy some great local beers and jenever in the associated pub across the street until the restaurant staff comes to pick you up.

Nos encontramos con un amigo de la universidad aquí para cenar y no decepcionó. No hay reservas y la espera puede ser larga, pero vale la pena. Hay un bar hermano al otro lado de la calle en el que se puede esperar y conseguir una bebida para pasar el tiempo. Tenemos un poco de todo para la mesa y acabamos de compartir. Las costillas eran de lejos las mejores y por lo que son conocidos, pero el filete y el pollo tampoco decepcionaron. El pan venía con mantequilla de ajo de siguiente nivel que mi hijo no podía dejar de comer. El ambiente es acogedor y no hay un montón de mesas. El personal era genial también. ¡No dudaría en volver!

It's a unique place in Amsterdam, where everything is perfect. The local atmosphere, the friendly and efficient service, Kim's intelligent supervision and humor, and the food! The meat is delicious, and the French onion soup is better than in France ;-) They have an excellent beer list, and the house red wine is a great accompaniment to the meat. Everything is perfect!

Not only the food, but the portions are also large and they are very friendly! I went at opening time and there were 2~3 groups there :)
