Busted my butt down the stairs so be careful. But the staff were kind made sure I was okay and gave me a shot for the pain!

Ridiculous treatment on a Sunday evening. The bartender started out very friendly and occasionally came to sit with us, even giving us two rounds of drinks on the house. Suddenly, he became very angry and aggressive and, without asking, showed us the receipt, which showed far more than we'd ordered. When we pointed out the receipt was incorrect, he promised to "beat us to death if we didn't pay." When he got nose-to-nose with one of us, he was pulled away by our own security. Ultimately, two drinks were deducted from the receipt. A shame for a usually pleasant bar.

Cannot recommend. At first glance, the venue appears authentic — but the experience quickly betrays that impression. The terrace was empty, yet I decided to take a seat to avoid the rain. Before my order even arrived, I briefly stepped inside to use the restroom, only to be asked to pay immediately. That alone signaled a lack of trust — and of basic hospitality. I had ordered two glasses of prosecco, which were eventually served lukewarm. Instead of a sincere apology or any form of corrective gesture, I was given an excuse: the fridge wasn’t working properly, and the prosecco was “mainly used for spritz anyway.” The staff member then began openly complaining — about colleagues not doing their job, and to neighbors about bicycles parked near the terrace. The atmosphere felt unprofessional, inattentive, and entirely lacking in warmth. I’ve always believed it’s the host’s role to attend to the guest — not the other way around. We left after a single sip.

Yesterday I had a truly shocking experience here. I was dragged out of the establishment by the bouncer without any explanation. When I calmly asked why, I was given an extremely rude and insulting remark: “You need a dick in your mouth.” I have never experienced anything so disrespectful. What makes this situation even more absurd is that I am convinced they had the wrong person. When a friend of mine started filming what was happening, he was punched in the face by one of the security guards. Fortunately, everything is on film, and we are going to take legal action against this. After this incident I started reading other reviews and it is worrying to see that several people are reporting misogynistic, racist and aggressive behavior from the staff – especially the bouncers. Based on my own experience, I can only confirm this. Such practices have no place anywhere, certainly not in a public place.

You can find a place to socialize near the canal. The staff is super friendly and organized. It's worth spending the night there :)

We arrived and within 2 minutes we had a nice beer for you in a good atmosphere...that's how it should be and all those grand café businesses can learn a lot from that...just had 2 bad experiences before that, so that's why I was extra happy then haha

MY FAMILY AND I BEFORE DINNER SINCE OUR RESTAURANT WAS NEARBY, WE STOPPED HERE AND TRIED THE LIMONCELLO SPRITZ, WELL WHAT CAN I SAY I TRIED OTHERS IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS AND HERE I FOUND THE BEST! CONGRATULATIONS, I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE

To drink a beer after the meal, we had an excellent musical time there!

The barman is incredibili rude, not fit to deal with people. Bar is quite dirty too. At least music was nice

Beautiful, old and quaint pub in the heart of Amsterdam. The Heineken is well stocked and costs €7. The staff is friendly. The café is located right in the city center and is easily accessible.

Mijn stamkroeg. Kom hier al heel wat jaren, verschillende personeelsleden gezien, maar altijd weer fijne mensen die er werken. Je wordt persoonlijk gegroet en je leert de mensen echt kennen. Top locatie en top kroeg. Ook kun je hier naar ajax wedstrijden kijken.

Kleine Kneipe mit entsprechender Stimmung. Preislich in Ordnung. Man kann hier definitiv das ein oder andere Kaltgetränk zu sich nehmen. :)

Heerlijke een-op-een benadering, van tijd tot tijd zelfs live muziek met een van de bar-heren, aandoenlijke sfeer en altijd gezellig!

Leuke toko met leuk personeel. Altijd gezellig!

Nice typical Dutch cafe. Dont expect none of that cocktail bar rubbish though! Note authentic details in the ceiling...
