Cool place. Fun games and a nice screen for watching football.

Walked in and immediately fell for the place. Cool bartenders and charming customers. Good vibes all around. A couple of Frank Zappa songs on the radio. Love this spot and will absolutely be returning.

A very bad service. I sat at the bar for ages, and ended up walking out!

We were looking for a cafe to play games, and what a find this was! Cozy cafe with the largest collection of games I have ever seen. People come here to play games or chess while enjoying a nice drink. We will definitely come back!

Café de Laurierboom is an absolute must-visit for chess players! The atmosphere is perfect, cozy and inviting, making you want to stay for hours. The food and drinks are excellent, the service is impeccable, and the people who visit make the experience even more special. On some nights, the café hosts a blitz chess tournament (5-minute games) with up to 16 players competing in 10 matches. It's an amazing experience for those who love the game and want to test their skills at high speed. Definitely one of the best bars in Amsterdam!

Cozy cafe that still feels Amsterdam and you can watch Ajax well. It's a shame that Ajax played so poorly, but the staff couldn't do anything about that

Great Cafe...where you can play chess, have drinks and have fun ! ....if you are in the neighborhood a sweet Cafe to spend your evening.

I just had a couple of beers outside. No food at the menu look pretty standard with bitterballen. It’s a unique bar/brown café and that it caters to people who play board games and chess. While I was there, there were a couple of groups, playing board games inside and a couple people playing chess outside. I just had a few IPAs and watched some chess. I would say it’s better to go with a small group, it doesn’t really let itself to just drinking and eating. That’s all for now.

Gezellige plek om bordspellen te spelen met een drankje. De sfeer is daardoor luchtig, rustig en aangenaam. Alle tafels waren bezet met mensen die aan het spelen waren, heel leuk om te zien. Grote keuze uit bordspellen. Zeker een plek om weer heen te gaan.

Little place for a drink away from the stimulating lights of Amsterdam.. Locals were so friendly and the bar man was friendly also!

Eten is alleen op donderdagavond. De rest van de week beperkte kleine barkaart maar in overleg met personeel wel mogelijk om eten te laten bezorgen
