I received a warm welcome, and although I was alone, the relaxed atmosphere made me feel comfortable and at ease. The food was also good. Such a lovely place, thank you.

What a gem of a traditional Dutch café! The moment you step inside, you feel it: humor, conviviality, and pure Amsterdam fun. This is the kind of place where everyone is welcome. And then, of course, Amsterdam's one-of-a-kind jokester: laughter guaranteed! Highly recommended!

What a lovely cafe! The food was delicious!! And for a good price. A fun pub where you can also enjoy a delicious meal and where you won't be looked away after you've finished. We'll definitely be back! Thanks Arie and the ladies.

Had a fantastic time at Arie's. When I made the reservation, I was already cracking up, haha, about my vegetarian daughter 😂😂 The food was great, and the fries with special herbs were delicious. The prawns were delicious, the satay was delicious with a tasty satay sauce, the prime rib was very well prepared, and the chicken skewer appetizer was also very good. The service was excellent and very friendly. They also have vegetarian options, such as fish and a veggie burger with stir-fried vegetables and prawns, of course. The fries were super well-fried with the special fries herbs. In short, a highly recommended place to eat, and a super cozy atmosphere!

Yesterday I tasted the spareribs for the first time. The tastiest and most tender I've ever tasted! Until now, that was in Curaçao, but now at De Amstel! You only had to touch the meat with a knife and it fell right off. Plus, there's that Amsterdam atmosphere and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Incredibly delicious and tender beef. It was cold on the table, but that was a risk I took, and the benefits surprisingly outweighed the cold meat. And it was busy, so I factored that in. You look out over boats sailing by. The heat lamp upstairs also created a warm atmosphere outside, under the awnings. Good service. Everything fits perfectly within the price.

We had a delicious lunch this afternoon. The homemade meatball sandwich is highly recommended! The ham with honey-mustard sauce is also delicious. It's a cozy traditional Dutch café with friendly service. Next time, we'll try the tournedos!

I really like the place and I would like to visit more often, but I really feel that they don't like foreigns (non dutch speakers) they dont seem very friendly to us. We felt unwanted.

The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a night out. The steak tartare is definitely recommended—fresh, well-flavored and perfectly prepared. The service is friendly and attentive, which only makes the experience better. In short, a restaurant where I will definitely return!

Well-known café from Arie the joke teller on Radio538. Very small real Amsterdam cafe. We were only there for a drink. Real in-crowd where everyone knows each other. If you are not used to this you will not really feel welcome.

.. how can i review café de amstel ? this place is perfection. walked in feeling very delicate after the night before. ari ( probably spelled wrong ) welcomed us, poured some weissen and cooked me a beautiful fillet steak with jus ( gravy ) and some bread to mop said jus. BREAKFAST OF THE GODS. he's a great host. thank you for a breakfast i will never forget

I happened to walk in on a late Sunday afternoon after a matiné of Wende in Carré on the way to my hotel and I didn't regret it. I fell in the middle of the Amsterdam Sing-along afternoon. What fun. OK, all the guests had already ordered something to eat so I could only order after an hour, but with a few beers in between that was no problem at all. Arie's jokes were good, as were his tournedos with bread and fries. Recommended!!!

A pleasant café to the eye, but once inside this unfortunately quickly changed. We came in with a large group, and we already received a look as if we would rather not be seen. When everyone had found a spot and placed their order, they did not act properly. With a large group there is understanding for paying for the drinks in advance, which I had done nicely (an amount of €9.80 to be precise). Then only a small part of the drinks arrived, after which we waited patiently for the rest of the order. After 10/15 minutes I politely asked if something had gone wrong by accident, and you were looked at as if you spoke a different language. In short, money was gone and no understanding for the missing part of the order Like this..

I laughed my pants off and the food was far beyond expectations. What a great tent.

One Sunday in July, café found during a walk through the neighborhoods, a pretty little terrace along a canal perpendicular to the Amstel. The boats dock and passengers come to have a drink or a bite to eat. Very well-known café in a very quiet area. It was a good time spent on this terrace.

Today was a day in Amsterdam, we almost didn't get further than Café de Amstel! What a nice and cozy pub! Not to mention the food, which was absolutely delicious. Nice friendly guests and very pleasant staff. Amsterdam Summer is on the program tonight, but afterwards we will definitely go back to the Amstel for a beer! Arie and the other employees, thank you for the pleasant afternoon and the delicious food.

Unfortunately I have to report differently, the Cafe looked great, but the bartender had some nonsense on her mind and went to tell us what to do with our bikes. I didn't like her behavior at all and have been with her for a few years now! First visit, but done with it straight away! Oh yes, she wanted to prove that she was a real Amsterdammer! Well she didn't pass, I can tell you! Shame! Fortunately, the jokes on 538 are better than the bar staff.
