My girlfriend and I ordered a matcha latte and a flat white, it was actually very tasty, nothing special, just really good coffee/matcha. I would like to mention the really cool milk, I don't know where they get it from, but it's really delicious. It's also really nice that they give you a small piece of some kind of cake as a gift, it was really nice!

It is easy to be tempted by the beautiful sandwiches and facades of the neighbors, but Samen is the absolute winner of this row on Bos en Lommerweg. The coffee and food are perfect, and the price and staff are friendly!

Very good quality of the food and coffee. Cute place and reasonable prices. The sleeping cat was our greeting to the restaurant. We had a veggie omelette and the bacon, cheese, pancakes.

Wonderful spot for brunch - my wife and I enjoyed their selection of sandwiches, I really enjoyed the hot chicken sandwich with avocado, the barista lady made fantastic coffees. Recommend 10/10

Very disappointing experience. The wait is extremely long, even for drinks so long that we ended up asking to take our order to go. Staff are not friendly and don’t try to help, just saying they might forget things. The food is overpriced for the quality. When we asked about our order, they seemed annoyed and rolled their eyes, with no effort to fix the situation. Not recommended.

went for breakfast, i got the pancake with bacon and cheese, they forgot to give me the maple syrup but i went to ask for it and they gave it to me without any issue. very tasty but missed the syrup for like half of the dish haha my friend got the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and bacon, she said it was good but a bit basic and little quantity for her taste the terrace they have is super comfy especially when there's sun!!

Food is good and service is nice, loved the terrace place with the sunny day. The only inconvenience I would say is my toast compared with other spots in the area is a little too small. it was good quantity of food, but in the picture you can see that it’s sliding off the toast, cause there’s no room for it. We had pancakes, but syrup was not there until we asked for it, but they very kindly assumed their error and apologized and gave the syrup right away. We also had iced lattes and they were great oat milk no foam.

It was very good and the lady was nice. Unfortunately, we waited half an hour for a croissant, and everyone who arrived after us got theirs sooner.

A cute and quaint cafe away from the hustle of central Amsterdam. I got the tuna melt and bolo juice and they were both delicious!

The interior is spacious and beautiful, the food is very good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. Don't hesitate to stop by if you're in the area.

My partner and I stopped in for some late breakfast and got some pancakes and french toast. They were both absolutely delicious, but paled in comparison to the surprise of Sushi popping out and watching us eat. The food could have been absolutely atrocious (it wasn't) and the cat would have made up for it all. Certainly recommend for the food/coffee, but highly recommend for the cat viewings. We'll most certainly be back.

Great place to get a real cooked breakfast. A refreshing change from other cafes which only have pre-baked goods. The coffee was good but very strong, two shots in a mug that wasn’t big enough for a large flat white.

A lovely lunch spot run by friendly ladies. I arrived with a stroller, and they helped me figure out where to place it in the small space. A delicious tuna melt for €8.50, so reasonable prices by Amsterdam standards.

Outside seating was good option for a warm day. Food was excellent for breakfast/ brunch. Very warm and friendly service but a little slow to ensure table was clean on arrival and cutlery was present. Would definitely visit again.

Always happy to find a place where I feel very welcome, cozy and where the food is proper. From coffees to breakfast combos to sweets. Amazing stuff + extra bonus is that they have great gluten free options...their almond-lemon cake was delish!

The cafe name is written small so it is hard to see from a distance but it is right beside a snack bar called Samar. The eggs on toast are lovely, walnut and banana cake yummy and the Bolo smoothie is one of the best smoothies I’ve had in a long while.

I absolutely love this café! We live nearby, so we come here regularly. It’s a bit of a hidden gem in the neighborhood, especially with two trendier cafés close by. But if you appreciate a classic coffee shop vibe—cozy, relaxed, with authentic people and, of course, a lovely cat—this is the place for you! They have the best apple pie I’ve ever had in Amsterdam—so soft and delicious. Their other cakes are also great, and they offer affordable breakfast and lunch options, which is rare to find at these prices in Amsterdam. Highly recommend!

We have been there twice now and both times it was great! The atmosphere is so relaxed and the food was delicious! In addition to coffee and tea, there are varied juices, love it!

I regularly go to Samen for my coffee and a few snacks, i have never been disappointed. Great coffee and great vibe, plus there is an adorable cat.

Very nice place, with good coffee and awesome smoothies. Maybe the main dishes/sandwiches are a little bit basic, but hey it's the Netherlands. I recommend the pancakes, and if you want eggs, the deluxe option (the regular ones aren't enough)

This very friendly and cosy place remains our favourite spot in Bos en Lommer. Great coffee (with specialty beans from a local roaster), fresh juice smoothies (we recommend the 'Vuller'), baked items like croissants and scones, sandwiches and salads. Small place, nice terrace out the front and friendly staff. Very popular for a reason. Definitely recommend it.

This is our favorite spot in Bos en Lommer! The staff is so so lovely and the food is amazing. It’s very affordable and coffee is good quality, the vibe of the place is just great. Also try the scones cause they’re sooo good 🩷

We came here based on the good reviews and undoubtedly encountered overwhelmed staff. I don't know if it was due to a lack of strength that day, but one waitress didn't even have a smile on her face and the other at least tried. Our table wasn't cleared until the very end (we were there for over 1.5 hours), let alone wiped. (The gentlemen in front of us left a pile of dishes at the table) The children's chairs were completely dirty and everything at the tables next door was mixed up. After a good half hour our food arrived, which was undoubtedly fantastic! Super delicious omelet, vegan yogurt, etc. We would really like to come back because of the food, in the hope that the staff will have the strength to do their job again. Because this time you hardly dared to order anything, the lady with the glasses was so annoyed.

Lovely spot in our neighbourhood. Been going for years. Great options for brunch type dishes (eggs a number of ways!), awesome juices selection (I recommend the Vuller, delicious). Excellent specialty coffee and baked goods and perhaps above all, the people are fantastic. Lovely outside terrace too! I highly recommend Samen!

We just move the west side of Amsterdam and we really like doing brunch here. I think we come here already 2-3 times within less than a month. The atmosphere is really relax and the staffs are helpful. We love their smoothiesss! The price is reasonable. This place will definitely be our first choice when we would like to do healthy brunch somewhere near our home!

A very nice inexpensive place for a quick lunch or coffee. They've got a good internet connection, so I come there also when I need to work. Might be a bit cold if it's cold outside.

Excited by positive reviews, my girlfriend and I decided to try this brunch spot. Disappointingly, we endured a 15-minute wait for our juices and a staggering 45 minutes for only two sandwiches. To add to the letdown, the sandwiches weren't as tasty as expected and appeared hastily prepared. The extended wait significantly impacted our overall experience.

Best cappuccino in Bos en Lommer. One of the last places where coffee is not burned and acid. For us Italian is the last fort of tasting cappuccinos. Keep going!

My favourite place in the neighbourhood. If you are looking for a place where you can go regularly and feel at home, this is it. Every day you see the local faces here, staff is very friendly, nice selection of juices and smoothies. Menu didn’t change much over the years, but that’s the charm of Samen. I know people who claimed that tuna sandwich from Samen is constant of their life. Prices are very affordable, kids and pets are welcome.

First time visiting and I had Chickpea salad for lunch! I was so hungry so I finished it all 😄 Big plate with a variety of veggies💚 It was veryyy delicious! I especially liked the cauliflower. 10 euros were worth it ☺️

Enjoyed a nice break at Samen with work colleagues. Very nice atmosphere and good juices, also the benches outside are perfect for a sunny day. Staff is attentive and polite. Food is tasty and fragrant and was made fresh. My only concern here is that serving one single pancake (American style, not pannenkoeken) is off. Please stick to a stack, or at least two of them. Serving one is barely enough to taste it.
