Tourist trap, bland and unappetizing food. The waiter got my order wrong and when I complained I was met with unpleasant remarks and looks.

We happened to walk by this restaurant while making plans for an easy and convenient casual dinner. We decided to go in and, wow, did we find the right place for what we were looking for! Excellent food at reasonable prices, great music and outstanding customer services (awesome vibes and dialogue with Abi - he really made the dinner a real fun event for us, especially with providing us with his recommendations of food items to order, as well as with talking about the great tunes playing in the restaurant while we ate). He made our dinner a very enjoyable experience that created more positive memories for us of our stay in Amsterdam. Thanks to Abi and his colleagues for all of their efforts!

Popped in here for something to eat and a drink after a long, long day exploring Amsterdam. The bartender was friendly. My husband had spied the TV showing football and, as there was the Ajax v. Benfica game happening that night, he hoped to watch that, only to find they were showing a different match!🤷🏻‍♀️ Ordered beers, Bitterballen, Kaassouffle and loaded fries. We did have to wait quite a while for the food to arrive, but the kitchen was teeny weeny and only one person working there. Our food was ok, but we both agreed that it wasn't a place we'd be likely to come back to.

Just bought a burguer and The owner charged me 20% more and end of chat. Good good but service scams tourists , specially If paid by credit card. They should have said before, at least so I could decide If I would get It or not.

We stumbled past this place on the way to find dinner. The music was incredible, prices were incredibly reasonable and the vibes were lovely! The most memorable place we ate and drank in Amsterdam! (as a vegetarian I also greatly appreciated menu items being clearly listed)

Me and my partner came across this lovely spot on our first night in Amsterdam. The calm and warm atmosphere seemed inviting from the very busy street. Needless to say we were incredibly happy with our experience. So much so that we came back 4 more times over our 3 day trip. The gentleman, who I assume is the evening manager (sorry we didn’t catch your name) was extremely pleasant and charming. We had a moment where my partner fainted next to the cafe early one evening due to low blood sugar. As a young couple on our first ever time abroad, it was a frightening moment for the both of us. Had it not happened outside this cafe we may have been in trouble. The gentleman came out with sugar syrup water. When my girlfriend came around had us sit by the window inside so she could recover, the staff also bought us a spoon and a bottle of honey to help her. We were reassured and comforted by all the staff. We both are incredibly grateful for your help. Thank you. Besides the brilliant people working here, the food is amazing and the drinks are fantastic. Good menu, each dish we had was executed perfectly. Each drink was served exactly how you’d want it. Stop by this place and you won’t regret it. HUGE Thank you to all the staff, we will definitely be back next time.

Wow what a lovely brunch for a decent price. Right in the heart of Amsterdam you really feel apart of the atmosphere while enjoying a delicious ham & cheese omelette

Better not... Ordered a burger and fries. The burger with supermarket cheese costs €1.10, but it's not listed on the menu. Drink prices aren't listed on the menu either. Guinness was €8.50. The fries with cheese were returned. When I paid, he asked if I liked them. When I told him I didn't, he wasn't interested. I think locals don't shop here.

Very nice place right in the city center. The food isn't anything special or overly elaborate, but it's still tasty. The beer is phenomenal! As for the service: always attentive and attentive, I recommend it for a quick stop.

Not a recommendation. The waiter was obviously forced to work. Not a smile, not very motivated. Everything above 2,5m was very dusty. Especially the ventilators are covered in dust and blow it through the room. The napkins were already dirty at the edges. The restroom is very narrow, the soap was empty. The dishes were okay. Prices for Amsterdam are reasonable.

Stopped here for breakfast and food and service were great. Food arrived quickly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices are a lot cheaper than most of Amsterdam but it as good as anywhere else and breakfast was fresh and filling

Bar was great and Abi was awesome - welcoming, drink selection is top notch and friendly in an area that’s pretty hectic. If you wonder through red light snd want a chilled place with good drink selection, and a smile, this is the place!

No prices posted for beers. Food So-So. Just waiting to pay... bear with me. They charge a Euro for using your card. (is that even legal?) €7.90 each for a beer.

I don't recommend this restaurant, we arrived a little late of course but we barely had time to sit down and settle down when the waiter was already there asking us for drinks. 30 seconds later he came back to ask us for the dishes, no one had chosen, we told him and he stayed looking at us, very oppressive when basically we just came to have a good time. The dishes not served with the accompaniments no presentation, done in a hurry. The wrap is tasteless unlike the burger with jalapenos and guacamole which is good. We didn't feel welcome at all. EVERYTHING IS PAYABLE! So if the waiter asks you for extra tomatoes or cheddar he won't tell you but it's charged! Finally, when leaving, he told us that we could only pay together and that he would not accept separately because he wanted to close his restaurant faster. I won't come back and I recommend no one to go there unless you want to have a bad time.

The food wasn't really good and wasn't made with love. The dishes were dirty. The staff seemed friendly at first, but later became more demotivated and annoyed. It seemed like they didn't even want to cook. Plus it's not very hygienic. One of the staff even had his beard trimmed behind the counter. In addition, the door at the entrance was not allowed to close despite the cold temperatures. This was to the dismay of several guests who asked about it. Maybe okay as a bar but not for eating. I don't recommend this to anyone.

They're up against it here as it's so tiny and the 'kitchen is literally a griddle at the end of the bar so service is very slow. Worse than that, the order for 1 of our group of 4 was missed but since we'd all got our meals at different times and had a booking to get to, we had to leave it. There was a slightly embarrassed apology but no solution offered. As it was, the omelette was tiny and runny, the English breakfast not great at all, coffees were tiny and they get the 1 star for the chicken burger as apparently it was "ok". Sorry, cafe de pool, I hate to leave negative reviews but you might want to read through these low stars and think about how to improve 🤷🏻‍♀️😕

Inexpensive, friendly atmosphere and nice beers. The playlist is fire! Really recommend especially in a place where it's really expensive to eat. They also gave us recommendations for places to visit!

A nice cheap greasy burger and some relatively cheap beer, plus classic American rock gives it a good American vibe, if you're looking for any of those things.

I am extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. They are totally dishonest, everything is extra but the waiter does not indicate it (ketchup €0.90, cheese €1.30, ect...) 30€ for two for food straight from the freezer, we would have been better off going to McDonald's! Considering the price, we weren't expecting great cuisine, but the extras all without warning were unacceptable. When I tell the waiter that he lacks transparency when making the bill, he doesn't even have the respect to answer me. To avoid, I do not recommend at all!!

Tonight, I went to this cafe with a friend of mine. I ordered yeni raki (a type of Turkish liquor), and I told the waiter I wanted it on the rocks. He insisted I had to take it with water, because it would turn white when water was added. He would not let me order it undiluted. I was quite frustrated about this, but he would simply not let me drink it without water, so I finally gave in, because he was so pushy about it. Then he brought me the drink with an opened bottle of mineral water, instead of tap water. I was pretty angry about this, since it meant I would be forced to pay several euros extra for a bottle of mineral water that I didn't even want, which I clearly told him, that he insisted on. Not going back to this place. Also, the toilets are unsanitary.

A rock-solid pub in historic Amsterdam to enjoy a Guinness, Grolsch or other beer and snacks such as fries with various toppings or whole burgers. The music and atmosphere are pleasant and the staff are friendly.

Food was okay, staff asked if we wanted our burgers with cheese/ketchup, failed to mention this is an additional charge, so any extras they ask if you’d like are not complimentary. Do not do split bills! No sign or warning out front only found out when we went to pay.

They charge 1€ extra if you pay by card. I chose to pay by cash and they (conveniently) paid back 2€ less. Service was a bit rude as well. Food is overpriced. Does not worth it.

Was charged €25 for two drinks, both tasted watered down and the guy was rude. Spoke to his friend after I paid and laughed about it, would avoid. Staff also clearly didn't practice personal hygiene.

Incredible place, delicious food, good atmosphere. The staff is amazing, helped in a very difficult situation. Big respect to the Ukrainian girl from Kharkov and the guy who worked with her on 30.09.
