Café d'Ouwe Tak in Blaricum

Ben wel vaker in de Oude Tak geweest en dan was het eten altijd bovengemiddeld. Deze keer was het eigenlijk zeer, zeer(!) matig. Heb er spijt van dat ik net mijn buitenlandse vrienden niet naar dat andere Blaricumse eetcafé gegaan ben (Moeke Spijkstra). Het zal heel lang duren voordat ik het nog eens ga proberen bij de Oude Tak. Afknapper!

Vriendelijk personeel. We kwamen voor de kalfslever maar helaas. Uitgedunde kaart met weinig gerechten. Van armoede een trio van koude vis gegeten, paar stukjes forel, paar stukjes gerookte zalm, wat rivierkreeftjes, geroosterd brood, 18,75 euro! Slechte kwaliteit-prijsverhouding.

Tegenvallend, menukaart vergeleken met vorige week drastisch ingekrompen. Weinig keuze zowel in hoofdgerecht als nagerecht. Geen biefstuk op de kaart, wat een tegenvaller. Ook geen kalfslever ( bij navraag vanwege vakantie !!!!!!!!). Voorlopig geen bezoek meer bij dit restaurant. Waarom gooi je de tent niet dicht als je niet aan bepaalde voorwaarden kunt voldoen ? Dit is slechte reclame. Afsluitend : kwaliteit eten prima.

Heerlijk gegeten met zijn vieren op lekker druk terras. Bediening was top en heel vriendelijk. Ook parkeren vlakbij restaurant.

We had made a reservation for 7:15 PM and were shown to our table. Drink orders were taken and arrived quickly afterward. The sandwich we requested also arrived shortly after. However, 45 minutes had passed before we received our menu. Finally, we asked for the menu ourselves (sorry, but this is way too long). It took at least 20 minutes for our order to be taken; we were almost ready to leave. Another 20 minutes later, our starter arrived. It was delicious. It had been half an hour before the table was cleared, and we sat for quite a while with dirty plates. It had reached the point where we almost left. At 9:30 PM, we finally received our main course, which was again excellent. We regularly visited the old branch, partly because of the friendly atmosphere, the attentive staff, and the food, which was excellent value for money. Unfortunately, we didn't experience this last time. The price has really gone up considerably: €25.50 for a schnitzel? Seriously? I was shocked by the bill. It's a real shame that a successful café/restaurant has deteriorated so much. I understand that it was busy due to a party at the OBB. It would have been nice if they had let us know that it might take a little longer. Then we could have made our own choice. The reservation email stated the end time was 9:15 PM. Personally, I don't like this; it didn't work out, and that wasn't our fault. We're very sorry for this experience. To be honest, I won't be back anytime soon, unfortunately.

Harde houten oude stoeltjes, biefstuk zoon was bedorven en stonk biefstuk van mijn man héél taai. Mijn zalm was okay. Voorafje was goed.

Always had a nice and tasty meal here for a normal price. Today I ate entrecote that I can make at home with better quality, broccoli and cauliflower overcooked, price went up considerably! Not my restaurant anymore!

Excellent café restaurant. Lots of atmosphere and perfect service from the ladies. Not pretentious like Moeke. We haven't dined there yet, will come. Our favorite place in Blaricum!

Had dinner with friends for the first time after the takeover. What a disappointment! Not much has changed in the interior, only the billiards are gone. The friendly, experienced service is nowhere to be seen. The service that is currently running there is inexperienced and insecure. And...not very accommodating. Cleaning the place while you are still dining, it was around 10 p.m. and the opening time on Saturday is 1 a.m. Had to walk to the bar myself to order something. The food was okay, raw steak when ordered medium, asparagus soup with egg and ham where the egg was missing and the ham was sliced ​​so paper thin and cooked that the taste was completely gone, fries that had been fried again making them tough, etc. The table was not cleared and the cutlery was forgotten for every course. The atmosphere in the new 'Old Branch' is gone. There was a soul in the 'old' Ouwe Branch and it has completely disappeared. Very unfortunate!!

It really is a wonderful café, first have a drink at the bar and then enjoy the tasty dishes. You will be surprised every week with new dishes outside the menu.

What a nice atmosphere here in this super cozy cafe. Delicious food and drinks for a great price. There were four of us and we had two dogs with us, no problem, that's fine. We will definitely eat here more often.

In the past I ate at least once a month. Went there twice after the takeover and it was a disappointment. Quality of food was much less. The hospitality of staff was also disappointing.

The old branch is no longer what it used to be. Went there last night with 8 people. We were really looking forward to it, had not been there for 3 years due to circumstances, but had previously left regularly and always happy and very satisfied. We were looking forward to it. But what a deception... - All dishes were cold or lukewarm, both starters and main courses. - snails were also lukewarm, and after it was returned (warmed up), the accompanying sandwiches were gone. - all dishes so much smaller portions (but the same or higher price) - the fish pot was a vegetable pot: not a piece of fish to be seen! and mealy tasteless sauce full of carrot and broccoli. - Spare ribs have little taste, but nice tender meat. There was hardly any difference between the spicy and sweet. What a minimal portion. Where have the old branch options gone!? - Ordered 2x tenderloin: medium, were also cold and raw on the inside, returned and then we got back a completely well-done dry piece of meat - prawns were gone (half empty restaurant on Friday evening?) - instead of a steak, one of us got a mixed grill. Followed by the rest of the table I wanted to wait, but because the food was already so lukewarm, that was not an option. We all took turns eating because of that. - wine was delicious but the empty bottle was not replaced, empty glasses were not taken away. - We had to ask for water twice - breadboard (empty) was not removed from the table. - no spoons with the fries (the tasty thick fries have been replaced by small bowls of thin salt-free fries), so place the fries on your plate with your hands. - garlic gravy with the tenderloin was really super salty and not real garlic gravy, it was gravy with some raw pressed garlic on top. - Requested gravy separately in a bowl, we were not served meat in the gravy. very friendly staff, it was all eventually resolved financially by the (understaffed?) staff. No coffee, paid and left. Sorry old branch, we won't be coming anymore.

Our first visit to this restaurant, and probably our last. The chicken was uncooked and the French fries were rock hard. Avoid food poisoning and eat elsewhere.

Celebrated my mother's birthday with a group. I ordered sweet spare ribs, they were well cooked but had no taste. If you eat this you should get dirty hands and a dirty mouth. The fries were so hard you couldn't get them on your fork. What a disappointment this was.

We had a delicious meal at d'Ouwe Tak again tonight. A cozy restaurant with good quality food. Always a holiday feeling when we sit down. Portions are large and that is a big plus in our opinion. We come here regularly and will be your guests again soon. Thanks again! Edit March 2025 - unfortunately the Ouwe branch deteriorated after the takeover. Portions are smaller and prices higher. I also miss the old atmosphere. Unfortunately, it is no longer a go-to restaurant for us.

Had an excellent meal tonight at Café d'Ouwe Tak. Just old-fashioned good like the previous times I ate there. Casual atmosphere..nice to eat at your leisure at d'Ouwe Tak. Reservations are recommended these days.

Unfortunately never again... I wanted to have something to eat but that was no longer possible due to the crowds. We were allowed to sit outside. We sat outside and the waitress told us that we could only order some snacks outside. No problem, we did this then. Then after 50 minutes we still had no snacks. We asked about this at the bar and were told “no, that won't work anymore because it is too busy”. Too bad they hadn't said this half an hour earlier. Waitress was also not nice or customer friendly. Very unfortunate.

Never again! Waited 45 minutes for appetizers that never arrived! The staff didn't say it wasn't coming anymore and was very unfriendly.

Tja, laatste bezoek was vóór de overname. Nu na bijna een uur moesten we zelf om de kaart vragen... voorgerecht uiensoep een zielig pannetje met een bodem superzoute soep iets raws bovenop. na de helft niet verder gegeten. Na een lange tijd het hoofdgerecht op zich prima. presentatie fantasieloos. Dunne friet vork erin en het spatte uit elkaar. Je besteld friet geen chips. 4 personen 2 salades? Jammer dat het zo enorm is teruggevallen. Van top naar twijfelachtig.

What a nice thing this is! We often cycle past here in the summer and say to each other, 'We should have lunch here sometime'. It was now dinner. We had schnitzel, tuna, diamond tenderloin and ox hair tips with a not too strong red Malbec. The vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate (dame blanche) was the icing on the cake for me. Beautifully prepared and everything tasted great. The atmosphere is friendly and you immediately feel at ease. And last but not least, the employees are very friendly and cheerful. Cheers! :-)

Real old pub/diner. Including local visitors and super friendly service. Since 1961. Deliciously simple and good food. Recommended.

Slecht! prijskwaliteit droevig! Smakeloos, kleine portie’s Zeker niet meer voor herhaling! Duidelijk de liefde en de passsie die in het eten werd gestoken is verdwenen en ook zeker de kwaliteit van de producten. Begon al met het broodplankje waar is het smakelijke brood gebleven met de lekkere smeersels! Wij kwamen er regelmatig maar dit was de laatste keer!

Very cozy tent. Great atmosphere. Onion soup is great. We had to wait a long time before we could order, but I think this was a coincidence or a misunderstanding between the staff. What was negative is that we received 1 very small bowl of "salad" with 6 people. That was the only vegetable that came with it. They can still make a big step in that area. Furthermore, absolutely recommended.

Very unfortunate. Have eaten at the Ouwe Tak for years with complete satisfaction. There has been a sharp decline since the takeover. For us it is about closing and shutting down.

Great restaurant. Lots of choice in meat (carpaccio in advance, 8 main courses of meat ranging from satay, tenderloin, specialty steak stroganoff) and coupe of farm boys (with ice cream from De Hoop). Also fish and vegetarian dishes. And 5 types of beer on tap (including Brugse Zot, Texels, Texels bok, etc.). In short, enjoy!

Disappointing, it's not what it used to be.

Old Tak is no longer what it used to be. Food less, was not warm. It says grilled tuna with stir-fried vegetables!! Well, that was barely 1 tablespoon of stir-fried vegetables. Steak strips straight into a bowl with drippings on the side. Nothing else, no vegetables. Too bad I always enjoyed going to the old Branch, but now that it is in new hands it was the last time.

Wauw wat is het duur geworden! Een broodje met boter € 7,50 belachelijk! Het eten was lang niet zo goed als voorheen en veel duurder. De porties waren veel kleiner, bijv 5 kleine stukjes ossenhaas, nog geen 100 gram. Jammer, toch wel een afknapper, wij gaan volgende keer naar een ander restaurant.

Helaas, kan beter worden omgedoopt naar de Ouwe Vrek. Minimale porties van mindere kwaliteit en een spectaculaire prijsverhoging. Kwamen hier altijd graag en vaak maar dat is helaas voorbij. Einde van een leuk tijdperk! Dit gaat de nieuwe eigenaar niet redden met dit beleid.

You immediately feel at ease and the entire environment exudes coziness. Sufficient choice on the menu. Not haut cuisine, but that wouldn't fit here either. We opted for the sirloin steak and fried liver with the accompanying grilled vegetables, salad and fried potatoes accompanied by a nice glass of wine. Even though all tables were occupied, the service was smooth and friendly. Grab a cup of coffee and happily settle down after a few pleasant hours. Excellent price/quality ratio. My daughter comes here often. You have to know because it is somewhat remote outside the center of Blaricum. A great place that I will definitely visit more often and that I can recommend to anyone who enjoys fun and good food and drinks.

Wat slecht is dit geworden na de overname, slechts 4 tafels bezet, zeer matige kaart, friet is ook bittere armoede en ook nog een betalen voor een extra schaaltje. Houten borden is zeer onhygiënisch geen leuke opmaak etc. We komen 3-4 per jaar met een groep van 8-10 personen, vandaag was de laatste keer, niemand van groep vond het nog leuk. Jammer dat het management zich alleen richt op geld verdienen, dus geen lokale leveranciers meer allemaal groothandel spul, maar wel hoge prijzen

Vanaf juni 2024 niet meer bij de Ouwe Tak gegeten. Kan me bij de andere beoordelingen aansluiten dat de kwaliteit prijs en portie verhouding zeer bedroevend is. De prijs is te hoog voor een eet café het zijn restaurant prijzen. At er samen met mijn man 2x in de week komen er nu niet meer. Personeel is gastvrij vooral Jacqueline lopen het vuur uit de sloffen. It's a shame that a cozy cafe where we have been regular customers for over 40 years has now been reduced to a commercial revenue model by the new owner. We understand that everything has become more expensive, but here both the menu and the prices have become a reflection of commerce and profiteering. Great little bar and restaurant with excellent service and food

Trouwe fan van De Oude Tak en bijbehorend personeel. Personeel nog steeds helemaal top maar prijs/kwaliteit zwaar achteruit gegaan na overname door nieuwe eigenaar. Voor vier personen kregen we één mini soepkommetje friet en één mini soepkommetje salade met één half gekookt eitje, terwijl op de kaart staat dat alle hoodgerechten vergezeld gaan met friet en salade. Biefstuk en ossehaasountjes werden in een bakje zonder garnering geserveerd, zodat het vechten werd om het kommetje salade. Volgens personeel onderdeel van ‘het beleid’. Daarnaast ondanks melding van noten allergie toch kletskop koekje met pinda in ijs gekregen, terwijl de (pas aangenomen) serveester bleef volhouden dat het geen noten/pinda’s bevatte. De ervaren serveerster was fantastisch maar de rest is helaas zwaar onder de maat.

Zwaar teleurgesteld. Altijd heel grote fan van d’ouwe tak maar na vanavond niet meer. Er was een nieuwe kaart, flinke prijsverhoging en slechts 2 Vega opties. De geitenkaas salade was waterig en had verder geen ingrediënten dus smakeloos. Daarbij de vleesgerechten op houten borden, staat leuk maar verre van hygiënisch. 1 kommetje friet voor 2 en 1 klein bakje salade. Ontzettend jammer want het personeel en met name bij ons de geliefde Jacqueline werken zo keihard en altijd vriendelijk en hartelijk. Vind het pijnlijk dat deze toptent na overname zo helemaal zijn glans verliest. Hoop dat ze tot inzicht komen want wij zijn voor nu daar echt uitgegeten.

Altijd een grote fan van de ouwe tak geweest. Onlangs weer eens met vriendinnen daar gegeten. Helaas niet de ouwe tak zoals we die kenden en waardeerden. Prijs flink gestegen en wat ik het liefste bestelde (biefstuk stroganoff en varkenshaas sateh) niet meer op de nieuwe menukaart. Een heel klein schaaltje friet voor 4 personen. Wil je meer dan betaal je voor nog zo een heel klein schaaltje 5,50 euro. Groente apart bijbestellen kost 6.50 per persoon. Serveersters zoals vanouds kundig, snel en vriendelijk. Eigenaar gemaild, na 2 weken geen enkele reactie. Voor ons geen volgende keer bij de ouwe tak, zo jammer!

Wij aten al jaren naar volle tevredenheid bij de Ouwe Tak. Sinds de overname is het restaurant erg achteruit gegaan Eerst denk je: ach ik verbeeld het mij maar ook door waarnemingen en reacties van kennissen, vrienden en van mijzelf moet ik concluderen dat het allemaal een stuk minder is geworden. Een aantal vrienden heeft de Oude Tak de rug toegekeerd en wensen er niet meer te eten. Ze vinden het te slecht. Allereerst wil ik zeggen dat het personeel zich het vuur uit die sloffen loopt en altijd zeer correct en vriendelijk is. Maar de kwaliteit van de gerechten is sterk achteruit gegaan. Ik weet dat er een wisseling van vleesleverancier is geweest en dat was om te janken. Nu is er een betere leverancier maar niet zo’n goede als voorheen. De schnitzel is nu ook niet meer wat het was en/of niet goed gebakken. De gebakken lever is van mindere, zeg maar gerust slechte kwaliteit en in hoeveelheid gehalveerd. Er wordt geen salade meer bij een gerecht geserveerd, na de salade werd het een rauwkost bol, toen werd het een rauwkostbolletje, ook weg en afhankelijk van het gerecht wisselt het of er nog een plukje groen bij zit. De Hollandse garnalencocktail is van de kaart maar bestelde we al langere tijd niet meer. Het bleek het overgrote deel avocado te zijn (getver) met wat garnaaltjes er boven op. Voor gebakken aardappeltjes moet nu 4,75 betaald worden en dat is op zich niet zo erg maar de hoeveelheid die men dan geserveerd krijgt stop je bij wijze van spreken in je holle kies. We waren een keer met vijf personen en bestelde gerechten waar friet bij geserveerd werd, er werd 1 bak(je) friet neergezet en we zaten de friet uit elkaars mond te kijken. Uiteraard hebben wij subtiel het e.e.a. aan het bediendend personeel laten merken, zij doen hun uiterste best maar zijn ook gebonden aan de opdrachten die ze mee krijgen. Los van het feit dat de grootte van sommige gerechten verminderd is, is het ook merkbaar welke kok er in de keuken staat. Een kok maakt of breekt je bedrijf. Wij weten ook dat je je klacht meteen moet melden maar als je op uitnodiging of met vrienden zit te eten wil je avond niet verpesten door je bord naar de keuken terug te sturen of op dat moment te gaan klagen. Bovenstaand bericht naar de OuweTak gestuurd met een teleurstellend antwoord. “Zij herkende het wisselende kwaliteitsniveau maar zijn een ander soort organisatie. Het zoals hun dat noemen “veel voor weinig” is niet voor hun van toepassing en gaan op korte termijn meer dingen veranderen zodat het voor de klanten duidelijk is dat zaken anders zijn geworden. “ Dus gezien hun reactie gaat de kwaliteit nog meer achteruit. En hebben wij het gehad met de Ouwe Tak. Heel jamner!!

We have been coming to the Oude Tak for at least 20 years, but yesterday 20/06/2024 we found the food a bit less. Iceberg lettuce goat cheese salad too finely chopped. Hardly any greens/salad with the satay We wondered if there might be another chef in the kitchen! Portions smaller and prices increased.Meat on wooden plate not hygienic. Shame

There were rumors that things had calmed down a bit after the takeover. However, we did not notice much of this ourselves. It was old-fashioned fun again and the food is still very good.

Met een gezelschap van 6 hier voor het eerst gegeten. Gezellig, ouderwets gezellig. Vriendelijke bediening. Niet geforceerd. Er werd oa gekozen voor slakken , courgettesoep met zalm en zuurkoolkroketjes ( erg lekker) vooraf en geitekaassalade, entrecote, spare ribs en kabeljouw als hoofdgerecht. Iedereen was tevreden. Persoonlijk zit ik hier meer op mijn gemak dan bij Moeke Spijkstra, maar dat is uiteraard persoonlijk. In ieder geval een prima ervaring

Very cozy and old-fashioned. Food and drinks are plentiful, the staff is friendly and helpful. We had a good meal here together and had a nice chat. We still had to go to a theater performance, which was amply taken into account. Please report this in advance so that the staff can take it into account. Highly recommended! This is also a nice location for larger groups, and there is plenty to see! We will definitely come back.

Delicious food, in a cozy atmosphere. Delicious warm crusty bread with tapenade and herb butter. A carafe of water was already ready on the table. The onion soup and veal liver are unsurpassed. All dishes were well prepared and beautifully served. The fries nice and hot. There were few vegetables with the main course. The staff was particularly friendly. The seats were a bit uncomfortable, but it was nice and quiet to eat in the back.

Celebrated a birthday with 16 people, it was well organised! Staff who think along and a great atmosphere, we were even allowed to bring an accordionist and decorate the place nicely. Excellent food, highly recommended!

Have been a regular guest in the old branch, but since the takeover early last year the quality of the kitchen has deteriorated rapidly, portions smaller, quality less and prices higher. Steak €25.50 inedible, dish of fried potatoes €5.50 burnt. Too bad, it was always a nice thing. After commenting, I was told that there is a new meat supplier and a self-employed chef. Folks, what a great tent this is! Delicious satay from real pork tenderloin (not those greasy chicken thighs), tasty bock beer, friendly service and decent prices! Fans of vegetarian dishes will also feel at home here.

Are here when staying with a friend. The menu isn't huge but the food and friendly service is exceptional. Simple, very tasty, and plentiful all served in a relaxed setting. I'd love to eat here again, it's the best food I've ever had in the Netherlands

Vandaag voor het eerst hier geweest, we liepen er stomtoevallig langs tijdens een wandeling. Wat een leuke, sfeervolle oude tent! Attente bediening en zeer redelijke prijzen. Nooit verwacht dat zoiets nog zou bestaan in een plek als Blaricum.

Leuke plek voor een drankje en goed eten

De Chefkok tovert altijd mooie culinaire gerechten tevoorschijn! Het is één en al genieten, lekker eten in een mooi authentiek bruin eetcafé 🤩🍴🍾🥂😋.

Met de familie daar gegeten, mam is 80 jaar geworden. Erg gezellig en heerlijk gegeten. De coquille s als voorgerecht is echt een aanrader

Ouderwets gezellige bruin café en prima eten voor een zeer goede prijs

Professionals runnen bedrijf. Service uiterst vriendelijk en bekwaam. Niet onbelangrijk een interessante en veelzijdige kaart. De gerechten worden smaakvol bereid en erg mooi met overtuiging op een bord gedresseerd. De sfeer is informeel en ongedwongen.

Heel lekker gegeten (op zondagavond). Alles was snel op tafel. Super leuke bediening. We komen zeker terug!
