Great coffee, one of the tastiest cappuccinos in Amsterdam, delicious croissants, and super sweet and friendly staff. Special thanks to Carla for a super relaxing Sunday morning 😊 And of course, 5 stars for Karel the cat 😼

A lovely discovery with fast service and friendly, helpful waitresses 🙂 I highly recommend it, and all at reasonable prices.

The food was very good, but I felt like a foreign tourist! Two main courses and two beers for €72!!! The side dishes were charged extra and were rather mediocre.

We celebrated day two of our wedding at Cafe Kobalt and the team made sure it was a truly special day. Rosanne, Jesse and the team are wonderful.

Party l, what a fantastic place with super nice guests! We really enjoyed ourselves last Friday, November 7th. Very good wines, excellent service. We'll be back soon and will remain fans. A few months ago: A truly old, typical Amsterdam "brown café," so cozy and welcoming. Once you've been, you'll keep coming back. And they have a fantastic wine list, even available by the glass. Rarely good wine for a café. Also perfect for a fun date or job interview.

Kind staff, great food, awesome building and atmosphere. Went twice during my time in Amsterdam. Recommend the burger, avocado smash, and both croques. Reasonably price compared to a lot in the area—and some good variety of beer on tap. Highly recommend as a brunch/lunch spot.

Nice place, great atmosphere, and a lovely classic interior. Had a bad experience with the staff, who put themselves much more first than the customers. Hence the 2 stars.

Cozy place, very tasty food, authentic place, a bit noisy though

My family stopped in for a drink and snack. The local on tap beer was very good and the food was hot and fresh. We had the mixed plate of local Amsterdam appetizers which was great for 4 people. The only thing that lost stars was the server. She never smiled once, was less than happy about us being there and not very attentive. She did not make us feel any appreciation as a valuable and paying customer. Too bad really.

Beef burger and philly cheese steak sandwich were so delicious, one of the best I ever had! Even better than the ones I had eaten in the US. Service was good and quick. Highly recommend this place, location is walking distance from Centraal station.

Supervriendelijke en professionele bediening, leuk interieur, lekker gegeten. Wij waren er met 2 tieners, zij vonden het ook een toffe plek. Wij gaan zeker terug als we in Amsterdam zijn!

Disappointing service, decent drinks Stopped in with my two young adult kids for an evening drink on the way back to our hotel. A tall blonde server came to our table. When I asked for recommendations, he said they “weren’t really a cocktail bar” and didn’t even have a shaker—so, not much to suggest. (Might be time to update the Google description.) My son asked for Amaretto, and the server flatly said they didn’t have it. I ordered an Old Fashioned and asked for a few minutes so my kids could decide. The server left and never returned. Eventually, the bartender came over—and sure enough, I could see a bottle of Amaretto sitting right on the shelf behind him. So we ordered that and my Old Fashioned. My daughter, tired of waiting, skipped ordering altogether. To be fair, my drink was good, the vibe was lively, and I enjoyed the country music playing. The bartender was decent, but the first server was dismissive and rude despite putting on a “nice” front. Not the worst bar, but definitely not welcoming, kind of like all of Amsterdam.

I recommend the Kobalt Craft beer, excellent, sweet and fragrant.

The €37 snack platter didn't even include six bitterballen (meatballs). The pickles and nuts were also very sparse.

We ordered a large snack platter for €37, but we received a small one with only a few bitterballen (bitterballen) and cheese sticks, a little cheese, a few slices of sausage, some nachos, nuts, and pickles. It was very meager and not worth it. Very disappointed for the price.

Don’t go. Slow Sunday afternoon… waitress took 15 mins to realise we’d sat down. Only came over because she was putting ashtrays out on the table. Took our order with barely speaking. Didn’t pick up the leftovers on the table from previous customers. Got the impression the waitress wanted to be anywhere but here working. It’s a mistake to come here

Solo estuve allí brevemente ya que había utilizado las instalaciones y pedido un té. Tuve un cambio en los arreglos de viaje, así que necesité permiso para salir para resolverlos urgentemente. Señora era encantadora y absolutamente rechazado el pago, que fue muy amable de su parte. Gracias de nuevo por eso.

Rekommenderas inte! Nonchalant personal. Usel service. Från beställning till servering tog det mer än en timme. När maten kom var delar av beställningen fel och inkomplett. Burgarna var dock goda.

Very nice bar and Café. Ok, the tomato/Basil soup turned out to be potato soup, which was brilliant! And yes, very polite and nice waitress, who excused many times for the wrong, but perfect soup 😂!

The location is very nice but the service is very slow. Since we had a plane, we wanted to eat something quickly and ordered a Club sandwich, but it didn't arrive in 45 minutes.

Went here on Sunday for a second time - the Friday before was an excellent evening and I would give 5 stars for everything. But 2 days later how very different.. The young woman serving could not have been more disinterested in working . After informing her of our booking she went on to serve another customer, leaving us standing . When she eventually came to our table she didn’t ask for a drink order , didn’t know the menu (she didn’t know what soup of the day was and wandered off to ask someone ). I asked if the ribs came with fries , she said no, so ordered a side dish - the meal came with fries , which were lukewarm warm . We waited ages for the main course and noticed other customers got food before us though arrived later - she hadn’t put it through to the kitchen . Have very mixed thoughts about returning here . As I said Friday was a completely different experience .

Ontzettende slechte Croque Madame. Kurkdroog, volledig doorbakken ei en slecht brood. Saus was ook helemaal ingedroogd. Bediening was zeer vriendelijk, vandaar 1 ster.

A pretty cafe with a view of a small canal and Central Station. Really friendly and the food is good. I ordered a beer and a Bitterballen. The staff gave us a warm welcome and recommended a table on the terrace, saying the high chairs would be uncomfortable. The pleasant reception, delicious food, and local beer became my best memories from Amsterdam. Thank you~

My son (10 years old) had a hot chocolate and whipped cream. Forty minutes later he vomited and the hot chocolate and cream or the rest came back out. He was fine again a short time later. He hadn't eaten or drunk anything beforehand.

Café Kobalt zit aan het begin van 't Singel in een monumentaal 17de eeuws pakhuis. Gezellig en sfeervol interieur. Leuke bediening. In de herfst en winter is er live muziek. Zo ook op de zondagmiddag dat ik er was. Gezellige drukte, ik kreeg de indruk dat hier voornamelijk vaste gasten komen. Huiskat Kajuit doet al die drukte niet veel, die ligt er gewoon stoïcijns bij. Aanrader hoor, deze gezellige kroeg met ongedwongen sfeer.

Ik had een tafel online gereserveerd, maar bij binnenkomst in het druk bezette café bleek er geen tafel gereserveerd te zijn voor mij. Het eten liet lang op zich wachten en was uiteindelijk koud. Kennelijk was de ongeïnteresseerde en onvriendelijke serveerster vergeten om het uit te serveren. Het café ziet er leuk uit, het pand is prachtig, maar oh, oh, oh, die slechte bediening is een ramp. Als je klanten haat, waarom ga je dan in een café werken?

Recientemente regresé al Café Kobalt este sábado pasado por la noche (cuando enero seco terminó) después de varios años. Somos expatriados que viven en Amsterdam y siempre nos ha gustado ir a CK para la hospitalidad, Stella Artois en el grifo y sus muchos vinos varietales. Todavía es genial de una manera fría y nos sentimos muy bienvenidos de nuevo. Volveremos - Hartelijk bedankt, Café Kobalt!

El personal de Café Kobalt era acogedor y muy servicial y paciente con nuestro gran grupo. La comida era genial y a un precio razonable. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente para una cena relajada y para ser tratado como un huésped, no como un turista más.

Lovely, chilled Cafe/Bar near to the Station and our first/last post for every trip to Amsterdam. The choice of Beers is good, the staff friendly. I've scored the food slightly less as it can depend what time of the day as is not always hot when served, that may be at the busier times. Til the next time...

Busy, but boring on a Friday evening. Despite the potentially good location, it is a bit boring. They used to have special wines and tasty pub food.

Wanted to make a reservation for a group of 20. Smooth response from Rosana, all information and help with the menu. Top. Better than filling out another form.

Nice looking restaurant/pub located at the beginning of a very popular area for tourists in Amsterdam. Personnel is super nice, hamburgers are good, shared platters are a nice way to start a meal if you are in company and music selection tops all of that. Will stop by again.

Had a delicious sandwich. Also on gluten-free bread! Coffee was delicious too.

Great portions for their bites (we had the potato wedges and kava chicken), lightning fast service (about 1 minute from beer ordering to its appearance) and good atmosphere inside. Nice find near Amsterdam Centraal. Cheers!

Super quaint cafe, great service.

Had dinner on a Sunday evening, with live music. The food was very basic. The carpaccio starter. That was okay. I had spare ribs as a main course, the flavor of which was only on the outside; the inside was dry with no taste. A huge load of fries, with a small scoop of tasteless coleslaw. The others had bavette. It was tasty, but came without fries even though we asked for them. During our visit we mentioned several times that we were here for the birthday of one of us. Then I expect something special for him for dessert; congratulations with chocolate on the plate, a fountain or simply “congratulations”. None of that. Three courses, with as many drinks; €194.90. I think it is highly priced for what you get.

Service very slow and inattentive. After waiting for a long time at a table outside, we went in and asked if there was self-service, which was answered in the negative. Shortly afterwards a friendly waitress came to the table to take the order. Later, another waitress came to take the order as well. When we pointed out to her that her colleague was already there, she left without even looking at us or saying anything. She was similarly “friendly” when paying. Also quite expensive - even for Amsterdam.

Decent coffee, average environment, good service

They don't have many things on the menu, if you order a poached egg it is 'finished' but a different type of egg is possible...? We waited an hour for our food and there was hardly any staff walking around on the terrace. People who were after us were served earlier and were given the items on the menu that we had finished. The food itself was cold and tasted like plastic.

Stay away for beer Had my coffee first see below Then i order a beer and the short older barmen wash a glass in soapy water and didn't rinse with clean water and poured my beer. Five stars because the service was sweet. No fun: - Service: excellent, very friendly and accommodating. - Food: we were here for breakfast. Scrambled eggs with toast were very tasty, not seasoned, but salt and pepper were provided. That's the way it has to be! The yogurt was excellent and in addition to granola there was pineapple, honeydew melon and grapes - Cappuccino was okay, neither bad nor good - Green tea also tastes normal Prices were reasonable. Spent all weekend in Amsterdam frequenting many bars… This bar come out tops for a pint of beer €11 No sea view, but a lovely view of the ongoing roadworks 🚧

Have had a drink here many times and recently had dinner for the first time, surprisingly delicious!

It has a very interesting mix of dishes that I recommend. I found the service to be good but with some attendants not seeming to be having the best day, but it happens. The atmosphere is really cool and caters to all generations.
