Café Koosje in Weesperbuurt/Plantage

We had breakfast here, the atmosphere is good but the breakfast is just normal, but we also tried their pancakes and it was really delicious.

Horrible place! Very disrespectful staff. My mom ordered something from there and when she finished her drink they kept telling her to go outside even though she has luggage’s. They were very rude. I went and I asked for someone responsible to talk to. The bar girl shouted at me in a rude way saying that they need the table ( even though there was no one waiting and even when we left the table was empty) then she talked in Dutch and left me I don’t if she was insulting me. Such an agressive girl I’ve never seen that in any place in any country when we put you at the door when you finish your drink and should at you. The owner should consider recruiting nice persons as those one are clearly unable to handle clients and shout at people when the place is crowded and stressed. Never ever will go back to this and I don’t recommend it to tourists if they want to have a nice experience in Amsterdam and deal with the nice Dutch people that we met everywhere in this city except there.

The food was terrible. we had "stoofvlees". First they served it almost cold, than they put it in the microwave and it returned hot. But it tasted bad. My wife and daughter could not eat it at all. Apart from that the service was perfect and the atmosphere is great but will not return here!

Delicious food and very friendly and fast service

Great atmosphere and service. But beware the size of the pancakes. They are huge as some other comments mentioned! I recommend you order one and split it between two people. We had the bacon + cheese, and the Nutella one. Both were of great size but a little too greasy in my opinion.

Great place for Plantage tourists to eat at.

One beautiful morning we had our morning coffee and ate carrot cake! Which tasted wonderful!

Our recent lunch was disappointing after a good experience a few years ago. The hamburgers were too flat and overcooked for us. They were cooked more than medium, which we requested. So I asked for a little ketchup; they charged €0.50 for it. The service seemed inexperienced. We had to ask for the table to be cleaned, as it was very sticky. It was also sometimes difficult to get their attention.

This is an amazing cafe! Super good vibes. Likes Alma’s Perdidas’ in Miranda do Corvo. Truly a gem in Amsterdam for those looking for a good brunch and dinner place.

Traditional and rustic cafe with friendly service and lots of authenticity. The warm Brie sandwich was good. It is a bit cold and we could not order large wines or large beers. Nice atmosphere.

Delicious food. Charming place. Second time here in two days. Prices are medium-high, but the quantity and quality make up for it. A recommended place for brunch.

A solid place for lunch. Get the tuna with brown bread. Beers are great. The soup and quiche is also good.

I love when stuff is friendly, and these people are! They even continue speaking Dutch with me, even though I almost don't speak it. And a guy in my first evening was very helpful! And they have my fav beer drafted! Guys, if you didn't try, try Lellebel. It's so nice! But it's blond, so it's intensively fruity 🤤

Nice atmosphere. Good service. But the food was a bit disappointing. The fries were very salty and the steak wasn't medium, but well done. But definitely worth a return visit.

Italian roll with lots of sauce, a few slices of smoked chicken breast slapped on the bun like a thick slice. Some old avocado, tomato, and lettuce were served with it. Surrounded by a mountain of chips. Unimaginative and sloppy, therefore not tasty.

This café is located on the corner near the tram stop, near Artis Zoo. It has a cozy atmosphere, delicious cappuccino, and the carrot cake is highly recommended.

great cafe, really liked the atmosphere

Great simple pub food. Male server with dark brown hair and glasses behind bar making coffee very unfriendly, -1 star for him. Female with light brown hair was great. I also did wait about 15 minutes for someone to come out and say hi / give a menu... So can't give 5 stars despite a delicious beer and sandwich.

They served tap water on request which I really appreciated. The beef Croquettes were tasty and very hot The bitterballen were quite in similar to the croquette, being friend meat/gravy. Also very tasty The kaasbitterballen were cheese versions of the bitterballen and were similarly very tasty The Dutch Pancake was a lot like a crepe, and came with powdered sugar you could add. It was well cooked and tasty. Great value!

We visited the restaurant in the evening and were very pleasantly surprised by the rustic ambiance! The service was very friendly, despite some language difficulties. We highly recommend it! Detlef and Angelika

Nada más entrar por la puerta nos recibieron con una sonrisa muy amable y hola. Mi hijo adulto y yo pedimos un almuerzo ligero de sopa. Tomó la albahaca de tomate y yo la sopa Daal con Naan. El tamaño de la porción era generoso y delicioso. El servicio fue rápido y atento y amable.

We sat there yesterday with my son for a small bite to eat and a drink. After we had first walked around, we thought this was the nicest place and we really liked it. The staff is nice and customer friendly and my son received a cookie.

Unfortunately, we never got a chance to actually eat here, as the waiters ignored us for 15 minutes straight. After flagging them several times and getting ignored, we decided to spend our money elsewhere. Very disappointing

Excelente joya del barrio y pub vintage Amsterdam. Ambiente animado y pero casual. Gente amable servicio maravilloso. Buena relación calidad-precio. Tomamos la ensalada de quinoa y el pollo salteado y limpiamos nuestro plato.

Nice for once, but not really my thing. I'm not really a café gange. The food, on the other hand, was excellent and neatly prepared and the service was extremely friendly.

The staff is unfriendly, really, especially the short guy in the afternoon. I've been there three times and he hasn't even cracked a nice smile, not one day. And very expensive for the quality. The bathroom is not at all clean and everything has been removed. The tables are also not completely clean.

This is based on 1 visit and one coffee with one slice of apple pie. Coffee was mediocre to reasonable. The apple pie was not good, nor was the weak whipped cream. It looked more like apple cake and the whipped cream was just sub par. Read that it came from a pastry chef in Amstelveen... more level, better supermarket. Place in the sun was great and the service was nice and attentive 👍

Lovely cafe which does great Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, especially handy if you are staying in the hotel next door. People working there are really friendly and they do a delicious Oat Latte for those morning hangovers…❤️

Pretty cozy. They have really great beer! And nice snacks. Did not eat dinner there. The service was great: polite and quick. Plus points for having some table top games available to play. The beer on the picture is a beer really worth trying - it was quite fresh. Hope they will always keep it.

Afgelopen zaterdagmiddag heb ik een biertje gedronken op het terras van Koosje, voor het eerst in meer dan een jaar. Het viel me meteen op dat het glas aanzienlijk kleiner is geworden (<20cl), terwijl je nog steeds € 3,50 betaalt. De smaak van het bier was ook niet hetzelfde als vroeger. Daarnaast waren de glazen niet schoon, wat absoluut niet acceptabel is, zeker in een periode waarin hygiëne zo belangrijk is vanwege de gezondheidsrisico's. Ook het personeel leek niet goed aangestuurd te worden, wat de algehele ervaring niet ten goede kwam. Ik hoop dat deze punten snel worden opgepakt, want de locatie heeft zeker potentieel!

I guess I was unlucky the last time I was there. Coffee was not tasty, the cheese on the sandwich had a life of its own separate from the bread. Ketchup came out of the bag as 1 part water and 1 part ketchup, I was helped by a sweet girl. But it was freezing, the temperature felt like 16 degrees inside (early in the morning) and it smelled like old catering soap. If you, like a woman of the world, have decided to go somewhere alone for a cup of coffee with a book, the details are more noticeable. Especially when you have to read every line 5 times because the lady behind the bar with the angry eyebrows has been furiously ranting about someone for 20 minutes in a very loud voice. I'm used to something different from Koosje, that's why some asterisks 🙂

Delicious tomato soup and croquettes with bread. Great for drinks or lunch on a cold winter afternoon. Very nice tent. We were served by a hipster who was too cool for school. But the food and the atmosphere put us in such a good mood that he achieved little with his fake cool. We will come back here!

Worst breakfast experience ever. If you’re looking for a place to start your day on the right note, this should be your last choice. While the food was acceptable, the service was absolutely terrible. The staff was rude and unprofessional. They would approach the table abruptly and ask, “What do you want?” in a curt manner. If you asked for a moment to decide, they would roll their eyes or walk off with an annoyed expression. In my case, the main issue was a dispute over a missing tea. When I pointed it out, the waiter rudely replied, ‘I don’t think you ordered that with me,’ instead of resolving the issue politely. Overall, a very disappointing experience." My suggestion, go to the Cafe of the Zoo.

Bizarre and terrible service. I placed an order for food tonight at 10:40pm, ordering from a waitress who assented and brought our drinks first. When an hour later hadn’t received the food yet (2 snack items) I went up to ask how much longer it would be (now it was 11:45pm. The waitress who had originally taken the order asked me what I had ordered. When I reminded her what 2 dishes I had asked for initially she just said I’m sorry there is no one in our kitchen anymore, offered no explanation as to why the order had not been prepared when there WERE kitchen staff around and the order was supposedly accepted, nor did she offer any compensation or gesture for the wasted time and total lack of communication. I paid my check but at this point (11:50) all other comparable kitchens are closed. Pretty much ruined the night. Very annoying.

Very disappointed today. It took a while before they saw me. Order came quickly, it wasn't busy either. Food was ok, cheese slices were very dry. Service was substandard. I haven't seen anyone anymore. Not to ask if it tasted good or to order something to drink, I sat outside. Went inside to pay and was served rudely at the bar. What a grumpy person, she didn't say anything, no thank you, no hello, how bad. Never experienced this before, I'll come more often. It was a blonde lady at the bar.

I would give more stars if it was possible, people are so kind, the Dutch food is tasty, we went 3 times during our stay once for breakfast, lunch and dinner and honestly never disappointed 💖

The food was good and the prices were acceptable, but the service was not good. There was no waiter who cared about the customers. I had to go in and ask the waiter to be able to order and also pay. No one cared.

After an evening of walking around Artis, stop by here for a drink and an apple pie. A bit of a shame that the apple pie came from the freezer, all in all we sat comfortably and enjoyed a beautiful evening.

The atmosphere is amazing with out door dining and what feels like a local spot. Unfortunately, the staff is rude and barely acknowledge us. We waited 20 minutes for drinks and the server never returned to take our dinner order. We ended up paying for our drinks and going to a different restaurant. Several of the tables near us had to go to the bar to get their check as no one returned. Our worst experience in Amsterdam. Bad service is one thing but the staff at this restaurant make you feel unwelcome. Read the reviews.

Para empezar, somos un grupo amistoso de muchachos que tenían hambre después de una animada visita al zoológico. Vinimos al Café Koojse por casualidad. Al entrar nos recibió una camarera que solo podemos describir como angelical. Tiene la gracia y el decoro de una joven Diana (PIR). Nos dejó boquiabiertos, de verdad. Un lugar maravilloso que se quedará con nosotros para siempre.

Estábamos visitando Amsterdam para el fin de semana y este bistró fue recomendado por el hotel en el que nos alojamos. El menú no es extenso, pero atiende a todos. Mi marido disfrutaba de su hamburguesa. Elegí la ensalada de queso de cabra. Tenía un poco demasiado lollo Rosso para mí y no suficientes uvas, pero estaba bien. El vino era precioso mi marido disfrutó de su cerveza. La señora que nos sirvió fue increíble su inglés fue brillante gracias! Recomendaría
