The music is nice, summery jazz and funk The Espresso Martini is delicious Also sparing, asked if I wanted beans on top or not. Looks nice, but I think you just throw them away? Also a glass of tap water with it, great! Service Nice head of foam, a good amount of Martini in it. Great cocktail!

I'm not someone who writes reviews often, but this place genuinely deserves it. From the moment we walked in, the service set the tone for the entire evening. The staff were warm, attentive without being intrusive. Every question about the menu was answered with genuine enthusiasm, not a rehearsed script. You could tell they actually love what they serve — and that energy is contagious. We felt like guests, not just customers. And then the food. Oh, the food. I don't even know where to start. Everything that landed on our table was thoughtfully composed, beautifully presented, and tasted even better than it looked. Bold flavours, perfect execution, the kind of cooking that makes you slow down mid-bite and just... appreciate it. But the real plot twist of the evening? The cauliflower. I have eaten cauliflower my entire life with mild indifference at best. Whatever they did to it in that kitchen, I need answers — because it was hands down one of the best things I have eaten in recent memory. If you're looking for a place where the service makes you feel genuinely taken care of and the kitchen makes even the most humble vegetable taste like a revelation — this is it. We'll absolutely be back.

I celebrated my 30th birthday here for about 40-50 people. We had very pleasant and flexible communication with the owner beforehand. The evening itself went really well and was fun. A large part of the café was reserved and space was made for the group, and the rest of the café was empty; there were only a few people on the terrace, so it was practically a private party. The staff were super nice and friendly, checking in regularly during the evening and helping me think about things like snacks, cake, etc. I was even able to arrange a DJ for the party through Café Nassau. I would definitely recommend organizing a party here!

We were staying nearby and spontaneously visited and glad we did! Cold beer and delicious Bitterballen. They have a burger special on Mondays too. Definitely recommend if in the area.

A lovely place! Went out for dinner with a group of friends in a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. First, we had drinks outside by the canal, then dinner inside. We have been coming here for lunch for quite some time. Why? A very good, relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff, and the lunch is delicious. For us, it is a wonderful oasis to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax with a nice wine. They also have 2 large terraces, one of which is covered and the other is lovely in the sun by the canal. Highly recommended!

I ate here yesterday with my wife and it was fantastic. Even though the staff were extremely busy, we were assisted attentively and well. The food was really tasty; we had tomato soup and aranchini, as well as the sea bass. This restaurant is highly recommended; we will definitely come back more often to sit on the terrace.

Best burger in Amsterdam! Top place

Super friendly service, we didn't have to wait long for our food, delicious burger and brownie dessert, great place to sit (pleasantly busy, good noise level). Portions could have been a bit larger, especially the fries with the burger and the brownie pieces in the dessert.

Cafe Nassau is a bit difficult to review... The interior is easy going and well thought through with basic furniture that blends well with the setting but it doesn't feel cheap. I went there with my mom and brother for a bit of a quick bite because they had quite some travelling back home to the east of Holland. Service was very understanding and friendly yet didn't communicate very well between them as we had different waiters asking the same questions over and over again. When we made clear my fiancee would also attend within 10 minutes and hold our orders they where served anyways even though telling 3 staff members. Strange. Dinner was nice a bavette with grilled veggies but far overpriced. Same for dessert 6 small pieces of cheese that were real jummie but cost like 9 euro. In short, nice setting, good food but pricing and staff communication could use some attention...

The relaxed friendly atmosphere was evident from the minute we walked in. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful throughout. We had the Cafe Nassau valentine special and very much enjoyed the prosecco, shared starter, main course and shared dessert. We rounded it off with a great Irish Coffee. A lovely evening!

In my opinion, Café Nassau is simply the nicest café in Amsterdam. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, the team is super friendly, and you immediately feel welcome. The food and snacks are always good and fresh, and it's easy to linger a while. I also love coming here to work on my laptop; I can do that without any hassle. Great vibe, beautiful location, and always a bit of a homecoming. Highly recommended.

About 100 people showed up, including a singer. What a party! The space is perfect for a party because it has a living room feel and quickly seems nice and full. (A slightly smaller space that can accommodate many people is better than a larger space with the same number of people; the smaller space immediately creates a much more atmosphere. So, Nassau.) The service was top-notch again. The owner really thinks along with you and makes sure everything is perfectly arranged. Highly recommended🎉🎉🎉

The fries from Nassau are delicious! This was the side dish with the homemade vegan lentil burger, which was also truly delicious. The woman who runs the place is incredibly nice. Clearly several regulars. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

A nice old man with deep-set eyes who was washing windows on the summer terrace allowed me to use the restroom in the morning before the restaurant opened, which was a great help! I am very grateful! And I will definitely return to the restaurant itself if I have the opportunity to have lunch☺️

One of the few restaurants open on Mondays! The staff is incredibly friendly, the service is excellent, and dogs are welcome and pampered. The food was delicious. Monday is burger day, and it was delicious. I like my burger a bit rare, but this one was well done! But it didn't detract from the flavor. Definitely worth going back 🙏💪🏽

For my daughter's 17th birthday, I held a surprise lunch party at Cafe Nassau. From the very beginning, Leonie helped us plan the perfect party for 60 people. She offered ideas like combining the lunch tasting with soup, whether or not to include dessert, how to handle (strong) drinks, decorating the cafe, and providing a playlist. It was so much appreciated for her input beforehand. Leonie and her friendly and responsive crew worked incredibly hard, and serving the food for 60 people went perfectly! What a great planning experience! Regarding the lunch: the Pomodori bell pepper soup was delicious, as was the lunch tasting with a combination of vegan, vegetarian, and meat/fish sandwiches. Cafe Nassau is my daughter and my local pub. We've been going there since my daughter was a baby. The fact that I wanted to celebrate her birthday "in style" at that very location speaks volumes about how much we both love Nassau. My daughter loved the surprise party (which was the goal, of course), and Nassau's organization far exceeded our expectations. On to the next party at Nassau's. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful meal with a group of 55 women! We had the whole restaurant to ourselves, the menu was delicious, and the staff were very accommodating to our needs.

Monday burger deal is great. Note that the kitchen technically doesn't open until 5:30. I came in shortly after opening but I was lucky that they were graciously able to accommodate me. The burger is very tasty and well seasoned. The fries are nice too. Well worth the 14 euro price.

What an inviting and cozy restaurant! It was recommended to my husband and I by our VRBO host and we are so grateful he did. We ate here 4 of the 5 nights we spent in Amsterdam! The food was tasty, the service was friendly, and it just felt welcoming. Why would we go anywhere else? I cannot recommend it highly enough, particularly if you are staying in the Westerpark area.

Service was really below par. I think the lady serving was fine with it all, she was chatting next to the bar with an acquaintance while we were in her field of vision signaling that we would like to order. No excuses when it finally happened. And no, we don't call a hamburger that is red on the inside pink at home, but simply raw and yes, we prefer that it goes back to the kitchen. Shame!

It was horrible experience. To order we had to go to the cash register 3 times and place our own order. The waiters seem to be there only to leave food on the table. Also, the burger that used to be 13 Euros with fries and salad now comes at the same price without fries or salad. The burger is small and its taste is not close to average. Would we come again, I don't think so and I don't recommend it. The price is high and the taste is below standards.We ordered ceasar salad and asked without ansjovis, but came with ansjovis. Waitress could also not explain what is Shasuka. It was nuch better before, not anymore.

Came last minute to watch the England Euros game, and their hospitality and friendliness is a rare find! Very welcoming and accommodating, especially as we were the only English people in the bar, great snacks and pints! Would highly recommend this place to anyone watching to watch a game :)

Since i wrote the positive review below there has been a change of management. It is still a place for great food, but the new managements attitude is not good and it affects the service and atmosphere. I have been several times recently and each of the last three times service was poor (very slow), but the main issue was that when this was highlighted in any way the new manageress was dismissive and gave attitude. She seems to treat the place as a private club for friends, putting chatting with them above dealing with other customers. The latest was a night when despite having a reservation and being seated and ready to order for over 20minutes, our drinks arrived and we were ready to order our food, we were informed that because a party of 30 was due in (they weren’t even seated and ordering yet) and we were told our food would not be prepared yet until after that table had all been served. Typically no compensation was offered in any effort to recover service. The waitress was apologetic but she clearly had no ownership, and we were left with mo option other than to leave. She didnt/couldnt even offer our drinks (which by the way we just left). I have been a huge fan of this business and the food is still genuinely great. The sad truth is that it was special because unlike many Amsterdam restaurants it had a service standard like you find in other European cities. Not now though, its just another place where customers are an inconvenience to the management (unless they are a part of 30 I guess). I hope that that party become regulars, because i have been going at least twice a month with various friends for years. But no more. ———————————————-Genuinely the best burger and fries in Amsterdam. Monday deal is €12. But that’s not all, the chef is consistently turning out really high quality dishes with real care and attention. And unlike many place in NL (sorry my adopted home) the service is wonderful and the staff seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. In lockdown the cafe made real efforts to be of service as much as was possible with every rule change. On my recent of many many visits we had the bruschetta, ricotta ravioli, celeriac and truffle soup, and three amazing desserts. When I say they were all top class, it’s not because I’m easily pleased, it’s because they truly were. A strong measure of a great chef is often the simplest dishes and this person passes those tests (the Angus burger, fries, affrogato) with flying colours, before proving their credentials even further with the authentic fresh pasta and interesting refined desserts. I have reviewed before but the consistency is worth applauding and frankly, it’s got even better. Not to be missed. Oh and by the way, as it’s not a tourists restaurant (a few minutes walk from the west Jordaan) the prices are really reasonable. Did I mention the clever choice of wines (good quality, fair price, no paying just for the brand etc).

Ate the shared dining menu here with a group of 50. Special evening with delicious food. The cote de boeuf with chimichuri is especially recommended. The people at Café Nassau are extremely helpful and were happy to think along with us and the wishes of our group. All in all a pleasant evening.

Wat een heerlijke lunch met de meest fantastische bruchetta's, mijn favoriet was die met gebakken champignons en truffelolie. Een no nonsense café waar je ook lekker buiten kunt zitten. De bediening is zeer attent, snel en aardig. Hier kom ik zeker terug als ik weer in Amsterdam ben.

I was lucky to pass by the area and find their Monday Burger Special. My Angus burger was simply out of this world and it’s one of the best that I had in my life. You have to give it a try! Elke keer weer een ontzettend fijne sfeer en heerlijk eten. Geen heel uitgebreide kaart, maar prima bereid. Absolute aanrader om lekker een hapje buiten de deur te eten.

Hier een feest gehouden voor grote groep van 70+ personen inclusief diner, supergoed geregeld door Hein en personeel. Hein gaf heel goede ideeën en suggesties qua eten, opstelling, indeling vd avond etc. Kreeg achteraf van veel gasten complimenten wb het eten, sfeer en bediening, 100% aanrader!

First night in Amsterdam, I was exhausted and famished, the Café has a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, comfortable furniture with soothing music. I ordered a glass of wine and the Saltimbocca dish, and I always end up not being able to eat up my food due to being too much — here? I threw caution to the wind. It was exquisite, full of flavour and refined. Such a delicate marriage between the pork, ham and spinach. I regretted not ordering the bruschetta as they looked amazing… so I went back on my last night. The one with the mushrooms, Parmesan and truffle oil had me nearly groan in delight. The crisp of the bread, the sweetness of baked basil tomato; they brought me a sweet white wine that was perfect and gave me a vibe from being on the French Riviera or the Amalfi coast. I meant to take a picture of the food…but I couldn’t stop myself and ate it all. It was just THAT good. ☀️ The staff was smiling, always prompt in arriving when called over and made insightful suggestions to both food and drink. They have a cheerful and dynamic disposition.⭐️ My favourite place in Amsterdam! Hands down! I also noticed board games on one of the shelves for family and friends. ❤️

My husband and I visited the restaurant for dinner on a Monday. The restaurant was full which we thought was a good sign. I would give this restaurant 5 stars for the service and the atmosphere and 3 stars for the food. We were seated at a large table by the canal. The atmosphere was lovely. We ordered a bottle of red wine. I don’t remember the name, but it was a Spanish wine for €38.50. It was very good. We had bruschetta for the appetizer and it was delicious. The mushroom one was our favorite. For the main we ordered burgers. They have a burger special on Mondays and everyone around us was ordering burgers, so we decided to do the same. The burgers were very disappointing. I ordered a vegetable burger. The patty was dry and ready salty. I took one bite and couldn’t eat it. My husband ordered a beef burger. He asked for medium-rare, but was told that the burger are all prepared the same way- a little pink inside. There was no pink in that burger. It was really overcooked. And the bun to burger ratio was way off. The bun was 40% bigger than the burger. The service was very friendly and attentive. I was a bit surprised however that we were charged for an uneaten burger even after I informed the waitress that I could not eat it because of the salt level.

We came across this cafe on the King’s Day last year and it was like a quiet harbor. I liked the tables outside near the canal but the vibe inside the cafe was also pretty nice. The waitress was friendly. We ordered coffees and pastel de nata which were too expensive in my opinion.

Wonderful neighborhood spot with wonderful food. Went here after Fabriques de Luminares and it was the perfect spot for a lovely lunch and beer with the kiddos.

Zondag avond heerlijk gezeten aan het water met een wijntje en biertje. Personeel was vriendelijk maar helaas was de borrel plank erg matig. Ons werd beloofd een grote borrel plank met vlees en kaas maar we kregen wat plakken ham en brokken kaas. Wij vond het niet waard voor bijna 20 euro.

Redelijk duur, maar wel erg lekkere hamburgers.
