Very friendly staff, delicious food and nice atmosphere.

For a long time now, a good and cozy place to enjoy a tasty meal and a nice drink.

Unfortunately, the service on the terrace is truly terrible. The two women who ran the terrace on Saturday, October 11th, during the Henderson Live at Cafe Restaurant De Koperen Bel should be deeply ashamed of themselves for serving their customers so poorly.

The two of us sat outside on the patio. The ladies served us quickly and kindly. We both had a beef, cheese, and onion sandwich, a bit small for €9.50, but the bread was delicious! We'll definitely be back!

Very few mussels for the price of €27 per person. One portion of fries and one small bowl of salad, I thought it was a single serving. But it was actually for two. Such a shame. The price doesn't reflect the quantity.

We stopped here for a late lunch. And it was a great choice. All three lunch dishes—the pulled chicken sandwich, the red brie with chicken, and the pulled chicken toastie—were delicious. We'll definitely be back when we're back in Zaandam.

We stopped by for a snack and beers, the service was a bit slow considering there were almost no guests. Also when we ordered the vegetable sticks, they took the order and came only after 20 minutes to tell us that they don't have it. The waiter should tell us when ordering, right? Otherwise the snacks were really really good and beer nicely chilled. Plus people watching is a big plus 😊

We had a very nice experience this evening. The food is great and the service is good except for a bit long wait. Our server is very friendly and make it a point to update us with our orders. It was a very busy evening but the food was still great. Highly recommend for good food.

I had the seasonal burger with fries. A truly delicious burger! Highly recommended. The curry sauce with the fries was also fantastic. Unfortunately, the recipe is a secret.

Aan de weg stond een bord om reclame te maken voor de zalm met asperges maar toen we dit bestelden bleek het deze dag niet aanwezig. De vega curry werd erg lauw geserveerd en de bestelde droge wijn bleek zoet. Was echt niet te drinken, de serveerster gaf ook aan dat ze deze niet lekker vond (een erg zoete chardonnay? Echt niet) maar bracht em tich in rekening na het gedoe over de aangeprezen zalm die er niet was. Amateuristisch! Jammer want leuke plek!

I wanted to eat mussels here with a colleague. There was a sign outside that they had mussels, not cheap, but I thought, we only live once. So we both ordered mussels. After waiting for a while... (And apart from us there was no one in the restaurant) a pot of mussels arrived. I said to my colleague: start now, I'll take the other pot. But when I asked where it was, the waiter said that the pot was for 2 people... I told him that was veeeery little. (I think 1kg for 2 people.) He didn't mind and I got the answer: here this is the normal portion for 2 people. So for me the last time I came to eat here. Afterwards I stopped at the pita shop on the corner a little further. So: very little for a lot of money! Too bad...

You won't find a better steak in Zaandam!

Rude service! We wanted to have lunch, first we ordered draft beer, we got the amount shown in the picture. Then when we politely asked them to pour more beer into the glass, up to the mark, they phlegmatically said that this was the normal amount. Another server sullenly filled it, but they didn't take our lunch order. And when we wanted to pay for our consumption, they made us wait with the payment, apparently they were just wasting time, because the servers were talking to each other at the counter. We left disappointed.

Our favorite pub in Zaandam. At least once a month we come here for a nice drink. Super sweet staff.

Nice location with a view of the square (old center Zaandam). Food was good. Excellent steak tartare as a starter. The tuna steak was a bit dry. Could have been a bit more pink. The sangria is tasty but not special. Good Grolsch on tap.

De Koperenbel has seen better days. Especially regarding the service. It is not the place it used to be... We came for a drink and sat on the non-smoking side of the terrace. Service arrived, drinks ordered. No problem. Then we wanted to order something else but it took forever while the girl who had served us was chatting quietly with a couple of acquaintances who were sitting inside... eventually after 10 minutes we still had not been helped, so I got up and tapped on the window, and made a gesture that we wanted to order something else... With the gesture back: (while chatting with the acquaintance) that she would be there. Eventually we were done with it and got up to leave, then she came with the bill? In other words: great, they are gone. We have sat on your terrace more often, but this is the best! Do something about this because you are losing turnover ;)

Great location, good quality food but uninterested staff, not very attentive, almost depressing despite all the beauty around. High bill but in line with Dutch standards.

Ordered at 7:15, by 8:15 there was still no food. Another table that was seated before us had no food either and asked where their food is, and proceeded to get gaslit by the waitress who told them it was their fault for not telling the kitchen they wanted their food all at the same time. We left afterwards because it was clear we would not be served.

DONT LET THE GOOGLE REVIEWS AND TIKTOKS FOOL YOU! Sat there waiting for over an hour for our food. Finally had enough and left without our food arriving. Customers next to us sat and had their food come within 10 minutes. If you don’t speak Dutch, don’t bother coming! Tourists avoid!

Young Team that gives hospitality dimension in a great way. Cute and nice place with a lot of history on the walls. Beautifully decorated plates with tasty food served. It wasn't busy, so there was extra attention for guests, extra cleaning and extra time to train an intern. Great! We will definitely come back!

We had a night out here, and we had a great time, especially because of Thyler's good and funny service. I come here often and I think De Koperen Bel is one of the nicest places in Zaandam. The drinks platter is tasty and the drinks menu is extensive. There are many good whiskeys and good beers on it.

The sauce with the steak was tasty, fries too and the steak was fried a little too long. But the service... ordered at 5:41 PM, at 6:45 PM we asked where the food was. No excuses unfortunately. At 7.15 pm the food had not yet arrived. We told them that we had already been waiting for 1.5 hours. According to the waiter this was a lie... too bad there was barely an apology

The food is delicious. The service is very chaotic. People next to us had yet to receive their cutlery. I ordered soup with bread and had to ask for my bread. There is certainly still work to be done. Otherwise fine

Beautiful and relaxing place, friendly staff, but above all the food is incredibly good!! Fantastic! The only flaw I found that I recommend improving the speed of service, for the dessert we waited quite a while, but I must say that it was really worth it!! I will definitely stay here again when I'm in the area again.

No matter how many things change on Dam Square, everything remains familiar at De Koperen bel. For decades you have been welcomed in a cozy pub atmosphere. It is the meeting point for many groups of friends. The service is friendly, the beers are tasty and the food is simply delicious. Nothing is exaggerated, you just come here for a pleasant afternoon or evening. When the weather is nice - but even when it is still chilly - you can enjoy watching people walk by on the heated terrace. Sometimes there are also performances, see the poster on the door.

Wonderfull experience! We were 6 people so they made a bit of space for us, very kind of them. The pub ambiance is a bit noisy but nothing excessive, overall the restaurant is very good looking. For the food, it was delicious, homemade fries, tasty meat and very good sauces! We waited a bit long for the meal to arrive but they gave us extra fries to compensate, very good commercial gesture! Overall, very good prices for the quality, would absolutely recommand!

Very warm welcome and very friendly service. Eight of us walked in without a reservation and in no time they had put together a few tables for us. The best toast carpaccio I've eaten in years, but honestly every dish looked insanely delicious. Delicious coffee, which was really a relief! Too bad we live 2.5 hours away because I would definitely come here much more often!

Wat een bedroefende ervaring, Telefonisch gereserveerd, na aanleiding van de reviews..... Maar in alle eerlijkheid, het heeft weg van een kroeg als van een restaurant. We gaan naar binnen, mogen een tafeltje uitzoeken, en vervolgens hebben we de dame van bediening niet meer gezien. :-( na 10 minuten, zijn we maar opgestapt....WAT een slechte bediening zeg.

Omdat de lunch met 10 personen een herdenking van een overledene was ,had onze gastheer boven gereserveerd. Echter we moesten beneden zitten. Dit hadden ze toch wel even kunnen bespreken lijkt mij. De helft van ons nam een soep vooraf,daar werd boos op gereageerd.Ze wilden alles tegelijk serveren.De soep kwam na een half uur en de lunch kwam anderhalf !! Uur later. 9 gerechten waren koude gerechten,alleen onze gastheer had een warme saté. Deze kwam niet. Vergeten. Erg trage bediening,maar wel heel vlot met wijn in- en bijschenken. Het eten was goed,maar de sfeer,de slordigheid en Een gedeelte van de onvriendelijke bediening maakt dat deze groep hier niet meer zal komen.

This restaurant with a sunny terrace is located on a pleasant square with restaurants and cafes. We had sandwiches with warm ham and one with salmon. The portions were large and it was surprisingly tasty! The young, grumpy waitress was not really customer friendly and a bit rude.

We stopped attracted by the cute and comfortable place. We ordered a natural omelette, and a vegetable stick with humus. So, let's start from the assumption that an egg omelette cost €10, but the most fun part was tasting the €9 strictly raw vegetables, chunks of carrots, cucumbers, celery and finally some fantastic green peppers, which I didn't have raw. never eaten. On the other hand, despite the wait, the waitresses were kind and smiling. I almost forgot if you are very thirsty, order a lot of water, because here it is in 0.2l format, about two scant glasses. We called in here on the off chance as the weather was appalling and we wanted some lunch. We were not disappointed. This is a great find and I’m sure we will be back again this week. The service was excellent and the food was beautiful. Thank you for making the start of our holiday so good.

Twelve o'clock (Twaalfuurtje) is a sandwich set with three different types of small sandwiches, namely goat cheese, beef slices and croquettes, suitable for people who want to try a variety of flavors. Although it is said to be a set meal for one person, the portion is quite large for Asians and can be eaten by two people. The set also includes a small cup of Tomaat-paprika soep with basil and mascarpone cream. This tomato soup is a traditional local vegetarian dish. It is refreshing and appetizing. Located on the Dam in Zaandam. This is the city center, great place to hangout, eat, drink a cold beer, relax and people watch. This is a great place to visit very easily accessible from Amsterdam by train, 10 minute ride, easy and beautiful walk from the train station to the city center. Lots of hotels around the train station.

I've enjoyed a few meals here in the last few years. This visit, with my sister, we went for drinks and nibbles. We had a selection of cold snacks (kaas blokjes, proscuitto, leverworst en pickles) along with our "must have" bitterballen. Started off with fresh, ginger tea and honey then ended the afternoon off with a beer.

I think the beef version is also quite delicious, I personally recommend the beef! I ordered salmon for the omelette. Oh my god, it was so salty that I couldn't eat it at all... Overall, it is an okay restaurant, but not very delicious. So-so.
