As the most of cafe restaurants in the shore of Volendam this place has tables outside to enjoy sun and ample inner place with a good ambience. There are a variety of dishes either red meat or seafood for one or to share. Although simply fish and chips with draft beer is the easiest meal to choose, sharing tastes of different dishes is recommended if you are family or group of four or more.

Burger tastes good, bun is too soft and I don't think it is brioche as stated on the menu.

Erg chaotisch, waren maar 2 medewerkers voor het hele restaurant terwijl het helemaal vol zat. Hierdoor ging een aantal keer iets fout. Eten kwam niet gezamenlijk. Nadat de rest van de tafel het eten al meer dan een half uur op had, kwam pas het eten van mij (na vragen waar het eten bleef). Helaas was het eten lauw. De 2 medewerkers bleven wel vriendelijk ondanks alle chaos.

Everything is very good but things could be a little better

Shortly after we took a seat at one of the tables outside, someone came to take our order. We ordered two cappuccinos. When ordering, I immediately asked whether there was also gluten-free bread. The boy who served us asked and quickly came back with the answer that it was possible. I ordered salmon with gluten-free bread and my friend had 2 croquettes on bread. After a reasonable time the plates arrived. Two thawed white slices of bread, schär or something similar, with cream cheese. a slice of salmon, some arugula, onion and pine nuts. It looked sad on the rather large plate. The crust of the gv bread was very hard. Our cappuccino was long gone, but we were not asked if we wanted anything else to drink. The croquettes on bread were excellent, you can hardly go wrong. After a while I walked inside to pay and indicated that the gluten-free bread was not really good. There was no response to that. I wouldn't eat here again.

Cozy tent but gosh, what bad food! A long hair and plastic in the plate coming from the kitchen. Way too salty and dry. Very unfortunate.

I ate here today with a friend, unfortunately the eggs were cold, I told them after a while and they were going to report it, so that's why 4 stars and not 5, the orange juice was delicious

You can sit inside, right outside or in the tent closure look to water or nice yachts next to road on the other side. Nice food, good service and would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Piatti scarsi con porzioni minuscole e prezzi esagerati. Personale spazientito, sembrava avesse piacere che le persone andassero via anziché restare e ordinare. Servizio molto lento. Il pane ha un costo a parte e dopo il primo cestino, quando ne abbiamo ordinato un altro, nonostante lo avessimo sollecitato più volte per completare il nostro pasto che aspettava sul tavolo, e’ arrivato quando stavamo andando via dopo 25 minuti con cameriera stufa e disturbata dalla nostra richiesta sollecitata più volte. Il tutto a locale pieno per metà. Pessima esperienza. Peccato.

For those who will visit Volendam-Edam, I recommend the fish & chips restaurants on this coast. We chose a table here and ordered the mixed fish basket, it took half an hour to arrive. There was no extra difference in its taste and it could not be said to be very satisfying. The view and the statue of the uncle sitting on the bench opposite were nice, and it had a nice atmosphere.

0 stars does not exist, too bad, the waiters were unpleasant, we waited 1 hour for our dishes, all served cold, dry without sauce, I do not recommend this restaurant to avoid on all points.

The seats outside the restaurant have a good view of the harbor. , the fried fish is a bit salty, the fries are delicious, The seafood platter is pretty good and goes well with beer. It's just that the food is served a bit slowly

Tourist trap to avoid. Slow service, food ordering takes ages. Low price quality

Excellent food. It took about half an hour to come out, however we were a group of sixteen so I cosider that to be pretty efficient. I had the smoked salmon salad and I got much more smoked salmon than expected for the price of the dish (smoked salmon is typically expensive in stores) so I'd say good price for the quality and quantity. Good atmosphere too. Vegetarian and gluten free/celiac options were available and enjoyed by other members of the group.

The restaurant has a nice ambience. Unfortunately the staff was completely understaffed so we had to wait a long time before we could place our first order. Unfortunately, the food itself had an aftertaste as if the oil hadn't been changed in a long time. Prices are normal for the area.

Food was terrible no taste or seasoning on the kibbeling the waiter said there is nothing he can do there is no extra seasoning. If it wasn't a treat from my cousins I would have never not paid for this terrible dish. In the 46 years I live in the Netherlands I never ate such terrible kibbeling. My cousins ate he his dish because he was really hungry and we had to go. I would never go back to this place.

Helas nej. If you like to sit there waving and hoping to get the servants attention, while his buddy is enjoying his break, go ahead, go waste your lifetime there being ignored, while your kids stay thirthty. Last time there for me, sry.

A very cozy restaurant with a view of the harbor. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The food was excellent. The prices are also absolutely fine for a tourist promenade.

We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish to share and everything was very good. We liked it and to be in the center looking at the canal, not the sea, it had the right price. The Amstel rose are very good.

Simple but good food at a very fair price. What we particularly liked is that there is no difference between lunch and dinner.

Lousy service: 1 waitress works her butt off and the other cuts corners. Behind the bar 1 big chaos. We had to wait more than 30 minutes for our drink and more than 50 minutes for our food with partially blackened fries. Once and never again.

The fish dish was really poor quality. The salmon was the only thing that tasted decent. They had no free tap water, instead offering overpriced mini bottles. We had to ask for the check multiple times.

Don't pay close attention if you're alone and who's turn comes first

Waited about 1 hour for 1 platter of fried seafood, 1 salad, 1 bitterballen, 1 schnitzel. Waiter and waitresses are very hardworking and fast but the kitchen speed is too slow.....The taste of food is alright but not worth our time to wait for thaaaaat long especially when we have limited time for a day trip.

Missing some sauce on snitzel. Shame

We had dinner in this very typical café restaurant. Ideal if you want to immerse yourself in Dutch culture. We tried the bolognese pasta (slightly too spicy for our taste) and the carpaccio which was delicious. Good value for money.

Delicious food and friends in a great place

Incredibly disappointed to wait 1.5 hours for our food!! We were 5 adults and 3 kids that ordered lunch. The kids were were really hungry after waiting 1 hour for the food so we asked the waitress to serve the kids meal first if it was ready. Instead, we had to wait another 30 mins (1.5 hours total as mentioned earlier) and all the food was served at once. Looking at other reviews, the slow service seems to occur frequently. This was a terrible experience. When leaving, we overheard another parent with a hungry child at a nearby table asking how long they would need to wait for their food because their child was really hungry. Avoid this restaurant unless you like waiting a long time for an average meal.

Typical food. LETTER IN SPANISH (Photos) Order KIBBELING (photo) it is battered cod (without eggs, or barely) with something derived from beer. It's fritanga but not that bad. The amount of cod is enough for two people, although they fall short on the salad and overdo it on the fries. The very delicious XL Angus burger (photo) comes with fries and mini mini salad. It has a terrace with an awning, where you can have coffee while watching people go by.

It took them 1 hour to bring us two dishes, a hamburger and some spaghetti, when they arrived they were cold. Another 30 minutes later the plates were returned to us untouched. Lack of respect and consideration for the client.

I went in Volendam for a walk, and than i stop at this restaurant wich was a brilliant idea... We eat fruit sea making up in style!

Comida típica. Pedimos pescado frito típico de la zona y muy rico. Personal amable.

Famtastico piato “Mix di pesce” frito. Lo abbiamo preso per due e era perfetto.

Balık, karides gibi yiyecekleri bulabileceğiniz sıradan bir pub. Yemekleri orta kalitede, servisleri zayıf.

Wenn man lange durch die wunderschöne Gegend von Edam und Volendam läuft, bekommt man irgendwann auch Hunger. Und so verschlug es uns an den Hafen von Volendam und ins Restaurant. Für uns war noch ein Platz auf der Terrasse frei. Mit blauen Himmel und ein bisschen auffrischendem Wind schmeckte das Bier gleich doppelt so gut. Auch das bestellte Essen (auf den Bildern das Saté sowie der XL Angus Burger) schmeckte wunderbar. Während viele Menschen Wartezeiten bemängeln, fand ich es gut, dass das Essen nicht innerhalb von 5min serviert worden ist, sondern man dadurch Zeit hatte, die Hafenatmosphäre einzufangen und miteinander ins Gespräch zu kommen... Fünf Sterne und wärmsten zu empfehlen.

Pas si mal en ce dimanche ensoleillé, belle vue sur la mer, service rapide malgré le monde 3/5 car pas de sauce pour les frites mais au moins elles étaient bonnes comme le reste des plats. On recommande pour l'emplacement.

Sehr leckeres Restaurant in Volendam! Wir waren zwei Abende dort, hatten unter Anderem Chicken Nuggets (sehr lecker und frisch gemacht!), Tintenfischringe (ebenfalls frisch!) und den Angus Burger. Hier hätte etwas mehr Soße drauf sein können, ansonsten alles tip top!

Gezellige plek aan het water waar je zeer goed kan eten. Je kan zowel binnen als buiten zitten. De hoeveelheid lijkt weinig maar is erg voedzaam en wat ons betreft voldoende. Ook is er een mogelijkheid om aan de bar een lekker drankje te drinken.

Gisteravond hebben wij hier gezeten. Dachten lekker hapje en drankje. De ober had er volgens mij niet zo heel veel zin in. Moesten zelf vragen of wij drinken mochten bestellen en eten, waarop het antwoord heel kort en krachtig was: Kom er zo aan (was niet zo beleefd), want hij kwam maar niet. Best lang moeten wachten op het eten, vroegen waar ons eten bleef, waarop de ober zei het wordt nu gemaakt na een uur pas. Wij wouden het bijna cancellen, maar zagen de vriendelijke dame met het eten al aankomen. Het eten was wel heerlijk en de dame die achter de bar stond was ook heel vriendelijk, maar zou het niet voor herhaling doen mits je geen honger hebt en lang wilt wachten. Wij dachten eerst we zitten in bananensplit. Er zaten mensen achter ons die dit precies ook hadden. Het was echt rustig in het restaurant, dus het kon ook niet aan de drukte leggen. Het is jammer van de service op deze prachtige locatie aan het water, maar misschien een tip voor de ober: glimlachen is gratis 😊

Kibbelingen met frietern was lekker en een grote portie. Spaghetti daarentegen was tot 2x toe koud, zelfs na terugsturen naar de keuken was zowel saus als spaghetti nog altijd koud.

Great atmosphere and great food! Our kids loved the shrimp and the fries, and we enjoyed the tomato soup, the fish soup and the salad. The view from the restaurant is great and it was packed, but the service was fast and friendly. Highly recommended!
