Restaurant Cafe de Dijk in Wijk 02 Volendam

We wilden een hapje eten in Volendam en de Dijk heeft goede reviews, dus daar gingen we heen. We hadden niet gereserveerd en hadden geluk dat er nog 2 tafeltjes vrij waren. Het was erg druk en toch liep alles gesmeerd. We aten het dinner dinsdagmenu en hebben heel gezellig gezeten en heerlijk gegeten.

The food and drinks were excellent. It's a cozy place with friendly staff.

The food was good and the service was very friendly and prompt. However, things didn't run smoothly at the bar, so we had to ask twice for our drinks after ordering them.

What a fantastic location, delicious food, friendly staff—in short, simply wonderful. Even if they had 10 stars, they would have!

Unfortunately, I can't rate the food at this restaurant because we didn't have the chance to eat there. So I'm just writing down what I saw of the service and the atmosphere. The view is very beautiful, so we had spotted a nice table on the terrace. I waited at the entrance of the restaurant with my family while someone took care of us. Once all the staff had finished walking past us, ignoring us, we left. We finally had lunch 2 or 3 restaurants further on, where we weren't well received either... the table was really dirty, and it wasn't very good - frankly average. Overall, in this area, as on the island opposite, the hospitality towards tourists seemed very different to Amsterdam.

Kindly stop using your hands to put ice cubes into the glasses.

We had a wonderful meal here! They even catered to our one-year-old daughter (with a high chair) even though it was very busy! Absolutely fantastic!

The restaurant has very nice views, has heating, and a pleasant atmosphere. I only had the tea, and it was delicious but very hot. The only thing I didn't like was that we arrived in the morning and they didn't offer breakfast until after a certain time.

The place is in a touristic spot, I get that. Probably our bad, if you may. But does it always have to mean no effort? I saw another table sending back their meal. But the burger was lacking taste and wasn't any better than from a food chain, and my fish salad had some salad in the mayonnaise (it was basically a soup of mayo). I wanted to have fish, I was happy it was a salad, then I was so disappointed by everything. I felt bad for a few hours after the meal.

As I was looking for how to reserve a table online outside, I watched a white couple walk in and get seated. So sad that there is still such ignorance in today’s world.

Food was tasteless. The sole was tough, the pasta with the sea bass overcooked and the excessively bound (with flour) sauce tasteless. The price/quality ratio is very moderate. Definitely not recommended. The service was not very friendly.

Delicious food in a beautiful place. Service was great only the two young boys (who were not allowed to take drinks) were not aware of what dish they were serving ;). But we had a great evening!!

Ridiculously long wait for service. Walked to the bar, only to be ignored and sent back. After waiting again finally ordered drinks... that took a long time again, the terrace closed before the drinks arrived, service very unfriendly so I left.

Met de familie à 15 personen gegeten. 3 gangen keuzemenu voor groepen met voldoende keuze. Eten en service was echt top. Prijs/kwaliteit is heel goed.

The food was amazing (salade Volendam) especially the sauce. I even asked the waiter what is the name of the sauce but they did not tell us saying it’s a secret recipe. However, they should work on the presentation of the food. Service was good. Ambience was superb. Beautiful view from there and nice coffee ☕️ too.

A long walk around Marken, then return to the port, sitting in full sun to sip a beer or something: a very pleasant moment of zenitude. Be careful, the terrace against the building is small but another one below closer to the water must be good too.

Had lunch here and later had dinner.. super friendly staff.. tasty menu and attractive terrace with a beautiful view. Highly recommended.

This Restaurant is well located, difficult to get a place in a very touristy place, too bad the menus are not also in French, it's not easy to make your choice, friendly staff. Good burgers.

We kregen via via toch te horen dat het goed eten is bij de Dijk. En ja , dat klopt het eten was wederom voortreffelijk, we hebben nml een culinaire vakantie in Volendam. Service en eten was geweldig goed ,mooie prijs en echt lekker. Echter zaten een paar groepen jongelui die erg veel kabaal maakte door hard te praten en lachen. Ik weet het , het is een eetcafe maar dan nog in andere eetcafés was het geluid niet zo hard, maar dit is echt het enige minpunt. Onze 3 honden werden wederom met open armen ontvangen dus wel een aanrader maar misschien eerder op de avond doen als de jeugd niet gaat drinken.

Beautiful location. Has tables indoor and alfresco. Highly recommended food. Very delicious. We had the cod and scallops. Hopefully we had more time to spend. We were running late so we followed up our order. Staff politely told us that we should have informed them when we ordered that we are in a rush. We were able to make it on time though not able to savor the tasty meal.

I wasn’t expecting to eat so well in a touristy street. The carpaccio sandwich was delicious, while the Pastrami one was bigger in portion. Very kind and funny waiters. The place is cozy with a nice view. They serve tap water and little sweet snacks with the coffee, which was a really nice Italian espresso. Absolutely recommended 5/5

A very good place to eat if you visit Volendam. They offer typical food and a little bit of everything. The staff is very friendly. The place is very nice and you have a view of the sea.

Bij binnenkomst werden wij al gewaarschuwd door een andere bezoeker dat ze al een kwartier zat zonder geholpen te worden. Toch geprobeerd en ook wij hebben 10 minuten gezeten, midden in het zicht van het personeel zonder geholpen te worden. Net als de andere bezoeker zijn wij uiteindelijk opgestaan en vertrokken. Er wordt totaal niet naar je omgekeken want dit was overigens ook niet de eerste keer dat we belabberd werden geholpen. Maarja, die centen harken ze toch wel binnen d.m.v. toeristen dus veel maakt het ze toch niet uit. Als iemand die hier uit de buurt komt, was dit de laatste keer dat ik hier ben gekomen.

Snack bar with a nice atmosphere. Solid food, daily specials with fresh fish. A lot going on at lunchtime.. The hygiene concept is a bit weak.. No ice scoop or tongs for ice cubes.. Taken with bare hands..When the bar is open... Food solid but lots of convinience parts.. Nice view.. of water..

We had a great high wine at Café de Dijk. The wine was great, the food was great, and the service was great. The courses with the accompanying wine were nicely explained and it was a super fun evening program.

We made a call and reserved a table. Once we arrived at the restaurant, waitress told us they forgot to add it on book and we can’t sit.

We had reservation. But waitress told us because they forgot to enter in their book, we couldn’t get a table. Terrible.

Delicious food. Unfortunately it's more of an ordinary cafe. So very busy. Food was great, service very friendly. Walk the talk for the guests. The spicy mussels were really DELICIOUS.

The food we ordered was good, the problem is that it took more than an hour to serve us, so the time visiting the town was reduced to a minimum. Not recommended if you have little time and it is very crowded.

Great place to eat, but not too much fish alternatives available. There is a free parking spot 6-7 min away. Surf & Turf was great.

The server was incredibly nice and helpful, the atmosphere was not to crowded nor was it deserted. I ordered fish and chips (fries) and it was amazing, the dish was however not the fish and chips known for being fried in batter.

Eerst lekker geborreld en daarna blijven zitten om te eten. Er was een 3-gangen menu. Met oa slibtong en grand dessert na. Het was heerlijk! Ook genoten van een goede wijn en lekkere speciaal biertjes uit Volendam

OMG, food was heeerrrlliijkkk! Starter: Carpaccio, never had such a delicious carpaccio before. Main course: Beef tenderloin, wonderfully tender! Dessert: cheesecake, incredibly delicious I recommend everyone to eat here, good service, cozy atmosphere and clean toilets. Top!

We waren op het menu van Dinner Dinsdag af gegaan, en we konden er niet over uit zoooo lekker. Gerechten die voortaan op de nieuwe kaart staan…. Een salade van rode en gele biet hangop en pistache. Daarna een kerrie courgette soep met zalm en als hoofdgerecht een watertanden 24 uur gegaarde rundershortrib , gepofte knoflook en roseval…. Onze complimenten…👌🏻 .

We found the restaurant by accident and it turned out to be a great choice. Delicious food, wonderful service, we liked everything.

The food is delicious, the shrimps are very tasty, the soup is rich and delicious, and there are a lot of seafood. I gave two stars because at the final checkout, a female clerk gave us the price of a bottle of wine, but we only ordered one glass. When I went to report to the male clerk, he changed it directly for us without confirming us again. Is it true that only one drink was ordered on the table? It makes me think that this behavior was intentional and the price of a bottle was calculated deliberately. I usually don’t know how to check the bill, but this time we looked and found an error. I am not sure about this. Is it normal for stores to do this?

Pro: great view Cons: food and service Service slow and not accurate. We had asked for bread with the soup and we have got it at the end of the lunch, before the check. We have asked tap water and we have got bottled water. Food Catch of the day pretty tiny portion pan fried. Heilbot fish is a very small portion (see picture), smaller than a fried chip! It was very dry, it was absolutely tasteless. For 23.5 € fish, it is massively disappointing. Fish soup was good. I would recommend this place for a very small bite and a nice drink for the view. PS we have been charged for the tap water, maybe it is a NL thing. Not common in most countries both in EU and in US and many more, it was worth maybe mentioning to the costumers.

The dining environment is very beautiful, with a strong artistic atmosphere, and the food is delicious. The apple beer is very sweet. I feel very comfortable sitting in the restaurant while eating and looking at the scenery by the window.

The little extra snacks were delicious. The shrimp were in a delicious sauce. Scallops were perfect and the carpaccio melted. The coffee complete with friandises was a delicious ending. The prices are average. The atmosphere is extraordinary. The temperature of the case is good.

We were deceived by the atmosphere from the outside and went in. We regretted it. This was the first time we came across employees who were as racist as the waiters and did not like tourists. While they were providing a great service to their own citizens right next to us, they did not even want to take our order and we called them several times. Then we asked for salt. No matter how many times we asked. We saw that the salt did not come and we went to them and bought the salt. Bad service. It was the worst experience we had in Amsterdam. I do not recommend it!

For lunch we had a delicious pea soup with kate bacon, tasty pitteg and well filled. Recommended.
