Cafe Restaurant Polder in Middenmeer

Cozy atmosphere and good food! I sometimes come here after a walk in Anna's Tuin & Ruigte. It's a shame, though, that every time I've been, I had to walk to the bar to order; no one has ever come to my table to take an order. You also pay at the bar yourself. Because of this, I've never left a tip. It's a lovely place, but unfortunately, the service is terrible.

Right by the university science center. Yummy food and cozy environment.

The food is good, but the server gave himself a bigger tip than the one mentioned, being careful not to show the card machine. I only discovered it the next day on my bank statement.

I really enjoyed the summer terrace. It was quiet and peaceful, with delicious tea and light snacks. The staff was friendly and everything was arranged quickly. The decor is also beautiful. A wonderful place to relax.

This restaurant apparently serves dishes that don't match the menu description: instead of pine nuts, there are pomegranate seeds. And instead of basil leaves, you discover a bunch of arugula sprigs! The mozzarella wasn't buffalo mozzarella either, as the flavor was flat and bland. You should never underestimate a customer! Honesty is the best policy. P.S. But the fries were fine.

It's a lovely, quiet location (with free parking) and the interior is relaxed, giving the dining area a homey and casual atmosphere. The staff is generally friendly and speaks Dutch! They're not always attentive, so you might end up waiting at least fifteen minutes at your reserved table while others are being helped politely (advice: study the menu beforehand and order immediately upon being shown to your table, otherwise wait patiently for fifteen minutes or longer). Also, last time we visited, we weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink or dessert, or if we enjoyed our meal. Perhaps a summer day isn't the best time to eat there. We'll try again in the winter. The food was good quality, as far as I can tell. The fries were especially great: crispy. The Angus burger and cheese fondue were excellent. The house lemon lime was also delicious. The lemon cheesecake is also highly recommended. The house lemon lime is delicious, except for the lemon; it barely tastes like lemon. A solid 4 (that's an 8)

We had another delicious meal here on Saturday evening.

Delicious Greek omelet with good bread and real butter. The price is also good. The service is professional and welcoming. I'll be back!

Ik kom wel vaker bij Polder. Het is gewoon een heel fijne plek. Prima wijntjes, super vega bitterballen, lekker eten en lieve bediening. In de zomer bovendien het fijnste terras van Amsterdam. En dat alles in een gezellige en ongedwongen sfeer.

I recently visited Café Polder in Amsterdam, beautifully situated on the Buitenring. What immediately struck me – and is a huge plus – is that parking is free. This is almost unimaginable in Amsterdam, as parking prices are normally exorbitant. But Café Polder has its own grounds, which immediately makes going there much more relaxing. When I arrived, the café was packed. This created quite a buzz, so I could barely hear my girlfriend at first. Personally, I found that a bit unpleasant. Fortunately, it calmed down over time, and from then on, we had a truly wonderful time. The food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere warm and inviting, and you can tell this is a place where people like to gather. Despite the crowds, Café Polder is definitely recommended – a lovely place to enjoy a meal, drinks, and the relaxed Amsterdam atmosphere.

We were sitting outside with a group of about 15. Due to the size of the group, we couldn't order lunch dishes with eggs. If you're expecting a group, shouldn't you have taken that into account? The shrimp croquettes with toast were very disappointing. The croquettes were tasty, but so tiny and too few (3 pieces) to fit on the amount of toast (4 pieces). I also expected more from the toast than two thin slices of white bread. Furthermore, it only came with a small bowl of butter and a lettuce leaf. Sorry, but I didn't think it was worth the money and definitely wouldn't recommend it. I was still hungry, even though I'm a light eater. Compared to, for example, the salmon dish, this paled in comparison. One or two good slices of bread, a slightly larger croquette or one more croquette, and a more varied presentation would have made it much more appealing. The service was friendly, but they failed to notice that a rising wind had blown a parasol across the entire terrace, and that the others had to be held and lowered by us. A bit sloppy. It's nicer to sit at a long table with a group, but the parasols are fixed to the ground, and in very hot weather, you can't push the tables together, as that would mean four people sharing the sun.

Restaurante informal, como casi todos en Amsterdam, dentro de la Universidad. Sevicio amable y rápido, califdad normal de la comida y algunas raciuones abundantes como los nachos. Precios razonables.

I had dinner at your place, and we had delicious salads: Caesar salad, melon salad, and goat cheese. We also ordered a fish dish, but it was prepared with quite a bit of oil, and when I asked about the tomato salsa, a server said it was just cherry tomato pieces (slices) 🤔 Okay... I've never heard of tomato pieces being sold as salsa, but (after 33 years of kitchen experience), I'm sure you're right. It was my first time at your place, and since my mother enjoyed the delicious salads so much, it won't be the last.

Only had a delicious cappuccino here. So didn't eat.

Had a delicious meal at Polder on Friday, April 25, 2025. The fish of the day, sea bass with tasty vegetables and fries (instead of sweet potato and quinoa) tasted good, fresh and beautifully presented. The sirloin steak was also delicious. Service and atmosphere excellent.

This bustling catering establishment is located between the gateways of our capital and the Science Park. With parking spaces next to the door and near public transport. Outside you can take a seat on the sunny terrace. There is always a casual apotheosis here! The service is friendly and the cuisine is in good hands. In short: come to Polder!

Polder was always our neighborhood restaurant and now that we no longer live in the area, it still is. If we don't know where we want to eat, we always like to come back here for both lunch and dinner. The casual and pleasant atmosphere, a well-thought-out menu that changes regularly, a nice selection of drinks and nice and friendly staff. And of course the food is always delicious. I would say you couldn't ask for more for a night out for dinner. I recommend the burger, beer stew and cheese fondue if you come for dinner!

We have loved coming here for years. Eating delicious pancakes with the children. Today we were there with a larger group including children and sat in the front house. Delicious food and very relaxed with the children with all the toys.

Excellent vegetarian options with incredible taste. Cosy, old building that has been respectfully modernized with nice green outdoor seating options and very friendly staff.

It’s a nice place to go close to Science Park. Food is okay (nothing special tho), the hamburger was fine. Drinks as normal, and prices overall are average. The atmosphere inside is quite nice, has a nice “architecture“ let’s say. If you are close by or at the University in Science Park then stopping by for a drink or a snack is a good option.

The place to be, I come there sometimes every day, it is a great place to have a drink and eat, friendly staff, nothing is too much, you feel like you are outside Amsterdam but you are right next to the UvA Sciensepark. Simply recommended.

The food was not up to mine and my grandmother's standards, the portions were below average and the service forgot many of the side dishes. They only deserve 2 stars because the dessert was passable.

Een leuk restaurant met een lekkere lunch

Dame die ons serveerde heel onbeschoft, super jammer. Is leuke tent, maar lijkt alsof personeel zo gedraagt omdat er geen leidinggevende is? Erg jammer, verpest wel de ervaring.

Good burgers and prepares food until quite late on the evening. It is an ideal place to go to when you visit a graduation ceremomy. The burger was good but a bit too done for my taste. The porties of fries was a bit small.

Toen ik hier was was er bijna niemand dus de sfeer was wel wat minder. De service en het eten waren alle twee prima maar het eten was wel heel lekker

Eten was lekker. Ik had de zalm, goed gebakken, het enige was dat het lag in een laag olie waardoor het veel minder lekker was. Daarnaast was er een ongepelde knoflook aanwezig wat ik wel lekker vond en de hazelnoten vond ik ook erg lekker. Mijn partner had de entrecote en deze was ook erg smaakvol. De chardonnay was lekker maar het glas werd wel vrij leeg geserveerd

Buitenboel mag wel een opknapbeurt hebben. Stoelen zitten niet lekker. Leuke lokatie.

Beoordeling op basis van een enkel bezoek op een bloedhete zondagmiddag: prima gezeten op het terras onder een supergrote parasol en (dus) helemaal in de schaduw. Met een aardig briesje erbij was het prima uit te houden. Leuke, vlotte bediening die tijd had ook voor wat interactie met de klanten. Lekkere kroketjes op brood als lunch gegeten. Naast het terras begint/eindigt een pad door een mooi stukje natuur: Anna's Tuin & Ruigte, erg leuk! De Polder is overigens gevestigd in een boederij uit 1719, alles bij elkaar een bijzondere plek, vind ik.

Gezellige zaak Bij het viaduct de kruising over en dan zie je het pand aan de rechterkant. Parkeren op eigen parkeerplaats. Leuk detail zijn de bedstedes waar je aan een tafeltje kan zitten. Er is ook een terras. Een aanrader.

Fijne zaak waar je lekker kunt eten en drinken. Ook voor een feestje. Zit in een voormalige boerderij waar nog oude dingen van te herkennen zijn. O.a. 2 bedstede waar je nu lekker aan een tafeltje kunt kunt zitten om wat te kunnen drinken.

Lekker gegeten, snelle en vriendelijke bediening. Top!

In dit restaurant kom ik al sinds de opening en gek genoeg nooit een review over geschreven. Waarschijnlijk omdat het altijd al een super leuke plek is om te zijn. Dus voor mij is het een soort vaste waarde. Met het “volwassen” worden van het hele science park is Polder wel iets van zijn houtje touwtje manier van werken kwijtgeraakt maar dat doet niets af aan de oprechte hartelijkheid van de eigenaren (Dick en Hans) en de ongedwongen sfeer. Ook het personeel is een bewijs van dat dit een fijne plek is: sommige werken hier al jaren en jaren (yes Mark en jongen met mooie lange zwarte haar achter de bar :-) Eten is prima, prijs heel fair en in de zomer kun je ook heerlijk buiten zitten. Oh ja en naast treinstation: dan kunnen je vrienden van buiten de stad easy aanschuiven.
