The food was truly delicious. The dishes were well-balanced, the service was friendly, and the price was reasonable.

We were glad we could get in without a reservation. The smell of delicious food was wonderful when we walked in. We were a bit surprised that there wasn't a drinks menu on the table to choose from. The restaurant doesn't have a particularly extensive menu, but we like that. We had an onion soup starter, which was truly delicious. The schnitzel with cream sauce was very tasty, as was the steak with onion and mushrooms. The service was prompt and friendly. The decor is a bit dated, but that's a good thing. The price-quality ratio was good.

Nice ambience and decoration with the possibility of retracting and lowering both the roof and side parts in summer. Attentive and friendly service, which is of course multilingual in a border town. Free parking in the inner courtyard! We operate internationally in terms of gastronomy and claim: owner-managed! Great value for money! We felt comfortable and in good hands on all of our visits. We'd love to come back!

Had dinner with 2 people on Saturday April 12, 2025. Nice sitting on the covered terrace on this summery spring evening. The food was old-fashioned good, and by that we mean it was nice that the taste took us back to the good old days at home! No nonsense, more than enough, for a very good price! In short, we were happy afterwards that there was no room in the restaurant at Van der Valk a little further away. The service was smooth and very friendly. Worth repeating for us, unfortunately we don't live nearby!

Just about the only restaurant in Vaals where you feel like you're in a restaurant. Super friendly service, who make you feel truly welcome. Simple menu, but something for everyone. Dishes aren't flashy, just simple and delicious. And the price isn't a problem; they offer reasonable prices, making dining out a real treat.

I've been going to this restaurant for years. Today sheer horror. I let the food go back, it was really disgusting with no taste. My girlfriend's is also just underground. Then you couldn't pay with a card, supposedly bad internet in Vaals. This worked in all other stores. So you won't see me here anymore. It's a real shame, it was really great before.

Not very special to be honest. The food was reasonable, the service was correct, but no more than that. There was little enthusiasm. The atmosphere in the restaurant was ok. The price was reasonable.

This is an older establishment with a dark interior. But we meet up with former schoolmates to chat, then the rest is secondary.

We were there for a small lunch, delicious food, friendly service and a nice place to sit on the covered and heated terrace.

If you want to taste the tastiest zoervleisj, this is the place for you! We had a great time after walking 24km. Fries and beer completed the party. Pleasant service too.

We always come here when we are on holiday. Always good food and very nice people. They always make time for a chat. Good and tasty food.

Went here for lunch with the children last summer holiday. My husband and I ordered a wrap with smoked salmon and the children a drink platter, because there was nothing special for children. When we got our wraps, my husband and I looked at each other as if we were both thinking the same thing at the same time. The wrap with salmon was a thinly rolled wrap with only a thin plate of salmon in between. This had been cut in half and placed on a long plate and yes, there was still a slice of orange on it for decoration. We found it quietly laughable that we had to pay €12 each for this. The children received a platter with 3 slices of sausage, some cubes of cheese, some olives and 4 bitterballen. This had good taste, but also sparse. We paid properly and went to the supermarket a little further to get a sandwich for all of us to satisfy our hunger. Very unfortunate

Food ok, but salt was missing everywhere. Re-salting is possible, but with sauce or meat it is not the same as if it had already been prepared with enough salt. The service was very friendly, although it took a relatively long time for someone to take care of us. We had to actively ask for service. But maybe that's normal in the Netherlands. The free parking spaces behind the house are positive. However, they are also used by people who are not guests of the restaurant. In the meantime, vehicles were standing in the middle of parked cars that were no longer able to get out of their box. A different solution would be appropriate here, e.g. B. Chip for the exit for restaurant visitors, while others have to pay.

Cozy atmosphere, good and friendly service (Ukrainian young man who made a lot of effort to speak good Dutch!!) Ate outside on the terrace; it was almost like we were on holiday (which is of course the case for some when they visit Vaals) Highly recommended for us.

The food is very tasty and neatly presented. The menu is not very extensive, but there is something for everyone. The prices are enormous. Highly recommended. You can park freely at the rear. It is advisable to book in advance.

After a walk in Vaals, we had a nice dinner here, a three-course menu for a good price. The waitresses here are very friendly.

Good service, small menu and not too expensive and private parking

Delicious food. We had the daily menu which consisted of (originally) broccoli 🥦 soup, but we opted for the super tasty onion soup with two small snitzels in white wine sauce with mushrooms as a main course. Fresh fries and baked potatoes were served with fresh vegetables and a salad. To finish we had an ice cream and cappuccino for dessert with an extra glass of whipped cream and a delicious final Petit Four. All equally tasty and good portions. We have not lacked anything. The owner is very friendly and takes the time for you.

You feel welcome, the service and food are great. We are staying in an exclusive hotel in Vaals, but the chefs there can still learn a thing or two from the chef here. No frills on a bed of vague things, just good, fresh food. Service ensures that you feel welcome and that you lack nothing. After the delicious dinner, the modest bill ensures that your evening is completely good 😉 We will definitely come back here again.

I have to say, my visit to Suisse was super disappointing, especially because of the waitress. Apparently there is an unwritten rule there when it comes to WiFi and sockets. You have to order something every half hour if you want to use the WiFi or charge your device, otherwise you get kicked out. But no one tells you in advance and then you are treated so badly. We came around 10:40, ordered two cappuccinos and asked about the Wi-Fi as my partner wanted to work there for an hour. The waitress was very unfriendly from the start. At around 11:10 am, when we plugged in the laptop, she immediately came to us and told us to order something new. My partner said "we don't need anything at the moment, thank you." Then she got angry and said: "Then you should leave because you are using the WiFi and now you are also using electricity, which is very expensive!" We had just finished our drinks and wanted to leave soon anyway. I tried to explain to her that I have never heard of such a rule and that if they have this particular rule, they should communicate it clearly beforehand. But she really wasn't helpful and we ended up leaving earlier than planned! This unnecessary behavior really ruined our day. I really feel compelled to tell and warn others about this. Hopefully the restaurant will address this issue and find a solution to improve the waitress' behavior!

Prima gegeten. Prijs kwaliteit ook goed. Hoofdgerechtenkaart is niet uitgebreid maar daar staat een prima goede kwaliteit tegenover. Enige discussie punt aan tafel was of de frieten en de aardappelkroketjes in ossegalvet gebaken waren of dat er ook vis gebakken is in het frituurvet. Toch echt een aanrader.

Tolles Restaurant in Vaals. Hier hat man für uns immer ein Plätzchen frei. Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Guter Service, gutes Essen.

Als je echt lekker wilt eten moet je hier zijn

Dinee keurig verzorgt. Nette bediening. Redelijke prijs.

12 uurtje besteld. Was wel lekker, maar bij boterham met kroket zat geen boter. Ook bestelden wij 2 boterhammen met 2 kroketten. Maar dat was slechts anderhalve boterham. Eén boterham zat al verstopt onder de bovenste boterham. Niet erg netjes. Er zat wel boter bij, maar dat was de hoeveelheid van 1 theelepel, wel wat karig voor 2 boterhammen. We vroegen om meer boter en lieten de hoeveelheid en de 1 1/2 boterham zien. De boter kwam er wel, maar ze had ook een boterham uit zichzelf bij de boter kunnen leveren. Jammer, maar deze toeristen gaan volgende keer bij een ander kijken. Voor Suisse een gemiste kans. Het zal ze hoogst waarschijnlijk niets doen, er komen toch toeristen genoeg. Doe je best Suisse en maak er wat van. Ga er voor.

Super sfeervol restaurant en ontzettend vriendelijk personeel. Het zat al redelijk vol, maar ze maakte gelijk een plek vrij waar wij plaats mochten nemen. Ivm onze grote hond is dat niet overal vanzelfsprekend. Het eten was heerlijk echt een tip als je een keer in Vaals bent.

29 april spontaan binnen gelopen. Aangename verrassing. Heerlijk eten, goede bediening, rustige muziek op de achtergrond. Top!

Aan de hoofdstraat van Vaals gelegen restaurant in het bezit van een verhoogd terras met glazen wanden(geen wind) en een af te sluiten variabel dak. Ook prettig bij iets minder weer. Heerlijk bakje cappuccino en een aardig aanbod aan taart en vlaai. Hebben we een keer afgeslagen anderhalf uur na het ontbijt….

Een leuk restaurant in het centrum van Vaals. Een klein gedeelte binnen, bij de bar en een grotere ruimte als terras, met verwarmingselementen. Ik koos een koffie, een broodje tonijnsalade en een biertje. Erg smakelijk broodje. Enige nadeel was dat de dame in de bediening alleen stond en niet altijd aandacht had voor alle tafels. Ze was overigens wel erg vriendelijk.

Sehr lecker. So wie Hausgemacht. Zu empfehlen.

Ik vond het erg lekker eten het was heel leuk en gezellig het personeel was heel vriendelijk ik raad zeker aan om daar een keer te eten!

Mooi ingericht! Heel net, goed personeel, ook vrolijk! Het eten was verrukkelijk! Alleen waren de frietjes niet heel erg gaar, was net een hap aardappel. Verder zijn de stoelen niet voor de langere mensen, harde stoelen, ster tafel(vier poten) waar je niet gemakkelijk de benen kwijt kan. Voor de rest is alles goed! Een aanrader als je tijd hebt voor een lange zit.

Goed gegeten hier! We hadden het weekmenu wat bestond uit een erg lekker mosterdsoepje met geklopte slagroom. Wij kenden het nog niet op deze manier maar was verrassend lekker! Daarna een heerlijke boterzachte biefstuk met pepersaus, en daarbij frietjes, gegratineerde aardappeltjes, wat groente en salade. Als nagerechtje konden we kiezen tussen een ijsje en koffie of thee. Wij kozen voor de koffie dus geen oordeel over het dessert. Prijs van dit menu was 29.50 dus best prima gezien de horecaprijzen momenteel. Heel klein minpuntje; de menukaart staat niet op de website en ook op internet hebben we hem niet kunnen vinden dus zijn op de gok gegaan maar dat heeft dus goed uitgepakt.
