Vols brasserie in Wijk 01 Vaals

On Saturday, after a somewhat rainy morning in the pretty little town of Vaals, we stopped for a light meal at Vols. Because of the weather, we didn't want to use the lovely, spacious terrace and took a seat at a free table inside the modern brasserie. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member who asked what we would like and promptly brought our drinks. The menu offers plenty of options for both light snacks and hearty meals. There's also a special lunch menu during the week. We chose toast with ham, cheese, and pineapple, as well as boerenbrood with buffalo mozzarella. Both were served promptly, were beautifully presented, tasted delicious, and completely satisfied us. A great place, very friendly staff, freshly prepared, tasty dishes, and reasonable prices. We highly recommend Vols and will definitely be back. P.S.: The best ricotta-filled ravioli ever. A must-try!

It's actually just a nice, simple place with friendly staff. We had a delicious lunch. There's often something fun going on right outside, and the terrace is very inviting!

What a disappointment! Extremely overpriced. I don't mind paying a bit for it, but it should be reasonable. Ham & cheese toastie €11 on a regular white sandwich! Should cost a maximum of €6.50, the cheese wasn't melted and was just lukewarm. Farmhouse bread with tuna salad was €13, one slice of brown bread with a lot of overly flavorful lettuce!

Don't walk in here. They'd rather see you leave than come in. A woman comes over and asks, "What do you want?" She says, "We'd like lunch," and then throws the menus on the table and walks away. Bizarre brasserie, don't go there. You'll find a much better one.

It's a very nice place, you can sit comfortably with large groups.

I ate the chicken and it was maybe not good i came home and am in pain my stomach is hurting from the food

The interior decoration was nice, but the service was not so good. I had to wait almost 30 minutes for one pancake even though there were hardly any people. The overall price seems a bit high compared to the service.

Based on the rave reviews, we chose this restaurant. The food was fine. But the whole; service, atmosphere, attentiveness of staff, etc. was quite disappointing. It was okay, but nothing more than that. The food was fine.

I had found a photo from an earlier review...shrimp and piece of steak. This was no longer on the menu, but the chef was happy to make it for me It tasted just like the picture looked...amazingly delicious

Top place for tasty food and friendly service.

Tonight we had a delicious meal with the children, it was hospitable and what struck us most was that the owner is a top entrepreneur, at home in all markets and even through the crowds he made sure that no one was short of anything, jumped in wherever necessary and kept an eye on everything. Definitely recommended and worth repeating.

So far...and I have been able to confirm this again and again for years, I really enjoy being in the Vaalser Brasserie. The food is great, the service is friendly and quick. The boss alone is worth the trip. The ambience is also tailored to the season in summer, winter and in between, everything is just right. I'm very happy with you. ❤️

Great terrace... but €7 for an iced coffee is an absurd amount! After all, it's just coffee with ice cubes and a flavored syrup in it. I've never paid that for anything!

Particularly good brasserie, where hospitality is still of paramount importance, perfectly prepared meat and fish, good draft beer and super tasty prosecco. Highly recommended for those who want to eat out or have a nice drink in Vaals.

I had an amazing dinner in this nice place, with such a tasty steak. The restaurant’s owner is so passionate about beer than you can trust on his knowledge, he will recommend you the best one.

We arrived by chance, we were hungry after the baths 😉 We ordered salmon, schnitzel, lava cake. The salmon was simply excellent, highly recommended with lots of butter, and properly seasoned. My husband loved the schnitzel, but he loved his dish even more

Great atmosphere. Professional and very friendly staff. Recently sat on the terrace with friends. Drank 2 bottles of champagne. Add snacks. Had a very pleasant evening. Lots of laughs, great atmosphere. Owner is a very knowledgeable man. That responds to the wishes of the customers. Worth repeating. Brasserie Vols can only be recommended.

A gem in Vaals! Vols is an easy recommendation that offers a culinary experience that you should definitely try. The chef's craftsmanship can clearly be tasted in every dish. The meat is of top quality and you notice that immediately. The moelleux is highly recommended and a must try if you are there! Vols is really a must-visit for lovers of good food for a fair price, nice portions and delicious desserts 👌🏼

Thanks to the huge windows, you can read there at Vlaai and Koffie Verkeerd and enjoy the view of the Aachen Schneeberg.

Dinner at Vols is not a success. To be addressed by the waiter only in German in the Netherlands is not good hospitality. Paying €4.95 for a glass filled with 1.5 cm of wine does not increase the festive spirit. Then ordered schnitzels. These were 2 small children's portions per person at adult price. The fries were limp (old?) In short, Vols is not recommended in our opinion.

A bit disappointed with the quality of the coffee on offer. The previous operator had a more comfortable interior and the coffee was significantly better.

This place is a big positive surprise. Very tasty food.

Very tasty meal. The lava cake in particular was very popular with the children. A 23-year-old recipe that is said (the son is an eminence in the field of lava cakes) that it is certainly (if not more than) worth it. I personally liked the garlic chill sauce. In combination with the ribeye, this was the eye-catcher of the evening.

Wij lopen the Dutch Mountain Trail en overnachten deze keer in Vaals. Savonds lekker uit eten maar er is zo veel keuze in Vaals. Ons oog viel op een restaurant bij het busstation, Vols. De naam te danken aan het dialect wat Vaals betekent. Hier vanavond gegeten. We hadden niet gereserveerd maar kunnen ons bedenken dat het in de toekomst wel noodzakelijk is. Wat een top ondernemer! Gastheerschap ten top en voor de keuken heeft hij zelf áan het roer gestaan. Elk gerecht komt uit zijn koker. Wij aten vooraf de dagsoep wat vandaag de groentesoep was, boordevol groente. Het was een pittig soepje en zeer welkom na een dag wandelen. Ik bestelde voor hoofdgerecht de zalmmoot en mijn partner een salade geitenkaas. Die laatste was met afgebakken eigen gemaakte broodjes. We dronken hierbij een Sangiovese -Merlot combinatie uit Puglia, een huiswijn maar zeker de moeite waard. We sloten af met een heerlijk kop koffie.

Jammer ik kon de openingstijden niet vinden bij de Rond om de ingangen Toen heb ik bij reviews op Google gekeken daar stond openingstijd gelukkig wel 11:00

Sehr schöne Brasserie und Restaurant. Der belgische Inhaber (Daniele) hat viel Herzblut investiert. Ich war mit dem Fahrrad von Aachen dort. Parkplatz für Autos gibt es im Albert Heijn. Sehr schöne Sonnenterasse und super Kaffee.

Tijdens onze wandeling in Vaals liepen we hier langs. Gaan zitten om een hapje en drankje te doen. Goed eten voor een normale prijs. Verder goeie en vriendelijk personeel. Ga zo door.

Preiswertes Lokal mit nettem Service.

Mooie locatie, maar zeer slechte bediening. De jonge dame die rondliep had meer oog voor de vaste klanten dan voor alle andere gasten. De engelssprekende jongen die rondliep deed nog enigszins zijn best. De tosti en een bittergarnituur lieten ruim 50 minuten op zich wachten. In de tijd dat wij er zaten hebben we veel mensen weg zien lopen en lang zien zitten wachten. Helaas is dit niet bepaald een aanrader...jammer.

Schöne Terrasse zum Verweilen. Schöne Pause vom Radfahren. Toller Service. Viele Möglichkeiten, die Fahrräder abzustellen.

Het was er reuze gezellig, vriendelijke mensen en we werden snel geholpen.

Ontzettend lekker gegeten! Eigenaar met passie voor zijn zaak.. fijne uitleg van de gerechten zijn enthousiasme doet eten. De gerechten zagen en er super uit alles zeer vers en met veel liefde bereidt.

Endlich mal wieder hier auf einen Kaffee das schöne Wetter genießen Vom ersten Eindruck ist die außenbestuhlung eingekürzt worden. Die Karte ist nur noch ein bedrucktes Blatt. Und man soll nicht meinen welche Auswirkung ein missgelaunter Mitarbeiter hat Den nächsten Besuch werden wir wohl in nem anderen Kaffee verbringen. Sehr schade es war mal richtig gut aber seit dem Besitzerwechsel scheint es sich zu verändern

Het eten was 1 grote verrassing, kwalitatief erg goed. Zeer gedreven eigenaar die weet wat hij wil en wat goed is. Ruimschoots tijd voor persoonlijke aandacht. Kortom: absoluut de moeite waard!

Heerlijk gelunched op een topadres. Wij hebben het als gemoedelijk ervaren en de geboden service en kwaliteit van de uitgezochte lunch (véél keuze!) waren van topkwaliteit. De eigenaar wist te vertellen dat alles uit eigen keuken komt en van uiterst verse kwaliteit is. Écht een aanrader en wanneer wij weer een keer in zuid Limburg terug komen gaan wij zéker terug naar dit adres!!

Ik heb hier, samen met mijn man, gegeten. Het was heerlijk. Ik had zalm besteld. Het zag er mooi uit, het smaakte heerlijk, de bediening was aardig, snel en erg gastvrij. We gaan hier zeker nog een keer terugkomen.

Mijn vriendin en ik zijn tijdens onze vakantie, naar dit restaurant gegaan. Het is echt een heel mooi restaurant. Je wordt echt met liefde verwelkomd. De sfeer is gezellig. En het eten is echt top! Ik raad echt de angus steak babytop aan. We hebben niet alles op kunnen eten. Maar zelf dat is geen probleem. De medewerkers pakken met alle liefde je eten in, zodat je het later weer kan opeten

Leckeres Essen, super Service, tolle Location

We hebben hier met 5 personen heel goed gegeten. De gastheer heeft duidelijk ervaring in de branche en kan goed vertellen over de gerechten die worden geserveerd. Een echte aanrader voor het nagerecht is het lava cakeje.

Zopas met mijn dochters gaan eten. Supervriendelijke ontvangst en lekker eten. Agnus beef was heel lekker en de linguine met scampi's overheerlijk.

Vanmiddag wezen eten met 4, waaronder 1 kind. Allemaal zijn we gegaan voor de verschillende pasta. Erg vriendelijk personeel en de pastas waren allemaal super lekker en goed heet. Ook zeker geen kleine bordjes, en konden eten van dochter ook meenemen. (Bediening wilde wel graag dat ze het ook thuis later ging opeten. ;) Dit heeft ze bij deze ook gedaan!) Dank jullie wel!
