Friendly and correct service and a great view and excellent food.

May 10th we were able to celebrate our wedding at Lodge. Last year we had a conversation with Ilona about our wedding and we were immediately so enthusiastic about her ideas. Ilona thought along with everything and nothing was too much. On Friday we were able to decorate ourselves and Ilona and her team dotted the i's. From the decorations at the wedding itself, to the set table, to the food, everything was really perfect. The staff who were present at our wedding all day knew what they were doing and the guests did not want for anything on our wedding day. The location is great and we were very lucky with the weather, which sometimes made you feel like you were in Italy. Our compliments and thanks for organizing and thinking along on our wedding day, thanks to you as a team we had a great day and enjoyed it immensely!

Stopped here on a motorcycle ride. Despite many reservations, they still made an effort to find a table for two 👌. The food was delicious, nothing to complain about. There was a sign saying they were taking over the business. Hopefully, that won't affect the food, because it was delicious. Highly recommended.

A fantastic location with an unparalleled view. We enjoyed a lovely meal outside, and the service was good and pleasant. It's a shame they're closing.

Restaurant with a beautiful view

On April 25, 2025 we held our small intimate wedding at Lodge in Vaals. From the beginning we have had very nice contact with Ilona. From first introductions to exchanging ideas to preparations and the actual implementation of this special day. Lodge not only has a fantastic location with good food, but also fantastic employees with a passion for hospitality. We are so very grateful that we were able to celebrate our special day at this special location. A thousand thanks. 🤍

Just been there, great salads and the coffee was also delicious. The highlight: Fried cake with salmon and salad. That was today's lunch dish! Unfortunately it's not on the normal menu. Maybe it will be recorded someday. Would love to come back,

Perfect stop if you drive the marl route

It was beautiful weather recently, we saw people sitting outside on the terrace, so we stopped, got the dog out of the car and decided to have coffee and cake, once we arrived on the terrace we were sent away, the terrace was closed outside, huh, there are people outside with drinks, yes, but they no longer served outside, only inside, long story short, we drove a few kilometers further, where we were warmly welcomed and sat in the sun!

Too bad! The beautiful view compensates for the strange rules regarding whether or not you have access to the indoor terrace, the unfriendliness of the staff and the inaccessibility for people with a physical disability. Small portions. Drinks are relatively expensive.

Only had a drink so I can't comment on the food. Brasserie Lodge has a beautiful view over the hilly country, Vaals and Aachen in the distance.

Very delicious apple shtrudel and coffee, perfect service and amazing view! We will definitely come back! Big free parking is close to restaurant which is very convenient. And book the table in advance on weekend, cos that place is very popular!

The “Luxe Vlaai” cake is a hit. We then also had dinner here. Beetroot in puff pastry with vegetables and croquettes. Really very tasty, good food.

The restaurant has a nice relaxed atmosphere. It is small-scale, so it is not too busy. The food is tasty (especially the apple strudel). We've eaten here a number of times now, and it never disappoints. If we are in the area, we would love to come back again.

Super atmospheric location with beautiful views!! We also celebrated our wedding here, which was fantastic! Warm service, on the day itself you can hand over everything in good faith, photos with a beautiful background of the Limburg landscape and everything so beautifully decorated!! There is no shortage of drinks, because people here pay very close attention, in a nice way. And the food, in addition to super quality, so good, so delicious, we thought it was very impressive that about 50 plates were served almost at the same time, more than half of which were steak, and yet all perfect! And the portions are absolutely generous, really great!

We had a staff outing and were provided with delicious pie and coffee upon arrival. After a long walk in the beautiful surroundings we also enjoyed dinner. Well arranged.

The only positive thing is the beautiful location/view. Went there today and asked the waitress if dogs were allowed...she said yes and brought us to the table. A very friendly older gentleman took our drinks order. 5 minutes later this waitress comes back to us at the table and says we should put our dog somewhere else, he would disturb you! (He was lying at the table with us and didn't bother anyone) That's an outrage. We will never visit this location again and recommend it to other dog owners. Dogs not welcome with this person. It's a shame that I can't post the picture of our dog lying down.

Sunday at 4:30 PM when we go to the terrace of Brasserie Lodge, there were still quite a few people outside, a young boy comes up to us and asks if we want to eat or just have a drink. (No work clothes) We say that we only wanted something to drink, he then says the terrace is closed, the people who were sitting there were still allowed to sit. We called the restaurant to say that it was getting too cold and the terrace will close at 5:00 PM, it is not stated anywhere, the site says it is open until 8:00 PM. They just didn't feel like having customers, so you will be fobbed off. So stay here. but leave and go to a terrace that is worth the money for a cup of coffee. HAPPY SUNDAY........

Things have deteriorated since new owners moved in. Little choice in terms of food and you can't get a sandwich because this is against the rules (apparently only for children), which is not worth repeating. There are also no raisins in this. Downright bad

Had a lovely lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon on the terrace. Plenty of parking, dog friendly and plenty of staff. Sandwiches on fresh bread with more than enough salad and well priced. Recommended!

It was busy outside on the terrace. Stress. Nowadays terraces have signs stating that the table is reserved at 5.15 pm. Besides the fact that the catering industry in the Netherlands is quite expensive, determined by the brewery, you now have to register before you can sit down.

Nice restaurant in Vijlen where you can enjoy walking and cycling, Ordered delicious goulash and onion soup, it was delicious. Suggestion baguette with herb butter would be the icing on the cake

Delicious food and friendly service. Fantastic view. It is of course best to sit outside with this view, but the interior is also very nicely decorated. I found a lot of attention to detail, for example hot plates, consultation about special dietary requirements. I had the opportunity to musically organize an Italian evening last weekend and the collaboration was simply great, very cordial and professional. Recommended for something to drink, eat or have a party.

Ate with group. Then it becomes limited and many errors. The menu is actually nothing special, but it is fine for a quick bite if you have few requirements.

On the way to the Art Market in Vaals we stopped here for a delicious Latte Machiato with a delicious piece of 'Paulus vlaai' (rice flan, cherries, whipped cream and foam pieces) that is very similar to a so-called 'ski vlaai'. Beautiful terrace location with a stunning view of the surrounding area and friendly service.

After my lunch I wanted pancakes for dessert. They refused to serve this because I was too old. Then I didn't order anything.

After visiting the three-country point, we wanted to have dinner somewhere in a beautiful and quiet location, this turned out to be the ideal place. A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful place. A few years ago it looked very neglected, but a lot has been done to give it a good appearance again. Unfortunately, the service was friendly but somewhat curt and that didn't really give you the feeling that you were welcome. Flan with cappuccino was good.

When we asked the waiter for a table, we were treated unfriendly. It is understandable that it is busy when the weather is sunny, but it is incomprehensible that you respond curtly and unfriendly to guests.

Beautifully located with a great view. Upon arrival it was indicated that it would take a while before food could be served and whether that was a problem. We were in no hurry and ordered a delicious pie for the little one. Our daughter hurt herself and the very concerned owner came back with some ice to ease the pain. In the end we didn't have to wait very long for the food and we were able to enjoy the delicious food. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area!
