The christmas celebration was superb

The food was delicious and the price quite reasonable, but the best part was the service. The lady who served us was very kind and attentive throughout the entire meal! We ordered the typical dishes (ribs, croquettes, and meatballs with mashed potatoes) and we loved them.

Go there for the atmosphere alone, and also for the very nice neighborhood. The food is simple but good and plentiful, and you'll have a great evening.

After waiting outside, keeping our place in line, we went into the hall between the two doors. A woman came out and asked us how many people were in our party. When I told her there were four of us in English, she could tell we were Spanish. Her expression changed, and she told us to wait there until I came back. Two Dutch families (judging by their language) came in, and her smile gave her away. We left without another word. What a shame.

One of the best food establishments during my trip to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and here’s why: First, the food. We ordered ribs, tomato soup with bread, Homemade Meatball, Bitterballen and their Homemade Apple Pie. I must say that their Apple Pie is the best one I’ve had during my entire trip across several European countries. Soft, sweet and palatable! The waiting staff were very helpful. While we arrived at the restaurant an hour earlier than we had reserved for, the staff were able to get us seat as soon as possible. Remember to make a reservation in advance, or they will refuse service. They have to, because they are frequently packed with diners. Tables and chairs are very close to each other, maximizing the number of guests they can house, however it does make the dining experience a bit uncomfortable. Great place for chatting over drinks, though. All in all, I do plan to revisit to try their Apple Pie again during my next trip to Amsterdam!

Dry ribs and chicken skewer (the sauce was the only thing adding flavor). No drink prices were listed. Seating was very cramped—it felt like as many tables as possible were squeezed in. Staff asked for tips at the end, which gave a bit of a tourist-trap vibe. （避雷）

Stopped by after hearing great things from the locals, and it didn't disappoint. The food is the definition of 'comfy'—really tasty and hits the spot if you’re looking for authentic local flavors. Service was fine, though the tables are a bit on the smaller side, so it can feel a little tight if you’re ordering a few dishes. Overall, a solid spot for a genuine meal!

The place is very nice, and the guy who served us was super friendly and attentive. He even spoke some Spanish. They have a menu in both Spanish and English. The dishes we ate were delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended for trying traditional food and having several options.

We walked off the street and were seated quickly. There were mainly locals here. The food and drinks were fabulous but it was the staff that made it memorable.

We stopped by for lunch and everything was fantastic. We ordered the Sonneveld ribs, traditional Dutch stamppot with sausages, bitterballen (a type of pasta), and everything was delicious. The cheesecake and apple pie were also excellent. The service was top-notch.

Had the spareribs and they are good, but not the best in Amsterdam. They lost their texture they were too soft. The salade that accompanied the ribs on the plate died on the way to the table. The atmosphere is fantastic and the service was good. Nice place to visit with your friends

Great place, it's literally packed with tables, so it's definitely pleasantly busy. Charging €7 for a portion of fries with mayo, which you have to order separately if you order spare ribs, for example, is a bit stingy in my opinion. They are, however, quick with the drinks.

Celebrated a birthday here with 25 others. From Haarlem, you can either take the train and walk 2km, or drive and park in front for 8 euros per hour. Since there were four of us, we opted for the car. Upon arrival, the café was already quite full, and 27 of us joined them. You end up being really crammed together. The concept is eating, drinking, and singing along to popular Amsterdam music. The whole thing takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. Meanwhile, guests come and go, and the hostess takes the lead in starting singalongs. It's fun with a group, but some come in as a couple, and then I miss the fun. The café walls are covered with photos of the late Wim Sonneveld. All in all, we had a pleasant afternoon, partly thanks to the company. And you just have to accept the absurd parking policy.

We had a traditional roast pork ribs, and sausage. It was very delicious.. even their house red wine was tasty a reasonable prize, but do recommend booking in advance.

We loved the food so much that we went back two nights in a row! If you want to experience the best of Dutch cuisine, you shouldn't miss this place. It's also located in a lively and charming neighborhood, nothing like the shabbiness of Amsterdam's city center. One night we had dinner on the terrace, overlooking a canal: it was delightful, even though we were a bit cramped! Simple but beautifully prepared and delicious dishes: homemade tomato soup, prawn croquettes (sublime!), a quarter of a roast chicken with fries, and a very typical Amsterdam dish: a large meatball with mashed potatoes and carrots. I also ordered a glass of Italian red wine, which was truly excellent. All for a very reasonable price (given Amsterdam's price levels). The service from the head waiter (owner), by the way, was outstanding: friendly, communicative, efficient, and professional. The other night, we ate inside, and although it's very authentic, it was too noisy, and besides, the service from the manager that day wasn't comparable to that of the owner. In any case, we ordered the prawn croquettes, the tomato soup, and the giant meatball again, and this time, instead of chicken, we had mashed potatoes with Dutch sausage: the same quality and enjoyment. The owner is beyond unpleasant! She makes fun of customers with her friends, lets them cut in front of other customers, and then has the nerve to yell at us when we enter the restaurant because we're not waiting outside. Shameful behavior for a business owner, she gets a zero!

The meal is superb. Take the ribs, and you won't be disappointed. The only problem is that the place is pretty loud. And that you won't get a table if not reserved.

Many Chinese recommend this restaurant in our social app, obviously it is so popular because it is so crowded during dinner time , we didn’t make reservations, arriving in 5pm, have about 50 minutes to finish out meal . The ribs are nice , another recommendation about the meshed potatoes is mediocre. And FIY , if you not ordering any drinks, water are not for free as well . It is about 7€ per bottle .

We had the spareribs, stamppot with meatball and bitterballen. I would highly recommend the spareribs and stamppot. The meat is falling off the bones and the sauce is good with extra dipping sauces. The stamppot with a big meatball is proper comfort food. The bitterball was not to my taste

A typical Dutch restaurant with traditional food and local staff. The festive atmosphere envelops you as soon as you walk in. Then the staff makes you feel right at home. And the food is the perfect finishing touch. We ordered the stew, the ribs, and two typical appetizers. Spectacular! Homemade and delicious food. I highly recommend it.

We arrived around 6:30 PM and found the restaurant completely full. It was noisy, and since we hadn't made a reservation, we ate outside. Luckily, there was one table left. We had a typical dish, Stampot (meatballs and vegetable puree), which was very good. Definitely make a reservation.

This is a very special restaurant with very vintage/antique decor inside. The restaurant has delicious food, good service, and an even better atmosphere! I like it!

We stumbled upon this place by chance while strolling through the Jordaan district for a cup of coffee and a treat. Everything about it exudes Wim Sonneveld. Every inch of wall space is covered with photos, posters, and other items about Sonneveld, as well as Amsterdam. The woman serving us, after we asked, told us about the cafe's origins. It was a surprising and enjoyable break during our walk.

I waited at the table for almost half an hour, and no one attended to me. The place has a nice location, but the service is clearly very poor. In the end, I had to leave without being able to place any order. It was a very bad experience.

We weren't allowed inside to get a drink. We were allowed to sit on the terrace in the cold.

The typical dish was very tasty, and we heard other customers praising the food. The negative point is that they didn't want to serve me tap water because I was a tourist, and I did see local people being served it without any problem.

Reservations are recommended. Good food, lots of Japanese diners because the restaurant has a good reputation. Friendly service.

We popped in here spontaneously for a drink during a brief rain shower. Very cozy, quaint. Friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Since we only had a few drinks, we can't comment on the food.

The canal-side location is perfect, and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend it as a fantastic way to sample traditional local dishes.

A group of 40 men was shouting/singing so loudly that it was impossible to have a conversation during the meal. I'm not usually sensitive about that sort of thing, but in this case, I was really glad to finally leave the place, especially since everything took so long. The food itself was okay, but then it didn't taste good anymore... (Plus, it's not suitable for vegetarians, and the toilets are terrible.)

The food was ok but the attitude was terrible. The boss had a terrible service attitude from beginning to end and no respect for the guests (for example, he didn't let others speak when ordering). He was discriminatory against different regions and had a bad tone. In the end, he even forced a tip. I was deceived by Xiaohongshu and will not come again.

A must-try in Amsterdam for authentic Dutch food. We went twice because it was our favorite spot there. The service was very friendly. The menu is also available in Spanish. I recommend trying the bitterballen, which are like our croquettes, but with a meat filling. You should also order the stamppot, a mashed potato and vegetable dish (other combinations are available), served with a sausage or meatball.
