had such a wonderful experience thanks to Andrea! From the moment I walked in. Andrea greeted me with a warm smile and a genuinely friendly approach that made me feel welcome right away. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and Andrea went out of the way to ensure everything was perfect. I ordered four Paulaners. My first beer after the Zevenheuvelenloop (Seven Hills Run). After paying over €35, I was told it was all gone. It turned out they weren't interested in tapping because it was so busy. So, I got four regular-sized beers for the same price. Then I saw the Paulaners flying off the counter.

We had to wait half an hour for someone to take our order, then ordered two burgers with cheese and received them without. The burger itself was also not good and tasteless. A waste of money and time. The terrace is nice, though.

Terrible service. You sit on the terrace and have to pay immediately. Waited 45 minutes for a drink... never go here.

Sunday afternoon, I sat on the patio for over an hour and wasn't even looked at or had my order taken! Ridiculous.

I’m putting 5 stars because the services deserves it, I wanna mention there’s a waiter, really polite person, professional and with the kindest treatment, he has black hair and glasses, really glad when he approached us!

What a crappy place, bad service, no experience

Sher's performance was fantastic, but the service was truly awful. They don't greet you, don't even notice you, and have no restaurant knowledge. Definitely not recommended. So, Sher, we'll be back next time we're in a more atmospheric cafe. We'd happily skip Cafe van Buren.

After eating out, we wanted to order a nice Irish coffee on the terrace of Café Van Buren. Unfortunately, it didn't happen because after waiting 20 minutes, there still hadn't been anyone, even though there were only four occupied tables! They were busy, unfortunately, so the service was poor in such a beautiful location! So we left! Not recommended!

Incredibly expensive, unpleasant atmosphere, and unprofessional staff. We ordered some drinks, but only half were served. The rest arrived after numerous requests. Some drinks were also served incorrectly. Avoid at all costs.

Yes, the Mac terrace of Nijmegen, having a drink here with friends is always enjoyable, nice employees, often only English speaking, but that is of course not a problem, the food they serve is the standard bar food and snacks, so don't expect too much.

Very very unprofessional and irresponsible. Wanted to enter the club with my friends(I'm an international student) after 12.45 am at Bar 2. The guy at the front LITERALLY denied to let me enter. He asked for my ID(That's understandable). But I said I had a government approved digital ID with me and I even gave the consent that he could be able to use the id number to verify my identity. He just said, "Sorry sir, I cannot do that." Brother! You could've asked your supervisor or above. He seemed to ask about this matter to her colleague. THAT IS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL and unacceptable. As an international student, I'm very disappointed! Very very "worst" behavior.

At first glance, this place seems nice. But nothing could be further from the truth. We had to wait over an hour for our drinks, and when we asked the staff if something could be done about it, they just walked away. If there's one place you shouldn't sit on a terrace, it's Cafe Van Buren. If I could give less than one star, I would, because the service is REALLY awful.

Worst restaurant I've ever been to. The service was terrible; we waited an hour for drinks for 11 people. If a mistake is made, it takes another hour to fix it. If you try to reach the waitstaff, they immediately turn away, and everything is explained away, even though it's a bit busy. If a restaurant can't handle it, they shouldn't let so many people in or handle it differently. If I could give less than one star, I would.

What a terrible place! Nine people waited over 40 minutes for 7 drinks... 60 minutes for the last 2 drinks. They couldn't even accept the house round. This place doesn't seem to understand the game, and neither do the staff. They don't even care when you tell them it's been taking ages. A terrible place!

Long wait for something to drink

Always a treat after the 4-day march. Only on Friday, all the standing tables and chairs were removed. I didn't like that at all.

Delicious food! Drinks took a bit long to arrive, but overall very satisfied! The staff were also friendly. Just be aware that you have to order using the QR code on the table. You can also ask the staff, but they don't spend much time on the terrace, especially when it's quieter.

What a terribly arrogant and unfriendly service staff is walking around here! They walk right past you and when you call them they stare at you arrogantly and everything seems too difficult and too much to ask! We got up and sat down on a terrace a little further away where the service was friendly and positive. Van Buren is a real mess!

Food and drinks are fine. Location is also good. The problem lies with the service. It is partly Dutch, partly foreign students who speak English. Nothing wrong with that, but the service does take a long time. We had to wait quite a long time for drinks (20 - 25 min), while elsewhere (in places of comparable size) that would be arranged within 5 minutes.

Ordered two coffees and a toasted sandwich via the QR code on the table, because no one came by. Waited 20 minutes for the coffee, the toasted sandwich only arrived after 45 minutes. The toasted sandwich was cold and the sauce had already discoloured, I think it had been on the bar for a while. There were only a few tables occupied, so it wasn't busy. The staff mainly speaks English, which is fine, but I don't think they can maintain the standard of the Dutch catering industry.

Hamburger on but there was more flavor in the tomato and pickle than in the meat. Only English speaking staff at the table and came regularly to the table with orders for other tables.

Tomato soup was not that good, salmon is recommended and the cheesecake too! Service took a long time.

Waited 15 minutes for a lady with long black hair who walked past 5 times without even looking at her. When we asked to order something, we received a condescending nod and she walked away again, but we walked away too! If I had someone like that I would hire them immediately! What a terrible person that is and afterwards we were VERY FRIENDLY HELPED on another terrace, as it should be, with a big tip of course!

My partner and I had recently decided to have an alcoholic drink at this drinking establishment. When we had already taken a seat on the terrace of this restaurant, we were informed in a rather rude manner that we were not welcome at this time of the day. This announcement is made in a way that shows such rudeness that it is a pity. We are aggrieved by this. The staff member in question should be admonished for this due to excessive rudeness. This complaint is therefore well-founded. Undersigned , My partner and myself.

Super short veal Rios and the veal ripeye were also very tasty. Served on warm plates with a reasonable waiting time. We sat outside under the heaters and were able to really enjoy the spring there. Price performance fits well.

Food was okay. Service mega mega mega bad! Waiting for an hour or two for toasted sandwiches with the kids. Getting the ketchup we ordered and paid for was even complicated Very unfortunate because the food was otherwise okay.

Great place to eat and drink if a little dark inside but there's a large area outside to sit in good weather, me and a friend had lunch there and it was very nice with very friendly service too.

Lunch here was delicious. Downside, you can only pay by card, while cash is also legal tender. Because of this we won't be coming back.

Eerst was de pita niet warm, werd snel opgewarmd, maar het was jammer genoeg niet lekker. Vlees had geen smaak en de rest was vooral zurig. Tosti was wel lekker.

We went to dinner with several people and the food was brought cold. And we had the hamburger and the ribeye and they were very dry. 1 of us was vegetarian and the food for that person was only brought 20 minutes later. Furthermore, the people were friendly, but often did not understand what you meant.

Ordered our drink because we wanted a good evening but instead we waited 35 MINUTS for 2 drinks then we went inside to ask what happened but they told us that they will see what happenend but then 10 minuts later they came with our drinks so in total we almost waited 40 minuts , so if u want a good night and only want 2 drinks but want to wait long!! Super lekker, maar kregen sommige cocktails niet binnen. Personeel beweerde dat wij niet hadden besteld. Wij hadden echt betaald en bewijs getoond.

We had lunch and dinner here with a large group. Hardly any staff who understand Dutch. Almost all the food was cold. Dishes were served incomplete.

Everything is the same...the whole street seems to belong to the same owner: listless and inspiring...the creeping death of every old town.

Sitting at a table with 6 people, we are approached unfriendly by the MANAGER (English speaking) or the boss or neighbors asking if we want to sit apart because the lady had to walk around differently. We were asked to leave or sit on the other side at a high table. Then she threatened to call the police! Really terrible tent and the last time we and the rest will come here. After I posted this review, a photo was also taken of us. After I saw this she didn't want to open the phone either, she first walked behind after which she probably deleted the photo and then only showed her gallery at the request of her manager!! Name was not given either, and communicating becomes quite difficult with the neighbors, because there is no Dutch person you can speak to there

Day in Nijmegen thought I would have a nice Latte Macchiato with a cheesecake. Nastier coffee and the tip of the pastry missing. When I said something about it, they don't speak Dutch. But as I understood the machine was broken. There were two of us. Day €17 euros

Met de nijmeegse vierdaagse wat gedronken prima band drankjes redelijk prijzig maar waar niet alleen waarom voor toilet gebruik als klant 1 euro afgerekend MOET worden ga ik niet begrijpen zeker niet als deze toilet een oude vieze bende is

During the 4-day event, the outdoor bar employees jump over their bar, causing glasses/cups on tables around the bar to jump up and fall over. Even our nachos were in the fallen beer and wine. The serving doesn't say anything, sometimes foreign ones who can't do anything else. It is that band that is very good that we stayed. Even the manager with dark curls was not interested in this. There are plenty of other visitors. Or we could go and stop the whining. I read that the 3 cafes next to each other from the same owner are almost bankrupt. I get it!

Zomerfeesten Nijmegen: 1e drankje, 2e drankje zelfde prijs... uuuh hoe dan. Slecht hoor zelfde prijs vragen voor veel minder. Niet netjes mensen... Dit kun je zo niet verkopen hè

De slechtste cocktail van mijn leven. Zuiver water en veel ijs is oplichterij!!! Ik vroeg hen om het te veranderen en de service was verschrikkelijk! De nieuwe cocktail was nog erger!

Meer dan een uur gewacht op mijn drankje. Ik heb met meerdere medewerkers gepraat en kreeg steeds hetzelfde antwoord. Ze zeiden dat het drankje zo zou komen. Echter duurde dit uiteindelijk meer dan een uur voordat het drankje uiteindelijk werd geserveerd!

Ordered 2 Hertog Jan vases via the QR code and paid immediately. Still nothing to see after 20 minutes. Staff is not alert and doesn't spare us a glance.

Food took almost an hour, it almost got cold. A burger with some fries is by far not worth 18.50 euros. Service slow and without any passion. Toilet inside old; the extractor full of mold. In short, you can have a drink. But absolutely no more than that.

There were people who had ordered food and simply walked away because they apparently had to wait even longer. Not recommended!

A nice place, but all red lamps shining straight into our eyes blinded us coming in from a bright daylight. When our eyes got used to the dark we saw very much nice; a beautiful bar, interior and classic lamps hanging high. But we wonder why this beauty was turned into a cheap red light district lookalike...

The interior of Café van Buuren is nice. This café is mainly aimed at a younger target group. I felt quite "old" at 32 ;)

Delicious meal here, the staff was quickly at my table, the sandwich with beets and candied walnuts was delicious and the fries were crumbly and good, so I'm quite satisfied, so in this tent the patio heating could have been a bit warmer.

Often fun parties in club Freija, but sometimes there are exclusive parties for which you have to pay. This is only told when payment has already been made for the wardrobe, forcing you to pay for an event. If a refund is requested for not reporting a party, we will not receive anything back. A shame for this nice place.

You have to wait a long time for a waitress to finally appear, even if the place is completely empty. The cheesecake tasted like garlic. When I complained, the staff tried to intimidate me.

Overdag wat gegeten wat lekker was. Van Buren zal in de avond als kroeg wel gezellig zijn. Overdag ziet het er kaal en ongezellig uit.

Duur. Veel lawaai van oefenruimte. Geen Nederlands bediening.

Apart diner; (koude) steak tartaar met side dish frites. Heerlijk bier Karmeliet erbij. Was lekker, maar hadden een warme maaltijd in gedachten.

Koude Bitterballen, zelfs terug gestuurd en kregen we ze in iedergeval niet meer helemaal koud terug, maar lauw.

Ontzettend gezellig café, bedankt Robin voor de mooie avond!

Vriendelijk personeel. Sprak half engels/nederlands maar was voor ons geen enkel probleem! Voorderest lekker gegeten.

Das Cafe van Buren ist wunderbar. Wir haben dort gegessen nach dem wor eine 6 stündige zugreise hinter uns hatten. Das essen war frisch, die getränke kalt, und unter den riesigen schirmen konnten wir dem regen zuschauen ohne nass zu werden ♥️ gleichzeitig wurden heizstrahler angeschaltet, was das draußen sitzen nochmal angenehmer machte 👍 alles in allem empfehlenswert.👍💪☺️

Duurt even voor het personeel (4 man/vrouw) in de gaten heeft dat er 2 gasten aan een tafel zijn gaan zitten. Menukaart zonder prijzen? En wat mij betreft mag er wat meer licht aan!

Nou had lekker een drankje besteld bij de bar er langs, geen slok van kunnen nemen weg gehaald voor dat ik de kans had. Ben rustig 18 en had id echt wel willen laten zien maar werd gewoon weg gehaald en ze wouden er niks van weten. Meneer zei dat is pech en nam het mee wou mijn id niet zien maar mijn drank wel mee nemen. Daar gaat me hard verdiende geld.

Het eten geen idee want ik heb alleen wat gedronken. Personeel zeer vriendelijk en sfeer was gewoon. €6,50 voor een droge wittewijn vind ik echt schandalig!

War ok. Wenn man bar bezahlt, dann muss man das Geld passend haben. Es gibt kein Wechselgeld.

Enthousiaste bediening. Leuke aanbiedingen. Bv de aanbiedingen van uit het groene ei. Goed terras. Wel drukke straat.
