I left without ordering due to extremely rude treatment: the gentleman behind the counter felt the need (on purpose) to give others priority, even though it was clear I had been waiting a long time to order.

My cooking heart cries. Besides the absurdly high prices, the quality is really bad.

Disgusting! Cold sandwich, undercooked meat, two drinks for 6 euros! The staff were as cold as the sandwiches... Hygiene wasn't in their vocabulary... no handwashing, using their phones in the kitchen, and serving after payment without washing their hands...

Whatever you do here, don't get a sandwich. They recommend a generously filled roll, but what you get is a pathetic bun. I've added the photos so you can see the difference between expectations and reality. That bald guy behind the counter has nothing to do, and those eggs are literally just sitting there, and yet he still dares to charge me €4.50 for them. At least give me a warning that it's not at all what you advertise. Worthless!

Cafeteria De Prins, the King of Amsterdam cafeterias. No salt on the fries? Absolutely! Fantastic frikandel special and fries with peace of mind.

The guy behind the counter — who was already giving off serious bad attitude vibes — asks me, “Mayonnaise?” I just shrugged and said, “Sure,” assuming it was included or, at worst, a minor extra. What he didn’t say was that it would bump the price up to €4.50. When I questioned the bill, I was met with rudeness and aggression. Instead of calmly explaining, the staff got defensive and started acting like I was the problem. No apology, no clarification — just a hostile tone and zero professionalism. It felt like they were itching for a confrontation, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is how they regularly treat people. It’s not just about the €1.20 — it’s the principle. You can’t offer something without mentioning a surcharge and then get angry when the customer questions it. That’s pure scam behavior. The atmosphere was tense, the staff were confrontational, and the whole place radiated a vibe of “we don’t care about our customers.” It honestly felt like they wanted to pick a fight over a condiment. Absolutely disgraceful. Rude, aggressive, and dishonest — that’s this place in a nutshell. Spend your money literally anywhere else.

Quiet place to stop for lunch during a walk in Amsterdam. Wide choice of dishes all very good and full of flavor. Appreciated is the fact that they have dedicated several choices also to children. Friendly staff and punctual service. The outdoor seats are few, but still tidy and comfortable for a relaxing stop

I have never written a review about a restaurant in my life, but I couldn't resist this one. This is the worst service and experience I have ever had, the best man behind the counter was on his phone and showed zero interest in me. Didn't greet me when I entered and left. I sat outside and had to pick up the food myself while it had been ready for a while with the man next to the food on his phone. I was the only one in the store. As the icing on the cake, as if it couldn't get any worse, the man started cutting his nails behind the counter. I didn't eat the sandwich and threw it away. That's why I will never come back to this store. Shame

I think it's the worst I've ever tried. The guy who served us was super rude with foreigners and had problems with everything. I ordered a latte and they gave me a small glass with approximately 60 ml to drink. Bad taste of the coffee and on top of that, very expensive, 2.8 euros. For me, as I am Spanish, it seems incredibly excessive. The restaurant floor is very slippery. I don't recommend it

Delicious Mexican food in the heart of Amsterdam. The Mexicano and the satay sauce were exactly what I'm used to in Guadalajara. Milkshakes are also great!! 👌🏻 🥰

We were looking for a chip shop for a quick bite to eat before we went home. We are pleasantly surprised with De Prins as an eatery. Inside it is very clean and tidy, there is a nice atmosphere. And affordable for a location on Leidseplein.

1.10 euros for sauce is really on the high side

A rude man, we order three coffees and he tells us that we can't have it inside because they are busy (when in the entire room, only 3 tables are occupied). The bathroom was out of order. Very rude and expensive. Also, I don't think it passes hygiene standards, they touch everything with their hands and it's pretty shabby in general.

Nice fries and lots of other fastfood. We had a table, so we had a nice experience. Rather pricy, though. But you kind of expect that since it’s Amsterdam city centre after all.

In mijn herinnering een stuk beter, ik was teleurstelgesteld. Patat was duidelijk gebakken in oud vet. Prijzen ook veel te hoog, zeker voor wat het is. Jammer!

Grandioos lekker frikandelletje speciaal gegeten met twee maten. Wel jammer dat m’n delletje niet aan de tafel geserveerd werd. Softijs ook erg aan te bevelen, incl. gratis discodip!

Snacks nog net zo lekker als altijd! Wel een stuk duurder geworden (zoals eigenlijk overal) en personeel is niet altijd even vriendelijk.

The moment your fries are being served, you know that you have some very good fries; just by the looks of it. This is exactly what we mean when we talk about golden brown fries. They look amazing. And indeed, hot, crunchy, fluffy and delicious fries which will make you smile. The fries are not as thick as the Belgian fries, but not as thin as the Mc Donalds French fries. Somewhere in between I would say. Great fries in a very nice, clean and big restaurant. I will he back for more.

It is a small independent fast food restaurant and we had a burger, fries and a Frikaandel. The food was very good and we enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. It was our lunch stopover coming from the museums around Rijksmuseum and walking to the city centre.

als juli 12 uur open gaan wees dan optijd open en kom niet om 12:15 aan lopen en dan pas alles open maken en dan op een botte manier ons behendelen dat juli dicht zijn en dar het nog een half uur duur. 🤔 waarom zijn juli dan 12 uur open als juli pas laat komen

Kwaliteit is hard achteruit gegaan. Oude patat aanbieden voor de hoofdprijs, inclusief 2 drankjes, 14 euro !!! Voor die prijs verwacht ik wel op zijn minst goede patat, de patat die ik en mijn vriendin kregen kan ik niet eens matig noemen maar gewoon reteslecht. Schandalig voor die prijs.

I was here in Amsterdam for only 3 days and ate here several times due to its great location, food, staff, and atmosphere. They have particularly awesome fries, and their prices and portions are great for Amsterdam. This place is also great if you wanna get away from overly crowded, packed places.

Donderdagavond bijna sluitingstijd en toch nog een heerlijke croquet. Zeer goede bediening van erg aardige man.

Sono andato con un amico a fare colazione in questo posto , wuauuu è stato epico , sia la colazione inglese che il pancake erano davvero davvero buoni, anche la cioccolata calda con crema. Il posto era tranquillo e in zona centrale , ho potuto pagare con la carta senza alcun problema.
