De Piraat in Oostelijk Havengebied

Few things smell as promising as a freshly baked spring roll… at least, if it's been fried in clean oil. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. As soon as the spring roll was served, it was immediately noticeable: a dark, almost burnt crust. The smell? Not the fresh aroma of fried dough, but a stale reek of oil that had clearly seen far too many snacks.

What a filthy place. You can fry better in the last 15w40 than in this crude fuel oil. I think the fat is as old as the fryer itself. The fries taste like spring rolls, and the spring rolls taste like fries. Way too expensive and inedible. So if you eat here, I hope you have a good immune system. Best, Koen

Too expensive, prices don’t match the board. When asked about it (had got repeat 3 times), finally got some money back. But still overpriced

One of the worst snackbars to get food. Food quality is very low. Ordered a medium RAS patat, chicken sate and coconut juice. Chicken sate had no flavor and was still cold/frozen. Fries “oorlog” was served with the wrong sauces. But fast and friendly service. Three simple items were 20€, which is too much for a snackbar.

Raspatat is really very bad. 10,- for a big portion of misery. Please go somewhere else.

The couple running this place are wonderful. Lady running the counter puts up with my lack of Dutch, but cheers me on whenever I try - and fail to not use English. Try all the snack foods, but the Bami Schiff, friend noodle pouches, are my current favorite! And the high price tag items? Those will feed you 2-3 meals. Very large portions.

I ordered large fries, and then got small ones and I paid €4.75. Worthless tent

Don't order anything here that doesn't go into the fryer. Fries were fine, but the rest smelled anything but fresh. A friend of mine ate and eventually almost passed out giggling, had a bite in between that was so disgusting. Not recommended.

Too bad they don't also have pizza, then they really had everything! You can go here for your fries & snacks, kapsalon, roti, Chinese or Indonesian.

Never had anything so disgusting, noodles smell and taste like dead dog. Foe yong hai very watery. Definitely not recommended

Helemaal prima. Veel keuze, snel klaar, zonder fouten en goed te eten. Het is geen frietjuwelier en voor gezond of verantwoord moet je ook elders zijn (al zijn er vega-opties), maar gewoon best lekker voor een keer.

De Piraat is a Dutch snackbar where you buy fries, kroketten, frikandellen, burgers, that kind of stuff. All deep fried. And here there's a little Asian twist to it, because of the owners. They also serve fried banana for instance. People are friendly. But the quality of the snacks is so so. Fries and snacks straight from the factory. Not very inspirational. Might you want to snack here, try their homemade Indonesian snacks...
