We were looking for an italien restaurant and we were not disappointed ! I had a brusheta and my boyfriend ate a pizza. The crust was good and the dishes tasted delicious. It was not crowded so we had a great time ! Thanks for the food.

Very disappointed. I came to eat on the evening of July 25th, and the waiter stepped on my shoes three times… Every time we asked for information, we felt like we were exasperating the staff. I do not recommend this place. And the price is €7.50 for water! We asked to top up our phone with a charger in front of us, but the answer was no, and we had to pay extra for the syrup in the cocktail, which barely had any…

The pizzas were delicious. The dough was thin in the middle and a little thicker on the outside. The place was very nice and the service was very, very nice!! Congratulations!!

Perfect. We wanted to eat very quickly but something decent, and that's exactly what we got. The waitress was also friendly, and there was a sweet ginger cat napping there 😻

We were warmly welcomed here late in the evening by the most lovely hostess Sadia (😉) when most other places were closing. We had a well-made medium rare steak with a delicious mushroom sauce and a savory truffle spaghetti with Parmesan cheese. The very friendly staff and cozy setting kept the mood nice and warm throughout. Altogether it was a very pleasant experience and I'll definitely be returning here sometime.

Absolutely beautiful authentic food in the place. A sleeping ginger cat under the bar, and a lovely hostess. Tucked down an alley and hidden, but an absolute must visit.

I went here for dinner with my boyfriend during an outing in Amsterdam. It wasn't crowded and was very cozy. The service was also very friendly and fast! Although the music was sometimes a bit loud, there was also a cat roaming around the restaurant that really improved the atmosphere :) The food was ready quickly, not very expensive, simple, and tasty. Definitely recommended!

A very nice and idyllic restaurant. The owners seem to be real Italians. The food was absolutely delicious. The pizza (El Mare) was perfect, the crust wasn't too hard or dry, and it had plenty of toppings. The chicken was tender and delicious. Unfortunately, there was no side dish with the chicken; it costs extra. Definitely recommended!

Food was decent; definitely mass produced frozen/ reheated but honestly fine. Nothing rememberable but not bad. Cute little hole in the wall restaurant, convenient location. Decided against buying more drinks and desserts as they charge for water though.

A lovely little restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. The staff is very friendly and attentive, especially towards children! The prices are absolutely fair, and you absolutely must try the pizza and pasta – it's delicious! We left completely satisfied with our meal of seven people and one small child. Thank you!

We decided to try this place as the inside seemed busy and we saw the restaurant had a high rating. After ordering the margarita pizza and lasagna we soon realised this place wasn’t what we expected. The service was terrible to say the least. The food took over 45 minutes to arrive which we didn’t mind as we thought it was a good thing as the food was being prepared properly. We got our food, tasted awful but maybe that was just to personal preference HOWEVER after seeing the disappointment on our faces , the staff were so unprofessional and rude, they didn’t ask once if everything was okay, after multiple attempts to get their attention. We asked for the bill shortly after, we couldn’t finish our food as it wasn’t good and whilst I requested to speak to a manager the waiter lied and claimed he wasn’t available , attempted multiple times to continue lying until I refused to pay my bill until I got an explanation to why the service was so poor and the food wasn’t up to standard. What makes it even worse is that I turned around and saw the 2 waiters both male talking to each other about the issue we raised and started laughing at us behind the bar. The manger ended up coming into the restaurant from another restaurant to deal with our complaint. He apologised and offered to give us everything for half price , thank you Charlie (the owner) for being understanding and respectful towards us, definitely reconsider the staff you hire as they offer terrible service , continuous lies and extremely rude and disrespectful!

Excellent in every way. On a street lined with eating establishments (in a unfamiliar area) picking one to visit is much like roulette. Fortunately we pick a great place. Not overly large but ideally sized. Service was friendly, prompt and excellent. Food was spot on. Drinks average price for the area.

If you enjoy eating a world record-breaking amount of food, go for it! Here, the waiter appears 120 seconds after you arrive to take your order, no doubt to make sure you don't read the prices too carefully. I tried the Gorgonzola pizza: a crust so thin it's practically transparent, and just the right amount of salt to keep you going all winter without ice. €15 to feel squeezed like a lemon in a place as noisy as a train station is a... unique experience. We know it's Amsterdam, but even the canal next door is more inviting.

The owner’s cat was freely roaming the restaurant, climbing on chairs and repeatedly coming to our table, which made us very uncomfortable. When we politely asked the owner to keep the cat away, our concern was brushed off with a dismissive comment that “cats are everywhere,” which was not true. A waitress was also rude and told us “we cannot be looking at the cat all the time,” instead of addressing the situation. At the point we decided to leave, the food had not yet arrived—only drinks. Even after clearly explaining that we could not stay as they cannot keep the cat awa, we were told we had to pay for the food because the order was already sent to the kitchen. They packed the food to go and charged us for it, removing the drink charge only after we questioned it. Since the weather was freezing, we had no choice but to leave with the packed food. We did not feel welcomed or respected. The staff showed no interest in customer comfort and seemed focused only on payment. Very rude and dissappointing. I do not recommend this restaurant especially for the tourists. Here is my response to the restaurant’s reply: Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify a few important points. If the restaurant’s concern is truly about avoiding food waste, that principle should be clearly communicated and applied consistently. Customers are not forced to finish leftovers on their plates, nor are they questioned for leaving food behind. In this situation, however, the focus appeared to be solely on ensuring payment, rather than addressing why customers felt compelled to leave in the first place. We did not walk out immediately. We tried to accommodate the situation multiple times—first encounter of the cat was when we were seated upstairs, then when we raised the concern, waitress said the cat will go back up to their house and won’t come down anymore but it again came back. So the second time, she suggested that we sit downstairs at the staff’s suggestion. Third time, even after changing tables, the cat continued to approach our table. When we again confronted her that, her response was “I can’t watch where it goes all the time”. Only after these repeated instances did we decide we could not continue dining. Later, when we were about to leave, another waiter suggested that he will make sure to keep the cat upstairs this time but we already lost trust by now and knew we couldn’t dine in peace. A simple sign informing guests about the presence of a cat would help future customers make an informed choice and would ultimately benefit both guests and the business. Cozy Italian restaurant centrally located full of charm and great food. I'm usually sceptical about dining in busy tourist areas knowing that you can find more authenticity only a few minutes off the beaten track. However, this cute little restaurant did not disappoint oozing Italian atmosphere and tasty dishes within 10 mins walk from Centraal Station. Highly recommended!

Lovely spot, we had breakfast here all three mornings we spent in Amsterdam. Came for the great food, stayed for Oscar the cat manager. Can’t remember the name of the lady behind the bar but she gave an outstanding service and was lovely.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. The female staff member was absolutely lovely. Food was good, not the best Italian i've ever had but does the job. The pizza is a little oily but if that's what you like then definitely eat here. Bruschetta was DELICIOUS.

Great place to have a romantic lunch or dinner! We had a four cheese pizza which was big enough to share between two people. I had an ice coffee and my husband the cuba libre, they were both really good. The affogato is a must try also. Will definitely recommend this place, really cozy vibe inside.

I really wanted Italian food but no one could make a good recommendation. We decided to check this one out since it was nearby and we were getting hungry. It turned out to be a great decision. The food was delicious and authentic, and the service was great. We all left there feeling very satisfied.

Lovely staff, very welcoming and whilst eating there the staff saw someone leave there phone and one of them went to quickly find the couple that left it! The food was really good. I got the pasta and my bf got the pizza we were very happy with the food and had a lovely time.

Normally always deliver for free to the neighbours, today they won't do that. We don't know what's wrong, we gave you always tip during delivering pizza to us as neighbours. So now you don't have tip, and we don't have pizza, because we cancelled the order.
