A wonderful, atmospheric establishment.

Food is exceptional. Service is inconsistent.. The male waiters are the dependable ones as the beautiful girls who greet and seat you have no role in the service. I was seated by a beautiful lovely girl who disappeared then I ordered through a male waiter.. I wanted to order another drink through one of the girls, but again the male waiter is the one who got me the drink when I asked again.

The food was wonderful, everything we ordered was good, the meats were cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were amazing! I highly recommend it!

Not bad, but disgusting! The hamburger was dry-fried and still had a truly awful bun! And the spareribs were so disgusting, I think they bought them pre-cooked from the freezer and then reheated them! It's truly remarkable how this place has multiple locations! I would advise everyone against eating here. It's the worst restaurant in Amsterdam, if you ask me!

We had Modest steak with sweet potatoes and it was a heaven in mouth . Exactly Medium rare! Oh my god perfect And the pickled onion perfect detail Recommend this place I am giving 20 from 10 😆

The food was fantastic, thanks to chef Rico and Marco! TK and Chris were the stars in the kitchen! The steaks were perfectly grilled just as we ordered (medium rare). The service was incredible! Mischa showed genuine interest in our group and our well-being. Sanne takes her job very seriously and was sweet and caring. Maas had everything under control during this lively, busy evening. Jacky's body shots were amazing! (Just kidding). They provided truly excellent service. The cocktails, especially the Esma cocktails made by Osei and Dylan, were the best we've ever had! Conclusion: highly recommended!

There are several Canibale Royale locations around Amsterdam. But I think this one has an edge of the others. Not because of the food, that is always very good, but for the staff. Osei, our server, was really nice! Very professional and welcoming. Although reservation are highly recommended and probably mandatory on weekends, we didn't have a reservation but Osei got us a table for 4. That was very much appreciated! The food was amazing and seved quickly and efficiently! Osei introduced us to the other staff members that were working. Dylan, Quint and Pris. All of them outgoing and fun! Just a great night all around. The only thing better than a great meal is a great meal with a fun and efficient staff! I HIGHLY recommend Cannibale Royale because the food is consistently very good. I recommend the one on Ruysdael because a fun and easy going staff made it an enjoyable night and extra special! Thank you, Osei, Quint and Pris!

As always, a perfect night here. I love a classic spot in Ams, and of course Cannibale is always full, but Jacky was the best waitress ever (and smiley 🥰) — she went above and beyond to get us a table. Thank you! I loved my “Modeste” meat 😋

We had a great dinner here with Jacky as the hostess that sat us down on a Friday night without a reservation which was amazing for Amsterdam standards. Great food, the steaks here are amazing and you have to try the Mac and cheese. 10/10 recommendation

I love this restaurant, the food is great and staff is always extremely friendly and helpful. We went there for dinner with a friend, I (most) often have their pork ribs and find them to be both delicious and generous quantity wise. Yesterday, I thought the ribs portion to be smaller than usual and I just asked Jacky about if these had changed recently. Just 5 minutes later one waiter arrives and surprises me with an extra portion of pork ribs. This surprised me and I was very happy. Thank you for an excellent sense of service!

Highly recommended! The beef chop was very good, and with the extra bone marrow it was simply fantastic. I don't drink alcohol and tried the non-alcoholic house beer. It was typically fruity, typical Dutch, and also good. Reservations required.

Big shout out to the Cannibale Royale staff! UberEats made me wait more than an hour for the order and when it was ready they was no rider to pick it up so they canceled it. When I called Cannibale Royale to ask if i could pick it up they said yes. When i arrived they were super nice and apologetic even though it wasn’t their fault. After Uber ruined my evening, the staff at Cannibale Royale made it better in an instant! The service was so good and they definitely deserve some praise.

We now come to this place every time we visit Amsterdam and the experience is always top notch! The meat is delicious and the service is friendly and attentive, it you’re looking for a good dinner at the right price this is the place! Squeezed us in with a smile despite it being very busy, and fed us fantastic food. Strangely, the standout from a place that serves such tasty meats was the cheesecake! Plain, no sauce, incredible that I have had the best cheesecake in Amsterdam at a meat restaurant!!

I had another steak at Cannibale Royale. It had been a while. There were two of us and we hadn't booked, but the attentive staff found two seats for us at the window bar. My medium-rare ribeye (l'incroyable) was perfectly cooked and deliciously juicy. I think the consistent quality is achieved by first cooking the meat sous vide, making it quick and easy to finish. The result is an exceptionally tasty piece of meat. The same was true for my dining companion, who ordered a slightly leaner bavette (le sympathique). Now, there are many steak restaurants in Amsterdam, and you'd think what could be easier than grilling a steak. And yet, Cannibale Royale stands out from the competition in a positive way. Deliciously tender meat, always perfectly cooked (something often lacking in many restaurants), and friendly but professional staff. Fries, a bit of broccoli for a side, a brownie, cheesecake for dessert, you know what. Nothing surprising, but that's not always necessary. I keep coming back. If I may mention one improvement: the pickled onion as an accompaniment could perhaps be served pickled. It's a bit dry now. But that's a matter of personal preference.

The food at Cannibale is, as always, truly amazing! I usually go to the location in Noord, but today I had such great service from Thuy in De Pijp! I'll definitely be coming back to this location from now on! Thuy was super attentive and sweet, she really enjoyed chatting with us! We had truly fantastic service! The quality has dropped a lot. I paid €23.50 for ribs that tasted burnt and had no seasoning at all. It was just the ribs, no sides included. Not worth it…

Came in on my own on an early Saturday evening. Didn’t have a reservation but was able to have a bar style seat. Ordered the Cannibale Royale burger with fries. Fries were excellent. The burger was really well made with high quality ingredients. Personally I’d have liked a bit more salt and vinegar with it. A few pickles, even one on the side, would have been good. Just lots of sweet umami parts to it. It’s nitpicking but would have balanced it somewhat. Still very good food and the prices aren’t bad. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Excellent place if you want a meat dinner in good but informal setting.

Absolutely great service. We went to celebrate my girlsfriends birthday and they took such good care of us from when we walked in until the end. Highly recommend if you appreciate great serice and great food.

The steak was 70% rare, but the surface was burnt and bitter. We asked for another one, and they said we had to pay for half a portion because we ate three pieces. I vomited it out, and the ribs were also half cold. Finally, the steak was re-ordered and it was normal.

The wine is overpriced. We ordered one Irish ribeye each (300g on the menu), we received this small steaks, for sure not even 200g, quality was good, but not understand why they have to skam the customers, even because in 3 the bill was almost 300€. Disappointed for prices and fake dishes weights. Service was ok, nothing special, was almost 00.00 they were trying to kick us out

On Saturday there was a very pleasant server.

This time, we chose the tartare starter, the Le Magnifique burger, and the Le Cannibale Royale burger. Everything was delicious, but for me, the tartare stood out as the most exceptional culinary experience. Among the desserts, the brownie was fantastic, while the fruity sauce on the cheesecake was perhaps a bit overpowering. Overall, it was a good experience, and the service was fast and friendly.

I recently took my work team to Cannibale Royal and it was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Everything we ordered from the starters right through to dessert was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. What truly made the evening stand out, though, was the service. A special shout-out to our hostess Jacky, who went above and beyond to make the whole experience memorable for everyone at the table. Her warmth, attentiveness, and energy really elevated the night. A special mention also to Bengio Osei for great service, Jacky was without doubt the superstar of the evening. Highly recommend Cannibale Royal for anyone looking for great food, a vibrant atmosphere, and outstanding hospitality.

As long as you accept that this is a restaurant with time slots, and that you're therefore reminded to leave your table at a certain time, it's actually fine. I had a deliciously tender piece of meat, tasty fries and salad, with an excellent wine. And because of the time slots, the service is very fast and efficient. If you're looking for a lengthy, fine dining experience, this isn't it. But if you want a delicious piece of meat, and you have to go to a party in an hour and a half anyway, then it's perfectly fine!

Of all the orders I've placed, it's happened maybe three times that the extra sauces I ordered weren't "forgotten," or I received half-full containers near closing time. Super annoying, and after all those times, it's no longer a mistake.

My go to place in Amsterdam for steak and ribs. The ambience and vibe of the restaurant is spot on, with a nice blend of casual but smart enough to attend on special occasions as well. The food is amazing and well priced. Can’t wait to visit again.

Ordered the spare ribs a few times before I gave up completely. Everytime the ribs were old AND cold. They clearly just had them laying around a heat lamp for hours. Worst ribs I’ve ever had and this has to be one of the easiest things to make. Doubt I’ll order again.

We recently dined at Cannibale Royale on Ruysdaelkade in Amsterdam, and it proved to be an excellent choice for an evening full of flavor, atmosphere, and good company. We started with the Cannibale bitterballen, which immediately set the tone: crispy, rich in flavor, and perfect for whetting the appetite. We also shared the chicken nachos – a generous portion, well-seasoned, and ideal for sharing. For our main course, we opted for the 1100-gram Tomahawk steak. A beautiful piece of meat with a generous pinch of flaky salt on the side, a fresh chimichurri, and, as a surprisingly refreshing counterpart, pickled red onion. The latter added a nice contrast to the dish and balanced it out nicely. We also chose bone marrow as an extra, which gave the steak just that little bit of extra depth. The tomahawk itself was slightly overcooked (medium) instead of medium rare. The sweet potato fries on the side were deliciously crispy on the outside and soft on the inside – just as they should be. Finally, we couldn't decide on dessert, so we opted for the Grand Dessert. No regrets: a lovely selection of sweets to share (or not, depending on your mood), which rounded off the evening perfectly. In short: Cannibale Royale offers a bold and flavorful menu without pretensions. The atmosphere is relaxed, the portions are generous, and the flavors are well-conceived. Highly recommended for meat lovers who appreciate quality with character.

I've eaten a lot at Cannibale Royale Du Nord and now I've moved on to Ryusdael. Same quality, same great service, everything is great again!

I visited around 8:30 PM when the restaurant wasn’t very busy, but no staff approached me, so I had to ask if I could place an order. Unfortunately, I found a hard, sharp object in my burger — possibly bone or wood. It was inedible and even poked the inside of my mouth. I took a photo for reference. When I mentioned it, a senior staff member responded that “it’s not a bad thing” and explained it came from the meat, but no apology was offered. Even if it was part of the meat, something sharp like that shouldn’t be in a burger. It made me feel quite uncomfortable. I was offered a replacement meal, but I had lost my appetite and declined. The burger was taken off the bill, which I appreciated, and the cashier did offer an apology — but I didn’t hear anything from the other staff involved. I had high hopes for this place, but the experience was disappointing. Sadly, I don’t see myself returning or recommending it to others. I had high expectations because there were so many good reviews, but I found a foreign substance in my food. When I complained, they just said it came from meat and wasn't bad for you, and offered no apology. It felt like they were treating me like a common person, which was disappointing. They took the burger off my bill, but no one apologized, except for the cashier. I wonder if they just ignored me because I was alone... I have a photo, but I didn't want to offend anyone.

The ingredients are top-quality, and the presentation is simple yet pleasing. The atmosphere is lovely, and the service is quite attentive. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit!
