Visited here many years ago and it was a great place. Coming back now, the atmosphere feels quite off compared to what it used to be. Removing the footrail at the bar was a strange decision, and having the bar seats turned outward just doesn't make sense. Disappointing changes overall.

This was again a great evening. I am loving the new menu. Hard to choose but I went for the white asparagus and had the entrecote with sauce de Paris. Those asparagus were fantastic. But really good. Entrecote frites is my to go to dish so happy days..!

We went for sharing, which makes it even more fun because everything is so delicious you’ll want to try it all. The wine recommendations were spot on and paired perfectly with the food. Make sure to finish the night with their amazing cocktails and desserts, they are absolutely worth it. The staff is friendly, attentive, and really understands your needs. Overall, a top experience.

So, where did this little gem suddenly come from? We went for a quick bite with some mates and, to our surprise, ended up in a true taste sensation. I don't think I've ever eaten asparagus as good as here. Amazing! I understood that the place has recently been run by a new duo, and it absolutely shows.

Great menu again! And some new gems on the wine list. My next visit won't take so long.

I really enjoyed dining here. The food was genuinely delicious, and the restaurant has a charming Dutch character, set across two levels. The cuisine feels like a pleasant blend of Dutch and French influences. The staff were kind, and the atmosphere was lovely.

We had an absolutely phenomenal time at Carter. The food was nothing short of exceptional, with every dish bringing surprising and unique flavor combinations to the table. The staff's wine pairing recommendations elevated the entire meal. I can't recommend this place enough, definitely go and experience it!

For a daytime beer, it was an extremely enjoyable place in my opinion. If it had been warmer, I could have sat outside and enjoyed the city like a local, but it was too cold, so I stayed inside. I stopped by before going to the airport because it was close to my hotel, but I regret not coming sooner. The fries were also excellent, and the staff had great energy.

If you like a very long wait for your order, and waitresses with an aggressive humor, loud music, i.e. shouted conversations this is definitely your place to be.

A very nice bar in the heart of a chic neighborhood!

This is our second time staying in Ams and our second time at this restaurant. The atmosphere is fantastic and pleasant, and it's a great place to enjoy a cocktail or a meal. This time we ordered the pumpkin risotto and the Angus burger. The risotto was excellent and addictive with every bite, and the burger's meat was superb and highly recommended. However, the price is a bit high, which might be a deterrent. Their fries are absolutely delicious.

Small portions, minimal decorations on the plate. Service and atmosphere are good. However, it's about 30% overpriced, except for the drinks.

The food is excellent and beautifully served, and the staff were very friendly. Stopping here is always a pleasure in this wonderful city.

Everyting perfect, but waiting time is soooo long, even though they were not that busy. Tables next to us had to wait as well around 10-15 min for menu and then 15 min for drinks

Cozy restaurant. Compact in many aspects: menu, tallessa in two floors plus tarrace, five beers in tap (one seasonal). Friendly service. Quite popular, had wait for couple of minutes for a table for four in saturday evening without reservation. Enjoyed Black August burger, although fries were a bit too crispy.

Server was really nice but food was very poor - fish and sauce were really bland and potatoes almost raw. When I asked for it to be redone it came back with the same food very hot but still not totally cooked. I wouldn't go back.

The employees were nice, the atmosphere was also quite nice. Unfortunately, the food wasn't very tasty and far too expensive. It was done very carelessly. The “grilled” vegetables could almost be described as raw, which is not pleasant with a few beans and broccoli. The small “Ceasar salad” was simply quartered iceberg lettuce with dressing and breadcrumbs slapped on top. The duck wasn't really tender, the puree was tasty. Clearly too little for the price, the price-performance ratio is not right here.

Great cozy and comfortable ambience, delicious and tasty food, great drinks and fantastic service and friendly staff...what more could you possibly want!?! Highly recommend this place and I will for sure be back. Don't hesitate to make a booking for here.

Short ribs were a bit salty but the taste was epic, it was as soft as it can be. It was really easy to eat. I came here again ninth end of November, here ismsome updated photos with deserts I have eaten lamb shank and crème brulee which wa amazing. As starters we hade artichoke but ı didnt like it that much. It was average. I also put the receipt to make you have an idea about the prices before you go. I strongly suggest you to do a reservation before you go

Sitting at the table for 10 minutes before being helped, first wanting the chicken from the menu as a main course, but it was no longer available. Then you choose the fish of the day, there was none left. In addition, there were things that did not go well in terms of service.

We had a lovely meal here tonight. We came in with our 10 month old baby and were very warmly welcomed. I had the veal and my husband had the cauliflower and both were so full of flavour. The staff were all so attentive and friendly. The restaurant is really comfortable and has a cool vibe.

If you're a foodie like me, you'll love this place! There are great food options on the menu and we loved everything we tried. We had only good comments about the food, especially the Rump steak. I can't wait to come back again! But I loved it very much

We had two meals here while visiting Amsterdam. The burgers were awesome and the fries amazing! The next day we had the chicken for 2 which was also excellent! Highly recommend.

Restaurant très sympa. Nous y sommes allés car il était proche de notre hôtel et nous n’avons pas été déçu. Nous avions réservé sur internet et malgré le fait que nous sommes arrivés en avance la serveuse a tout fait pour bien nous installé. La salade, le burger et les frites étaient très bonnes.

Ate with you last week. Cocktails were delicious and service top notch as always, but unfortunately I found the food to be very mediocre. The burrata was drowned in a tomato sauce and topped with a generous basil dressing?? The artichoke was overcooked and lay on a sour bed, which didn't add anything here either. The other dishes we ate were boring and nothing special. It's a real shame because I think Carter's atmosphere and service are fantastic!

Quaint. Delicious food, excellent cocktails, cold beer. A little bit of everything for every palate. Beef, fish, chicken, greens and dessert.

Everything was great! From the attention of the mixology guys to the lady who helped us and the food, we really enjoyed our time there.

I was in town with a bunch of friends for a family members birthday party. I organized a big lunch on Saturday here. The food was fantastica and service was great. The staff recognized a few of us from the night before because some of us came into the bar not knowing we would be eating there the next day. Great drinks and a very fun experience in a nice part of Amsterdam. I always try to go when I am in town as I have Dutch family that live in the neighborhood but I had never gone with a big group and I recommend it.

We had a great meal! We sat on the terrace which has a super chilled atmosphere in the calm suburbs. The rotisserie chicken for two was very tasty and cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
