By far one of the top restaurants in Amsterdam, price is fairly high but justified.

Extremely disappointing experience. The service was poor, and both the host and one of the waitresses were extremely rude and unprofessional toward us. Unfortunately, we also felt that we were treated differently because we are Arab, which made the experience even more unacceptable. The manager eventually came to speak with us and tried to address the situation, which we appreciated, but by that point the overall experience had already ruined our evening. Completely unacceptable and not an experience we would recommend.

The borata was really good, but the chicken milanese was so bad and so big we couldn’t finish it.

A truly wonderful experience! The dishes were absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and incredibly flavorful. Everything looked so tempting, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. The atmosphere is definitely one of the restaurant's strongest points: elegant, warm, and very refined. The decor, the magnificent floral paintings, and the small lamps on the tables create a truly cozy and chic ambiance, exactly as seen in the photos. ✨ We were also pleasantly surprised by the speed of service: we were seated promptly, and the dishes arrived without much delay. The staff is absolutely lovely, smiling, welcoming, and very professional. A place we thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. A wonderful combination of excellent cuisine, impeccable service, and a beautiful atmosphere.

Located in Soho House and absolutely beautiful. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. You feel comfortable here no matter what you look like. Friendly welcome. You're seated and can choose your meal. The food was very freshly prepared and arrived quickly. Even while eating, they checked if everything was okay and refilled your glasses. I had a huge pizza for €24, which was a great deal. I'd gladly come back anytime.

We faced a lack of welcome from the Arabs. They offered us a table that couldn't even seat two people, even though we had booked for five, and said, "Take it or leave." We left with our dignity intact.

This place had been on my list for a long time. Due to all the good reviews and beautiful photos, my expectations were quite high. Unfortunately, the food was a bit disappointing. We started with the carpaccio and the focaccia. I didn't think the quality of the meat was very high, certainly not for the price. The focaccia also looked tastier in the photos than it actually tasted. That was a disappointing start right away. We actually wanted to order pasta as well, but after the starters, we were unsure whether to stop there. In the end, we did try a pizza. It was fine, but not really special. The food was just tasty, but honestly, I have been to better Italian restaurants, even in the city center, where the price-quality ratio and portions are better. Because of the atmosphere, the location, and all the hype, I had expected more from it. The service was friendly, though, and they were able to advise us well on a suitable wine, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere and appearance of the restaurant are nice, but for me, good food is ultimately the most important thing (preferably both, of course). If the food had been better, I certainly would have come back more often. I wouldn't be quick to return to eat just for the atmosphere. Maybe once in the evening for a drink, but probably not for the food.

Amazing restaurant even the receptionist was very helpful named Arial. We reached the restaurant thinking we have the right reservation but it turned out to be for tomorrow. Loved the atmosphere in the lounge....a jazz band, attractive bar & a lovely vibe. My husband enjoyed his pizza but my risotto was undercooked which is embarrassing for an Italian restaurant! The staff were excellent & took the risotto off the bill & apologized which was appreciated. The menu had some gluten free options...a pasta dish, the risotto & offered GF bread which I have to say was disappointing ~ plain sliced bread slapped on a plate next to my husband focaccia! Come on, a restaurant of this calibre could offer GF bread rolls. That being said I would come again but would avoid the risotto!

We just had dinner at cecconi’s for my husband birthday. The atmosphere and the food was simply amazing. I recommend the Viel tonnato, as an Italian I can tell it was perfectly done. A must to try is the profiteroles for desert next level! Our waiter Moses really was the cherry on top, so charismatic and caring. We had the best evening!

first of all i ordered 2 pastas and it came very late after 40 minutes of ordering!!! we ate the salad and the pizza and still the 2 pastas didn’t show up and apparently he forgot our rest order. i didn’t like the service at all, second we took a picture then the waiter asking us to take photos with no flash? im sorry but why? no one was around us to be bothered by us! so disappointed with the experience

Great drink menu, excellent ricotta appetizer, and friendly service. We visited on June 29 and were seated right away without a reservation. The pasta was okay but not particularly memorable. We appreciated the extra bread, although €5 felt excessive.My only issue was that a 20% tip was selected on the payment terminal without asking me first. Tipping in Amsterdam is appreciated but not expected, and I would have gladly left a tip if given the choice.Overall, I'd recommend this spot for drinks and appetizers if you're in the area.

This place easily deserves more than 5 stars.⭐️ We chose it for our monthly date night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were welcomed by friendly hostesses, shown to our table, and offered a place to leave our extra belongings in the cloakroom. Our waiter was extremely polite, attentive, and handled all of our questions with care. The service was fast and the overall quality was excellent. The food was genuinely delicious, and the main courses were very generous in portion size. For dessert, we ordered cocktails, which were absolutely amazing. Considering this is primarily a restaurant rather than a bar, the cocktails were still impressive enough to compete with places that specialize in drinks. Another highlight was the Art Deco interior, which feels elegant, refined, and luxurious. As far as I understand, the building itself is a historic monument, and it was lovely to see original 1930s details preserved inside. Overall, this is truly a place worth visiting. I have been here more than once, and I think it is perfect both for a date night and for meeting friends, especially because after dinner you can move to the main bar area, where plants hang beautifully from the ceiling. It creates a stunning atmosphere.

I made a reservation here for my boyfriend's birthday and was really looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately, the visit turned into a huge disappointment. Everything started well. We ordered the parmigiana, focaccia, meatballs, burrata, pasta, and pizza. However, halfway through the evening, my boyfriend and I both developed extreme stomach pain at the same time. Not just a little stomach ache, but severe stabbing pains that literally prevented us from eating or drinking. Neither of us is allergic to anything and we eat these kinds of dishes regularly, so this was very noticeable to us. When we were asked if everything was to our liking, we honestly explained what was going on. We couldn't continue eating and basically just wanted to go home. Our waiter, a friendly Brazilian guy who indicated he was just his first week working, reacted understandingly and called over a supervisor. That is when the frustration really started. After we had explained how much pain we were in, the supervisor first offered us a dessert. When we indicated that we absolutely did not want one because we felt so unwell, she said she would discuss it with the kitchen. Next, we sat waiting for over 20 minutes with severe stomach pain before she returned. Her conclusion? There was supposedly nothing wrong with the food. We found that a strange reaction, to say the least. After all, my boyfriend and I both developed the same symptoms at the same time, whereas we hadn't had any issues before. Even more striking was that the manager even suggested it might be due to the warm weather. Excuse me? We entered the restaurant without any complaints and both developed such severe stomach pain during the meal that we had to cut our evening short and wanted to go home immediately. Eventually, the main courses were removed from the bill because we had barely eaten any of them. That makes sense, since we literally couldn't eat anymore. The bottle of wine was also removed, but two glasses of wine were still charged. In the end, we still paid €75 for an evening that was completely ruined. What made it even more bitter is that it was my boyfriend's birthday. I had deliberately chosen Cecconi’s and even asked beforehand if "Happy Birthday" could be written on the board next to the dessert. Due to the situation, we didn't even get around to that. We had plans after dinner, but ultimately went straight home because of the pain. The only positive note of the evening was our waiter. He was friendly, helpful, and professional throughout the entire situation. Some colleagues could learn a thing or two from him. Finally, as we were leaving, my friend looked back briefly and saw the manager—a lady with red hair—laughing as we departed. Perhaps it wasn't directed at us, but at that moment, it came across that way. Given the circumstances, that felt particularly inappropriate. It is a terrible shame. My friend's birthday has been ruined, not only by the physical complaints we experienced during dinner, but especially by the way this was handled. For a restaurant in this price range, I had expected much more understanding, empathy, and professionalism.

We wandered in here our first night in Amsterdam looking for a quick bite, not realizing this was a Michelin star rated restaurant. Still they were very accommodating and got us in and out pretty quickly. My wife had the pasta bolognese which was absolutely amazing. The ravioli was small but perfectly portioned and delicious! Service was great and I will definitely come back when I have more time to enjoy the full menu.

Beautiful place, best Italian food in Amsterdam

A very good place for a romantic evening dinner. Had one of the best Diavola type pizzas in my life. The music taste of whoever chose the playlist was also on point 😉 It goes without saying it is way above average priced restaurants, however the service is impeccable and the ambiance is perfect 🤩

Very bad attitude from the waiters. We couldn't even bring a bottle of 135 euro home (opened) because of some nonsense no license for outside rule. After spending 1000 euro we had to ask for 5 limoncello. And when we did they told us it wasn't nice to ask for a drink from the house. Food is good music as well. But they are just not client friendly...

Old school, fine dining restaurant. Live music, pleasant, jazz. Food was delicious and service was attentive and met with a smile. Atmosphere was lovely, background live music and people chatting away enjoying their meals.

Horribly expensive for the price and quantity. Unfortunately, the quality of the food doesn't live up to expectations either. A Milanese-style veal cutlet with no sides, very greasy and not particularly high quality, for €57… The service was completely inadequate for the price and location. Never again.

I went here with high expectations. I got a spot at the bar with my boyfriend, which we actually liked. However, we were served by the bartender, who unfortunately paid little attention to us. He also didn't really know much about the wines on the menu, which is a shame, because as a result, we ended up getting a wine on his recommendation that I couldn't describe at all. The food was also very expensive for what you got; the polpetta was very small and not special at all, the same goes for the parmigiana (which, by the way, wasn't really tasty at all). The pizzas were good, though €30 for a calzone that only contained cheese with mortadella on top and some truffle is way too over-pizzad. At the end, we had both chosen a cocktail, but there were only weird cocktails on the menu, so we let ourselves be surprised. But neither of us really liked this one either (our fault too, I get that). My boyfriend and I still had a good time, but I certainly wouldn't come back. For this price.

The restaurant super hot no air , the air conditioner was not working we couldn’t stay

From all the places in Amsterdam you could choose - this one is just "ok". The price and the quality of food does not match. We tried a few sides (whipped risotto was good), various pasta (some were good but not all), tiramisu was good. But as mentioned it feels like you can get similar or better quality from a similar italian place in AMS. So is the extra for the service and atmosphere?.. I liked the buzz and the atmosphere of the place but the tables were stacked together and it felt like the staff was walking constantly around the table (serving other tables).

Beautiful interior and atmosphere that’s a mixture of elegant but lively. Service was fast and professional. We had the cacio e peppe, tagliatelle bolognese, and prosciutto pizza which were good but not necessarily amazing. Go here for the atmosphere, people, and service. Also a good date spot.

The restaurant was so noisy that we couldn't hear each other while talking to my dining companions. We went as a group of eight. We were forced to take the chef's menu. We couldn't choose the dishes we wanted. I couldn't leave the table so as not to offend my friends. Interestingly, the portions served were smaller than what was supposed to be for eight people. We were charged for the chef's menu for eight people. I felt cheated. In short, I am not satisfied. I will not go to this restaurant again.

We’ve been to Cecconi’s several times and found that this visit was a complete letdown. Our expectations for the food and service were not met at all. The waiter was wearing a very dirty apron—the stains certainly weren’t from his current shift—and served us half-heartedly while chewing gum. The service staff was largely untrained and therefore very clumsy. The food is still okay, but we’ve had better meals. All in all, however, the prices are completely out of line with the service and quality provided. Cecconi’s has always been a go-to spot for us, but yesterday we decided that was the last time we’d be there.

It is a visually impressive space that sets a high expectation the moment you walk through the door. The Drinks The beverage program is a clear highlight. The wine list is well-curated with excellent options, making the restaurant a fantastic destination if you are looking to enjoy a premium drink in a sophisticated setting. The Food The culinary experience, however, did not live up to the environment or the price point. While the food was nothing special overall, the spaghetti with lobster was particularly disappointing. Though it featured a nice presentation, the lobster itself was not fresh, and the taste was noticeably off. Given the premium pricing, the quality of the dishes simply does not match the cost. Final Verdict If I were to return to Cecconi's Amsterdam, it would strictly be for drinks and to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere, rather than for a full dinner experience.

He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made us feel genuinely welcomed and valued throughout the evening. It’s rare to come across service that feels both polished and sincere, but Mamun delivered exactly that. Cecconi’s is already a beautiful restaurant with amazing ambiance and food, but Mamun elevated the experience to another level. If you have the opportunity to dine there, I highly recommend asking for him — he is an absolute asset to the restaurant. Thank you, Mamun, for an unforgettable evening and world-class service!

Horrendous service. The staff are so rude. I’ve never been to a Cecconi’s and I’ve been to a lot where the staff were so unwelcoming. The Asian receptionist was the worst, huffing and puffing her way around. Not coming back here again for sure.

A wonderful experience of Italian cuisine in Holland. I was amazed by the food, made with simple yet highly elaborate ingredients. The food was exceptional. Excellent wine. Professional staff, attentive and meticulous, who guide you through every dish.

Had lunch at Cecconi’s for my boyfriend’s 30th and had a truly wonderful afternoon. The tuna tartare and steak tartare were super tasty, and the pastas are definitely highly recommended as well. At the end, they brought out a small cake with a candle, which was really sweet. We will definitely be back here!

Always a nice and cozy atmosphere! It's a shame that everyone speaks English. Our waitress was super friendly. Starters are very expensive. Carpaccio and bruschetta are very small. Personally, I would skip them. All the pizzas and pastas are delicious! The main course portions are large. Tiramisu remains the absolute best dessert. It is a pity, though, that they don't come to serve it at your table. That would add a more personal touch and fit better with the authentic Italian atmosphere. Given the popularity, they need to be careful not to lose this. Sometimes very noisy; ask for a table in the back if you want to chat with each other. Tables overlooking the canals are the nicest!

We had dinner with four people last night. Very tasty. The staff were very friendly, though sometimes a bit too quick to clear plates or glasses. One downside I found were the wine glasses. There is only one type of glass, a narrow glass suitable for white wine. A large glass is appropriate for red wine.

We were squeezed in last minute with a group thanks to the amazing host. Pasta was delicious, and the extra bread they gave us to soak up the bread was *chef’s kiss*!! I wanted another order of that! Beautiful atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Improvement points: portions could be bigger and the bottle of prosecco we ordered was a let down - no one at the table liked it, sadly. It was way too ‘bubbly’ in the mouth.

It was the first night in Amsterdam for the 3 of us and Cecconi's at 18:00 was recommend to us by our concierge. This ended up being one of our best meals during our stay in Amsterdam. Attentive staff. We ended up ordering extra food when we discovered how good the first dishes were. Meatballs were a bit room temperature but were still excellent especially when sause was paired with the focaccia bread. The veal chops were a favorite at the table, with flavorful breading and cooked perfectly. We had excellent mixed drinks and wine as well and ended up staying longer than expected after a 12 hour travel day.

The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. I had mentioned in advance that it was my friend’s birthday, and they surprised us with a cake and a candle without even needing a reminder when we arrived. The atmosphere was beautiful and we truly had such a lovely time.

I visited Cecconi’s Amsterdam for lunch on March 31 and left disappointed by the experience. We were told the restaurant area was fully reserved and were seated at the bar, even though the dining room appeared to remain mostly empty during our visit. The main issue was the service at the bar: the bartender came across as unfriendly and inattentive, there was very little engagement, and we did not feel looked after at all. Our food arrived slightly cold, but as this was a business lunch, we did not raise it at the time. At the end, the bill was handed to us wet, and even after leaving a tip, there was no thank you or eye contact. For around €70 for two pasta dishes, I expected much better service and a more welcoming experience. The setting is beautiful, but the hospitality did not match the price.

Amazing experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was friendly and attentive, and the pizza OMG was absolutely outstanding, perfectly cooked with fresh, high quality ingredients. Definitely one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful Italian restaurant in the very heart of Amsterdam, located in a beautiful and prestigious building. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service feels genuinely attentive. The food was delicious. We had a small comment about the appetizers, which was taken seriously and resolved perfectly. That really builds trust. We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant.

Awful welcome by the hostess. We arrived with a small baby and had to wait 20 minutes because our table wasn’t ready. Despite booking a table in the restaurant area, we were pushed towards the lounge with very low chairs, which was completely unsuitable for older parents and a baby. When we asked for proper chairs or a solution, there was no willingness to help. Shocking lack of care and hospitality.

Delicious pizza and wine. Here's an update after 6 years (2025) Cecconi's used to feel like a hidden gem in Amsterdam; chic, atmospheric, and with top-quality food. These days, it looks more like an Instagram backdrop where people linger for hours for a few drinks and content for their stories. The vibe has changed, and unfortunately, so has the food. The calamari (the best side dish!) has simply disappeared from the menu, and what's replaced it isn't anything special. Fortunately, the Italian service is still top-notch and knowledgeable. But the feeling of exclusivity has been somewhat lost. Next time, I'll eat upstairs again, away from the TikTok terrace.

It was a pleasant place; we went by appointment, had dinner at the bar, and there was live music. It was a quality place where you could eat and chat. We were pleased.

Limited selection of tasty food. Only the pizzas are good. Expensive. Uncomfortable seats. Loud. Live music. Terrible waiter who decided to find out what he didn't like.

Great pizza and cacio e pepe. However, it took a very long time for our starter (ricotta with honey) to arrive, whilst this was not the case for our neighbours. It was also my birthday and we had plans afterwards, so the timing was important. When we were already leaving and had our coats on, we were told they had a tiramisu for us, which was disappointing as it came too late and we had to leave. And trust me we were at the restaurant for a long time.

I had a really disappointing experience at Cecconi’s Amsterdam. The service wasn’t great, and When we tried to order several items, we were told they were sold out. I ended up ordering the lobster, and it honestly wasn’t good at all — no flavor and definitely not worth the price. The whole experience just felt below average, especially for a restaurant with this reputation. Wouldn’t recommend it based on my visit.

The service and hospitality is 10+. Food was very quickly served and also some jazz entertainment in the lounge. Wonderful❤️ they were also very aware of my personal request upon the reservation what was amazing to have to celebrate my friends birthday

What a show-off. We made a reservation using our credit card number. Something went wrong. We arrived on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM. The manager told us there was no room. There was an error in the reservation system, which they were aware of. But unfortunately, there was no room for us. And no solution or compensation. Just try booking a new table at this time in Amsterdam. The worst part of this story is that half an hour later, we checked Cecconi's website again. And they said there was a table available at 8:30 PM. Weirdly, we would have preferred to have a drink somewhere else and then come back an hour later to eat at Cecconi. But no solution was offered. A real missed opportunity and a lack of customer service. And then the way we were treated... ridiculous and rude.

Excellent service! We went with our 2 year old baby and they were super kind and his food was delicious! He love it! Decoration is wonderful and we loved the open kitchen style!
