Ferilli's Specialità UpTown in Zuidas

Ate here yesterday. The food itself was good quality, but it wasn't in line with the prices at comparable restaurants. €24 for vitello tonnato as a starter is simply too much (I'd recommend a maximum of €15), and the pasta was also quite pricey, averaging over €25 for a small plate without any side dishes, such as salad or vegetables. For that price, you'd expect exceptional quality, such as better plate presentation and a much more refined flavor profile. Furthermore, there weren't many drinks on offer. So they could make more money there, but the service wasn't very attentive in that regard. Serving more drinks and lowering the price per dish would improve the price-quality ratio. The atmosphere was otherwise excellent, and the staff were friendly.

I have rarely felt so uncomfortable and mistreated in a restaurant. The staff was extremely unfriendly, and we were clearly treated differently than other guests. While others had their coats taken and checked in as a matter of course, we were completely ignored. We arrived in good spirits, ready to have a pleasant evening and spend some money. At first, we thought the evening would turn out alright: the cocktails were really good, and the appetizer arrived quickly. But after that, everything went downhill. We had to wait almost an hour for our main course—even though the restaurant wasn't nearly full. What was particularly frustrating was that guests who arrived much later received their food much sooner. Only after we pointed this out to a waiter did our food arrive five minutes later. The disappointment was compounded by the main course: a tiny portion for €30 pasta is simply unacceptable. Our dissatisfaction was obvious, yet no one made any effort to salvage the situation or even apologize. In the end, we had completely lost our appetite. Instead of ordering dessert or coffee, we just wanted to leave. We came full of anticipation and left utterly disappointed. We've decided: Never again.

We went last Saturday and had a great experience. We made a reservation by phone, and the woman on the phone was super friendly. The food was delicious. The mocktails were too. The staff was super friendly. Definitely worth going back!

We went there for a company dinner with a customer and partner and paid 75 euro's per person. However, every dish needed to be shared amongst the group (EVEN the Desert!!!). I think this place should be avoided at all costs, there are way better alternatives.

One of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. Even with a reservation when we arrived they were confused to where to seat us so they walked us around upstairs then downstairs looking for a table. Also, DO NOT try the Carbonara. I have ordered it with my partner. It was the worst Carbonara I ate in my life. It was swimming in raw eggs literally. The waiters AND the manager continued to ignore us for some reason while we were waiting multiple times for +30 minutes each time. They still had the audacity to charge us 40 euros for bread and coke after the great experience there. This was the most overpriced and the least value of a meal I have ever had in my life. The waiter ran after me outside while I smoked a cigarette after complaining about the food to ask me to pay the bill for the "bread" that we ate. How pathetic.

This place does not deserve a 3,9. Service is quite good and food is delicious! I always have the melanzane a la parmiggiana - unbeatable!

Nice formal atmosphere with high ceilings, was not too busy when i visited during lunch, so could talk easy during a business meal. Sharp staff. We found the truffle pasta rather heavy and thick, would not recommend adding cheese if they ask you.

Absolutely amazing staff. Really friendly and knowledgeable. Food was decent too, no complaints. A little bit shocked by so many negative reviews, doesn’t do justice on this great place with excellent staff.

The other branch of Ferilli has much more atmosphere and charm, but here too, as expected, good food, good service, good staff.

Although the food was delicious, the service was truly awful. There were eight of us, including three children. When we sat down, we had to wait 20 minutes for our drink orders to be taken. Then the other half of the group arrived, and we had to wait another 20 minutes. We kept trying to get attention, but we were simply ignored. Finally, we went to the bar, and there was almost a sigh. The two younger children wanted to share a pasta dish; I asked if it could be shared on two plates. I received strange looks and was finally given two plates with the message, "You can do it yourself." We were there to celebrate a birthday, and the adults all work in the hospitality industry. So, we wouldn't hesitate to order another round. But I didn't get the impression they were trying to make money. We had more empty glasses than full ones. It wasn't busy at all, and there were plenty of staff around. For a restaurant that charges between 26 and 33 euros for pasta, you expect a bit more. After repeatedly requesting a bit more service, nothing was done about it. And then finally the bill arrived: €600. It could easily have been €800 if they had helped us more. When I left, I said something about it, saying I thought it was ridiculous. I didn't get an apology, just the message that this restaurant wasn't for us. Well, they were right, because if they treat guests like that, this restaurant isn't for me! I recommend everyone to go somewhere else. Which is a real shame, because the food is really good!

I was attended by the tall guy in white and he was so nice with us. We accidently booked for an hour earlier than we wanted and they kindly found a place for us so quick. The food was marvelous! We went for the malanzanna and the tagliolini and we will repeat for sure

Very bad experience. The two of us went to dinner and the man with glasses was quite arrogant at first, but okay. We sat down and the gentleman indicated that there was only one lobster pasta while we wanted two. Fine. Finally, the gentleman came again with a blunt tone WITHOUT apologizing and indicated that there was no lobster pasta at all. He walked away without letting us finish. The fact that there is no pasta is already strange. But please do something about your service because we won't be coming back here again!

Being Italian, I think their food is overrated - especially for the asked price.

My first time here, but I was slightly disappointed in the food. The Tuna tartare didn’t have much flavor. The lasagne was very salty (especially the top layer and the meat) and the Sgroppinio was mostly Vodka I couldn’t even taste the lemon icecream. It was more like a drink than a dessert. Perhaps the other dishes are fine, but I didn’t choose that. Service was okay, but not exceptional. Atmosphere was nice. Calm and not loud.

Very disappointing experience after previous positive visits! We have eaten at this restaurant several times and it was always great, but this time the experience was unfortunately very disappointing. The staff was really not attentive and had absolutely no regard for the guests. They were constantly pushing at far too fast a pace: "Are you ready yet? Are you ready yet?" It was really rude and felt very uncomfortable. In addition, we got a place that was completely draughty, which made it not exactly pleasant. Our plates were taken away in front of us as if there was a shortage of cutlery and plates. When we kindly indicated that we wanted to quietly enjoy our food and conversations, we were told that others also wanted to sit at our table and that we had to eat quickly. This was definitely not the level of service we had enjoyed during our previous visits. The welcome was also far below par, not what we were used to from this restaurant. We have often eaten here and even celebrated birthdays, always with great satisfaction. Unfortunately today's staff was completely different: rude and disrespectful. This is definitely a reason for us not to come back for a while. Very unfortunate.

We were forgotten even though we had a reservation. With prices of €27 for pizza, that's outrageous.

Food was ok, not great - we had shared dining which was not ideal on such small tables. The service was very poor, presume due to lack of staff, to the extent that the Chef was out in the restaurant serving. The restaurant has a lovely setting with high ceilings, which makes it seem bigger than it is, and lovely decor BUT the small tables and uncomfortable seats made for a not so pleasant evening.

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the food is one of the best Italian dishes I’ve ever eaten (coming from an Italian individual) Adriano the bar/restaurant manager is so super kind and helpful, made us feel welcome the second we walked in! What a incredible experience from start to finish :)

Ended up here with my family by chance. Even though the restaurant was full, a table was made available for us on the 1st floor. The staff in the open kitchen greeted us kindly. Beautiful restaurant, nice contemporary decor. Comfortable seats. Service was very attentive. The dishes could perhaps be a little more refined, but they tasted good. So I can't post the negative reviews I see here. We had a relaxing evening. I could definitely come back here again. Then I can also try the tasty-looking cocktails that I saw on the table elsewhere, but I have not tried them myself.

We thought we would enjoy a luxurious dinner with my husband. We were looking forward to the food. We really expected an experience. Starter a burrata and carpaccio. It's really laughable how it's served. I was literally given a plate with a kg of tomatoes and supermarket burrata in the middle with cheese nibbles???? This is the simplest thing I could eat at home!! Definitely not worth 18 euros. Carpaccio was okay but nothing special. Then we ordered the truffle pasta. It was clumped together. I also felt really nauseous. We had a shitty evening. And that is €164,-!!!! Wasted money

Truly the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at, and I am not exaggerating.

It is a beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere. But I think that says it all. I actually only order lobster at good restaurants, because I have had bad experiences. Well you can tell, NOT RECOMMENDED. I was served a plate of tomato sauce with pasta and a whole lobster. Taste a bite of the sauce and you'll laugh. It's like leaving a lobster in tomato sauce for 3 days... I couldn't eat it, I felt nauseous from just one bite. So I tried the lobster myself, but that didn't warm me up either. It wasn't fresh fresh. I left my entire plate with 3 snacks out. Friends also tasted it and said exactly the same. It's nice that it took an hour (and they already came to clear the table) to notice that. Then the manager was called in, who fortunately offered me an alternative. It was a bit of a shame that I was given another plate of truffle pasta when the table had already been cleared. Truffle pasta was okay. I suspect that a lot of the “same” things are ordered here, such as the drinks platters (which were also a 6) and that the specialties therefore remain available longer. The wine (verdicchio) was very good! Service hardly comes to your table. All in all, not recommended. You won't see me here again

Ravioli with goat cheese and shrimps: horrible, pasta with truffle: no taste, service: absolutely despicable. As an Italian: this is not Italian food, do not get fooled.

The restaurant's dimly lit ambiance creates the perfect setting for a romantic date or an intimate gathering. The atmosphere feels cozy and inviting, complemented by pleasant music. The service was exceptional, particularly from the gentleman dressed in white who attended to us throughout the evening with great care. The food was both flavorful and visually stunning, making for a truly special and delicious dining experience.

Immediately upon entering you walk into the chic bar and are drawn into the trendy atmosphere of the beautifully decorated restaurant accompanied by soft lounge music. The place was quite full on a Monday evening and that was not difficult. The service is very friendly, the menu is varied and the wine list offers sufficient options of wines “by the glass”. The prices are - especially for this neighborhood in Amsterdam - reasonable. I had a perfectly mixed Negroni as an aperitif and chose the Vitello Tonnato as a starter. It was really beautifully presented, generously provided with parmiggiano and decent in terms of portion size and taste balance. As a main course I had the Tagliolini al Tartufo - pasta with truffle. This one was somewhat disappointing; small portion, flat in taste, (too) little truffle and bathed in a sea of ​​cream. For €30.00 one might expect a little more and this was therefore somewhat of a letdown. A little parmesan cheese and freshly ground pepper would have enhanced the dish. I finished with a nice coffee. All in all a nice dining experience!

Decided to eat here after we were treated ridiculously badly at the other Ferilli's restaurant. Hostess does not have her affairs in order there at all and not to mention the hospitality there, incredibly arrogant staff so we decided to sit a little further away. Fortunately, we received a warm welcome at this new Ferilli tent. Hostess was super friendly and the service + DJ of the evening were a 10+.

We made a reservation and even got a confirmation email. But when we arrived, the staff told us there was no space for us. The woman behind the bar was rude and dismissive, making us feel really unwelcome. No effort was made to fix the situation. Very disappointing for a place that’s supposed to be high-end.

Extra menu paid! Pay attention to your receipt because we had an extra menu on our bill that I only saw the next day. When we asked, this was because we had reserved for 9, but we had indicated in advance that there would be 8 of us and we were not told this at checkout. Called and emailed twice but no response! Very poor service not to mention this and not to respond afterwards

I had dinner here and was very dissatisfied with the service. The waitress was very arrogant and I have never experienced such bad service in a restaurant. The waitress gave angry look after look. We then received the food and were not asked in between if everything was to our liking. My girlfriend and I also regularly tried to contact the waitress and waiter, because we wanted to ask something. After trying to make contact 6 times we gave up, we felt very ignored. When we asked for the voucher it took a very long time even though it didn't seem very busy. In short, not good service and would not recommend anyone to eat here.

Possibly a hype spot where the majority of people do not come for really authentic food. Because the food was tasteless and the service was unfortunately not what I am used to in restaurants in this price range. Tried 3 main courses with the 3 of us and all 3 of us agreed that it was tasteless food. 2/3 of each plate was still full (see photo) when we asked for the bill, and strangely enough no one noticed during the payment. In short, if you want to come here to watch monkeys and sit with your nose in the air, go for it. But for real foodies it is not recommended to pay €150 and then actually eat somewhere else.

Apparently there is another location, because we were expected there and not at this location. Fortunately, the hostess was able to arrange a table for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the friendliness of the staff. It was definitely worth it for us.

The atmosphere and waiters are nice but the food definitely sucks, it was one of the lowest quality foods I ate in Amsterdam unfortunately. The ravioli was like supermarket ravioli… I have been in the other location of theirs which was much better than this.

Yesterday I had dinner here. Upon arrival we received a friendly and professional welcome. Service was very well organised. Dishes were delicious. The atmosphere was nice and the interior was beautiful. All in all, highly recommended!

Food was meh… service was pretty bad

To me dining in a restaurant should be an experience. In the end I can also cook a pasta at home, but you pay for the service and the atmosphere. Unfortunately it was experienced by me and my company as rude, hurried and a distant service. This completely overshadowed the good food. When we arrived we had to wait 5 minutes until someone came to help us. Then we had to wait till our table was ready, which can happen, but we were already waiting for almost 10 minutes. When at the table they didn’t ask for our coats, that is also okay, but it’s just a small detail that you can pay attention to as HOSTESS. When ordering drinks I asked for a glass of tapwater (as a Dutch person I refuse to pay €6 for a bottle of water which i won’t drink completely lol). The waiter pretended to not hear me and asked if i wanted a bottle. The other time after dinner I asked it again and he again, asked if i wanted a bottle. Just accept that i want tap water :) When making a joke with another waiter about the cocktail he acted rude and wanted to get away as fast as possible. You don’t have to laugh but just be polite? The food was good, however we informed the restaurant it was a birthday dinner and they didn’t do anything to make it a special occasion. We ordered salmon which was good and the tartufo which was very blend. Please improve this dish as it is a popular dish and should be up to standard. Again, service was bad, as a hospitality employee myself I always try to deliver the best experience to my customers. Please learn to do the same or hire different personnel! I have been here three times before, enjoyed the food, was bothered by the staff.

I recently went to ferilli's and it was a horrible experience. The staff was downright rude and racist. I felt absolutely unwelcome and it was clear that they treated certain customers differently based on their ethnicity. This is completely unacceptable and it ruined my entire evening. In addition, the food was mediocre at best. The dishes were tasteless and not well prepared. For the price I paid, I expected much more. It seemed like they made no effort to put something decent on the table. I don't recommend anyone to eat here. The lack of respect from the staff and the disappointing quality of the food make this a place to avoid.

From receiving incorrect drink orders multiple times to being approached with inquiries about items we hadn't even requested, it was evident that the service was struggling to keep up with the demands of the evening. Despite these challenges, when it came time to settle the bill and leave a gratuity, we were met with a surprising response from the manager. Rather than accepting our tip, she graciously declined, citing that the service provided did not meet the standards they strive to uphold. This unexpected act of integrity and accountability truly impressed me. While the service may have faltered on this particular occasion, the professionalism displayed by the manager in acknowledging and addressing the issue speaks volumes about the commitment to quality at Ferillis. It's not often that you encounter such honesty and humility in the hospitality industry, and for that reason alone, I felt compelled to share my experience in this review and give 5 STARS. We were expecting more of this experience. The table where we were seated was really small even for a couple and the food could be better (this is just a personal opinion, it might be considered good food for others). I ordered a shrimp risotto and I received exactly 3 shrimps which is ridiculous for the price that I paid and the fact that it was advertised as a chef special dish. All in all we don't think we will return to this location.

Best Italian food in town. Buttttt The service is debatable. They have a few professional people but rest is inexperienced. Trying to take a cocktail out of my hand while I was holding it literally in my hand and drinking it (because he has to clean the table) was the last draw for me. Or while I was still eating, him trying to take the plate away (with half full plate). Weird. (I’ve been there a few times and they really have to work on their service quality.)

What a disappointment. On Christmas Day my wife and I decided to eat at this restaurant. The brother of this restaurant is always a great experience, but we wanted to try this restaurant. To this day we don't know what happened to the host. This man was downright rude. We were placed upstairs in the corner near the kitchen. When we asked for another table downstairs, this was eventually possible. We got a table next to the door downstairs. We assumed that the restaurant would be fully booked, but nothing was further from the truth during dinner. We had to ask 3 times to order drinks. and it was just as difficult with the food. they paid no attention to us. The Host did not look at us and acted very disinterested. After dinner, this man threw the bill on the table and I eventually had to ask at the bar if I could pay. The host came after about 10 minutes and during the payment he looked everywhere except at us. After the beep of the pin he walked away without saying anything. We had to get our coats from the rack ourselves, even after giving a hint to the bar staff. And then they walked out the door unnoticed. The food was fine and we ended up paying just over 200 euros.

A bit shocked by the experience. The interior gives a luxurious feeling upon entering. A lot of attention has been paid to this and it gives the feeling of a luxurious French restaurant but with Italian cuisine. The service is also very well dressed. The young man who served us did a very good job and came across well. Since we had a late lunch, we had a shared starter and then a secondi platti. The tuna tartare as a starter was not tasty and tasted very bitter. We indicated this to the waiter. Then I had saltimbocca and it was still somewhat tasty because of the cheese on it. However, the meat tasted of nothing. My girlfriend had scallopina al funghi. Three of our table companions tasted this dish and the conclusion was that it was simply bad. No taste whatsoever... We sent this back to the kitchen but we later understood that the kitchen did not agree with the conclusion. This surprises me enormously. Then I leave out the fact that the spinach as a side dish was not good and had to be reminded several times about an order. That would be Murphy's law. In the end the bill (€320) still showed the scallopina. I indicated that I would absolutely not pay for this, after which it was removed from the account. With 3 people we still spent €290 (4 people) (expensive bottle of wine), but I don't think it's worth half that.

Perfect place for a cosy buisness lunch , service is perfect althought the parmigiana melanzane was overcooked outside, Nicoleta she is always smiling and professional.

We always loved coming here as everything worked like a clock. The food was still beautiful ( although the parmigiana melanzane was overcooked outside and not tender enough inside) Service though was just bad- not a well oiled team at all. Sorry to have experienced this.

Excellent food, excellent service

I recently dined at Ferilli's Specialità UpTown and was excited to try their carbonara pasta. Unfortunately, it turned out to be disappointingly salty, overshadowing the other flavors. We also tried a chocolate dessert, which sadly did not meet our expectations either. Additionally, considering the quality of the dishes we experienced, the overall cost did not seem justified. I hope this feedback helps the restaurant improve its offerings.

The ambient is very nice, but the round tables are so small you can't fit the plates on comfortably. The veal in the lemon mushroom sauce was so sour that you couldn't taste anything else in the sauce but the lemon. The cocktails are great, but the desert was another disappointment. The meringue pie came icy instead of creamy and the only tasty thing on it was the meringue. We also ordered a coca cola and got a cola zero, which wasn't corrected on the bill. Overall, the service was very good, and professional but the food was not worth the price at all.

I have been to Ferillis for my birthday because it was the only restaurant that seemed like it could meet the fine dining experience that I know from London! And it really did not disappoint me at all, everything was freshly prepared, from the starters to the desserts everything left me beyond impressed. The service was top notch! I will definitely be back.

This Italian restaurant was quite a find. My girlfriend and I enjoyed our experience here immensely and will be back. My only comment which is not 100% positive (and is outside of the control of the restaurant) is the construction going on nearby... which is only a temporary and slight "ding" against the atmosphere - especially on the terrace. My girl friend and I love our meals and will be back!

What a delight, from start to finish. I loved the joyful service and strong Italian accents on the staff. We had our table upstairs...also great if you need something more private. Then come our dishes. They tasted wonderful. The taglionini al tartufo...so so creamy, so tasteful, the lasagna tradizionale, plated rich and delicious, I could taste all the minced meat flavors and the simple pasta pomodori, so basic yet so flavourful... Cena de grupo donde probamos una variedad de platos amplio, incluyendo postres. La cantidad me pareció justa por la gente que éramos. Mi silla tenia el respaldo no fijo y éramos una persona mas de la reserva pero la flexibilidad para reajustar los comensales fue limitada. El equipo humano italiano y esto le da valor a lo q sirven. Y los platos gastronómicamente bien, quizás los postres lo mas flojo.

Since you arrive to the restaurant, the service is amazing. The decoration is very elegant and there is a an upbeat atmosphere. The food was delicious and authentic. I am looking forward to going back!

It was just amazing food and service.

Very disappointing. Overpriced, unattentive service, average food. A pity since I hoped this ro be my new regular Italian since I live next door, but I won't return. Already the booking process was a mess, should have not insisted when they just sent me a cancellation for a confirmed booking, without explanation...

Super lekker eten, zeer authentiek, vriendelijk personeel, wel een beetje luidruchtig. Als je daar geen last van hebt dan is het een aanrader. Echt Italiaanse cuisine

Very good italian food, nice atmosphere and the service was amazing. Would recommend the truffle pasta and merengue cake as a dessert.

Great team and good service. It took a bit long to be served, but when it was good and the food tast delicious.
