Isola Bella in Grachtengordel-Zuid

A lovely, small, authentic restaurant. Very friendly and attentive staff. We were there in the late afternoon. The tomato soup was sensational!! We would also order the vegetarian ravioli again anytime. Everything was freshly prepared and served piping hot ☺️ If we are ever in Amsterdam again, we will definitely come back ☺️

The food was fantastic and the atmosphere is very warm and comfy. I'd go back ☺️

Very warm welcome, excellent waiters and service! Simple and effective dishes. On the other hand, a little tip: try to rethink the presentation: for example, for pasta, serve it in soup plates rather than flat plates; it'll look more presentable ;)

Great little date spot in Amsterdam. We had the carbonara, bruschetta, caprese salad and filet. Everything was delicious! Drinks are strong, desserts are tasty and the staff is very funny and attentive.

One of the worst spaghetti carbonara I've ever eaten. The bacon tasted bad, the spaghetti was overcooked. I don't recommend it, sorry. Good service, but not great pasta... and on top of that, the spaghetti was €16.

Sorry, but we're not there yet. Nice place and excellent service, but the food isn't there. Below-average pizza (for goodness sake, in Italy, I've had worse...). Overcooked pasta, good sauce, but overcooked. It seems like a typical Italian restaurant, but for non-Italians.

My partner and I stopped for dinner because we were tired of searching and wanted pizza, but here, besides good service and a nice, welcoming place, we didn't find a good pizza. One of the worst pizzas I've ever had, with raw ingredients thrown on top that prevented it from cooking properly, mozzarella that hadn't melted, and the whole thing was pretty tasteless. We paid €18 for a vegetarian... I don't think we'll be back.

I ate here twice during my stay in Amsterdam: once for dinner and once for lunch. I had pasta and I can say that the dishes were good and plentiful. The staff is very friendly and attentive. You can eat in peace and without the hustle and bustle that you find in other places.

Estaba sentado en la parte trasera y esperó 30 - 45 minutos para ser reconocido después de que se cerraron los menús, camarera nunca volvió. El restaurante no estaba demasiado ocupado para un sábado por la noche. Mi hijo quería el desierto pero nunca nos ofrecieron, nunca nos preguntaron si queríamos beber algo. Pedimos agua con nuestra cena y nos cobraron $ 8 por el agua, ¿es esto típico en Amsterdam? ¿Tal vez? Causó nuestra primera impresión de Amsterdam no es genial, muy desagradable. Definitivamente no recomendaría especialmente con tantas opciones gastronómicas en esta área.

We've been here twice during our visits to Amsterdam. We liked that we always arrived to find there were always tables available. It's spacious, and the service is quick. The pizzas are very good, and the spaghetti is also delicious. I also really liked the tiramisu for dessert. I think it's a good place to have dinner and relax. The food is also good quality, as is the prompt service from the waiters.

We had dinner here yesterday, Friday February 21, 2025, before a visit to the Carré theater. The restaurant is very attractively decorated, with beautiful walls and ceilings. We were kindly received by a young waiter who served us for the rest of the evening. The food is fantastic, truly authentic and tasty Italian dishes. We enjoyed an anti pasti starter with a delicious white wine. The cannelloni was freshly prepared and incredibly tasty. The dessert was also very tasty. Upon departure we were offered a delicious glass of Limoncello. The prices are very reasonable, we initially thought that our bill was incorrect because the amount was much lower than expected. Isola Bella is highly recommended if you want to eat delicious and authentic Italian food in the middle of Amsterdam. Thanks for a nice evening!

The food at Isola Bella was fine, but the portions were on the small side. The food was served quickly, which was nice. However, the service varied per employee: some were very friendly, while others seemed less hospitable.

Me and my friends had a tonno and a pepperoni pizza. Cheese was not good, not soft all the way and very greasy. 4/5 stars is way to much. Service was good tho.

If you like Italian food, run away! It’s clearly not Italian and the salt shaker fell into the pan. The pizzas are bland and not cooked and the ragù vida is very hard. The prices are excessive for Domino’s Pizza.

The lasgna and pepperoni pizza were lively but the real stars of the show were the desserts! The tiramisu was one of the best I had and the Zapaione truffle was to die for!! The staff was so lovely as well

I ordered the grilled chicken dinner, the chicken texture and amount of cooking time was perfect, absolutely no spices on the chicken and the broccoli was over cooked, all you could taste was onions, very disappointed.

Very disappointed with the food and service. Myself and two friends found the food to be bland. I had ordered a large sprite which was flat, when I pointed this out the glass was topped up but still flat, when I complained again was told it was out of bottles but never had sprite like this. My mate was charges €7,50 for water - ok on the menu but still very expensive for water. The Pollo Pasta dish was very bland and tasteless and most was left. My friend’s pizza lacked any source and again most left. The service was lacking and as above, we was left surprised how a complaint was handled.

An average Italian restaurant in Amsterdam. Pizza is a very nice choice. The chef is a real Italian who knows how to cook. Give it a try. You will love it.

Isola Bella es un buen lugar para una gran pizza italiana o plato de pasta en el corazón de Amsterdam. Siempre nos sentábamos fuera, ya que las mesas están protegidas por un dosel por lo que estábamos muy cómodos incluso cuando llovía. En su mayoría comimos pizza y pasta en este restaurante, y nos pareció que era un lugar bastante fácil y cómodo para comer durante las vacaciones. La ubicación del restaurante es en una gran plaza de colores donde se puede ver la vida de la ciudad de Ámsterdam pasar mientras se come. La comida era generosa en porciones y de buen sabor. No para aquellos que están buscando una buena cena, pero este es para familias y cualquiera que quiera comer buena comida mientras está en movimiento sin recurrir a llevar.

Le repas bof bof, pas vraiment mauvais (un petit citrate m'a quand même bien aidé à le digérer), mais pas vraiment bon non plus. Insipide, sans intérêt autre que de combler notre appétit. Vin du même niveau et je ne suis pas convaincu du coté maison du dessert. Tarif pas si bon marché compte tenu de la médiocrité de l'ensemble. L'exemple type du restaurant à touristes.

Good little Italian in a tourist spot serving authentic Italian food with sensible prices. Staff are friendly and helpful but I do feel that they took the piss a bit when I ordered pineapple on my pepperoni pizza and destroyed good Italian food. I did deserve it!

Set just off Rembrandt Place, this is a well established authentic Italian. This was our last dinner in Amsterdam and we had established that it is quite pricey. This, however was probably the best value of the places we ate at. Plenty of outside seating, but we chose to eat inside which was fairly quiet. We shared a bruschetta and followed up with penne salmone and tagliatelle pollo and finished with tiramisu. Everything was typically Italian, the decor, service and food, with the past being especially good.
