Fantastic breakfast experience, as usual. We stay at the Kimpton DeWitt every time we come to Amsterdam, and every time is wonderful. The staff at Celia are fantastic, especially Hugh and Rafael. All of the staff make us feel like we are coming home. Excellent service and spirit.

The food was excellent. Everything was very good. However, the portions were a little small for the main courses.

We had a wonderful dinner, especially the fish dishes, which were of high quality. The price was a bit high, though; we were a bit taken aback by the menu, especially since the portions weren't very large.

The food was good, but rather expensive for what you got. You have to order vegetables and fries separately. You expect them to be plentiful, but what you received was a minimal portion of fries. They ask if you want water with it before you've even looked at the menu. If you say yes, that's fine, you don't expect a €6.50 bottle to be brought to the table, while tap water in the Netherlands costs next to nothing and tastes the same. You don't expect that price if you've also ordered expensive wine. If you only order a main course and a dessert, you'll have just about enough. If you're a bigger eater, you won't have enough. The staff was friendly but only spoke English. I understand that's normal in Amsterdam, but if they ask your preferred language when making a reservation, I expect someone who speaks Dutch. Considering the price and the restaurant's decor, you expect a little more. The restaurant has a lot of potential, but there's still room for improvement.

We received a very warm welcome at Celia. We chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and were even offered a glass of champagne! All the servers were smiling and friendly. The food was delicious! From the appetizers to the dessert, we loved it! A real gem. Thank you for helping us have such a wonderful anniversary evening! 🩷

Excellent place for dinner. We went on a Tuesday and they had a special taco menu. The beer was very good and the atmosphere was perfect for the place. The prices were reasonable; I didn't find it expensive. I've attached a photo of the menu. The food came out of the kitchen quickly; there was no long wait. I would definitely eat here again on my next trip.

I stayed at the hotel for a week, and overall, it was a good experience. The staff is few but respectful and friendly. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not very diverse, but the chef is excellent and deserves appreciation for the quality of the dishes. I would also like to special thanks to Rafael and the team for their service.

For breakfast the omelette to order (an additional charge) was a mess (bad taste and presentation). Service was more slow and confused than most places in Amsterdam.

Calamari was honestly the best I've ever had in the Netherlands! I found the carne asada taco a bit bland. The meat was well-seasoned, but it lacked a sauce and some vegetables on the side. The service was very good and attentive!

📍Located in the city center of Amsterdam. Hidden in hotel Witt ground floor! 🪑design of the restaurant was nice. Nicely decorated. Ambiance was a bit different - hotel lobby mixed with restaurant vibes. 🛎️ Service was good - very friendly waiter and they take really good care of allergies!! 📋The menu did not have many options but we found something! 💰It is not pricy but we got a deal by reservation via TheFork 50% off in the food. So our total bill was only €37,50. 2 glasses of wine and 3 Starters. But the the starters were so big that we did not need a main anymore. 🍽️ I loved the calamari! They were fresh and perfectly balanced in terms of cooking and flavour. 🅿️ Difficult as it is city center Amsterdam. A lot of tram stations in front. 🚽Toilet was very clean with nice hand soap!

A nice place. The staff is friendly, though it was a bit annoying I was asked about 7 times if I wanted water. Probably because there's different staff tending each table. It's a good training in saying 'no' if you don't want to buy expensive water. There's very few vegetarian options, unfortunately. I had the mushroom taco's which the menu said would come with guacamole. It didn't. The waiter apologized and said it was a mistake that it wasn't taken off the menu (it used to have it on there). I didn't get guacamole, not even the question if I wanted it on there still. We did also order the nachos which came with a delicious guacamole and boring salsa. That made me regret not being more assertive and asking for the guacamole on my taco's. They were pretty boring tasting, the mushrooms were tough and stringy and guacamole would have improved the dish greatly. My friend enjoyed her fish dish and we shared a chocolate mousse for dessert that was very delicious.

I'm very disappointed and can't recommend it to anyone. The friendliness of the staff was positive, but we were warned when ordering that there would be a long wait. For starters, we had nachos. Unfortunately, they were rock hard and almost impossible to chew. The sauces were okay. For main courses, we had cheeseburgers and fish tacos. The tacos in the fish tacos were similarly hard and almost tore my girlfriend's gums open when she chewed them. The quality of the burger meat was okay, but unfortunately, one burger arrived medium rather than well-done. Only after consulting the manager was the burger exchanged. The fries waited lonely under the warming light for quite some time after the burgers were delivered. The waitress went to another table to take the payment. Eventually, the fries arrived, but only 3 portions instead of 4. Only after asking was a fourth portion brought. The burgers were extremely dry, with very little sauce, and the bun was rock hard. We were told that this is how it has to be. The hefty price of €23 doesn't represent a reasonable price-performance ratio. Quite the opposite. The ambiance is fine, but we were sitting in a very cold draft under the air conditioning. That wasn't pleasant. All in all... I can't really recommend the food or the service, and I can't confirm the many positive reviews.

Value for money: poor. Burger with a dry bun, no sauce at all, so it was completely dry, and instead of well-done, the patty was medium-rare. And for 20 euros. Service: Part of the food is served, and instead of bringing the rest that's already on the counter, an order is taken at leisure somewhere else. A portion of fries wasn't missing, but we had to point it out. Ambience: urban style. Nicely done. But the air conditioning was set much too cold. Too bad.

Came for breakfast during our stay at the Kimpton. Hugh helped us and was incredible! He was friendly, funny, and so kind. The foos was delicious I had an omelette with a beautiful side salad. The ambiance is nice too, lots of yellow decor. Would recommend!

We hosted our post-wedding brunch at Celia for 55 (mostly) international guests and couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out the weekend. The food was delicious, the bottomless drinks flowed, and the entire team was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive from start to finish. Our guests had such a great time and we received so many compliments on the atmosphere and service. Special thanks to Lieke for making the planning process smooth and stress-free. Celia was the perfect choice — highly recommend for any special gathering in Amsterdam!

Two to three months ago, we made a reservation for a bottomless brunch, specifically to celebrate a birthday in our group. Without any notice or call, the reservation was suddenly cancelled just two days before the scheduled date. We had to reach out to them ourselves to ask why it was cancelled. They told us that no bottomless brunches were being held in July. Strange, considering it was possible to book one for that month through their system. If they had known this in advance, they should have informed us much earlier. Very poor service.

Chef must have ran out of salt because none of the dishes had any, Chicken tastes like Costco chicken except drier. My steak was so tough I couldn’t cut it with steak knife. I don’t know where they get their meat but the steak had no flavor. Blend blend. And not salting it make it worse. The only thing we liked is calamari but even that was fried until dry. At one point, I got so angry and wanted to leave. What a waste of time, money and calories.

The Restaurant is an “American” restaurant. But what’s American food? And the restaurant is nice inside but they neighborhood doesn’t invite you to eat anything there. It’s like a nice restaurant in Times Square NY. You don’t wanna sit there.

Celia in Amsterdam is a fantastic spot for a stylish and flavorful night out. We started with a delicious burrata with fingered carrots, followed by a perfectly cooked Flatiron steak. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The interior is modern and elegant, making the atmosphere feel both chic and inviting. Service was friendly and efficient, and the timing between courses was just right. Prices vary depending on your choice, but the overall quality makes it well worth it. Highly recommended!

Best sea bass I have ever had. Gorgeous atmosphere, kind staff, incredible food.

The food is really good, I’ve enjoyed every dish a lot. Nice combination of ingredients and flavors. However the service is a mess. We had 3 different waiters taking care of our table and they are unable to communicate properly between each other. 1) They forgot to bring our drinks 2) They ask if we wanted to check the desserts when we didn’t even had our main course served yet 3) They forgot us when we finished our main and actually wanted to check the dessert menu (30min wait) 4) They took 40min to serve our dessert (a piece of almond tarte with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, really nothing that would require 40min in the kitchen) All staff members were nice and friendly but they should seriously rework their organization. It’s really frustrating when you are waiting to be served and see the staff laughing and sharing their life with other tables. I’ve nothing against a small wait, I’m French, I’m used to long dinner, but not a 1h10 gap between a main and a dessert.

The fish was delicious, the sweet potato as well, the kimchi potato millefeuille was also incredible but the cauliflower was too chunky, hard to eat. The calamari and the ceviche were the highlight starter-wise. The location of this restaurant is awesome and the service was fine as well! Well come back for sure. -1 for the burger and fries which could be revisited. The burger was hard to chew even if the meat was medium rare and the fries were not cooked enough so very soft. I would suggest to divide the patty in half and to make it a double cheese burger with smaller patties.

Very nice interior! Entrance is a bit of a search because it is not very clearly indicated. We only had the table next to the computer where they place orders so there were a lot of staff walking by. Also there is only English speaking staff. Food was good! Cocktails and wine on the pricey side unfortunately.. food on the other hand average price but there is not a lot of choice. The calamari was very tasty.

The food taste was good, but the burger was very dry and they didn't have much choice. Service was good, but I think the prices less than 26 euros for a dry burger are crazy. Atmosphere: nicely decorated but had the idea that it was wanna be chic.

Went with my wife for a romantic diner to Celia. We used the entrance around the corner NZ Voorburgwal 5 and from start we felt if we where on a foreign vacation trip. The atmosphere felt superb We had a very warm welcome, and a good table. The menu included some very special dishes like Burata with carrots, Shortrib and a wonderful grilled cauliflower with feta All with a nice glas of wine The service was great, and we enjoyed talking, eating, drinking. Time was not exciting. We surely will visit again

Elegant place and excellent food, an excellent reality in Amsterdam, I recommend the very good grilled sea bass and the potato pavé, friendly and good service, the only flaw is a little slow on the service but on a Saturday evening it can also be done, we will definitely return!

We have ordered a cote de boeuf (steak) and we got an unprofessionally cut lump of meat of which nearly half was just fat. Had a hard time convincing the staff that that is not how you prepare and serve a large steak and ended up having to send back the steak to order something else at the end.

I’ve been at Celia with my partner 3 times (or more?) already, the last one was for Valentine’s. As always, staff is amazing, food and drinks are excellent! We even got a complimentary dish from the server, which was really lovely and unexpected. This time we especially enjoyed the sticky pudding. Softness of pudding, slightly bitter dark beer ice cream and lots of homemade caramel: a match made in heaven 🤤

The experience at this restaurant was wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere enveloped us with its warmth and elegance. The food was simply delicious and truly special. The sauce on the fish was, without a doubt, the best we have ever tried—full of flavor and perfectly balanced. The meat was extremely tender, melting in our mouths, and the ceviche was excellent, with unmatched freshness and seasoning. Without a doubt, this is a place we will return to. The only improvement point would be the base of the cheesecake, not crispy enough for us.

Price-performance is simply right here. We went to the 5-course New Year's menu with eight people and we were all absolutely satisfied! The taste of the food was fantastic and the portion size was appropriate for a 5-course menu. Waiters always tried very hard.

We are a family of four who stayed at Kimpton and had breakfast in Celia every morning. Hugh and team (2 ladies and on the third morning, 1 guy) are incredibly kind and service was awesome. Service was personalised and they made the perfect start to our days. Kudos to Hugh and team!

I wish I could give less than one star for the experience my husband I just had here. Like many other reviewers on Yelp, we had a hotel credit to use and we eagerly planned to use it at this restaurant. We made a reservation at 8 and it was not full in the restaurant yet we barely had any staff wait on us. We ordered the calamari (not pictured), short rib, broccolini and cauliflower. While we saw the manager come out multiple time to check in other tables, multiple times our food came out from the kitchen and I watched it sit there and not be brought to us. Consequently, when our short rib was finally brought to us it had been sitting for five minutes and was inedible. We do not waste food and my husband I left more than half of the short rib on the plate. When our waitress cleared our table it was quite awkward because she did not even comment or ask how our meal was. After we paid and left, we spoke to the Kimpton DeWitt team and asked to give feedback on our experience. All credit to the wonderful staff at the Kimpton who heard us, speedily got the manager (who was the same waitstaff who did not check in with us) and rectified the experience. When we spoke to Jasper, the manager at Celia’s that evening, he heard us and said repeatedly it was not their intention while not offering any rectification for our subpar experience. I want to contrast that experience with our breakfast experience the next day at Celia. We had Evalina (name, spelling?) who was so thoughtful and engaged with all customers who came in. So much so that even when I sneezed she was right there saying bless you. She treated every customer with courtesy and respect. When we asked her her name she shook our hand and asked us if we wanted any drinks to go too. Service like that (mind you on a busy morning with the buffet) was such a stark contrast from our slow Sunday dinner experience. I want to make sure other diners are aware of the inconsistencies and the areas where the restaurant could improve.

My friend and I shared the Celia set menu which is a great way to taste all the good food at Celia’s and also if you have a hard time choosing! :) We had fried calamari, smoked mushroom taco, ceviche, short ribs and grilled sweet potato. Everything was yummy! It was a nice surprise to find a good restaurant within a hotel - keep the good food coming!

Food was incredible, the best burger I’ve had in years. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The only negative was €6.50 for a small bottle of water and being charged for two when only one was on the table… would recommend for anyone but make sure you ask for tap water!

I was looking for a lunch spot on Saturday and glad I chose this place. Everything from the start exceeded my expectations. I was greeted with a smile, offered to hang my jacket, given the choice of a Dutch or English menu, and offered water as soon as I sat down. I didn’t know they have a bottomless brunch, which was a pleasant surprise and something I will try in the future. The service was attentive and quick, the food and drinks were tasty, and they even had hangers for bags, a detail I truly appreciate. Giovanna ( I believe a manager) , stood out with her professionalism and warmth.

Cute restaurant with a relaxed vibe situated in a hotel in central Amsterdam. Ideal for a date or to celebrate an occasion. The menu options are limited but overall the food was good! I particularly enjoyed the fried calamari and the pumpkin burrata. Their unique offering, the blue taco mushroom was a bit underwhelming. For the main dishes, I ordered the pumpkin ravioli which was okay and the steak -we had to return it because it was undercooked on one end- but they quickly prepared us another one and it was delicious. For dessert, I tried the cranberry cheesecake and it tasted nice. Service was friendly and speedy! To sum up, It's worth a visit but not entirely memorable.

Food is not that tasty and very expensive. If you go for bottom lunch brunch, they hardly come to give you drinks. And the drinks are downright nasty too. I wouldn't go here.

As we know, a bottomless brunch, as otherwise stated on the website and outside the building, is a dinner with additional drinks for 1 price. Unfortunately, when we entered it turned out to only be 25 euros (p.p.) for limited drinks for which you still had to order food. (Mimosas, prosecco, bloody marys). The food and service itself was absolutely perfect, it's just a shame that the promotion is so misleading considering that a bottom lunch BRUNCH is offered for 25 euros, but in retrospect you still have to order food with it. Also because the building says “bottomless brunch” and “bottomless” drinks on the menu. Everything else was absolutely great.

I didn't think the price-quality ratio was in proportion. frugal small portions. Appetizer, fried rolls with sauce. no garnish. Same for main course, 2 small tortillas and some onions and tomato pieces. Also no offer to serve a side dish or anything extra. That's a shame, because it does taste good. Dessert (cheesecake) was better served. I don't need mountains of food, but this was meager. Even our business associate who brought us noticed it. Service somewhat haughty with a smile. No rebooking for me here.

Food was not really good. Other than that, they charged me 10 euros for adding chicken to the Caesar salad. It was also supposed to have an egg but it did not. Would not come back.

Quite a long waiting time for 3 pasta dishes which are not worth the €24. Indeed, for pasta with zucchini and water, we expected little wait or at least taste. Aside from that and the €6.50 for a bottle of water, the welcome is ok although not warm.

The food was tasty, the restaurant had a nice and cozy ambiance, the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a good choice for dinner when visiting Amsterdam.

I've been meaning to write this review as the experience that I had last week at Celia's still lingers. My partner and I decided to spend our 1 year anniversary here and we could not have hoped for a more welcoming reception from everyone in the team. The service that was provided by Debbie in particular was exceptional, she kept our glasses topped up and engaged us with her personality and storytelling. What also (of course) made our night was the food. The set menu gave us a variety of dishes to go through, though it was difficult choosing a wine to pair with both the fish and pork on the menu Debbie was able to recommend the Agro de Bazan which paired well with each dish. The highlights of the meal had to be the crunchy calamari and the decadent 66% Chocolate. For a romantic yet casual experience I would highly recommend going to Celia! -Mathijs & Luca

I had the smallest espresso martini I have ever seen. It almost came in a shot glass! Meanwhile my friend got a cocktail in the big martini glass! So it’s not like they didn’t have a proper glass - the bartender purposely choose this glass which is almost offensive , especially when the price for it was 16(!!!) euro ! More expensive then any of the drinks! When I told the waiter about it ,they just said “oh yeah you right it’s bad “ and left ! Really really disappointed as the place overall is nice and it sucks they ruin their reputation over such a small things !

Wow, haven’t had such a rude waitress for a long time. The way she communicated was SO RUDE. I have worked in hospitality myself for 6 years and this is truly not the way you treat guests at all. I have a peanut allergy and this was said beforehand during the reservation and she first gave me a dessert with peanut as a mistake. Then when my friend and I asked why I couldn’t eat certain desserts that clearly does not contain peanut she explained “the food may have traces… but hey, if you wanna eat it and take the risk then it’s up to you”. Instead, we had to ask if the reason was because it’s an open kitchen and that they don’t want to take the risk and therefore don’t recommend it. But the way she explained was so short and rude that I felt unwelcome because of my allergy. And the whole time she couldn’t even smile once, in Dutch we would say: “Er kwam geen lach vanaf”.

Poor service — had to wrangle someone to order, clear our plates (left sitting for 20mins), and the bill had additional items we did not order. Overall very slack. Glad we did not opt for bottomless brunch as I imagine it would have been hard to get refills. Food — poached eggs not runny, €14 Caesar salad was leaves, cheese and croutons (I chose not to add bacon as the menu said it had egg and anchovies — when I asked where they are I was told "in the dressing"), fries cold. Do not recommend. Perhaps if you want bottomless brunch and don't care about the food you will enjoy it.
