Bought a pretzel late in the day, and it was so stale and dry it was almost inedible. It's understandable to bake the pretzels in the morning, but the store should not sell them once they get that stale.

Horribly burned and dry chimney cake with holes in it. If you are looking for traditional chimney cakes this is not the place.

Perfect for 4 people or more. If you’re a tourist, I definitely recommend coming here. It’s super cozy, relaxing, and has a lovely atmosphere, and the freshly baked pastries in the morning smell amazing! Also there was something for everyone - they have a huge variety of choices!

I recently visited Chimney Cake Bakery & Café and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for enjoying a coffee and a sweet treat. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making me feel right at home from the moment I walked in. The chimney cake was absolutely delicious freshly baked, perfectly crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The variety of toppings and fillings offered something for everyone, and the presentation was beautiful. I also tried one of their specialty coffees, which paired perfectly with the pastry. I highly recommend this café to anyone looking for authentic chimney cakes, excellent coffee, and outstanding customer service. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

I came to this place with a craving for a good dessert, but I left really disappointed. The chimney cake was extremely dry and instead of having a decent taste, it was just sprinkled with some kind of bland pistachio powder. The result? It literally reminded me of eating old, dry pastries that you forgot to butter. If I compare it to the delicious, soft chimney cakes from Prague, where the dough itself has a great taste, this one unfortunately cannot be compared at all. I also gave the carrot cake a chance, but it had a strange and unpleasantly sour aftertaste for a change. When I add to this below-average quality of the food the fact that I waited quite a long time for the desserts, the verdict is clear for me. The price-quality ratio here does not work and I will not return here.

During our visit, we popped into this cozy bakery and enjoyed it immensely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was even allowed to borrow a pen, which might seem like a small thing, but it says a lot about the hospitality. The bakery has a warm and cozy atmosphere, and as soon as you step inside, the delicious aroma of freshly baked goods greets you. Furthermore, the prices are very reasonable and certainly not excessive. All in all, a nice place with good service, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. We suddenly had to stop somewhere, we didn't have much time to choose between places. But we didn't regret that this bakery was right there, if we are in Amsterdam again, we will definitely visit the place. :) The service was incredibly kind, and we weren't disappointed with the food either: freshly baked, tasty, warm filled pastries, the cookies and the coffee were also very delicious. :) Thank you!

Have been here pretty late today (1 hour before they closed) The cake I had after a recommendation was delicious, and the espresso is good and not acidic like the most espressi I had so far And the staff has a lovely attitude, which made the experience very pleasant I'll definitely come here again to try the chimney cake

Chimney Cake Bakery & Café is, without a doubt, one of the best gastronomic discoveries I've made. I had the pleasure of visiting them more than once while staying nearby and, honestly, if I stayed in the city for a thousand days, I would go to this café a thousand times! The service is excellent, extremely fast and efficient, which is great for starting the day with energy. Furthermore, the atmosphere is very welcoming and, despite its popularity, we always managed to find available tables, guaranteeing a peaceful and comfortable breakfast. The food options are varied and of the highest quality. The breakfast menu is very complete, with perfectly buttery croissants and delicious fresh baguettes. For those with a sweet tooth, the cakes are a spectacle in themselves; everything we tried was divine and had an irresistible homemade flavor. It's the perfect place for a quality meal with impeccable service. I recommend it to everyone!

I had a bad experience. The staff is unfortunately very rude and dismissive. I was here on a sunday afternoon and ordered the sugar cinnamon chimney with nutella. It took a few minutes to arrive (which is ok!), but it tasted very bad and was dry and kinda burned. I wasted 9 euros. The floor around the tables and food racks is also really dirty. I do not recommend this place.

They have an excellent selection of baked goods and sandwiches. The staff are truly wonderful and friendly, only reason I gave four stars is because I thought the caramel cheesecake i had was slightly stale, or perhaps not as fresh. I'd imagine it would have tasted so much better if it was freshly baked. I also had an Americano which was great. I think the key highlight in this place is the wonderful and friendly staff

Disappointing… I went today to get a stroopwaffle, because judging by the overall average rating, it was quite good. As a tourist, I wanted to try one of the country's typical specialties, but frankly, I don't recommend their stroopwaffle. A €7 pastry that's frankly not good (proof in the photo) – not even cooked and tasteless! It's almost like you're taking advantage of tourists! I went to Albert Cuypmark to try it again, and it was an excellent pastry and only €3. If you don't know how to make stroopwaffles, don't bother.

The food was great but you must feel bad for the two girls working there, as the workload for them is over the roof hence we had to wait nearly 1h for our chimney cake, which was still very enjoyable to eat

I have been to this bakery more than once and every time i had a positive experience. It’s so cozy and the girls working there are so polite and helpful. I had a muffin it was perfect. Also they give you cup of hot water for you to choose any tea from the stand. I love it and hope that i will come back again!

The food is quite good, but it's always very crowded. Getting a seat inside is only possible by sheer luck.

While I was in town, all my breakfasts were here and they were all impeccable. Fresh and warm food, friendly service, and a consistently clean place. I recommend it without hesitation!

Everything was realy tasty and the service was supreme. They let us put our Bikes inside so we could eat inside and don't have to freeze outside.

Do not order a coffee here - I watched the barista not clean the steam wand and it was really dirty. Cross contamination between milks. Also she was over steaming the milk and having no clue on airing the milk and blending. However the bakery goods are really great! Highly recommend the chocolate croissant!

Very disappointed with this place. The pastries I bought were clearly not fresh—the cream had already hardened. Furthermore, the ham croissants were lying out in the open without any refrigeration. The ham was visibly discolored, indicating it had been sitting there for far too long. You'd expect better for a bakery/café in this neighborhood. The hygiene really leaves much to be desired. Not recommended.

We had to wait 15 minutes for our chimney, when we got it, it was burned at the edges, really thin and small. You can’t call this a ‘chimney’ in comparison with the chimneys in Poland. It was self service and we didn’t even get cutlery, there was only one person working there which made everything slow. Don’t recommend

One of the best places to get a coffee in Museumplein in Amsterdam. If Leila is your barista then you are in luck. She is the best in the business and the coffee and hot chocolate from her is out of this world :)

I didn't think i'd find it here by accident, its great and tasty and the stroopwafel are delicious! Great proffesional service ! 😃 Also fresh baking stuff Like all the pastrys, i could also order freshly baked sandwiches bread which i could Bring with myself! So that's a really great experience here, also the morning was reslly quiet so i enjoy a lot .

The bakery stuff is ok, the coffee ☕️ is bad and service very rude and overloaded… they serve also in paper cups coffee and spoil the coffee so it is a bit messy… we asked for ceramic cups… they just dumped it

When we ordered the chimney cake, we were told to wait for 15 minutes as they were freshly made. It proved that the wait was worthy. The classic one was served warm with sugar on top, cream and coffee dices on the side. The coffee was so so but they do have plant based milk. Other pastries looked yummy too especially one loaded with pistachio cream. Sugar intake over this meal obviously exceeds daily suggestion but it was Christmas time - a timely excuse.

Good drinks for about 4€ each, but all the cakes are absolutely horrendous, worst cake we’ve ever eaten. They are not fresh at all, the cheesecake and oreo cake tasted like they were expired or there for weeks.

Nice atmosphere, it's near the museum so the location is very convenient, friendly staff and the hot chocolate was so tasty.

For seven Euro you get a very thin chimney cake that is overbaked and tastes like cardboard. Nice atmosphere, though, but for the real chimneycake you go to Prague.

I am happy for other costumers's experience, but ours was not very good. Wanted a takeaway chimney cake, but it was all thin and burned, as you can see in the pic attached. It tastes not at all like the original from Hungary. Maybe the nice ones they posted are done by the owners (all fluffy and delicious), because the girls - very nice although - press too much when putting it on the wood. Sorry, maybe it's just luck.

Honestly delicious! Came for a hot drink to get out of the cold and nothing disappointed. Do yourself a favour and grt a chimney cake (doesn't matter what flavour), it came out warm and was simply stunning! They're definetely big and rich enough to share. Will be back on our next visit!

Unpleasant brunette waitress! What's more, she cleans the cake display case with the same sponge she uses for washing dishes and touches the cakes with it! Avoid at all costs! Nice blonde waitress! The cake was too sweet and tasteless.

I wish I had a better experience. The staff was okay, not rude but definitely not friendly. We ordered coffee, cake and a chimney cake, which we were told takes 15 mins to prepare. The coffee was tasty, fresh and large. The cake was a bit dry, but still quite tasty- nice spice flavour. After 20+mins, we checked in with the staff and were told they had forgotten our order- they promised to start it immediately. We waited, but gave up at around 45 mins, although we could finally see our potential cake in the oven at that point (still not done though!). Overall, the staff were a bit unprofessional - one in particular was rather casual, and gave off the impression she didn’t want to be there. Cute store, but wouldn’t ‘t recommend if you want a good cafe experience. Based on the other reviews and our experience- despite the name, don’t order the chimney cake.

A very nice cage and bakery with a good Romanian cake made on the spot. It takes 15 min for a fresh cake. The staff was extremely kind. The combiner cake with pistachio and cream was very good. The lemon merengue pie was also very good.

Came here to enjoy a nice chimney cake, but unfortunately the experience was not good. Had to wait 30min to have the chimney cake, their signature dish...they said it would have taken 15min but in the end it was double that... And when it arrived it was totally overcooked, as it was cruchy and not possible to eat it by "unfolding it". The staff has also been quite rude, not smiling or saying bye when we left, quite a bad experience :(

I come here regularly for the superb raspberry macaron. Always to my complete satisfaction. Unfortunately, no macaron today, but a banana cake. What a disappointment. The bottom was rock hard. You couldn't even cut through it with your fork. For a good cup of coffee, this is the place to be. The espresso macchiato was excellent. It wasn't busy, so the four of us took up two tables. This was to the dismay of one of the staff members. Later, two women sat next to us and also took up two tables, but no one said anything. But I will definitely be back for the raspberry macaron. Question: Could the restroom be a bit cleaner and fresher?

I happened to visit the café on my last two consecutive days in Amsterdam while I was nearby. The bread was delicious, and the woman taking our orders was incredibly beautiful. I visited twice just to see her. I wanted to ask for her number, but I didn't have the courage.
