The staff were friendly, and they made our breakfast choice vegan. It was delicious and filling.

Really nice bakery, the products are very good. We did order the “bottomless tea” for two, it was a bit disappointing as it was just a kettle of hot water with 2 tea bags, we expected more given the price. The rest of the coffee’s and pastries were great, also enjoyed the atmosphere inside on a rainy day.

Early bird? Go to the Appie. They often can't make everything, and then you'll be there for nothing. Not just at 8, but also around 9. A disappointment every morning!

Their bread is delicious, but if you think you'll get service with a smile, you're wrong. Unfortunately, the self-important guy behind the counter is more occupied with a lost pair of tongs and rearranging bread baskets than with a customer in the store. Sadly, he forgets that the customer is paying for their peanut butter sandwich!

I picked up a to-go order that was too good, and the service was excellent, super friendly. I accidentally left a one-star review on the app, but the experience was actually very pleasant.

I bought a lemon tart, but it was just old. Tough dough, barely any lemon filling, and the meringue was inedible. Unfortunately, I couldn't return it to the store, so the trash bin ate it. What a waste of money!

Food is decent but the guy working there doesn't know how to close the boxes and everything fell on the ground

We got a sandwich here this afternoon and ate it on our doorstep. Very friendly and helpful young man who served us. Provided service that you don't often encounter anymore. Were pleasantly surprised.

Heel leuke ontbijtzaak, met veel keuzes. We namen een Parijs ontbijt (€14,75), yoghurt van Jersey koeien (€8,25) en verse jus d'orange. Dit was overheerlijk. Daarnaast was het personeel was heel vriendelijk!

Worst experience ever, upon request for lead time take out from shop 5-10 mins was told. In the end it took 35+ minutes for 2 very mediocre sandwiches. Apologies of guy serving many other customers first, while not working on my order because his co-worker had a break. High prices, terrible service, poor quality!

The service was very good, staff very friendly, atmosphere good but the food was not as good. Their most expensive breakfast was basically a piece of semi hard baguette and different chocolates that we could spread on it, and one piece of croissant. Very basic and almost no taste.

A great sourdough and a nice lemon sweet dessert.

I love their bread and buy it weekly, always fresh and excellent. Sandwiches with tuna or makerel are great lunch options. Pastries and jams are treats for weekends. I am definitely a regular and will come back.

Having lunch with friends from Paris after a visit to Amsterdam and the Albert Cuyp Market around the corner. + : location and atmosphere. Needs no explanation. +/-: the offer and the price. Little was available, what was there was cold and expensive. -: hygiene and customer friendliness. Products are packed by hand. The toppings are grabbed by hand to top the sandwiches. The egg salad is scooped by hand from a container and placed on the buns. All this without first washing your hands after clearing the tables, running your hands through your hair, smoking (blond lady who is always smoking in front of the door) and always wiping your nose (without a cloth). Tea in a glass!? and investing with green lawyer. A major drawback is that customers can hang from the raised floor over the area where the uncovered toppings are ready and the sandwiches are filled. It didn't seem very appetizing to me when first a child with her cuddly toy and then a gentleman with dandruff hung over the balustrade above the covering over that part. BAH! We were also not informed whether everything was satisfactory when we left everything.

Bakery with bread, pastries, coffee and juices with seating or to-go. Quite pricey and the pastries are okay. Staff friendly. Toilet available.

Finally after all this bad bread in Amsterdam, I found a bakery which taste awesome and has real bread!

Great selection of baked goodies and bread varieties ! The Dutch cookie ( marzipan almond paste ) is yummy . BUT - 1 cold, unfriendly , bordering on terrible customer service. 2. And the goodies on the menu are not consistently offered or available . We were the first ones one morning and the blonde girl responded to our hello with “ it’s early !!” The other time we were there, the blonde guy responded to our hello with “ you cannot sit down. I am closing soon!”. I was there to takeaway but he showed his displeasure to that as well . He was ok with the takeaway (white ) customer before me. Utterly lacking in courtesies and very rude !! Both times we went to that place , we were met with mannerless people at the store who made us feel unwelcome. The girl was curt and could do with much less attitude / eye roll. She was however pleasant with other white customers who stopped by, so it’s not for lack of knowing .

Bad oliebollen - too much cardamom, too bread-like/heavy

Got croissants this morning. These were cold and tough, clearly not fresh but yesterday. And that for 6 euros!!!

A loaf of bread for €9.10….Where is Amsterdam going :(

I really liked the olive and dried tomato bread

I know this place from a long time and I have usually no complaints regarding the food. This time the service was so terrible it made forgot even about what I was eating. We arrived in the afternoon, welcomed by dirty tables on the upstairs floor. As soon I as ask for a dish from the menu I have been informed that the place is a bakery open from the morning many dishes are not available or left. So I chose a tartlet from the window counter since also the grill is not working properly. Despite the poor food choice the service is even poorer. No napkins on the table, I have to ask for them and wait for 5 minutes. When I remark this thing while we're paying I've been informed that this is a bakery so I am not supposed to do any remark. That made me notice, since I'm in a bakery, that the two girls are working with long hair uncombed and one of the two has nails so long that she cannot even close a box without an help from her colleague. While we were eating the two went upstairs and had a look at the dirty tables while still laughing about my napkins request (in Dutch, believing that I do not understand a word) and decided not to clean, but just to open a window because in their opinion it was hot (they did not ask our opinion which was in fact the opposite). I believe that before working you should actually learn to work: this was not the case.

Food is tasty (albeit overpriced - €6.50 for a kids tosti!) but the service here is so poor. Such long waits for orders that do not even need to be prepared... staff uninterested in actually serving customers.

This was a nice little place, cosy and comfortable. I had the sausage puff pastry, hot chocolate and fresh orange juice. Young lady at the counter seemed to be training but she was very nice, placed our order and sat down. In less than 10 minutes it was ready, might be faster when she’s done training. Overall, would recommend for walking in. Pastry was light and nice, the hot chocolate was really good and orange juice was freshly squeezed. Taste was great!

Heerlijk gegeten en vriendelijke bediening, leuke sfeer en relaxed muziek op de achtergrond. Goede prijs kwaliteit verhouding en zeker de moeite waard om even de van woustraat voor in te lopen.

Lekkere koffie en goed broodje. Werd niet gelijk geholpen alleen, dat was jammer want er was genoeg personeel beschikbaar.

Absolutely incredible my boyfriend and I had here. I wish I could experience the first bite of my food again, I had the tuna sourdough meal. It was lovely and quiet when we visited. I am lactose intolerant and the staff checked all the ingredients within my food to make sure none of it contained milk. Thankyou so much!

Amazing breads, Bakery, pastries. Food and drink was brilliant. Main lady was very friendly and helpful with non Dutch speakers. Only reason not to give a 5 star: more staff needed, the two ladies were overun with demand from customers. Would recommend a visit at a quiet time.

Goede koffie, verse broodjes, vriendelijke bediening.

Wat een fijne, gemoedelijke sfeer hangt er in dit tentje. Ruime keuze aan ontbijt, lunch en 'snoep' gerechtjes. Wij konden niet kiezen en gelukkig hebben ze daar ook iets op gevonden: een plankje vol lekkere dingen, aangepast aan onze vegetarische voorkeuren. En de scones, die konden we ook niet laten liggen: verser dan vers! De medewerkers zijn vriendelijk, positief en meedenkend. Kortom: topplek!
