Would definitely recommend!!! Also would strongly recommend for dates... 😏

The food was delicious, mostly the sweet pork and braised eggplant! I think the menu and seats in the restaurant could be renewed. Beside that, all good! A lovely experience.

Tasty food, good service, but cramped interior

Absolutely fantastic! We ate here with ten colleagues. It was amazing, highly recommended. We were immediately given a nice, large table. The atmosphere was great. The service was also nice and fast; before we knew it, the whole table was full. We immediately ordered all kinds of tasty things to share. The food is 100% authentic and really incredibly delicious, and nice and spicy! Furthermore, I wouldn't put on a warm sweater haha; the temperature in the restaurant is quite high, and the spicy food does the rest, of course. But that's part of the experience! :P We would love to try the entire menu!!

I ate here again. The person serving the food and taking the bill has changed. It used to be a Sichuan auntie, but now it's someone with some kind of accent ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Judging by her skin, she looks like she's from a poor mountain area. I wonder how she got so radiant, maybe she had plastic surgery? She's so enthusiastic towards white people, but so indifferent to Chinese people. She doesn't know how to do business; she should just go out of business.

I should read the reviews before we ate there. It is June. They didn't use ac. We were sweating in there. it's unbelievable. The service gave us a big already multiple times refilled tap water bottle from passt, and changed us later for 8 euro.

Super slow service, ruined experience

Top spot! We had a fantastic meal at Sichuan with a group of 10 colleagues. Highly recommended! The food is incredibly tasty, nice and spicy, and everything is just deliciously authentic. Everything we were served was top-notch, especially when paired with a Tsingtao beer, of course. My tip: don't wear clothes that are too warm, because with the temperature inside *and* the spicy food, you're bound to get hot, haha! That didn't spoil the fun at all, though. I'm definitely coming back here another 20 times, because I want to try the whole menu!

Extremely disappointing for a Chinese resturant in the heart of China town. The food was edible but that’s about it. The noodles were greasy, oily and the meat was very sparse in the whole dish. I’ve never had a beef fried noodles with so much egg in before. The whole thing was just bland. The service was slow, the mouldy menus were off putting from the start. Expensive! 2 noodles and one thimble of coke €35… I’d avoid this place and try elsewhere.

Up there with one of the best meals I’ve ever had. We shared one of the fixed menus between three of us and every single dish was 10/10. The portions sizes were perfect. Staff were keeping busy and atmosphere was thriving. I await the day I return to Amsterdam and come back to eat here again! 👏

We had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. We were a group of five, but were asked to sit at a small table meant for four people. We tried to explain that it was too crowded, but the staff insisted we stay squeezed together. What made it worse was that even other customers noticed this and kindly offered to combine their table with ours after they finished. However, the staff still refused to allow it. We eventually brought an extra chair ourselves just to sit more comfortably, but another staff member came over, told us we should not sit like that, and insisted that we continue to squeeze together. We also felt the attitude was unfriendly, including eye-rolling from the staff. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and made us feel unwelcome. If you don’t want to do business with Chinese customers, you should just put up a sign at the door.

Truly one of the most bizarre dining experiences I’ve had.😄 We were a group of five and were told to squeeze into a table clearly meant for four. Even when another customer kindly offered to let us combine tables, the staff refused and insisted we stay cramped. Apparently, this is their “standard” way of seating five people — very impressive logic. What’s even more remarkable is how inconsistent the staff were. Two servers gave completely different instructions, yet both seemed equally confident. During the conversation, one of them even rolled their eyes, which really elevated the level of hospitality. The highlight, though, was the menu labeling certain dishes as “must-order.” It’s quite ironic to promote items in that way while delivering such dismissive and unfriendly service. If certain customers are genuinely not welcome, it would be far more honest to simply say so instead of creating such an uncomfortable experience. The spicy chicken, which was described as having two chili levels on the menu, was surprisingly mild. Moreover, it lacked dried red chili, which is a key ingredient.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the food is very tasty. The portions are quite big and really filling. We went there as a group and shared the dishes, but we still had to really try hard to finish everything :)) However, if you prefer lighter seasoning, you should let the staff know, because one of my friends said the food was a bit salty. Personally, I like salty food, so I found it really delicious, especially the fried rice, which was very flagrant

A Chinese restaurant offering typical Sichuan cuisine. We were seated at a table somewhat secluded, which made conversation with the servers difficult. The dishes were decent but nothing extraordinary. The menu is enormous, making it hard to choose. The food quality and atmosphere were mixed. Nothing exceptional.

We came here because the others had such a long waiting line. We ordered mixed vegetables and Peking duck. Unfortunately, the duck was disappointing—it was very dry and seemed to be simply deep-fried. I would recommend trying one of the neighboring restaurants where the ducks are hung for roasting; they look much tastier!

This was the first time I tried the Sichuan cuisine, so I can't compare it to anything similar but I can say the dishes were tasty. Between two people we shared the eggplant, palace fish and some rice. The Sichuan pepper has such a fragrant kick of spice that I loved. The dishes were flavorful, a tad greasy and oily for my personal taste— but I can't dock points because of that as I don't know how it is meant to be. The restaurant atmosphere was okay, the menu's did look old and stained, the bathrooms were in need of maintenance in my opinion. Overall might come back for the food, not the ambiance.

Superb authentic Szechuan cooking for low prices. We eat there frequently and love it and it doesnt break the bank. Everything is fresh, fragrant and well prepared. My favourites are crispy beef, beef jerky and the best noodles I ever ate. We lived in China for three years, this would be top dining there too. And very healthy food too. Had a flue, ate there, instantly felt better and flue disappeared. No heavy feelings. Just light.

I confess that at first I hesitated to go in when I saw the rating (3.9), considering there were other Chinese restaurants nearby with more stars. My mistake. Reviews don't reflect the quality of the place at all. This is authentic Chinese food, and yes, some dishes are spicy. But that's not a flaw; it's part of its identity. If a dish on the menu lists two chili peppers, you have to understand that the spiciness level is designed for local palates, not Western ones. It's perfectly logical that it's spicier than many are used to. If you don't like spicy food and still order spicy dishes only to complain later, perhaps this restaurant isn't for you… and that's perfectly fine. But it's not fair to judge a place negatively for being true to its cuisine. I loved the food, the flavors, the authenticity, and the experience. I will definitely return, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try real Chinese food, not watered-down versions.

We ordered a grilled fish for 46.8 euros. When we paid the bill, they said, "Two people only ordered one dish? What's wrong with two people ordering a grilled fish?" The fish had no flavor at all, and the soup was just hot pot broth diluted with water.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. When we arrived, the staff instructed me to place my umbrellas in the gold stand by the entrance. Unfortunately, due to several service issues, we ended up leaving in a rush to catch our flight and accidentally left them behind. The service throughout the visit was extremely poor. Our order was taken incorrectly, we waited a long time for food, and tables who arrived after us were served first, even though we had explained we were in a hurry to make a flight. When the food finally arrived, we weren’t even given knives, forks, or napkins and had to ask for them while our meals were going cold. It took them a while to provide so! Afterwards, I called multiple times to ask if the umbrellas had been found and whether they could be shipped to me (at my expense, as I live abroad), as they had been expensive. Instead of any attempt to help, staff repeatedly hung up on me or told me to return to the restaurant despite me explaining that I was no longer in the country. The responses were dismissive and rude. I understand mistakes happen, but the complete lack of customer care and basic courtesy was very disappointing. Based on both the service during the meal and the handling of this situation afterwards, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Instead of any help, staff were dismissive, rude and kept repeatedly hanging up or telling me to come back to the restaurant, ignoring the fact I was no longer in the country. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially considering their rudeness. I believe that we, as paying-customers, should be treated well and this restaurant definitely did not deliver this. I did not give zero stars because, unfortunately, it is not possible.

We arrived at 9:40 pm on a Saturday night. As tourists, we didn’t know the exact opening or closing hours, so seeing people inside, we politely asked if we could have dinner. We were told, “okay, but be quick.” As much as one can “be quick” while having dinner, I have never experienced anything like this before. Just two minutes after our plates were served, a waitress came to our table asking for the bill while we were still eating. The restaurant was half full, and of course one might want to order dessert or something else, but we were asked to pay immediately. I paid, with disbelief and frustration. To make things worse, despite having already ordered a bottle of sparkling water and a glass of wine, I asked for a simple carafe of water. The waitress reacted with visible annoyance and looked at me with clear disdain, as if I had asked for something outrageous in a Michelin-starred restaurant. Reluctantly, she brought a single glass of tap water. While I was still eating and my plate was far from empty, they kept coming back asking if I had finished so they could take it away. Eventually, before I had even finished my meal, I was told that the restaurant was closing and that I had to leave. I find this attitude completely absurd and deeply rude towards customers. If you don’t want to serve people because the kitchen is closing, just say so and don’t accept them in the first place. Hospitality is part of this job, and none was shown here. For this reason, I give one star. The staff’s behavior would actually deserve zero. The food itself was good, but the experience was completely ruined by the unacceptable service.

Wow. A real hidden gem!! Tried to eat at a well known Chinese restaurant nearby but was turned away do to not having a reservation. We stumbled across this place and it was busy inside which was a good sign. We had a short couple of minutes wait to be seated and we didn’t wait long to have a menu and order drinks. We orders a bowl of rice, sesame sweet and sour chicken and a sizzling beef hot pot. It has to be the best Chinese food we have ever eaten. The customers who sat next to us recommended this dishes and it didn’t disappoint. The price was reasonable as they were big portions. One dish could feed 2 people easily. The only downside is there were no prawn crackers but that is a small price I’ll pay to eat there again.

I ordered spicy tofu which was Ok, but not spectacular. Firstly for a spicy dish it lacked flavor or spice. The tofu was rubbery and chewy. DO NOT ORDER the spring rolls. I noticed the patrons before me did not eat theirs. Unmoved, I ordered shrimp spring rolls.. It was mainly and mostly fried spring wrap with almost nothing a inside. I certainly didn't see or taste any shrimp.. now I know why the other customers didn't eat theirs. Lastly, I really don't like to be taken in for a fool by a restaurant. I asked for a glass of water, NOT bottled water.. they brought a tiny water bottle at a cost of £3.50..so BE AWARE... I let it go, but I won't be going back. Recommend you try other places nearby. There are many.

A beautiful Chinese restaurant in the heart of Amsterdam. A truly extensive menu, offering a wide selection of meats, rice, and fish, all seasoned in a variety of ways. The interior is charming. Highly recommended.

I understand that this is a tourist place and the owners probably don’t care about what I write. Still, this restaurant was extremely dirty: spider webs all over the ceiling and the menu covered in mold. There was a pleasant smell of freshly cooked food, so I decided to give this place a chance. The waitress came and took the order very rudely. I didn’t even have time to finish ordering before the menu was literally pulled out of my hands. As for the food: Soup #1 — the noodles were slimy, like mucus. Soup #2 — completely unsalted and overboiled. The rice was never brought at all. We ordered three beers, one water, two Peking ducks (I strongly recommend going to nearby restaurants where the ducks are hanging — they are much tastier), and chicken unagi. The total bill was €130 — the price of a decent restaurant. But this Chinese restaurant is just a dirty eatery where you’re even afraid to wash your hands.

20 euros for a plate of quite mediocre Chinese. Regardless of using the sichan name, not at all spicy. Go to Xi'an instead.

Good, authentic food. The service was friendly, despite the language barrier. We easily got a table for four people and two dogs. The food is freshly cooked. The price-performance ratio is okay. The restrooms are rather old and need renovation. The stairs leading to them are also a bit risky.

food was okay, i've had better. shame the waitresses were extremely rude. i was a solo eater and wanted something to eat before my flight. when i sat down, they were laughing at me and looking. little did they know, i understood them. it also took them 40 minutes to collect my payment as well (i was the only one in the restaurant). shame on you, manners cost nothing.

It is the first time I eat in a Chinese restaurant, with a group of friends during my trip to Amsterdam, I really loved the food, and the service is good, though place not spacious.

The waitress had AirPods in. The service left much to be desired; no "please" was said, nor was anyone wished a pleasant meal. The staff didn't talk, they shouted. The menu and the restroom really need a wipe down. The food did taste good, though.. To pay the bill, we had to walk towards "Privé"...

A sure bet for good food and good service

I am obsessed with this restaurant in the red district. We went for a delicious Chinese food and we were able to share different plates. They have a very extensive menu for all sorts of diets and we really enjoyed the sesame chicken. It was delicious. Also, we ordered some Mandarin beef with was absolutely great no spicy and we order also some pork fried rice, which was delicious. I love how quick and fast they serve the food and I also enjoy the environment of the restaurant. People are very kind and they’re very serviceable so definitely would recommend this place and have a good time

Biggest menu ever! It’s a photography book 😍 we had sweet and sour duck & pot stickers. Both delicious. I LOVED THE SAUCE. Lots of Asians + full restaurant = good sign and I think the main local fav is the, first photo - fish soup in the menu. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

We were at this restaurant on Sunday after 9 pm. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table – so, not that long. The food arrived incredibly quickly, but everything was so greasy and spicy that you might as well just order a rice subscription. The restaurant itself was stuffy, even though it was a pleasant 15 degrees Celsius outside. And the restrooms… well, let's just say they were like something out of the darkest corners of Marseille 🙈 Overall – mixed feelings. For 4 people with beer – 200 euros.

The traditional Chinese cuisine was excellent; the dish stayed hot (perhaps a little too hot) throughout the meal. The dishes, selected based on the suggestions, were delicious. However, the restaurant was stiflingly hot.

We really regretted not discovering this restaurant earlier during our visits to Amsterdam. We were there last Saturday evening, and of course it was busy—though not in popular locations—but it was cozy and the service was friendly. We found the menu a surprise, both in its presentation and content, and most importantly, it tasted excellent. We were lucky to get the last table with a view of the kitchen, and when we left, there was a long line of customers waiting outside, which speaks volumes.

The taste was okay, but the price was high, about ten to fifteen times the price of a typical Sichuan restaurant in China. A bottle of water cost 8 euros.

The restaurant is very small and quite cramped. I find the menu rather expensive considering the quality of the food and especially the service! We ordered an appetizer which arrived at the end of our main courses. The side dishes arrived a good 10 minutes before the main courses.

A Chinese restaurant in central Amsterdam. The Chengdu beef was overcooked and very dry, almost bone-hard. The food was also overly sweet. The chicken was the same. I ordered spicy, but it turned out to be very sweet. The crispy Peking duck was really tasty and well-formed. The beef noodles were also not bad. The Chinese beer was a bit acidic, with a cola-like consistency. Overall, the food was average, with moderate flavor. However, the sweets were overly sweet and meant as desserts. The portions were filling, and the prices were mid-range. It would be nice if they could also focus a little on cleanliness. The staff was friendly, helpful, and polite. I recommend going with someone who understands Chinese food.

So happy with the quality of our food! It was delicious, spicy and flavorful as I expected of Szechuan cuisine! We ordered the cucumber salad, twice cooked pork and the spicy wonton soup with rice. Everything was great! There was some confusion with our order so they sent us the wrong drinks and forgot our cucumber salad but we reminded them and they brought it in. Happy to have tried this place and I would come back!

The food is really good, we didn't order anything too spicy, but I think you should be aware of that if you're not used to that kind of thing. A little noisy, but nothing to point your finger at.

Revisited after a few years. Unfortunately very disappointing. Food is extremely bland for Sichuan cuisine, not much flavor. Chongqqing chili chicken remains the best pick but still veeeery mediocre. Won’t be back unfortunately

The food was luxurious! Super flavorful. And even some gluten free. Nice service. The place had its own charm 😊 we will definitely come back on our next visit to Amsterdam.
