Top restaurant with good takeaway options

Having a lovely holiday in the Ommen area, after a long day we grabbed a Chinese rijsttafel from this restaurant for 2.50 euros. Well, the staff was friendly, but the food was barely enough for one person. A real shame; normally I eat from this Chinese rijsttafel for two days, but not at this restaurant.

We picked up the weekly menu today. I found the nasi tasteless and not warm. It looked just like it had been reheated. There were brown pieces in it.

You are certainly welcomed hospitably. It is a small restaurant. The refilling was disappointing. The sushi was not what I was used to. I missed some things. The hostess was so friendly that at one point I actually thought there was one more person than we were. We have eaten here once now and that was more than enough.

We had another delicious meal there. We were also there 2 years ago during our holiday in Ommen, and the service was friendly too. Very extensive buffet, both hot and cold, and you can also have food cooked on the griddle right there. We are definitely going to eat there again this week.

We had a delicious meal from the extensive buffet (41.00 p/p incl. drinks, coffee, and dessert) after a long bike ride. We don't eat meat, but there was more than enough choice for us too. Everything tasted fresh; delicious broccoli, fried mushrooms and green beans, fruit, and a wide selection of fish. The prawns were expertly fried right on the spot. The restaurant has air conditioning, which is nice on a hot day. The staff was very friendly and attentive. A top-notch restaurant for a very good price.

The location is fine, next to the campsite. And it is the only Chinese restaurant in Ommen. However, it is not a very good Chinese restaurant; the portions are small, the taste isn't great (supermarket taste with a lot of salt), and there is a lot of sauce with little substance, while it isn't cheap. There is no wok, and unlimited babi pangang isn't really what you want. The staff is unfriendly and inflexible if you want to adjust a specific dish or combo meal. They are mainly making money off the nearby campsite guests, and to those campsite guests I would say: just walk across the Vechtbrug for the food and drink options, including restaurants, a pizzeria, and a supermarket.

Always nice to spend time here... Still has a real restaurant feel, and it's quiet and cozy. Better than all those "food halls" where it echoes with screaming kids.

As a guest, you are warmly welcomed. Cozy decor, friendly atmosphere. Compliments to the chef who calmly prepares delicious fish and meat dishes. Furthermore, there is a sufficient choice of other Chinese dishes, for starters, main courses, and desserts.

Tonight, we spontaneously decided late to go eat at Chinatuin. They were about to close, but we were allowed to stay for another hour. A lot had already run out, but at our request, they made all sorts of things for us. Even when we were sitting there all alone and they were already clearing up. A solid 10 earned for the service tonight.

China Tuin Ommen is exactly what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. Extensive menu, friendly service, and a fully Chinese-themed restaurant. The food is fine. Takeaway is very popular. Reservations are not a must.

At first glance, the price of almost €42 per person for a two-hour "all you can eat" dinner on the weekend might seem daunting. However, this price includes all drinks, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic (beer or wine). Furthermore, a chef prepares fresh meat or fish directly at a grill counter (teppanyaki) – as often as you like. The food quality is good, average – not outstanding, but certainly not bad. The selection is varied, and there should be something for everyone. The ambiance is quite pleasant, but other Chinese restaurants are often more attractively furnished with Asian decor.

Ordered a Chinese Indonesian rice table for 27 people. We were able to pick it up within an hour. The food was excellent and more than enough! Definitely recommended!

Small Chinese restaurant. Many buffets are available. A teppanyaki plate with a wide selection of meat and fish. The quality of this menu deteriorates rapidly as it gets busier. Sushi is available, but the proportions are lacking. Way too much rice. Plenty of desserts and variety. Nice beer on tap and ample seating. Great atmosphere, not a massive all-you-can-eat shop, which enhances the overall ambiance.

There's no discount for people with gastric bypass surgery, which is fine. But if you eat very little, €40 is too much. I won't be going back.

I had a wonderful meal here. I must admit there was a bit less selection than at an average Chinese buffet, but that's perhaps for the best. I'd rather have fewer choices with good food than an abundance of dishes where the quality deteriorates. Drinks are also included in the price, which makes it all the more appealing. By the way, regarding those who have had a gastric band or gastric reduction: first, someone eats themselves into obesity, then they're offered a collectively paid medical procedure, and then they expect a discount. Old-fashioned 'cliché' Chinese-Indonesian restaurant. It looked like this fifteen years ago and will probably still look like this in fifteen years. But hey... the quality of the food is fresh and acceptable. That matters to us. It does leave something to be desired in terms of originality, as do the (not very large) portions you get. Still, we always enjoy having a bite to eat here with the family whenever we are visiting in or around Ommen.

We went to this restaurant yesterday. It looked appealing in the pictures, but inside, we were very disappointed. The food wasn't what we're used to from Chinese restaurants. We've eaten at the wok before, but this wasn't up to par with the other wok restaurants we've been to. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it to others.

We've rarely had such an unpleasant experience in a restaurant as we did at De Chinese Tuin. In fact, this was without a doubt the worst experience ever. We had reserved a table on a Saturday at 5:30 PM and were even the first guests to arrive. A friendly young employee politely showed us to our table and calmly explained the concept. So far, it seemed like a good start. When we then walked towards the buffet to get a drink, the atmosphere changed abruptly. Out of nowhere, a visibly irritated woman (presumably the manager or owner) rushed over to us, shouting at her own employee: "Those people shouldn't be sitting there!" and making several other snappy remarks. The way she addressed us was downright rude. Instead of calmly correcting a possible mistake, we were met with a hostile attitude and accusatory tone. The restaurant was practically empty at that moment, except for one other couple. Yet, she made no effort to resolve the matter in a normal manner. On the contrary, after her initial outburst, she walked away, returned a little later with the same unpleasant attitude, and openly blamed her coworker. When we let her know we found this approach unacceptable, we were eventually annoyed and told, "My apologies, but I can't do anything more for you." In other words: we had to leave. I actually wanted to waste some more time on it, but we ultimately left, stunned, not by choice, but because we were simply shown the door. The atmosphere was cold, the customer service downright rude, and the way the staff were treated left us feeling embarrassed on our own. We didn't taste any of the food, and honestly, after such a reception, we had completely lost our appetite. Afterwards, we were just glad we could choose an alternative. The food may be good, but this experience strongly suggests that customers are seen as a nuisance rather than as guests. Never again for us.

Nasi and bami was really bad. So, straight from the container was roughly 'inedible'. Fortunately I could still adjust it with ketjap, onions, eggs, sambal Brandal and extra herbs. The large spring rolls looked nice and crispy. Unfortunately I didn't have a large chopping knife and chainsaw at hand. Furthermore it was all a rather bland affair. As far as I know they also sell Babi Pangpang? I think they mean Babi Pangang. It is clear that old Malay is not their language. So this was the first and also the last time I order a meal there!

Every year it becomes less and less at China garden. The quality of the buffet has deteriorated. Plates and coffee cups are dirty. Meager desserts, and rancid rinse water with the ice cream scoop. Plates are hardly ever picked up, the ladies have a lot of fun among themselves and chat away! What's really gross is that people are allowed to bring their dogs inside! This was my last visit. Too bad, it was always a top tent.

Looking for somewhere to have dinner, we ended up somewhat by chance at China Garden, and what a lucky find it was! Despite the challenge of finding an open restaurant on a weekday, China Tuin turned out to be a real gem. It was a quiet evening, which meant that the friendly staff had plenty of time for us. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our experience extra special. Although the restaurant offers a buffet on busier days, we had the pleasure of ordering from the menu. Each dish was a flavorful discovery, perfectly prepared and presented. I would like to express my appreciation for China Tuin. Their delicious food and excellent service deserve a big compliment. For anyone who finds themselves in Ommen and is looking for a wonderful culinary experience, I highly recommend China Tuin. Thanks for an unforgettable evening!
