Chinees Indisch Wok Restaurant "Xiang Man" in Wijk 01

We had a wonderful meal with a group of six. We ordered three different rijsttafels (rice tables) and enjoyed sharing. The portions were just right—not too much, not too little. The staff deserves a big compliment; they were very hospitable! We'll definitely be back!

I'd like to respond to Elje Hulsebos's review. We think it's unfair of you to portray our restaurant this way. You did indeed call us and complain. Even though we don't recognize ourselves in this situation, where you claim to have been ill, we still offered you a voucher for your order. It was a busy Sunday, but no other guests experienced this, so we're asking if you're sure it wasn't due to something else. Furthermore, isn't it a bit strange that you didn't call us immediately, but only two days later? We're sorry you're trying to smear our name in this way. We tried to help you as best we could, but it seems like you're trying to get freebies, and we don't like that.

Bad service. Picked up food here on Sunday, and by the evening the whole family was seriously ill and vomiting. When you call the restaurant, the owners are arguing on the other end of the phone, and what do you get? A gift certificate? What do you think? The food was bad, which it turned out to be, and do you think I'll order from you again? No way!!!! I didn't agree with this; I didn't want a gift certificate and wanted my money back. I also had to have proof from the doctor that it was food poisoning :( ... or if there's a test for that, oh well... Then the owner came on the phone and I couldn't understand her. I told her so, and she hung up the phone right away. Be thankful someone called. Then you can do something about it and not use the excuse "it was busy." If you try to fix it, you'll get a bad rap. Never order food from here. That's no way to treat people.

All you can eat, a real challenge!! 5 courses, with a choice of 3 appetizers per course. We didn't manage that. Very filling, but great to be able to sample and try everything. The service was friendly and helpful. Despite being alone at first, everything went very smoothly. Later, her mother helped, and everything went smoothly. I highly recommend it, and all for just €24, excluding drinks. We had a wonderful evening.

We had such a wonderful time! For €19, there was a buffet only on Saturday evenings. With ice cream and a delicious variety of food. It was fantastic, and the staff gave us a 10 out of 10. So friendly. A truly warm welcome. Highly recommended!

Good chef, fast and friendly service, great waiting area for take-away

Great Chinese takeout place. We went from Landal Coldenhoven to pick up our food specifically here. A nice menu with good value.

Like all Chinese restaurants, it was simple, old-fashioned, and small. All you can eat, dinner for a fixed price of 20 euros, so inexpensive. We hadn't noticed beforehand. You can also order from the menu. There was plenty of choice, and it was well-stocked. Unlike the larger giants, it was just a basic Chinese meal that tasted great.

Yesterday's buffet was fantastic. A lot of things went wrong in the past. They're back in full force.

Recommended! We had it delivered to the harbour. Everything went as agreed. And right on time! The food was delicious! Really! Well-filled noodles, monthly menu. And the pisang goreng to lick your fingers. Friendly people too! Everything neat and clear! So great!

Really nice staff. Afterward, we all agreed that the food was unfortunately nothing. We're very sorry to write this, but the food was absolutely nothing – the tomato soup and tomato sauce were extremely sweet, and the vegetables were completely tasteless unless you put Maggi on them. We got some food for a friend, and she didn't eat it either because it was inedible. "Bami noodles" with a slice of ham... Oh man, I've never seen that before.

Disappointing quality of the daging smother. No sauce, but a watery gravy. Meat was big chunks of fat. Everything was also very salty. The other two dishes were ok, but not what we are used to. In the past it was great to get food, the last few times it was disappointing. This was the last time.

Very tasty, good price, large quantities

It was fine with the previous owner, but now it was really disappointing. The service was bad. The waitress had no teeth and made kissing noises to a child at the table next to us while she was taking our order at our table. She was eating and that made her talk to us with her mouth full. We didn't get any soup and had to ask for it ourselves. We had a buffet, so soup was included. The food was often cold or gone. After asking, some was added, but not everything. The satay was even put in a bowl that previously contained another dish. For those with allergies... ouch! We had to ask for drinks ourselves, and the nameplates on the dishes were incorrect. Too bad, because it was always good here. Hopefully they improve it again.

We had a delicious meal here, opted for “all you can eat”. This is not on the menu, but I read it online so I asked about it. We received a card where we could select 3 dishes each for 5 rounds. The portions are actually too big, we only ordered 3 rounds of hot food and round 4 of ice cream because we were really full. So highly recommended. Friendly service.

This restaurant was taken over at the end of 2023 and there was little left of the quality and then you will not survive for long. Fortunately, from Q3 2024 a new family will hold sway. In one word TOP! Good and tasty food and friendly staff! So ignore the reactions from the period Q1 and Q2 2024 and just walk into a good Chinese again!

There is nothing to complain about the quality of the food, which is great, but...... there has recently been a new menu and the chef is apparently not aware of it. Huh? We ordered a Chinese rice table for two people but received completely different dishes than were on the menu. People were prepared to prepare everything again, but guys, communication, start with that. This restaurant works very hard, but the foundation is shaky. How difficult is it to involve the chef in the new menu? The food is great, make the most of it!

Picked up food as a camper passer-by. Definitely recommended, very busy at 5:30 PM but didn't have to wait too long. Food in abundance but everything very fresh, crispy and juicy. This is what these types of restaurants should be, but unfortunately rarely are anymore. Not surprising but just very good. Definitely recommended.

Saturday evening was very nice with the family. What do we do with food? Putting pizza in the oven for 11 people is impossible. Let's get Chinese. Wishes inventoried and off to Xiang Man. Waiting time, given the variation in wishes, short. Came home with 11 people and had a nice meal. A revelation for the children who come from other parts of the country. This Chinese is much better than their "home-town Chinese" We don't know any better, because Xiang man is our home-town Chinese. Compliments from the children (and grandchildren).

Welcome to Doesburg's most disgusting "restaurant". First of all the "food": a very nice idea that you keep the chicken in buckets on the floor, open and exposed. This way you can show your children what a chicken looks like without feathers. The service is very nice. The clown of an owner has no teeth, she doesn't speak Dutch and winks at every man and most women like to notice that their man is liked by a non-Dutch speaking (slightly smelly) woman. Fortunately, 2 of them do speak Dutch. The boy and girl aged 15 to 16 who are not on the payroll, but are paid in cash every evening. Furthermore, parking is easy, because the "ThuisBezorgt" car itself is constantly parked on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant, so you cannot see outside 30 cm. It is better to sit at the back, then you have a view of their garden, where the freezers lie on their sides and forest fires can regularly be seen. Been several times, disgusting restaurant that gets worse every time.

What a wonderful dining experience here with the current chef and the mainly Dutch staff. I ordered a meal with a 'difficult' request: Babi bacon with Chinese noodles (delicious thin noodles) with the additional request: Babi bacon nice and fatty (if I want lean meat I order something else😉) and fried a little softer than normal . The Babi bacon was cooked perfectly, taste excellent. The Chinese noodles were richly filled, a feast for the eyes and tasted delicious! I haven't had better Chinese noodles here in Doesburg (Ping was a big fan of too much bean sprouts in Chinese noodles). I haven't been here for at least 9 months because the quality wasn't very good with the owner after Ping. But what the current chef has now produced in terms of delicious food deserves all the praise!🥇, and all with friendly and benevolent service👍🏻. I have found my Doesburg dining address again!

Have been coming here for years to eat or take away in the restaurant. Always excellent and delicious! Since Ping's departure, things have of course changed, including a different chef who gives a slightly different taste to the dishes. But still just good. The new Chinese owner is friendly and helpful. Nothing wrong with the largely Dutch service. All in all, just a good 'traditional Dutch Chinese'. I'll keep coming.

Great old fashioned real Chinese restaurant. From the waiting area (separate collection), the red leatherette upholstery, the facade, the advertising, the layout, everything was a flashback to the 70s, 80s and 90s of the last century, when there were still guilders and people were a lot nicer to each other. I love it! Food, yes, as you expect and even better. Just good. Prices can also almost be called old-fashioned. I've discovered a new favorite place to eat in my area!

Really very bad!!! Everything was floating in the soy sauce, the shrimp tasted like nothing! Incredibly dirty! I left, my husband and our friend stayed out of decency and also thought it was bad. Still paid 120 euros. Incredible!!! We wanted to have a nice evening with good food, but that was certainly not the case!

We had a buffet here with the family. The tables were nicely placed together. Really nice meal. Everything was very well prepared and delicious. Real quality. Delicious tomato soup. Friendly service. This was a great restaurant, now it's worthless. Taken over by another owner and thus from top to flop. A threat to my health. Everything at the Tjap Tjoy was way too raw, the Babi Pangang had no taste. The rest wasn't good either. Definitely not Chinese worthy!!! Are you thinking of having a nice meal with the family... Completely ruined Christmas dinner, and not being able to sleep at night due to serious stomach problems. This was really the very last time here!!!

Since Ping left, the food and everything has become very dirty, there are large bones in the food and the rice is very hearty and dirty, the peanut sauce is watery and the noodles were dry and the staff who do their work do not speak Dutch.

Wat fijn dat er nog een Chinees restaurant is zoals we die al zo lang kennen. Vriendelijke en snelle bediening. De kwaliteit en hoeveelheid van het eten is zeer goed. En de prijzen heel redelijk voor wat je krijgt.

Het eten was prima smaak geweldig.

Heerlijk gegeten bij deze zeer aardige mensen die heel gastvrij zijn. We waren hier op zaterdag en er was een buffet voor maar € 14.50. Daar kregen we soep vooraf bij, dan het buffet, en er was vers fruit en ijs en gebakken bananen bij als nagerecht. Het buffet was super lekker en daarvoor krijgt deze zaak van mij 5 sterren. Ook kun je natuurlijk van het menu eten. Heel erg de moeite waard.

De daging smoor was heerlijk en de bediening heel vriendelijk. De sfeer brengt me terug naar de Chinees in mijn jeugd in de jaren '80.

Heerlijke afhaal menu's. En ook nog eens betaalbaar. Vriendelijke bediening.
